marlockj:An example from my last post is a fellow such as this referring to women, as "junks".JUNK! Like if a white man called this retard junk he will scream racist from the rooftop, but its OK to address some women with the singular indiscretion of having children with the wrong kind of men junk. And that is the trend davido and co are leading for generation next. I hope Mr Momodu does not settle for anything less than a public apology for Sophia, full custody for the baby with supervised visiting rights for davido and ilk, and a decent child welfare package while at it. |
So when davido hooked up with her he did not realize she did not have a job? He saw her extravagant lifestyle he still stayed for years, got her pregnant and now, he's not "an ATM"? Paying for child welfare does not make a man an atm, its actually the woman and her child's right.Shebi he's an american citizen, they should sue him in the us for child welfare and he will know how much he'll end up paying every month. What I find worrisome about this matter is how this celebrities dictate what obtains in society, it won't be long before some retard starts thinking this scenario is permissible. To treat the mother of their child like trash, malign her reputation after all nothing will happen. A society is defined by how it treats its women and children, the matter is simple like that. The Adelekes have not been honourable in this matter.full stop. |
This baba should take a back seat.over sabi overbearing busybody Nigerians.whatsoever his qualifications this is not his area of expertise, as such his expert opinion does not count. Its important I make clear I do not know either of the parties.but what I see been played here is the Nigerian culture of use and dump which I detest with a passion. So the issues. 1- The adeleke family wanted the baby and they schemed well 2- The baby was "collected" from the mother because the baby developed breathing problems from breast milk infected with marijuana(so marijuana na infection now abi) 3- The mother has not been breastfeeding this baby since July and the breathing problems still persist requiring a "breathing apparatus" every night and further consultation with Drs abroad without the mother, because the problems were "caused by marijuana in the mothers bloodstream" ![]() 4- let's not forget she's not good enough to marry so let the grooms family just take custody of a child less than 7 yrs from the mother because shes "unfit to take care of her" she cannot bathe the baby well, or use the breathing apparatus well as instructed. The issues remain who declared the mother unfit to care for her child? And Who is elligible for custody next. Does marijuana in the bloodstream routinely lead to breathing problems? How many children have been isolated from families because the father smokes cigarette ? Nicotine is a poison too after all ? and a drug of addiction. Can the davido clan prove conclusively the breathing problems was a result of marijuana in the baby's blood stream from the mothers breastmilk, secondary smoke perhaps, if so why does she have this problems 6 months after isolation from her mother? Who is still smoking around the baby this 6 months.Remembering URTI are the most common complaints in children of this age group till age Five. Protocol has not been followed in this matter, justice has not been done either. Davido has abused this woman's reputation on allegations that appear cannot be proven conclusively. The only proof he has is she smoked weed at some point - a criminal offence he conveniently brings up. and like it or not that is not enough reason to render a woman unfit to care for her child. And should she be unfit the next in line for custody should be decided by the court. What the davido crew is doing is cruelty to the mother of a child he refused to marry. That is my definition of wickedness and injustice. And All the holier than thou team will do well to take a backseat. I still insist the role the hospital /lab played in this scheme should be investigated thoroughly. |
So its okay for her to be tried in the courts of public opinion while she sits in a corner maligned crying till pic fades.... This lady is doing the right thing, on this matter. Personally I'm curious as to what the lab,(lab and not clinic) has to say about why and how they released a patients confidential information to the wrong person, 2- why the staff at the "clinic" thought it was appropriate to give counsel that a baby should be taken from her mother) because she "smokes" marijuana.the cause of all this troubles Who gave that medical opinion? And through what channels.Who also told them the "breathing problem was a result of exposure to marijuana smoke" and a nebulizer was a "breathing apparatus" to be used every night for months even after removing the baby from the source of the "irritant" (supposedly the smoke from the mother. who gave all this opinion knowing fully well how common upper respiratory tract challenges (putting it in laymen's terms) is common in this age group and how they mostly outgrow it from age 5 and above. But most important who advised the baby be removed indefinitely for treatment abroad from its mother for these reasons?because we all know that is so not the right process or approach to the matter, just another bunch of unprofessional judgemental oversabi hospital crew giving a situation their unprofessional moral grandstanding that has led to the abuse of this woman, the dearth of her privacy, and reputation on this matter. They should not slap just the clinic/lab with a lawsuit, but all individuals involved in the clinic/lab found culpable in this matter.the specific individuals that said "take the baby away from her" gave seriously wrong medical advice. This case should be the example for future loose lips in practice that no one cares about their personal opinions or moral grandstanding in family matters and the need to stick to protocol. Lastly I hope the lawyers do full justice to this case and not settle outside courts as they continue to update the social media space on justice served, seeing how she sophia was charged, judged guilty and sentenced on social media, so people learn you cant get away with crap if the woman takes it up. she has enough evidence to prove damage was done to her person as a result of this negligence hence the lady should have her full day in court and justice served to the culprits while the whole feedback is highly publicized on social media too.To save some other woman the humiliation in future. PS -how far with the child kidnapping aspect of the story? It is indeed kidnap |
I must add if you are a graduate searching for work useful skills include basic proficiency with MS word and excel at least plus or minus some basic graphic design for reporting .People get employed for what they can do these days and not their certificate. this is the most helpful tip I can give anyone, All the ladies should quit learning makeup artistry or gele tying in school and just pick an excel sheet and be proficient (if they are serious about a career that is). Entry level stuff be sure to mention it at the interview too. Any graduate that cant use this basic packages is unemployable. Harsh truth but it is what it is. |
This kind of posts sadden me because its information like this people see to peg and slash salaries in future. For the record there are lots of jobs that pay over a million monthly in Nigeria.my advice is don't just do any job, build a carrear. |
This thread is about kids giving to other kids, its a good thing to be celebrated and per adventure those kids come online to see feedback in Nigeria these are not the kind of comments they should see, Seun or any mod should pls do something about the negative comments. That's responsibility. |
God bless you and yours Sir, Congratulations. |
lest I forget apparently Nigerians have not heard of stockholms syndrome ba? issues like this make me weep for our educational system,so she kept a vindictive diary for years to wait till his father contested before a fake breakdown? we are so eager to believe that version than to see a broken soul from misadventure and abuse at the hands of the person she claimed to love. If anything we should use this case as a rallying cry for the way we treat young girls in our soceity. That the girl you pass around to your friends as a joke is been destroyed daily, you are infact responsible for the making of a broken person and that in exploiting her weakness, her poverty, you leave behind persons that become like sugabelly deep inside. That when a teenager in her youthfull exuberance, poverty or greed throws herself at you,an honorable person does not take advantage and he definitely does not abuse that person. In this these accused men allegedly did what many Nigerian young men do,what they saw the previous generation get away with, and if this girls outcome is not cause enough for quiet reflection, then men like that have their own waiting for them.but as a soceity we must not stop raising eyebrows, They say it takes a village to raise a child. our children, our teenagers are a collective social responsibility.Their safety and future is sacred, because that determines the future we have as a people, the norms and cultures that become acceptable. So before throwing your stones at sugabelly, just stop for a moment and ask can this be true? If there is a benefit of doubt, pls put down your stone and be silent. |
great Job @ seun for allowing your platform keep @sugabellys case going in the courts of public opinion. Sadly thats all we may have for justice on this case and the alleged culprits have been judged by many but Heres my take on this and I usually refrain from commenting. From this womans comments on twitter,The wife of the alleged rapist(yh its rape when there is any form of coercion) is just plain stupid.Theres no other word for it.This was the time to exhibit tact and restraint. To sound magnanimous and empathic, she should have swung public sympathy her way by emphazing she does not condone acts such as this, she stands on the part of truth, empathize with the broken sugabelly and ask everyone to leave the courts to rule on the truth whislt asking for respect for her families grief at this time.Like the okereke sis did. But what did she do? she came out raging and cursing out an obviously broken woman and in public for that matter A woman that accused her family of been bullies actually animals is more like it with no conscience. In that I criticize her (Zahra) her foolishness, her lack of tact (Yes she had the effrontery to attempt to dignify that too) ,her inhumanity, and honestly sheer stupidity. if there be any consolation in all this its that the sugabelle has had her day in the courts of public opinion, this nonsense Zahra too and Posterity will judge. |
This is a bad thing to do to anyone even if he stole, they ave forcefully robbed him of his dignity,Reducing his chance to incorporate normally into society after serving term for his crimes. For those supporting this gruesome act, pray ur own secret sins and weaknesses are not discovered and exposed in a way to humiliate you in future, because that is what you have sanctioned today That said the perpetuators of this crime should be caught and given a tough sentence to serve as deterents to others that may think its acceptable jungle justice in future and before some illbred southern dudes promote this nonsense subsequently. |
depressedsoul:If your epistle is true, then remember that as long as you have life, everyday comes with new opportunities, also remember a lot can change in a momment, Ive seen that over the years so I know. don't loose hope, pray God defends the helpless so long you look to him for help, keep telling everyone you know you need a job, something will come through. |
Why put a woman through an HSG when she has not had an challenges with fertility? That's simply put cruel and any Dr that writes the test ought to be fined.Because such a woman will not be able to stand for herself in such circumstance and the practitioner has the responsibility to prevent that abuse. That said even when all the fertility tests come back fine, up to 20 percent of people may still be infertile.so its not by tests. |
@ Seun and OP This post is irresponsible for 2 reasons, A- by mentioning the fathers full name on nairaland we have exposed the identity of the said ladies. B- The image was unnecessary, as simple as it may seem, it could glorify and possibly imprint this evil on the mind and to do list of another pervert somewhere, Please let's stop sensationalism, let's not applaud or celebrate evil in any way. |
Why does nairaland celebrate women bashing so much? One begins to wonder if these men were raised with women in their lives at all, why all the negativity. But I believe its a reflection of our society at large and indeed it is said you can tell how developed a nation is by the way it treats its women, children and disabled. Going by these dime a dozen threads glorifying the negatives and weaknesses in Nigerian women thereby villifying them weekly on nairaland, we know we still have a looong way to go in Nigeria. And to Seun, I say you underestimate the power of your site, that by allowing and promoting this trend you entrench this culture of women abuse on the very pages of this site. And by this , you do the nation and its future a great disservice sir.Just an observation |
So here's my rejoinder to this piece. Those criticizing this accomplished lady on the grounds of not been married you'll find to be pple who excuse their inaccomplishments or generally small lives with been married. Yes, they are those those who made marriage a priority realizing little accomplishments thereafter and so will be quick to promote this "major achievement" in life rather than face the truth that one cap does not fit all and everyone is responsible and at perfect liberty to choose what makes them happy So next time you see the "where is her husband" comment , just note its the marker for a small minded, unaccomplished, most likely less than average income earning, unsuccessful, unfulfilled Nigerian whose only major accomplishment in life is that marriage as such would want to force it on others to excuse his or her low self esteem in life. They ussually end up marrying retards cos they must marry at all costs and by all means and they'll rather die in the marriage than accept its not working. Dreamers, visionaries, those with the right kind of attitude will tell you happiness comes first, and one cap does not fit all, they'll tell you life is about making a difference, about impact and contribution, They'll also not be quick to dismiss success with lack or refusal of a person to get married cos they know what it takes to be succesful, they know it takes sacrifices, hardwork, dilligence, patience and careful consideration with key issues of life such as location and marriage amongst others and they respect peoples decisions as regards this virtues and issues. That said, God bless Linda, the 10kobo bloggers and their success stories should thank her for leading, this lady is a good example in Nigeria, and we had better celebrate her than the mediocrity of been married but useless to self , family and nation at 35. Many happy returns Miss Ikeji. |
Bjergtrolde:You need to take a back seat on this topic, You obviously have zero clue of the daily workings of the Nigerian Hospital. That same bed space on the wards have other equally severe cases waiting to be admitted. No bed space is no bed space sad but that's it.You do not take responsibilty for a case you do not have resource or ability to manage no matter how emotional it gets, you stabilize if u can and refer. Nigerian tertiary centers are overwhelmed, the no bed space matter has been recurring since and still no new hospitals, I'm a Dr in Nigeria and with my "connections" I have had 3 critical close patients rejected for no bed space in Nigeria I understand I move on quickly to find alternative centers for care. Nigeria needs more tertiary centers perhaps we should just break it down to more hospital bed space for patients. |
An opportunity to look critically at the health system and proved solutions... No its health worker bashing first.Makes us all feel good I guess till the next one happens. Tertiary hospitals in Nigeria are not enough hence they are overwhelmed. A quick thought. We do realize majority of theses hospitals we boast of were colonial period projects, meaning they were made to cater to the population then how many new tertiary centers have we put together in our states since then? No bed space means a lot.It means the theatres may be fully booked as well major and minor.Anyone in Nigeria tertiary system knows surgery booking list can be as long as 2 yes for this reason and all sorts of emergencies keep the emergency section full as well. I agree the nurses could have stabilized, give IV fluids and blood perhaps called the Doctors to attend to her on the "couch" or floor as was suggested till some reprieve and way forward was found but for how long do we want to continue that. Engaging the leadership in dialogue is the way forward, and the people must do so with a clear understanding that the Doctor is not obligated to do beyond the scope of his calling. Meaning a sane medic in a sane soceity will not accept to manage an emergency patient such as tgis on the floor totally not acceptable. |
And we complain foreigners treat our people badly, this is precedence been set. This is definitely not a dignifying way to respond to lateness amongst supposed professionals. Fayose is a tout, Ekiti people are grovelling cowards with a massive inferiority complex, lack decorum and I suspect dignity. All infered from this picture. You see they watched as these people were debased and did nothing. Fashola tackled lateness in Lagos we saw no pictures of people grovelling and kneeling, grown adults for that matter. And we expect people to treat others better with dignity the hallmark of a civilized society , this kind of rubbish and Ill treatment will continue to trickle down in Ekiti mark my words....their tout of a leader as set the pace. |
Dr Bashing.... Nigerians favourite. Its unfortunate the practising ones been sacrificed on the altar of public opinion rarely use social media hence do not defend themselves ,the confidentiality clause also restricts them from proferring their sides of the story NMA really has to address that. Now my contribution to this case and a few others and I'll say it as it is.... No's 1,that grieving patients lie. Whether from the denial stage of grief, to the anger stage or watever other personnal vendata ish reason they ave, most Nigerian patients with all this horrid stories ave grief tainted tales hence it common sense that it cannot in any way be accurate. Same as a lie. No's 2 , if you're not a health practitioner you should take a chill pill till you have the full facts.Because u can be certain there's so much at stake in the final decisions affecting life/ death in every case and till we've scrutinized them closely this shaming and blaming of health workers is plain irresponsible, unproductive behaviour that makes the nation loose confidence in its health system instead of addressing it to make it better,it also leaves bitter health workers who simply dump their sthetescope and hike. Now 3,that every health system that's strong came from a place as bad and sometimes worse than ours that strengthening a system involves taking a critical look at why and how we make it better not demonizing workers. Now 4, that this seeming harmless bashing is having its repercurssions ,young doctors are leaving by droves.who wants to practice where ure underpaid, devalued abused and vilified. That said.... Nobody transfuses at 27% except under very very rare circumstances, that an exchange blood transfusion is required in jaundice with high values which the baby that died probably had, that no bed space is a norm in Nigeria.I have had to refer as far as uch ibadan once instead of parambolating Lagos for space, that every doctor has given beyond his call of duty in Nigeria, yes every doctor .we are trained to do so and the system is run with a no excuses manner, that's the only reason we get results ingenuity beyond the call of duty, extra hrs ,working outside our jurisdiction, and yes we give our money all the time ( would u watch a child die because parents can't afford 500 or 2000 naira antibiotics?,or fever continue unabated because no pcm of 100 naira, or refuse to give iv drugs cos no canulla)that sometimes centers dont have methylated spirits and basic necesities from no funding ,hence asking for a functional ambulance is certain places is OYO, that most hospitals we still glorify were build in the 1960's for that era and standard and we have not added enough to cater to our growing population, hence no bedspace....I could go on..... And that's a few of the truths in the industry.that the community should engage the system at the level of productive dialogue asking, what are the problems how do we make it better rather than this unproductive bashing that achieves nothing. |
notoriousbabe:Actually nothing, I repeat absolutely nothing will happen to those airlines till anyone, even if its just 1 of those passengers file an official compliant. Its like you slap someone on the road,if he doesn't press charges sure free to walk and that here is the problem Nigerians did not press charges instead they decided to get violent and became the wrong ones. I'll cite an example with Ghanian passengers,if there flights get delayed the airline is obliged to provide food and drinks then accommodation under certain circumstances.they know their rights and they go to the right desk and report asap and get the matters redressed.its like efcc if no one presses charges they can't come investigating..... Transpose here we hiss shout rudely stand on the tramac and now vandalise properties, no complaints registered so nothing done to the airlines. That said its important I point out I have no affiliation to NCAA but I can defend them cos I got the mail on guidelines, regulations and processes on passengers rights 2ce and I don't travel so often so I assume every single person on that flight that as ever travelled by air in Nigeria before that incident got the memo... So what more do passengers want? |
Bollinger:I am not preaching to a mob,I am preaching to any relevant authority out there reading this, that precedence has been set in reckless conduct by passengers at Nigerian airports without regard to the rule of law, and the safety of our airports. A man reportedly stood on the tarmac recently stopping a plane from taking off, another group of disgruntled miscreants attempted to enter the pilots cockpit(they could have been charged with attempted highjacking of a plane and banned from flying in Nigeria at least) and now this. This time blood was spilled.Ignorance of the law is not an excuse, because you see there are processes already instituted to protect passengers from all this but Nigerians don't make use of those channels. So I hope someone, anyone uses the CCTV to address this matter and bring the perpetuators of this act to book.their judgement must be broadcasted to serve as deterrent to others in future. |
If this report is true the perpetuators of that ugly situation should all be picked and prosecuted, assuming the CCTV camera is working. NCAA sent out a memo to passengers on what constitutes an offence by the airlines and the proper way to address it. The passengers could have reported to NCAA at the airport, they could have sued aero they had other options to manage this but resorted to violence at an airport.... they should be picked to set examples. |
Do we have official speech writers at all? I doubt it. |
Tanoids displaying classic stockholms syndrome, that's the one where the abused is sympathethic and loves his abuser and takes his plight as normal.... A leader is meant to serve,a good leader must be Humble as Ameachi as demonstrated. That's How to lead especially in a democracy, its not have your "master" Lord it over you as though in a feudal system where you worship the Leader and call him Lord etc. Anyone can do a google search to show the same british pm riding a train, carrying his own bag etc,you all see nothing wrong with that but find this odd? Stockholms syndrome. Just so Haters know this picture is actually a good example. |
My recomendations for the military, its not everything that requires force and bullying to achieve when it comes to dealing with the "civillians"... On the media/PR war,the appear to be doing not so well, and it stems from a lot of proir passive aggression against them by the populace not getting expression, However this can be demoralizing at a time like this as this is the time the military needs the support of the people its men are dying for. I'll recomend the military PR department start a project to launder the image of the nigerian military at home and abroad, america went as far as creating captain america during the war,PR and media has always been a tool that's developed u just don't sit on ur oars and hope for good press,nd with the advent of social media it becomes a more detailed task.I would ave expected pple employed to raise topics on this very nairaland and pass pro military comments on them with the dedication some have to buhari andMr President, sponsored adds on blogs, support the military events and things of that nature, its a diff war, itsd more subtle and its deff not about who has the loudest shouting voice, its who has the better strategy. Kudos to the Men of the military,a lot of Nigerians Salute you all at this time.I salute you all too,Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
The word "slaughtered" as used here is inhumane, Animals are slaughtered, the word reduces the gravity of the event. Humans are Murdered, which is a serious crime in certain climes punishable by death. |
juman:Let him go and arrest Fayose first, they think the immunity clause is a joke, but then this is Nigeria,he got away with harrasing the speaker didn't he? |
Arrest a Governor, did he really say this? Does he have any knowledgeof the constitution he swore to protect? They ave immunity, like it or not, they cannot be arrested.the constitution is written to put tyrants like this in check. |
Let's paint the picture clearer so you get it, Let's assume Mrs Patience Ebele jonathan calls for Donations for the noble cause of safeguarding and feeding 3 million internally displaced persons at this time how much will she be able to muster?(the 4b request from the senate for banquet hall/house to host visiting first ladies quickly comes to mind) and who are those who will donate? Assume again Mrs Buhari makes this call for donations to this worthy cause,u know if I knew when she made this arrangement me sef would have donated to her cause, bring zahra to make the request and my donation will triple. These are good people, that have shown leadership in crises to a worthy cause, this is what a first Lady does, she leads by example, not endorsing candidates all over the place, To all beefers of this woman on account of this good deed, like the op who called her evil, Abeg park well,(May haters of this noble deed not get help in their own time of need say amen! Why are u quiet now, mumu) |
I believe a lot of people read this pages,so I'll put this suggestion here. We need a special unit/force for kidnapp cases in Nigeria.Presently Nigeria has 1 of the highest kidnap cases in the world, and the truth remains that statistic was based on reported cases,we know most families don't report but negotiate and pay the ransomes quietly. So the true picture would may place us as the highest kidnap zone in the world.... Its time we had an office/ agency specially kitted, funded and run for kidnap cases only,I'm sure should an office like that request for volunteers pple would turn up to work for them for free so manpower wouldn't be a problem. But to sit and hope the same innefective police would somehow be equipped to serve this prpose overnight is asking for too much, its refusing to place value on the life of our citizens especially the most vulnerable, children and women and laslty if we can do it with the NDDC why can't we do it for kidnappings that has become so rife in the nation. |
Onegai:I was waiting for your rejoinder and I am not surprised,2 things: Firstly I cannot and will not discuss the issues and challenges of this profession with an untrained mediocre. It will be like discussing physics with someone in crèche with the antecedent hair pulling and name calling too, or trying to explain economics to an IQ below 70. I hope You understand me clearly.. 2ndly bring one of those your esteemed consultants (who by the way are my colleagues) to read your write up so far and comments on this thread. If they are open and have the time for an online discussion to corroborate your opinions so far,Then we may be able to achieve some measure of progress. That will be all (till then) (and in case you missed it) this post means I'll leave your foolishness for anyone reading comments and enlightened on this things to decipher.... |
