Was it a quote from metuh or the writer's words? Please clarify to be sure we are not reading two different stories.

jjcbuthot: He should also be suspended from the party and if necessary the entire PDP structure in Niger should be suspended.

Lol...
The issue on NGF is subjudice and till the final outcome, maintaining a position does not hold waters. He should explain what made him renege on his words after agreeing to present Jang to other governors. He is just showing that he cannot be trusted.

The ballot papers should have included the signature of every one as they vote if there is no hidden agenda by the acclaimed winning faction. If the DG, I am sure the NGF secretariat DG will be required to produce the ballot papers in court and hope that will be enough to proof that 19 Gov actually voted for Amaechi.

If the ballot papers were only ticked, then all the governors that attended the inaugural meeting of Jang's fanction can petition the courts that they voted Jang or DG, NGF proof otherwise through the ballot papers.

PoliticsRe: PDP Suspended Wamakko For Disrespecting Tukur by PEREP: 11:33am On Jun 07, 2013
texazzpete: If it is ok for Labaran Maku to represent GEJ at a public function, why then is it a crime for the State party secretary to respond to Tukur on behalf of the Governor?
The important thing is that the letter written back to Tukur is the official position of the State Governor on that query. Whose fault is it that that old, decrepit PDP chair cannot consider the content of the message and instead go on an ego trip because a 'small boy' wrote that reply.

Shebi they said politicians are public servants? Next time Jonathan sends Labaran Maku or Stella Oduah to go and make a speech on his behalf in a University, maybe we should start calling for his impeachment. Nonsense.

The Presidency has been going around saying it was perfectly OK for Ambassador Gbenga Ashiru to present nigeria's statement to the African Union in Addis Ababa. Maybe the AU should have suspended Nigeria for daring to send a mere Ambassador to address a gathering of Presidents. Nonsense!
Labaran Maku, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru and Stella Oduah are Executive ministers of this country and by the constitution of Nigeria represents the President in their respective MDAs. You can only have a case if Olisa Metuh represented the president in Executive matters.

dotreal4life: This is total madness. If a father calls his son and the son does not pick his phone, the father
will disown his son? They should have looked for a better reason. Money has blocked their brains
hence they can't think right again.
The son could not return the call for two months and when he was contacted via an official letter (in the context of your response, it is like the SMS), he asked a friend to respond using his phone (Party Secretary using Sokoto Govt letterhead). If that happens in your house or office, will you just fold your hands? Let's get serious and discuss issues on their merit.

Our governors are too powerful and with the autonomy of the local governments and scrapping of SIECs, their powers will be decimated because allocation of funds will be remmitted directly from Abuja which automatically shift the loyalty of the Local Government Chairmen. The chairmen will be able to recruit their foot soldiers who can challenge any governor that want to overstep his boundaries.
PoliticsRe: Rivers ACN Blast Tinubu For Meeting With Amaechi by PEREP: 11:00am On Jun 07, 2013
dayokanu: Well done Asiwaju

Thats how ACN would gain a stranglehold in Rivers.

Strategic planning while others are making noise,

The way ACN chased PDP out of SW.

The same planning that ensured ACN has a senatorial seat in the heartland of Anambra

the same way ACN found its way into the Benue State in the North central

Take it, Tinubu is the best politician in the whole country

A man who ensured his own party has legislators from all regions in the country

Something older parties like ANPP, APGA, Labour Party cannot do.

Tinubu alone designed a party thats number 1 opposition in Nigeria

God bless Asiwaju Tinubu
when Ekiti and Osun polls are concluded we will see the level of strenght and hold of Tinubu over the Southwest. we are also waiting for what will play out in Oyo state.

The truth is that Amaechi has no strong political base anymore and the people hyping his person at the moment are from outside the South South and I ask who then will vote because Amaechi is now in APC. Have you heard anyone from River's state backing Amaechi apart from his commissioners. Even the ACN goons in the state cannot see themselves working together with Amaechi.

Tinubu will soon understand what it means to chair a national party and not a regional party.

The drama continues------

PoliticsRe: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by PEREP: 4:27pm On Jun 06, 2013
One term of Six years will stop all these unneccessary tension and distraction associated with 'second term' in this country. with this alliance between Akala and Ladoja, the Oyo state Governor will have to resume all the neccessary scheming to have a second term ticket. In all of this, development and other issues will be affected which will SURELY affect the Oyo state people.

funshint: you just go to the internet to quote figures and you erroneously used it for your projection. Its obvious you don't understand anything as regards politics, just go and sleep! angry let me tell u just divide Ladoja's vote in 2011 by half and join it to Ajimobi's vote; then you have a faint image of what 2015 will be like.

u're very much correct; Ladoja is going to lose a lot of supporters/sympathizers going by this stupid move of his. Ajimobi will whip them so bad I can only imagine
We are all watching.

dayokanu: We Oyo people roundly reject anything that has to do with Akala and PDP

He should carry his "Fanta face Coke leg" to wherever PDP is ruling
The figures below were officially declared by INEC Nigeria for Oyo State Governorship election

ACN : 420,822.
PDP : 387132.
Accord : 275,773.

If politics is a game of number and no one has so far defected from the sides of PDP and Accord, then Ajimobi might not win a second term. Oyo state like Ekiti has never produced a second term governor and I am sure the two states will be watched with keen interest come 2015.

This is a prologue to the main Drama in Oyo State.
PoliticsRe: PhD, Msc Holders Jostle For Lagos’ N25,000 Jobs Meant For School Leavers by PEREP: 9:45am On Jun 06, 2013
slap1: All these people screaming self-employment seem to forget that you have to start with something. Everyone is not equally blessed. You need money to start anything, no matter how little. Our youths are hardworking, but the government is not supportive.
Not in all cases. There are people who simply advertise shoes on BB only to go pick it from an aunt or a shop owner when a friend is interested. I also know of people who simply wake up, look around for addresses of houses that are vacant around lagos and propagate it via the social media and get percentage accordingly. This is not to talk of people who copy phone numbers on cars parked for sale and get a buyer while the seller simply pay a percentage. Some pple even start with counseling school pupils after a detailed research on choosing a career via the Internet and get the parents of those kids to pay as low as N500 to attend.

So many things around to do but most pple are waiting for one capital which is no where. Add value to existing structures and see if you will not make it VERY big.

All the best.
PoliticsRe: PhD, Msc Holders Jostle For Lagos’ N25,000 Jobs Meant For School Leavers by PEREP: 9:39am On Jun 06, 2013
Gbawe: I think we read similar to this not too long ago when PHD holders were amongst those applying for driving vacancies in one of Aliko Dangote's companies.

Employment cannot be boosted appreciable if the centre remains unwilling to make efforts against current practices sabotaging the growth of the SME sector (the main employer of labour worldwide) and stifling economic prosperity of the nation.

How, as one example, can the SME sector grow when 70% of annual budgeted spending is used to recurrently fund governance and politics? Generally, far more help, as a matter of utmost urgency, should be available for the SME sector for a nation like Nigeria with a chronic and serious unemployment problem. This is not the case because spending the wealth of Nigeria profligately on politics, politicians and patronising offices/activities affiliated with governance is the self-destructive obsession of a myopic class of leaders Nigeria has had at the centre since 1999.
Who are these PHD holdershuh How many people applied that 85% are PHD and MSc holders? This sounds untrue I beg.

PoliticsRe: Governor Rotimi Amaechi Offers To Step Down As NGF Chairman If............. by PEREP: 3:27pm On Jun 04, 2013
Is the 'heat' too much for Amaechi to bear and where are the Opposition goons who was singing the 'Agidigbo' Song for him to dance at the market square.
Like the PDP that I know, they always close ranks and I don't see this issue as an exception.

For Fashola, did any of the governors put down their names or sign during voting? it was only a tick and as such it is easier for some of the governors who reneged on their earlier promise to support Jang deny ever voting for Amaechi. As at the first meeting of Jang team, 18 governors attended and it is easier for them to do a communique jointly signed to the courts except Fashola can prove otherwise.

The drama is still on and we are watching

If this behaviour of Jonathan and Jang is not checked it will set a very dangerous precedent.

Jonathan will loose again in court!

I quiet agreed wt d above, some of NL just post comments wtout thinking, we need to be careful wt d Nigeria politics. It has become PDP tradition in stealing mandate we all know what happened in 2007 elections in Osun, ekiti & Edo states it was court dat decided d true winners in those states, hence Gov Fashola SAN has done what is wright( pro Ameachi has done well by not heating d politics). 2 d history is not far in 2012 january on oil subsidy- remember NGF were wt FG in policy making as a stakeholder on d issue. 3 during president Yar'adua demised av dey forgotten NGF were fully involved among other stakeholders. Finally just becos someone interest

Am not a party card member or into politics but let d rule of law guide our doings for future generation so that everyone will be proud to be a Nigerian n also av a sense of belonging.
Do you agree NGF backed out when the fuel subsidy issue got to the centre stage even when they used the forum to mount pressure on the FG?
They called for a stop to the recent emergency rule because that is the stand of the opposition ACN (Lai Mohammed's statement after the emergency rule says it all.
The opposition wish to dictate the tune in the country and expect the ruling party to keep singing their praise
If PDP is the one using Fasola against ACN, do you think Tinubu and the party will simply give him a standing ovation? I am sure they will impeach him in less than 2 weeks.
All is not fully well in ACN Lagos State even. Do you know the state assembly in Lagos asked the Governor to stop the tolling on the new bridge constructed ? Ikuforiji/Fashola issue is a disaster in the waiting cos the latter believe Fashola invited EFCC to the aledged fraud in Lagos Assembly.

PoliticsRe: Reps Suspends $40Million Internet Surveillance Contract by PEREP: 6:00pm On May 30, 2013
Afam4evaIsASlut: Stop talking from both sides of your mouth. On one hand you do not advocate the monitoring of emails of Nigerian citizens---except those that pose a detrimental risk to the security of the Nation---, on the other hand you support the Nigerian Govt outsourcing the defense of the country to a potential enemy in the event of a future conflict be it armed or unarmed (or do you think every war is fought with guns and bombs) ? So, according to this wonderful proposal of yours, who decides who/what gets monitored Nigeria or Israel?

Finally, if you do not have the expertise, you nurture the kids for the future so that they can gain where you lacked. Thats what GEJ shouldve done: invest that $40million in Science and Technology for Nigerian children so they can benefit of it in the future, instead of worrying about what Lai Mohammed is gonna say next so he can have a well rehearsed rebuttal at hand immediately the Opposition goes to press.
I don't belong to PDP and Lai Mohammed cum opposition's position on any issue is their opinion. I have only given my own opinion. If the govt make any move I am not comfortable with, I will also voice same out.
The kids will not be experts overnight and if this facility is not available at the rate Nigeria security challenge was going, we will have no country to nurture the kids.

I am saying again, I support the move by the Presidency and House of Reps is simply playing to the gallery because they are fixed on 2015 elections and will politicize anything.

You keep mentioning Isreal as potential threat. You must have some info we don't have on Isreal-Naija relationship.
PoliticsRe: Reps Suspends $40Million Internet Surveillance Contract by PEREP: 5:20pm On May 30, 2013
Afam4evaIsASlut: Holy crap! Dude are you slow or what? THEY DO NOT MONITOR ALL OUR CONVERSATIONS!!!! THEY DO NOT SOURCE OUT THE SECURITY OF THIS NATION TO EVEN ASSUMED ALLIES This is the exact opposite of what GEJ's administration is doing.

And, if foreigners can spy on your internal convos whose fault is that? Doesnt that tell you that you have a failed Govt? A govt that cant protect the secrets and interests of its nationals should be taken down and replaced with one that will.

God, they need to spend more money on educating you guys instead of using it to munch $30,000/day meals or building N16Billion mansions or N4Billion mission houses.
I don't live in denial and as such know that we don't have expertise to protect the Naija Cybe Space as at today and with time and efforts of government with developments through Ministry of Communications and Technology, that will surely be achieved. Should we then wait till we are capable in Naija before we start ? I don't think So.

I have not said they monitor all conversation and Nigerian Govt is not proposing to monitor all conversations in Naija but the ones that will pose a threat to our security. If you are a Nigerian and have the expertise, be patriotic to bring up others within the Nigerian Space and see what that seed can grow to become.
PoliticsRe: Reps Suspends $40Million Internet Surveillance Contract by PEREP: 5:00pm On May 30, 2013
Afam4evaIsASlut: NO, THEY DO NOT MONITOR in the sense that youre thinking! Did you even read what I wrote?

Of course if I constantly sent emails using direct words like "Bomb", "Blow up" , "Jihad" (or code words which the intelligence agencies are familiar with) then yes, under the "Exigent Circumstances" doctrine (when you come under their radar) they might have to start monitoring your emails without a court warrant. But, to just monitor any and every convo--- including innocent ones, then thats a problem....

Lemme give you a quick example how things work out here, since most of you thats never even experienced strolling on a side-walk have suddenly turned defense experts telling us how things work in the West:

Assume, for a quick second youre under investigation for say---being a member of a drug cartel--- when the court approves a warrant for a pen-register on your phone, they will (usually) specifically instruct the agents that any conversations not related to your criminal activities should not be monitored. Meaning, if you spoke to your Cocaine Connection in Colombia its ok to monitor the conversation, but the moment you start dialing your Grand-Mother, sister, Mistress or that stripper you usually go to meet to get your freak on whenever your wife is throwing tantrums, they have to stop monitoring the conversation.

Bro, learn your rights.
Again, you are simply confirming they monitor when it is seen as a threat which is what Nigerian Govt is working at. Should they work on getting the facility to monitor the moment a threat is established? Capital NO. I believe the cause of the Nigerian Govt to have this facility is noble and to assume the US/Isreal government do not have capacity to spy/or even spy mails in most parts of the world at the moment is NOT CORRECT.
PoliticsRe: Reps Suspends $40Million Internet Surveillance Contract by PEREP: 4:37pm On May 30, 2013
Afam4evaIsASlut: Even though I am doing my darndest to convince myself that I am not replying a Billy-Goat that has been somehow trained by scientists how to talk, I will refrain from insulting you and pretend that I am discussing with a human being.

YOU DO NOT OUTSOURCE YOUR INTERNAL SECURITY TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES THAT COULD TURN HOSTILE AT ANY MOMENT!

You want the Israelis to help you monitor your citizens emails just because you do not want to be criticized?! Wooow..... You think the Israelis will stop at just the emails of ordinary citizens? They will monitor all Govt chatter too and where does that leave you? They will know all your trade secrets, your foreign policies and defense strategies. They will be privy to the conversations of your leading businessmen and whatever will not benefit their country they will shut it down in a heartbeat through clandestine moves; its like youre whispering your secrets in the ears of the enemy---- And, yes, anything non-Nigerian is your potential enemy, clown.

How easy do you think it will be to destabilize your country for their own benefit if they feel like? What stops them from pitting politicians against each other based on info theyve gleamed from their emails then plunging your country into chaos? You really think a foreign country will work in your best interest?

Naija man, stop being myopic and think on your own. Stand on your own two feet and stop letting the unbridled hatred in you caused by your intolerance of another's tribe and religion be the reason why your nation will end up in a bloody civil war.

P.S: The U.S Govt does not actively monitor its citizens emails without probable cause. That'll be a violation of my right to privacy. We got something called the First Amendment here and thats a very sacred right even Obama dare not violate.
Do they monitor? The answer is yes but with a scared duty to avoid divulging any information that has nothing to do with the state. Can they monitor mails and communications in Naija? The answer is yes. What are we protecting exactlyhuh?

If they want to access vital documents on Nigeria, they can do it except it is not in the cyber space. let's not hold unto what is available Abinitio.

As per 'Billy-Goat' and any other names in your response, it came from you and surely belong to you originally.
PoliticsRe: Reps Suspends $40Million Internet Surveillance Contract by PEREP: 3:54pm On May 30, 2013
Afam4evaIsASlut: Ummm, bro, other serious countries do not outsource the security of their country to a potentially hostile foreign country.

Why wasnt that $40million spent on technology and training of Nigerian citizens so they could acquire the same knowledge that drunken monkey is willing to pay the Israelis for?

See now why we say Jonathan is a Donkey?
How many years will it take Naija to have that expertise? All developed countries have this service and they started from somewhere towards a date to be self sufficient.

The truth is that the facility is as essential for the security outfit of Nigeria as every strenght and might they are capable of pulling.

I am very sure American government have installed capacity that can spy our emails as at today. 'Techy' guys in the house, please help dispute or otherwise.

There is no way a Politician can be as openly treacherous, as wantonly divisive, as callously disappointing and anti-people as GEJ is (to virtually everyone including Political colleagues and ordinary Nigerians) yet said politicians can expect to have any form of support base outside his own region which the blindly ethnocentric nature of Nigerians guarantees. We wish GEJ 'goodluck' even getting the PDP ticket in 2014.
Did you just say Anti People? The last time I checked, you represent the 'Eko Oni Baje' Clique on Nairaland
I am sure you are in Lagos and can see how everywhere is fast becoming sold to few individuals with thinner space or hope for survival by the ‘Masses’. Lagos hosts the most vibrant members of the social media and as such the loudest voice of frustration has been coming from this end of the country. Almost all state roads in Lagos causes Head Ache because they are patched all over, the big boys (Lekki,Ikoyi,Ajah) themselves are paying daily tolls which must not be challenged or they are bullied to high heavens, water plants are just ‘nearing completion’ after almost 16 yrs of very stable democracy of Lagos, 4th Mainland is still been planned after 14 years, LASU is a no-go-area for the lower end of the populace, Multiple Taxation everywhere, companies are folding up due to harsh business environment and multiple bills from many agencies of Lagos , you have to pay for almost everything except air in Lagos and kept wondering the exact responsibility of Lagos government to Lagosians. Someone even said LASTMA was given a target to deliver certain revenues sometimes and you can imagine a Police force with target to deliver part of Govt revenues.

PoliticsRe: Rotimi Amaechi Has Been Suspended From PDP by PEREP: 1:59pm On May 27, 2013
Godman_n: PDP should finish the JOB.

Let them suspend Kwankwaso, Babagida Aliyu and Chime of Enugu. Why are they deceiving themselves? The die is cast. PDP days as a political party is quickly coming to an end.

By the time they suspend all the rebels that is coming from the North (Every PDP member from the North wants the Presidency back to the North while my Igbo brothers are just oppurtunist waiting the Jump the winning team), there will be left only Niger delta members, substantial Igbos that cannot read the hand-writing-on-the-wall quickly and scattered members that can held together by patronage.

The fear of Buhari divided the north into two during the last election. If APC can solve this (as they seem to be doing), I see the remnants of Northern mafia, Tinubu western gangsters of Yoruba land, and Buhari loyalist, including Obasanjo who has fallen out with GEj coalescing to spell the end of PDP. I do not see GEJ surrendering the PDP ticket quickly.

While I would have preferred a two party system, I do not see PDP surviving as a political party one they loose the presidency because the party is mainly opportunists who are held together by the loots of our land. remove the loot and they will scatter.

Let keep watching.
The Ekiti and Osun elections of the SouthWest will show the number of possible loyalists PDP can still garner. The road to 2015 will be interesting.
