PoliticsRe: Buhari - No Difference Between Boko Haram And Niger Delta Militants by phineas: 11:23am On Apr 02, 2013
Insurgency, militancy, terrorism, all are synonyms in words and in action, any serious goverment must not tolerate any form of lawlessness for whatever reason. That been said, this militants that have been appeased with funds they fought for on account of the "people" what have they done with it?

I was priviledged to visit some cities in the niger delta region recently and understood the level of poverty, and lack of infractructure the people have,it seemed they lacked industries hence job opportunities and one gets the impression of a sleepy town not the hub of "oyel" wealth of the nation. What have they the millitants done to change this?what schools have they buidlt, hospitals, jobs created, etc....how have they brought development to their towns from the gains of holding the nation ransom for years at the cost of blood and terror.Instead we hear of private jets,of weapons,of affluent and exhorbitant lifestyles,of investments abroad.....

Boko haram and mend, none is better. They were both raised to glorify lawlessness,to strike fear in the hearts of the people, and any sane, patroitic Nigerian should condem not reward or condone such especially those targetted against the common good of the people and the progress of the country.semantics people, semantics.
FamilyRe: Secret Exposure, wife Unknowingly Dating Her Husband Until They Meet At The Hotel by phineas: 8:27pm On Mar 25, 2013
the woman is to be blamed. You dont add a man u dont know and flirt with him when ure married.Faithfulness takes discipline and practice.

The husband on the other hand should beg her sha,if temptation must come,it should not have come from someone so close to home, from the one you should ave trusted the most to look out for you,its just pure evil and with that act of immaturity he has suceeded in wrecking his own home.Wife, not gf.What kind of man is that? and what has he achieved by that?

PoliticsRe: 'My Oga At The Top': Wife Protests At Channels TV' by phineas: 9:17am On Mar 17, 2013
The wife has no right to talk publicly on this matter other than to apologize on behalf of her husband and appeal to the nation. Her duty as wife is to support him thru this trying period and raise not pull down watever is left of his self esteem, same with the children. If anything happens to him its their fault not the nations fault

Frankly I'm tired of the culture of impunity in Nigeria. Its possible she didn't do it,but for it to be entertained as permisble is appalling. Its like military wives bullying civillians saying I'm the wife of group captain,so wat?

All those saying the devil and issueing threats,in Nigerian style-back to the sender, imagine ur lifes been run like Nigeria.

Don't you all get, this is not about comandant shem.It should be a sober momment for those who choose to take it seriously while appealing not threatening the youth to tone it down.

Simply put,the Ogas @ the top have messed up the country. The youth found a voice to criticize it in humour/not violence and u try to stifle it, you dare insult the collective pain, and anger of the people...ask urself how hard its is to save 250k on ur 120k salary, extrapolate it to the unemployed guy, also pic the millions, yes millions that did not get the opportunity...and then ask why did they ever think it was ok to part with that money for employment, ask urself again why would anyone think of swindling someone that vulnurable, ask again could anything be done about all this?,who could address it?what did they do?,only then can you almost start to graze the matter...

The oga @ the top issue is everywhere.no matter how simple the stuff u want done is u get reffered to an oga @ the top (including answering a simple question on recruitment),some oga somewhere is stifling the process and we have come to accept it as normal.

I do not support mocking my enemies, but it is the system we mock not the man.The one that leaves its children unfed in the sun,the one where the ogas get a quater of the national allowance, where their kids get all the contracts, where homage and bribes is the culture, where the main man does not give a dam,the one that makes pple cry the country inhabitable, making us call strange places home. The system has failed us,and finally we have a collective voice to call the oga @ the top out on it.Its not done in violence, ask tunisia, ask libya, ask egypt, its done with sarcastic humour...I think we should let the people be on this one,Maybe this will make us and the Oga's on top start to address due process in the way we handle things In Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: 'My Oga At The Top': Wife Protests At Channels TV' by phineas: 11:03pm On Mar 16, 2013
Naptu where do you get your resources? May ur ink never run dry.

To the matter @ hand, its no longer about the comandant, really, its simply passive aggresion on the part of the Nigerian youths to the high handedness of the prior generation. Its anger @ failed governance, stolen opportunities, broken dreams, unmet expectations, inapproriate bullying by....let's say the powers that be.

Have you ever lost a position,a contract,a bidding,an idea,an opportunity because of frustrations from the "powers from above" now known as "the oga @ the top"

Someone articulated this unspoken truth in the system,(maybe unintentionally) and every Nigerian youth recognized it,identified with it,and displayed their anger, passive aggression @ the oppression styled in humour.its more than a failure to remember a site, its about the culture of hubris, that in Nigeria there's a glass ceiling, always there by an Oga @ the top and that is what the people rebel @,not rejoice @,its passive aggresive, and its unfortunate the comandant became the mascot for it.

In Pr when an error has occurred, the first thing is to admit the mistake, explain how it came about, explain what has been done to correct it,and explain further what steps are been taken to ensure it does not occur again in future.I think the org should focus on doing that on the job racket scandal,it will be nice if they used the comandant again, with or without a PR person this time while he answers questions on operational issues. That may redeem his Image.

But on this oga @ the top matter, sadly it exists, and in acknowledging it publicly by all,has come to stay.

Jokes EtcRe: Hilarious Photos Of "His Oga At The Top" (NSCDC) by phineas: 1:31pm On Mar 14, 2013
The issue was simple,People where swindled to part with money on fake sites recruiting for the organization. In asking the representative of this organization to come on air with appropriate information to shed light on the matter and to prevent such occurence in future, and him unable to provide the correct website address for recruitment purpose,(the main topic of the interview session)....The journalists were polite for not telling him then and there it was not good enough,it was not fair to the citizens of the country, and it showed absolute disregard for the plight of the unemployed graduates who had lost money for him to come to the show without the needed information to make it right. The journalists where simply doing their jobs. Please note again the title of the interview session.

RomanceRe: What Are The Reasons For High Level Of 30 Years+ Single Ladies In Nigeria? by phineas: 9:31pm On Mar 01, 2013
Add genotype and no social life.I know lots of morally grounded good single ladies like that, for them life goes on they don't sit and cry.seeing this thread my heart goes out to them, they obviously have no love from society.

Lastly add failure to take responsibilty that abounds with the male folks castigating blames and pointing fingers.

One mans trash is anothers treasure,to thine own self be true.

The guy sang vulgar lewd lyrics, thats his claim to fame, how exactly does that make him a hero? or a model to the upcoming young ones.

Lets uphold our social values, let us collectively criticize and condem wrong, empathy for the weak yes,but not celebrate the mundane, wrong or outright evil, the younger ones are watching, they are been influenced by what we celebrate, and one day we all will be accountable for every seemingly loose word we utter even on nairaland.

lets always be slow to judge.she's 18,delivered of an unwanted child, abandoned, alone and most likely poor with some postpartum depression. Its possible her mind broke, its called inasnity. She should get a psychiatric Hospital with rehabilitation not jail. The real issue here is psychiatric with no avenue for her to give the baby up for adoption.

FamilyRe: Being A Nigerian Housewife by phineas: 10:42am On Jan 30, 2013
In Nigeria,a woman must not be a housewife. The future is too uncertain, there is no provision by the society for the unemployed, not to mention unemployed mother of four.in the case of unforeseen emmergencies, like The husband can loose his job, die,or simply divorce her at 40 from boredom that happens a lot,she gets no alimony in naija. For those saying to get a job,get real.where does she start @40? with years of no experience, remember its Nigeria.Customer care agent?or a 30k job.
EducationRe: Female Hostel At Medical School Idi Araba (LUTH) - Pictures by phineas: 12:28pm On Jan 22, 2013
And wat has the goverment of his excellency president GEJ got to do with this?much as I,m a pro buhari advocate, ill be sincere and put the blame @ the foot of the school management.Luth as a whole is not maintained by their admnistration.Compare luth and UCH and see the diff by far,With internally generated revenue and donations from alumni and others, the administration of UCH has continually maintained and embarked on new projects with no government input.compare their student hostels the diff is wide.one man per room free internet services,tv subscription and other things to make their system conducive, with regular maintainance culture.compare with lasuth where their rooms have ac's and well furnished.so to see any institution falling apart and blame it on GEJ is failing to take responsibilty by in this case, the students and the school authorities.
HealthRe: Is There Such A Thing As An Early Life Crisis? by phineas: 1:06pm On Jan 09, 2013
Everyone experiences stressors at diff points in life, but having a healthy mind, not breaking under pressure or fear for me Ive learnt comes from having a postive attitude in all things, been hopefull for all things, having a good support group and not been afraid to ask for their support emotionally when needed and I must not lie,My faith in God that everything will turn out fine.

meanwhile on depression, the three main signs of depression,
Low mood,
Low energy
Loss of interest

Low mood-extremely moody or sad for known or unknown reasons, may cry for no exact reason.

Low energy-Feels tired, not really related to activity, just tiredness within.not having the ability to be excited enough to do anything.

Loss of interest-especially in anything he/she used to enjoy.eg football lover not been interested or having enough energy to watch the championship,u may call it boredom.

if one checks positive for all three,or at least 2,consider seeing a doctor.the others signs they say revolve around those threesigns. That said, its also noted that a good close friend you can talk to in the initial stage is as good as a psycologist but when that fails,to see the doctor.
PoliticsRe: What Does Buhari Intend To Do With Presidential Power? by phineas: 4:58pm On Jan 08, 2013
Insincere Nigerian,if you loved your country, you would ave seen a point or two in favour of the general.A leader without a godfather.I believe strongly he is the transition needed btw the governance of the old and the new.think about it what young person even as president as the clout, backing and invisibility to stand against the cabal in the corridors of power?is it fashola that has not stood up to tinubu succesfully that will dare obj?or is it Ribadu that was feathered out of office?General Buhari is that bridge needed for power to pass from the old to the young, after he has cleansed and restructured the system, after he has broken the backs of the cabal and ensured a system that works.pray tell, what better candidate do you have? Sincere Nigerian.
PoliticsRe: What Does Buhari Intend To Do With Presidential Power? by phineas:
What will general buhari @ age 70 do with power.

Start with what he did with power in his youth.did he serve his country, did he put her intrest above self, did he plunder the wealth of the nation....for those who say integrity and the fight against corruption is overated...the words of the british PM "if corruption and mismanagement of funds going on in Nigeria had happened in the history of the Uk,the Uk as we know it today, would simply not exist".

He bothered to make a manifesto that was specific time bound and realistic.
On reducing the cost of governance, does anyone really think GEJ has performed in this area better than buhari would ave done?Imagine what Buhari will do with the FOI bill.

Buhari with power will cause a change in the status quo, because he dares to be different, corruption will be a crime with him not the order of the day.Imagine a contract awarded for a road once and the road is buildt, imagine spending less on feeding in Aso rock,on decorating the VP's mansion,on promoting the PIB,on farmers phone, etc,Imagine accounting for Abacha's loot,Imagine parastatals not duplicating costs.Imagine cutting down the cost of governance and this funds at the hand of a leader tested with money in his youth and did not fail.Imagine the new Nigeria.

Then ask your question,What will Buhari then do with power.
FamilyRe: Why Do Women Hate To Marry Traditional Men? by phineas: 9:58pm On Jan 07, 2013
Traditional men exist, they are brought up to be traditional,to see women as inferior.a lady once said her Inlaws told her her job was to bear kids for her son when she married him,she went ahead, they came in told her how to take care of their son up to the way they prefer his kitchen and house arranged, eventually he started beating her for not dropping her pay.point is if your parents raised you like a princess, and you choose the lineage of slaves in the name of love, the choice was yours to make, dont complain.

Nigerians and their armchair criticism, was any of the tabloids there?for the record,UCH ibadan has a team with multidisciplinary specialities on every case needed, meaning all needed specialities would have been seeing her daily. Its unfortunate the confidentiality clause stops the medical team from saying their parts all the time, but to say she lacked access to specialist care @ UCH ibadan Nigeria, trust me ther's no better place she would ave gotten it in naija.

RomanceRe: Why Do Nigerians Prefer To Marry The Rich? by phineas: 1:28pm On Dec 22, 2012
vivian chinaza: I'm from a very humble background or should I say poor? Yea poor sounds like it, "humble" just makes it bearable, Lol, ok. But rich guys keep coming for me, and no one has ever cared about my family's financial/social status. In fact, that's the first thing I tell them, I'm always like "dear, don't let my looks deceive you, I'm from a very humble background o." I'm Vivian, and that should be enough!
So contrary to your opinion, majority of guys don't actually care.

A lot of ladies who have misplaced their priorities actually care about how rich a guy is before they consider him and I just pity them. I just hope they realize that the life of a man is a mystery. A man's life can change in a twinkle of an eye.

I'm friends with a lot of people who at one time couldn't even afford a decent meal, but just one phone call changed their lives for best, and vice versa.

100 likes for this,simply beautiful.
Last year, I did a job for this couple that had no house. The groom is my friend and as at then the most valuable property he had was his laptop. In fact, when he told me he was getting married I was like "are u crazy?" Cos he didn't even have a house. Few weeks to the wedding someone gave them a room in his flat and they were squatting there. Whenever I went to the house to discuss their wedding I was always like "how could this girl get married to a man that doesn't have a house?" Honestly, I couldn't understand, I couldn't even think of myself doing it. Well, there marriage is a year old and they are now living in one of the beautifully furnished house I have ever seen.

Stories like this humble me, and I of all the things I have seen in my few years on earth, I have known that riches cannot be guaranteed. I have also known that life is a mystery.

So if you fall in love with someone from a rich background good, if you fall in love with someone from a humble background good too. Marrying a rich person is not a crime, marrying a poor person is not a crime either, provided that LOVE is the driving force.

I agree with the OP.We should celebrate our firstlady and treat her well however imperfect she may be,(except where matters of grave negligence or judgement affecting the common good is involved which has not been the case).

Its a basic tenet of society every woman should have taught her son at one point or the other to respect women.plus she speaks the niger deltan way. That said,Im wondering what percentage of people who criticize her have mothers that speak better english.keyword,percentage.

playmode: .

So while in you live in your fantasy world of self deceit and political masturbation,i dwell in reality and say it as it is. Obasanjo ,Babangida,Buhari ,Jonathan and the other cretins can't die soon enough. The damage these animals have done to this nation is evident for everyone to see.It is will take a new breed of disciplined, dedicated, honest,no nonsense, non sentimental, non tribalist young, professional, clued up leader to take Nigeria out of abyss that it is in.

Look around you ,read up on the same history you claim to know and see how the unwanted "contribution" of these men has been selfish and destructive for this nation as well as it's people. We are still feeling the ripple effects of their actions. They laid the foundation for corruption, military indiscipline, lack of service delivery, nepotism, hubris and total anarchy.

The all live in opulence courtesy of stolen loot while the average Nigerians is barely able to eat once daily.Tell me how did Buhari make his moneyhuh Please tell us what he did to become wealthy, give us a detailed analysis with dates of how he built his empire if you are so certain that he was never a corrupt man.Surely if you idolize him so much ,you should be able to give a credible explanation as to how he became rich considering that he was a soldier.
Buhari may have made mistakes in life,I dare say which man has not,but not at the detriment of the collective good of the people.

Has the nation fared better under any rule since his days?
Under him Nigerians were most disciplined (we still follow his templates till today),there was accountability(Imagine 5t dissapearing without a fuss),he had zero tolerance for corruption and ostentatious displays of wealth,He crushed militia groups,he was non tribalistic (development was nationwide in every geopolitical zone),you would know this of cause,
But your hatred as made you myopic,no blind.
The former president whose daughter went to primary ,secondary and tetiary institutions in Nigeria, public schools for that matter,She delivered in a General hospital,Not abroad. How many of us will allow that for our loved ones and you accuse him of unfounded wealth based on what?

You're probably one of those who cast sentimental votes putting nigeria in the delima it is now.Do us all a favour next time, just sit @ homewith your myopia.Trust me Nigeria needs the likes of the General to sweep corruption, complacency,Godfatherism and flagrant disregard for the rule of law from the corridors of power, only then can the young idealistic visionary leader we hope for ever get a chance at the power to make it better.

Ps I'm not a northerner, and I believe there are many more Nigerians that will stand with him across all geo politcal zones home and abroad come 2015.
