Obaaderemi2: Atiku knew obi would not deputize him again because the mantra then was that it was the turn of the Ibos. The fact is if obi had been on the ballot with Atiku there's no way Tinubu would have won with the way the stupid Buhari had messed up Tinubu's chances. It's possible Tinubu actually funded Obi's campaign without Obi's knowledge to make him a strong candidate who would destroy Atiku's chances in the South.
About rigging and violence and the likes, politicians are never comfortable with their abilities to win even when it's clear they're going to win. They'll still play underhanded games, even obi rigged in the East. Before election took place we knew APC would win and LP would come third. Are you saying you didn't know this? I can't believe a savvy person like you didn't know that.
Fact: Obi's emergence and strong showing helped Tinubu. Wether Tinubu planned it or it was just divine is unclear. No one knew anything. If anything, Obi was going to win. I hate it when young people like you see obvious evil and try to rationalize it. Obi’s votes was slashed in different states of the federation and given to either Atiku or Tinubu. Yet you claim it’s normal. And yes, Obi didn’t rig in the Southeast. If anything, his votes was systematically reduced and suppressed in the southeast. |

I’ve said this before.
Tinubu may have planted men who lured Obi into Labour Party but they didn’t know it was going to become a conflagration beyond their control.
What they thought was to destroy Atiku ended up setting on the path to destroy both Atiku and the Tinubu it was meant to help.
That’s why Tinubu and his gang of criminals now resorted to the use of brute force and obvious manipulation of votes to get themselves declared.
The snake 🐍 the thought they were growing as pet ended up growing beyond their expectations and threatening to swallow them.
This snake is still crawling around which is why Tinubu and his gang are still jittery. |

HacheNoire: Peter was the vehicle Tinubu used to Aso-Rock.
The moment Peter left PDP, the election was already concluded.
It would have been a very tough one if Atiku and Peter ran together again.
And the biggest loser now is Peter, Shame can’t allow him return to PDP, as that’s the only platform that can get him to presidency if he will ever be.
The game is more thicker than Peter knows, with regards to AFRICAN politics. This guys know more than we know because they are in the inside. So, Obi already knew that Atiku had concluded his plans to choose his running mate from the Southsouth and also zeroed in on Okowa. So even if Obi had stayed in PDP Atiku wouldn’t have chosen him as running mate. Now, are you saying he should have just stayed in PDP and help use his popularity to win the election for PDP while Atiku and Okowa would be feeling like gods? |

An extremist with his extreme religious sentiments. Go back and read Soludo's letter to understand that it wasn't a rocket science to see through the shenanigans paraded by obi and his clueless crew.
Before the elections, I staked 10m against 1m and I won 🏆. My good friend lost a million naira. Are you a blind Tinubu supporter or are you ready to have a conversation? Because I would like to ask you, if your Tinubu and his men were so sure that Atiku and Obi being in different parties would grant him (Tinubu) victory, why did INEC had to switch off the IREV just to conjure numbers for Tinubu? Why did INEC had to rig Rivers election so scandalously that what is on their portal is different from what they announced? Obi won Lagos with over 900k votes but was almost halved to help Tinubu’s numbers. Same in Plateau and elsewhere. Is that the kind of victory you are gloating about? |

gidgiddy: Some people like to talk arrant nonsense
How much would Tinubu give a billonaire like Obi to help him win elections? Theres somethings you hear and you wonder if those that believe it have a brain
If Tinubu sponsored Obi, why would Obi be at the tribunal today fighting Tinubu?
If Tinubu sponsored Obi, what is in it for Obi? How much will you be able to give a billionaire like Obi for him to travel all over Nigeria campaigning, just for another person to win?
Obi ran on his own merit to become President of Nigeria, same as others, and not because of anything to do with Tinubu You don’t understand what they are saying… No one is saying Tinubu paid Obi to leave PDP; even Tinubu knows he can’t buy Obi with any amount. What they are saying is that Tinubu sent men who convinced Obi to leave PDP and stand for the election in another party; that he can win if he does. Now, the intention of this men was to make sure PDP’s traditional votes is split between Atiku and Obi which would give Tinubu victory like they are claiming it did now. |

savcy: This is a well-spinned conspiracy theory, but a conspiracy theory nonetheless. Nothing is further from the truth. Obi left the PDP when it became obvious that money was going to play a significant role in who emerges as flag-bearer, and Atiku, his "senior brother", was pretty clear about his choice of Okowa (whom he chose solely on the basis of his 'war chest' from day one) as V. P. He had nothing of an arrangement with anyone. This cheap attempt to tarnish his image is laughable.
Tinubu only profited from the simple math of subtraction that was the consequence of Obi's candidature. And if we're being fair, an election so flawed cannot even be a legitimate factor in discussing the outcomes of the last election cycle. So, I wouldn't be so bold as to even say Tinubu profited, because he may as well have come third, but we may never know. I mean, there had to be an infraction of process for him to emerge. He may be President, but we can't really use anything from that election to critically discuss anything tangible, because we're not even certain he won. I share your position too. I always ask myself, so if scholars are writing about the voting pattern of 2023 presidential election for academic purposes, they will write that Bola Tinubu won Rivers State? We all know that would be a flawed research because Rivers people never voted Tinubu and it’s only INEC that would explain where they manufactured figures for him. So, nobody can use the result of 2023 election for anything after it was viciously rigged to alter the wishes of the people. Same way Tinubu should not gloat of securing victory through the balkanization of PDP because we all know if votes counted he would be sitting in third position. |

The narrative of Peter Obi having been lured away from PDP to LP by Pat Utomi to help divide Atiku’s votes has dominated the front burner since yesterday after the man from Ibadan went on Radio to declare that Obi was just a pawn in Tinubu’s game.
But was Obi really their pawn?7
I am tempted to believe that in the beginning, Obi may have actually been helped to his candidacy by men planted by Tinubu. But then things got of hand.
Things got of hand because people bought into the Obi candidacy. And from being a spoiler to Atiku, he became a real threat to Tinubu who thought Obi’s emergence would help his own ambition.
I would like to also suppose that even the agents who were deployed by Tinubu to ‘deceive’ Obi, now saw that they had a real sight at power and they possibly stopped taking instructions from Tinubu which is why the EFCC came for somebody like Okupe who I’m sure must have been part of Tinubu’s agents.
So, what I’m saying is that the Obi journey may have started with Tinubu’s agents thinking they wanted to deceive Obi to hurt Atiku, but it ended up becoming a tsunami and a conflagration that even Tinubu and his Much touted structure laboured to put out and ended up messing themselves up by rigging the election like children in kindergarten.
In a nutshell, there’s nothing for Tinubu’s boys to celebrate about the revelation that Tinubu funded Obi’s campaign because it turned out becoming a curse on even Tinubu himself.
Obi turned the eggs thrown at him into omelette and and checkmated the one who thought himself master of chess who had to resort to breaking the chessboard to prevent being checkmated.
But let’s see how far he can go with a dubious victory. |

garfield1: Sixty three members-elect of the 10th House of Representatives in opposition parties have endorsed the anointed candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Tajudeen Abbas and Benjamin Kalu for Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.
The spokesman for the Coalition of United Political Parties, Ikenga Ugochinyere, who led 62 other members-elect in minority political parties, announced the endorsement in Abuja on Wednesday.
Ugochinyere, a member-elect representing Ideato North/South Federal Constituency, called on other speakership aspirants banking on votes of the opposition members-elect to contest against the Abbas/Kalu ticket, to withdraw from the race as votes would no longer be available for them.
Ugochinyere said, “It is on this note that I call on my colleague members-elect who are still in the race to stop and join the prefect of the class, Hon Tajudeen Abbas, to steer the ship of the 10th Assembly to beat the records of the other Houses in performance and achievement for Nigeria.
“Our common goal now should be beyond party and partisan politics and totally focused on Nigeria and her greater good. We want the best and we have selected the best and importantly, the selection is by merit.
“I do not speak for myself alone. I speak for the 63 like-minded honourable members-elect of the opposition family, who have agreed on a common vision for the 10th Assembly. We will transform into the TBK Group. Our 63 votes without any dissent or abstention will go for Hon. Tajudeen Abbas. In the coming days, Nigerians will come to know the identity of the TBK Group and will also feel our impact.”
According to the CUPP spokesman, Abbas possesses all the needed qualities to be the next Speaker of the House.
“He is enviably educated, has a Doctorate Degree and eminently and vastly experienced to preside over the affairs of the House. He is highly resourceful and is manifestly of unblemished integrity which has earned him respect amongst our colleagues at the National Assembly and obviously his party,” he said.
Ugochinyere also noted that with 43 bills in the 8th Assembly, Abbas had the 3rd highest number of bills, while in the 9th House, the speakership candidate has 74 bills https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://punchng.com/10th-nass-63-opposition-members-elect-endorse-abass-kalu/%3Famp&ved=2ahUKEwim2vaS3ZD_AhVDilwKHf0VBPoQFnoECBEQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2EgUY9DicL-ogMignrLweF

There is no retrial. Same thing I tried to make him understand. I don’t know where APC guys got that notion from. That even if PDP wins in court tomorrow, the case will just go back to High Court for retrial when lower courts already gave their judgments on the case. |

Moh247: Then go and learn what Criminal offense, Capital offense are
Also go and learn what Civil cases are
This would tell you why Police the prosecutor can sue you unbehalf of Nigerian state for crime commited against a Nigerian citizen
And PDP can not sue APC on what they do in their party reason
Also learn what Locus standi means in a civil case
Learn all this and you won't bother yourself on this case
. Lol! You are just running helter-skelter trying to conjure up anything that will help your flawed argument stay afloat. Remember in my analogy I used murder or battery but you have chosen to clutch onto murder because you wanna help your poor argument with the difference between capital and civil offenses. Nomination and electoral matter is niether criminal nor capital, it's civil and must be treated civil
And notice I said I took 2 prices of meat and replaced it in my own "house" my jurisdiction, and PDP unlawful interference won't be tolerated
Hope you have learnt now how my anology works or you would go for more whataboutism

Mynd44: Nah, the issue is not that the supreme court must follow the judgment of the lower courts but if you want to learn towards saying she will be compromised based on her son, what happened with the judges at the high and appeal courts?
Odili's wife sat on the Supreme Court's bench for years and no one accused her because she is a professional and will carry out her job to the best of her capability.
Plus do you realize the judgenent tomorrow is actually not one that is capable of removing the president elect but to decide if the high court was wrong in refusing to hear the case hence even if the APC loses, the court process will now go to the high court to be tried? Has Justice Ogunwumiju earned such trust as did Justice Odili? Has she given us enough reason to trust her to do justice even when a member of her family is an interested party? Then about the case being about whether PDP has right to sue Shettima, it’s actually intricate and dicey. That’s why Tinubu’s camp is jittery. Because if the Supreme Court agrees that PDP has locus to sue, the case is as good as over since Shettima and APC’s lawyers have never contested the fact that Shettima was nominated in two constituencies. All their arguments has been, “yes there was double nomination but it’s non of PDP’s business”. It is said that Shettima’s lawyer even admitted to such before the Justices of the Supreme Court. So, no one is sure that the Supreme Court is not going to make consequential orders should they agree that PDP has locus. And remember, the case was already struck out at High and Appeal Courts which means they are concluded in the lower courts already. |

Moh247:

Losers already looking for excuses when they know they don't have locus standi in the case as only APC can challenge its own nominations of its own member
It's like my neighbors and rival trying to sue me to court why I took two pieces of meat and replaced it with a turkey peice in my own house
What's PDP's business with APC internal politics
. Is exchanging chicken for turkey in your own house a crime? No. That’s why your neighbor can’t sue you for that. But what if you murder your wife? Would you still say “this is my house, and my neighbor has no business here” after you have broken the law? I’m trying to school you to use the right analogies when you want to use analogy. Stealing meat from your wife’s pot of soup is immoral but not illegal. That’s why it’s not gonna be any of your neighbors’ business. But battering or murdering your wife is both immoral and illegal and have lost all rights to privacy when you do that because your neighbors will have every right to take you up. |

Ikpeazu too, lost at the Tribunal and Appeal Court but won at the Supreme Court. After the 2019 elections, Uzodimma lost at the Tribunal and Appeal Court but won at the Supreme Court. I hope that with these few points of mine, I’ve been able to prove to you that that a plaintiff lost at the lower courts doesn’t mean he must lose at the Supreme Court. And that’s why we want impartial judges without any emotional attachment to either side of the divide. Is that too much to ask? |

Can she still be neutral?
Recall that in 2019, Justice Bulkachuwa, the then president of the Court of Appeal, recused herself from the Presidential Petition Tribunal Panel due to the fact that her husband is a serving senator of the APC.
Is this not enough reason for Justice Ogunwumiju to recuse herself off this case? Can we still trust her to do justice?

According to the judge, the Apc admitted to double nomination.
