PoliticsRe: Kofi Annan - Abiola's Death Was Suspicious. by PBundles(m): 11:53am On Oct 19, 2012
Very insightfull indeed and coming from Kofi Annan, a man I deeply respect as well as the rest of the world, certain things which we ALL knew have been confirmed. Lets see:

That the north KNOW they have a strong hold on the country and have always had an issue with giving this up. True then, true today.
That being linked with governmeng makes you wealthy, as much of Abiola wealth was attained by his connections. Still goes on today, we know who this individuals are, yet they are praised as if they are innovative business men.
That oil has been and will always be the issue as its abundance has lead to fraud never seen in any part of this world.
That Abacha was rutheless.
That our rulers, including the current government, have no CLUE what true leadership is in the service of the citizens of Nigeria.

Well same movie different actors.

I think most sound minds will agree EXCEPT ONE MINER POINT, THE MONEY YOU OWED! Im assuming if you owed me money and dodged me relentlessly, would you find it strange I came at odd hours to collect, even if I brought my entire village, would you still shout thief when you owed me. Im hoping that if you did and I was gettng lynched you would also be kind enough to at least tell the lynchers I did you a favour by lending you the money. You see that is what really pisses me off the more I read it, because we have had it done to us in that Nigeria. When its needed the toungue is O so sweet, bt pay me back then I become this bad person. I think this is what is getting most people upset.

mrkels: Okay am back. Hmmmm. What exactly are they arresting him for? I wanna know! If I was this guy, and 5 boys came to my house at night with or without a gun, men I for shout thief o!
Just my 2 cents... Anyways if they were not with a gun, then I ll tell the community head that they were not there to harm me etc...but if they were there to harm me,maybe pull a major cult hit like we see in the universities,.. ..well.........

Na Lynching sure pass for them. grin
Hey nobody should quoute me and spill BS, am not saying this is what happened, am only giving a particular scenerio and what I would have done if I found myself in such a situation
undecided

@Pak dont you think that inciting cant be seen as participating? Im 100% its covered under the law.
Take a step back and answer me this?
If Coxson was so innocent why did he not come forth about the fact that he owed one of them money? This was later revealed by others.
Did the other 4 boys know that the 5th boy had a weapon? By many accounts they didnt.
Dont robbers usually go armed, I mean if it was conspiracy wouldnt all the boys been armed if not with guns but with knives?
Why didnt we hear the entire story from the beginning? We were told from the onset, they caught thieves but this is a case of someone using force to reposses basd on debt owed.

I agree with you that we shouldnt jump to conclusions based on emotions, but to some extent the obvious is staring us in the face.

[quote author=pak]Wait a minute. Why is there so much lunacy in this country. Be it amongst the police force or the citizenry.

Unless, Coxson Lelebori Lucky actively participated in the lynching of those boys, then it stands to reason that he was 'completely guiltless' in the case of their death.

My points are made from the perspective of what I've heard about the case. Please if there is a misinformation somewhere let me know

I was answering your question. You stated you didnt believe they would send someone away for 30 years simply for lieing ( look back at your quote), hence I stated that perjury is a heavy offence. I never said he went to jail for lieing, but that he did LIE about having a gun.

pak: Sir, still on this ?

the charges read - Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Coercion and Criminal Conspiracy.

Where did you see perjury ?

Just as proof, since you questioned if they will send you to jail for 30 years for lieing as you dont seem to understand the importance, take the case of Barry Bonds. An american baseball player charged with usage and possession of steroids. He stood the chance of going to jail for 30 YEARS!!! no one died, no murder, PERJURY. Dont believe me... Here you go:

I doubt if the US judicial system can send a man to jail for 33 years for lying

No need to doubt, perjury my friend is a VERY SERIOUS OFFENSE and believe it or not is worse then murder as it falls with the realms of obstruction of justice. My cousin is State Proscuter in Illinois.

On the link you sent:

In September 2007, a group of men led by Simpson entered a room at the Palace Station hotel-casino and took sports memorabilia at gunpoint, which resulted in Simpson's being questioned by police.[39][40] Simpson admitted to taking the items, which he said had been stolen from him, but denied breaking into the hotel room; he also denied that he or anyone else carried a gun.

O by the way since you asked let me answer you on the juice (OJ). He went to jail BECAUSE HE LIED! When asked if he broke in using a gun he denied and said he didnt break in and he nor his mates had a weapon. Turned out to be a lie as they also held the person captive, so is serving for gun possession, breaking and kidnapping NOT because he went to get his tuff back.

pak: Wait a minute. Why is there so much lunacy in this country. Be it amongst the police force or the citizenry.

Unless, Coxson Lelebori Lucky actively participated in the lynching of those boys, then it stands to reason that he was 'completely guiltless' in the case of their death.

IF (and please note my capital if) the reports we hear that the boys actually approached the said coxson with guns (or a gun) and made away with his personal effects while trying to retrieve the debt he owed them. Then it stands to reason that Coxson had every right to raise an alarm of armed robbery, If they actually made away with his peronal belongings at gunpoint, then as I said, it stands to reason that from Coxson's perspective - it wasn't false alarm as claimed by the police spokesman, neither were they friendly gunmen.

What the ALUU residents now did in response to his alarm - his another thing, and unless it is proved that Coxson participated, then we need to thread with caution and not allow sentiments becloud our sense of Justice.

I do not know Coxson's prior relationship with the boys but it is only reasonable to say that owing someone 10kobo or 10 million does not give any one the right to attack me at night with a gun and make do with my belongings and Coxson had every right to cry out for help as any other reasonable person will.

My points are made from the perspective of what I've heard about the case. Please if there is a misinformation somewhere let me know

For educated folks out there, pls can you help me find out what O.J. Simpson is in Jail for presently ?

OJ Simpson led a group of men with guns to retrieve some personal property he believed was STOLEN from him.
He was charged and convicted for ARMED ROBBERY AND KIDNAPPING and sentenced to jail for 33 YEARS, so why are the Nigerian police behaving like the illiterates here (oh! sorry they are)

Nice one, you would make a good defense lawyer, but no banana. Throw those ifs out the window. Why is he running. You dont need to be too intelectual to see what was going on. Someone was owed money, went to retrieve it early in the morning (which by the way happens everywhere around the world) upon getting there couldnt retrieve and demanded a plegde/pawn (totaly normal). From accounts thats when your IF man raised alarm about robbers. Wasnt the story they stole laptops and Blackberrys. Coxson thought he was smart. Lets back track, didnt someone lend him money in need, is this the way you pay them back.

Let me give you an IF. IF he is released he is a WALKING DEAD MAN. THATS A FACT AND NO IFS ABOUT THAT.

Nice try, can you spell C O V E R U P. They chased you away whereas you have bullets and teargas. Shots fired in the air would have dispersed that crowd. The real reason for this story is simple, if the police didnt come up with it, those on duty would have been also possibly persucuted. Only one small fact you are missing mr IGP sir, those now held are going to squeal like pigs when they realise the possible punishment ( possiblly hanging) they may get and they will say your guys were around. And with the social media we have, Im sure someon ehas either fotos or video recordings.

JOHNBULL4040: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

MY NAME IS JOHNBULL. ONE OF MY COUSINS WAS AMONGST THE FOUR YOUNG MEN GRUESOMELY BURNT ALIVE IN ALUU.

AS GOD IS MY WITNESS, I INTEND TO AVENGE HIS/THEIR DEATHS!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THESE YOUNG MEN IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER THEY COMMITTED A CRIME OR NOT, IS BY EVERY HUMANE STANDARD, VERY DISTURBING AND BEYOND BELIEF.

WHAT THESE ALUU PEOPLE DID TO THEIR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS CLEARLY SUGGEST THAT THEY ARE A VERY SICK COMMUNITY.

FROM THE VIDEO WE ALL WATCHED, NOT EVEN ONE PERSON RAISED A FINGER TO HELP THESE POOR BOYS.

EVEN ANIMALS ARE NOT SLAUGHTERED THIS WAY.

I HAVE ASSEMBLED A 30-MAN SQUAD TO GO INTO THE ALUU COMMUNITY AND MASSACARE EVERYONE IN SIGHT.

I HAVE ALSO INSTRUCTED A SPECIAL TEAM TO FIND AND SHOOT THE VC OF UNIPORT FOR SUPPORTING THE BRUTAL KILLINGS OF THESE BOYS.

I AM ONLY GIVING THIS ADVANCED WARNING TO THE VC OF UNIPORT, AND THE ALUU COMMUNITY, JUST TO TORMENT THEM, THE WAY THEY TORMENTED THESE 4 YOUNG MEN.

I WILL ADVICE THE POLICE AND OTHER SECURITY OUTFITS TO PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE MATTER DURING THE OPERATIONS, THE WAY THEY MADE THEMSELVES UNAVALIABLE DURING THE MURDER.

ANYONE WHO DELIBRATELY INTERFERS, WILL BECOME A LEGITIMATE TARGET BOTH DURING AND AFTER THE OPERATIONS.

FOR THOSE WHO DOUBT THIS WARNING, PLEASE WAIT & SEE!!

If those who watched can be charged then shouldn’t the police also be charged. Actually I suspected this from the beginning but didn’t want to seem so negative. I was thinking to myself the presence of the police is the reason why they were bold enough to film this.

Its called group think. Human beings can be easily incited to do wrong in group situations like this.

CrazyMan: The thing is...during an execution of a thief, there is this demon that seems to possess people.

Everyone present in act are like...kill kill kill...no mercy no sympathy...and no one there would even bother to object such an act.

Maybe its because anyone who doesn't seem to agree with their decision (killing of an alleged thief) could be seriously dealt with.

I think our government needs to give our youths proper education.

Orientation 101 (steps on how to hand over a thief to the right authorities) would be a good start.

PoliticsRe: Why Are Nigerians In Diaspora So Bitter? by PBundles(m): 5:15pm On Oct 05, 2012
SPOT ON!

dayokanu: Tuesday, November 10, 2009
Nigerians abroad send at least $10 billion in remittances to their loved ones at home. This amount makes Nigeria the 6th highest destination for remittances according to the World Bank. That also makes Nigeria the top remittance destination on the African continent.

WHY ARE REMITTANCES IMPORTANT?
Many immigrants abroad send a portion of their earnings to family members in their home country. In some cases, these remittances are the only income that those families have to live on. In a country like Nigeria with anywhere between 8 to 15 million Nigerians living abroad, remittances are a way to provide financial assistance. This is crucial on a personal level because of Nigeria's high unemployment rate. And, it is reported that the money sent to Nigeria through unconventional means is actually 4 times the amount reported

PoliticsRe: Why Are Nigerians In Diaspora So Bitter? by PBundles(m): 4:56pm On Oct 05, 2012
I dont think Nigerians abroad IN GENERAL are bitter or anything like that. I say in general because you will have that odd extreme view. I think its because those that live abr0aod become accustomed to societies that in large part function and as such see the dysfunction of certain aspects with such glaring obscurity that it may seem like bitterness. Funny actually as I was discussing something like this with my dad just last week. He just turned 70 and is based in Nigeria. He studied in the states in the 70/80s and since mid 80 resides permanently in Nigeria. He visits us ( my brothers and I) at least once every 1-2 years making his rounds. During our discussion I was complaining about a meeting I had here, he laughed and said that if I lived in Nigeria I wouldnt be angry but I would accept it as its the way of life in Nigeria. In short Nigerians see the short comings but complaining doesnt help, so they live with it. Here you are more or less expected to voice your concern STRONGLY if something is not as it should. Some exmaples:

Here I expect the police to carry out their job, without me having to bribe or persuade. If not I can complain, but 9ja do you think i will go a lodge a complaint about a policeman not doing his job, for where.

I can apply for a job and expect that teh best canidate will be choosen, not that I need to grease any palms

If Im driving my car and it gets damaged because of poor roads, I can request compensation. Where can I do that in 9ja.

If power goes out and destroys my appliances, I get get compensated (this has actually happened to a close friend of mine and he was fully compensated)

Im sure you will have those odds turn of events, but I think you get the picture. Its not hate or bitterness.

Foreign AffairsRe: Romney And Obama: Who Won The First Debate? by PBundles(m): 3:17pm On Oct 04, 2012
CyberG: For those who are just hearing about Romney's positions today, UNDERSTAND that he just changed those positions to appear as "moderate". This guy NEVER had these positions to come through his party primaries while debating among his conservative co-aspirants and appealing to their republican "base". However, he has SHIFTED so much and close to Obama's position on many issues, even the analysts and citizens noticed that and commented after the debate. BOTTOMLINE: Romney will say and do anything NOW to get elected! So rightly, Obama asked: Are these plans you talk about SO GOOD that you are unable to tell Americans what EXACTLY they are? Hope none of you is fooled by the flip-flopping, 47% dissing Romney. The comments he made in private are a VERY accurate portrayal of his real thought towards the people since he thought the public would NEVER see or hear it. Today, he knows people are listening and had to say anything to deceive you.
SPOT ON! Though in my honest opinion and I hate to admit it, Romney won the debate. I think that Obama and his team underestimated him and werent prepared for this. Romney is trying to go central as possible in his views YET look Republican. Take for example his new look on young illegal aliens. We all know that right from time Obama has said he didnt think it was fair for them to be punished epecially if they were trying to make an effeort and fit in ( learning the language, going to school etc) We all know what Romney's view was as well as the rest of the Rep gang. Now all of a sudden, hours before the debate he ALSO is of the view they should be deported WT? Look at the health bill he is against, it is more or less a mirror of what he implemented as govenor. What a joker? He will balance the budget in 8 years Umm how didnt tell us. But just for the record only one past president in the last 16 years has been able to do that (clinton, with a surplus in his 2nd term).

I think that the point is being missed. No matter what religion you belong to, it should be respectrf PERIOD. But the issue is that in the name of freedom of speach, we have forgotten that we still need to respect each other. This low life of a producer that obviously has attained NOTHING in his carreer or he wouldnt be making these films, creates a film in which a religious leader is depicted as a Homosexual, pedophile. I mean seriously and we REALLY WONDER WHY SOMEONE IS UPSET. He can act innocent all he wants but the blood of that deam ambassador, who by the way risked his own life during the lybian uprising to ensure that Ghadaffi was removed is now dead. He will now go into hiding claiming freedom of speach. He should be ashaamed of his sorry excuse for a human being. Listen, I dont in anyway support fanatics, but we have them on both sides, christian and islam. This has nothing to do with freedom of speach but simply insighting people. If you asked me how your lady looked, what would you prefer. Dude she is alright but not my type or God Damn bro where did you pick up this ugly fcking bitch on the street corner. Think about it.
