No, one person braved it to go get the baby. Really it was a terrible experience. We didn't bring out a pin. They even donated underwears, that's to tell you how bad it was. My sister was pained because of her certificates, university and NYSC. Me just my clothes and pictures, especially pictures. I had quite a collection cause there was no single day I didn't take pictures on campus. Looking back now, we just laugh over it. Even then, we joked about it. It was 1999, I remember my friends joking that our house wasn't millennium compliant, that was why it was razed. Thank God for life.

The Fanti Carnival was going on from street to street, there was a procession of happy people dancing and all.

Our apartment was right next to where the fire started. I wasn't even home, just my kid brothers and sisters. Our parents have traveled to celebrate Christmas in our village. My big sis too wasn't home. That was how the entire building was razed, as in totally razed at Christmas.

The fire was fast. It had caught all the ceilings, so when people rushed in to pick things, the ceiling was dropping on them, they had to abort the mission. We didn't bring out a pin from the fire. We had just the clothes we were wearing, no pants nothing. I'm mostly pained about my pictures. All the childhood pictures, those memories gone.

People in the neighborhood started donating stuff ranging from clothes to food, to money. We became destitute. Our parents had to cut short their trip. We slept with friends, family etc for about 3 months before we got our groove back. I had to return to school a week or so after the fire incident. Before then, I moved in with my bf now hubby. My dad had to cough out money for new clothes apart from the normal semester expenses, my bf too. I came back after the semester to a new apartment.

Since then, you'd never see me use that thing, Never!

The problem.

Constantly, we were having issues upon issues, I accused her of cheating, not paying attention to the needs of the relationship. She spends 23/24hrs on social media (FB Messenger, WhatsApp and TikTok). On several occasions, I cautioned and complained, but my complaints resulted from issues to issues. I sat her down on many occasions, advised her on the need to be a woman rather than a girl.

She's good with words but not a doer of her words. She keeps account and memories of misunderstanding. After settling issues, she records and safe-keep issues in her memory. During misunderstanding, she calls my family members to report and complain, rather than call me to settle issues. She rubbish me before her family members (she get first class for that one), while I sing her praises to my family members. I don correct her tire, but no way. Na a norm to her.

The Breakfast.

I have been friends with my male friend for over 11years now, so he is more like a brother to me! He got married 3yrs ago, But we live in the same district, I do visit them once in a while! And I usually bump into his wife at market places, malls or on the street due to the fact that we live in the same district.
