And Datti understands who the boss is, and has absolutely no issue with that.

Just imagine Nigeria after 8 years of Peter Obi and 8 years of Datti.

PoliticsWhere Is PDP? by Penguin2(op): 11:02pm On May 30, 2023
One of the accusations that PDP has gotten in the last 8 years is that it’s a docile opposition. The party’s actions has however not helped their image any better as they seem to have proven to be a docile opposition indeed.

For instance, at Tinubu’s inauguration yesterday, he announced that subsidy was gone. An announcement that has thrown the nation into frenzy and confusion and energy crisis of sort.

Labour Party has condemned the announcement as hasty and not well thought out. Same has NLC and TUC done.

But somehow, PDP is nowhere to be found. No statement. Nothing.

Which has left me wondering and asking, where is PDP?

Recall that some bulk of PDP supporters line up to offer their congratulations to Tinubu for being sworn in as president, including Reno Omokri, even though their presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is still in court challenging the process and outcome of the election. Who does that?

PoliticsRe: Gov. Alex Otti's Impression Yesterday Was Not A Good One by Penguin2: 8:43pm On May 30, 2023
Ebus12:
Dear Executive Governor of Abia State, Mr Alex Otti, please what relevance was it to invite an expensive artiste like Davido to come and perform at your inauguration yesterday?

Of what use was it?
What exactly is there to celebrate in your inauguration to become Governor of one of the most dilapidated states in the country?

Was yesterday not supposed to be a day of sober reflection and proper analysis of how to start repairing what your predecessors, Theodore Orji and Okezie Ikpeazu spoiled in Abia?

Mr. Otti, JSYK, the people of Abia have high hopes for you. They have suffered enough. They needed a deliverer, and that's why they collectively voted out PDP, with all their might and strength.
Despite all the rigging, PDP could just not rig out the will of a determined people. They expect results.

Inviting Davido to come and sing "Dem go feel it" was not a good start. Not a good impression
For goodness sake, what have the people of Abia not felt?
Bad roads, gigantic potholes, floods, non-payment of civil servants' salaries, violence, and every other type of misfit.
What have they not felt that Davido will make them feel?

Sir, you are supposed to make Abians feel better not threaten them.
That song was a threat, and I'm sure 50% of Abians didn't sleep last night.
Kick-starting your administration with such type of song tells a lot about your intentions.

And if your intentions are what I'm thinking, may the judgment that was pronounced in a Kano court, be upheld, so that you will be removed, and someone more competent will be placed there.
Even if Abians offended anybody, have they not paid for their sins enough?
https://www.nairaland.com/7708075/not-dime-davido-clarifies-he

Read through that post and cure yourself of ignorance and hate.

You are not from Abia.

You never supported Otti to win in Abia.

Now you come here with false narrative forming concerned Abian.

Those politicians always play themselves out of the game like Ngige did in Anambra. Ngige that most Anambrarians would have willingly died for then...
One thing a lot of Nigerian politicians, especially Igbo politicians, mismanage is perception.

Perception is immaterial but very strong force in politics. And once perception is formed, it’s difficult to be changed.

Atiku is not the darling of the north today because northerners perceive him as friend of the south, and as not being an ascetic Muslim enough.

Ngige’s popularity dwindled in Anambra due to how he was perceived after he made wrong choices of association.

Same thing happened to Okorocha, Umahi, Orji Uzor Kalu, Ogbonnaya Onu, etc.

Now, Soludo is following the same path thinking he’d get a different outcome but we’ll see where his choices leads him.

All the potential of Abia State will be maximized now

Abia is a well known Oil and Gas state Especially in Ukwa East end West area
Then when it comes to commerce
ABA is a sleeping behemoth, much bigger than even Onitsha
All there former governor's were extremely very useless not being able to develop that State with all her potentials
I was speaking with a friend and he said that the destiny of Abia has changed forever and I agreed with him.

With Otti’s background and the calibre of people who form his advisors, it’s gonna be difficult for him to fail.

First, he needs to construct Aba/Port Harcourt Road and give that axis a facelift.

Second, I like that he has declared State of Emergency on waste disposal because Aba needs to be cleaned up.

Then I like the MSME Financing Scheme he has announced because a lot of Aba producers just need funding to produce at larger scale. While others with the requisite skills don’t have funds to start at all.

The next thing is to embark on quality check and branding and you will see Made in Aba products takeover Nigeria and Africa.

Again, he needs to partner with Barth Nnaji’s Geometric Power to give Aba and Abia an almost 24 hours uninterrupted power supply to reduce the cost of production.

See, Abia is delivered and the testimony will start manifesting soonest.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mr garfield1,

You might need to spend some more time among the various peoples of Nigeria.

In case you do not know, all the talk about IPOB/ESN does not trigger a Northern Christian. Just the Muslims.

The Christians there have had a terrible time being dominated by the Muslims that they feel a kinship to the only people in this country who feel their pain, and has stood by them, without hesitation every single time.

You really are yet to understand the undercurrents below the tribal affiliations in this country. But your principal does, reason he is actually more threatened by Obi than by Atiku. Forget what he says. Look at his actions instead.

Clearly, they are preparing for a rerun. You might not see that yet. But the signs are all over - the attempts to demarket PO etc. But having known Nigerians from all around the country up close like I do, they should be scared. Really scared.

Also, he needs to gain just 1.5m votes. Deduct it from BAT and Atiku and post it back to PO accordingly. Remember the BVAS...
Lol!

You see the problem with Garfield is that he sees nothing wrong in wrongdoing or obvious distortion of facts and reality. To them, it’s “real politicking’.

He doesn’t mind bending arguments and calling white black just the justify the atrocities of the divide he’s loyal to.

The 2023 elections was viciously and dangerously rigged beyond the imagination of anybody and against the impression INEC gave before the election but all those things don’t matter to Garfield.

A picture of Form EC8A from one polling unit in Bauchi showed Labour Party scoring 140 votes but when the votes of the entire Local Government was computed by INEC, LP’s votes was below 140. But Garfield sees nothing wrong with that.

Again, they always fail to understand that every vote gained by Peter Obi is a minus for Tinubu or Atiku as the case may be.

They forget, that if tomorrow the court agrees that Peter Obi won Rivers, Benue and Taraba, what that translates to is that Obi won 15 States while Tinubu won 10 and Atiku won 11. The implication is that if rerun is happening, Obi is definitely making the rerun or run off with a psychological edge.

The KKK states he’s talking about was shared by 3 people who canceled themselves out which was an advantage to Peter Obi but Garfield will always want to bend logic on its head and leave you wondering how some people perceive things.

Hmmmm!

We may not like him or like to admit it, but Buhari seems to be the most popular politician to ever come out of Nigeria. Man is worshipped like god in the north.

The only person that comes closely second to who Buhari is, is Peter Obi. But I would reckon Obi above Buhari because Obi’s supporters are informed and educated and they cut across the country from East to West, South to North while Buhari is restricted to the north.

The third person with this kind of followership is Kwankwaso. But Kwankwaso is just another Buhari with his supporters restricted to the north; some region of the north at that.

I’ve not seen a fourth or fifth person.

These three people are in a class of their own.

PoliticsRe: What Is The Price Of A Litre Of Fuel In Your State? by Penguin2: 11:53am On May 30, 2023
I was a little bit lucky.

I went out sometimes last week to buy fuel for my generator and discovered that some filling stations were already closing the stations without selling. I knew it was because of the muted removal of subsidy when Tinubu takes office, and I quickly arranged for 50 litres.

I’m hoping to manage that until there’s a little bit of sense of direction about the whole subsidy stuff.

I don’t blame Tinubu for removing subsidy. Subsidy should have been gone since 2012. He just needs to provide a sense of direction right now as against everyone doing what they like which is what is happening now.
PoliticsYusuf Datti Joins Peter Obi In Court As Trial Resumes At Tribunal (pics) by Penguin2(op): 11:49am On May 30, 2023
When the idea of an Obi/Kwankwaso merger was muted, I prayed for it to succeed because I knew that it would have been a ticket that would be too difficult to rig out, but it failed.

What we didn’t know was that God allowed the Obi/Kwankwaso merger to fail because he had better plans for Obi and what he hopes to achieve for Nigeria.

True, an Obi/Kwankwaso ticket would have taken the oath of office yesterday but Peter Obi would have had to watch his back throughout their administration. Kwankwaso wouldn’t have been loyal. He sees Peter Obi as a junior and thinks of himself too highly coupled with some of his anachronistic views and ethnic biases.

But an ObiDatti ticket was match made in heaven. Two refined gentlemen that are almost untainted.

I’ve always imagined what Nigeria would be like after 8 years of Obi and another 8 years of Yusuf Datti. That’s some 16 years of quality leadership by people who are not interested in plundering the resources of the country but blocking of leakages, streamlining government agencies and increment of revenue rather than placing emphasis on sharing.

A lot of times opposition have wished he has given up on the Obi mandate but he has always reappeared stronger with more fire for the course than even Peter Obi.

Yesterday he was in Abia for Alex Otti’s inauguration. Today’s he is in court to witness the case in court. He actually arrived before Obi but Obi joined later after the case had began.

Nigeria shall be great again!

In keeping with global and expert agreement that SMEs drive economies, the new governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has launched a 10 billion Naira MSMEs financing scheme that will target 20,000 entrepreneurs in the next 2 years.

The idea of empowering MSMEs is that if you empower 20,000 entrepreneurs with seed capital, not 10k insignificant trader money, you are going to be hopeful that about 10,000 of them will succeed. Now, when the business of the 10,000 starts to flourish, they are going to need at least 2 employees to help them manage the business. Multiply 2 into 10,000 and you have 20,000 people that is employed. Add that 20,000 to the 10,000 owners of a flourishing MSMEs and you will have 30,000 people that you have successfully taken out of joblessness. And with good management and training, their number of employees will keep increasing.

Repeat the process after monitoring the progress of the first batch and by the time you are done in office, you may have created about 100,000 millionaires, not trader money beneficiaries.

That’s how people with brains run an economy, and this is not rocket science.

Economic points in Abia State Governor inauguration speech

"Our government shall be 100% pro-business. Government shall not be in competition with the private sector. It shall instead remain a facilitator"

Good baseline focus on PPP

"Our government shall, launch a N10b MSME financing scheme, which will comprise conditional business grants and low interest loans to support a minimum of 20,000 MSMEs over the next 2 years and generate 100,000 direct jobs and another 200,000 indirect employments in the State"

"Work closely with my team to drive the recruitment of about 5,000 new teachers for our primary & secondary schools. Priority shall be given to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subject areas and to those who are also willing to serve in rural communities"

"The setting up of a cabinet level position within the Governor’s Office to drive our ‘Ease of Doing Business’ agenda. The appointee shall work closely with me to see that Abia moves from its present poor position into the Top 5 in the “Ease of Doing Business” index in Nigeria"

"Let me state that for me, awards, honours and recognitions are not welcome until I leave office. Put diffently, any awards, titles, recognitions or the like that I did not receive before now should wait until we leave office."

At the conclusion of the last guber election in Ogun State, INEC announced that Dapo Abiodun won the election with over 300k votes. But ironically, images emerging from his swearing in ceremony showed the man waving at empty seats in the stadium that would leave wondering where are the over 300k people that voted for him.

When you contrast these images from Ogun to the images of Carnival-like inauguration ceremony that emerged from Abia, Kano, etc, you’d know the difference of someone enjoying the popular mandate of the people and someone who got himself back into office against the people’s wish.
