naijadeyhia: Let me put it this way. First of all there is no error with God! Both good and bad bacteria are for a purpose but the bad bacteria was not meant to hurt man in the first place as the first sinless man (Adam) was meant to dominate and subdue the world but when he sinned that order was removed.
However just as a man would create a harmful substance and include a "caution" to it and alsl create an antidote so did God do in Christ. Which was why I used my own life as an example. Christ in me and his word believed = no sickness.
Explaining it to you is something you would not understand until you receive the samd Christ then you would never bother about bacteria ever again. If as a believer I have been stung by a red scorpion and nothing happened is it bacteria that would phase me?
My genotype is JC bro. You should try it. Good. You have said it like a Christian. Sin is the culprit . Case closed. But ,.. but what about plants and animals? What was their sin ? |

mrteee: Now you see how you've exhibited your hypocrisy. What's the point of the article if not to "demarcate" the issue of "silence" in the SW in the "last one year"? Asking why they've not been up in arms against the present government. All the pro comments (including yours) have only lend credence to the divisive intent of the article. I'm not surprised that someone of your ilk would celebrate such an article, that's what give your life meaning.
And even though I've not insulted you in any of my posts, your insults in your last 2 posts shows the type of character that have. I would resist the provocation to stoop to your level of trading insults. Like BRF quoted "When you wrestle with pigs, you both get dirty but the pig enjoys it". Enjoy. It's either you still don't comprehend the op, my first response to it, or we have a case of cognitive dissonance here. For the records, most of my heroes in our long struggle for democracy, justice and the rule of law are southwesterners. People like the the late Gani, the late Bola Ige, the late PA Adesanya, the towering Wole Soyinka, Femi Falana, Ms Obe, even Bola Tinubu, etc etc. So , stop playing that ethnic hate card on me. Now, I and I'm pretty sure many others, are surprised, curious and worried why the ever vigilant southwest Intelligentia, except for the deceased heroes, have capitulated, pacified , even dine and wine with feudal oligarchs who are not even pretentious about their objectives. If you , in your infinite wisdom, regard the thread and my posts on this thread as insulting to you, then I am in a fix whether to say " I am sorry" or " too bad ". Stop the posturing. Stop the whining. I think if southwesterners and southeasterners put away hypocrisy and political correctness to sit down and chat with honesty, the fortunes of this country might actually move in a positive direction. |

naijadeyhia: So now you hold brief for cloudgoddess? If she was properly schooled she would not have put up that post. Disease causing bacteria is only a handful and they are known as pathogenic.
Good bacteria far outweigh bad bacteria. Why did she not ask why God created good bacteria and not disease causing bacteria? Answer is simple. She is simply trying to fault God with anything and that is called clutching at straw.
God is not stupid bro...far from that...Bacteria is part of our existence. We need bacteria in our daily lives.Bacteria are both harmful and useful to the environment and animals, including humans.
Same bacteria yoi claim is disease causing is the same bacteria that also helps humans to avoid getting the disease- the normal flora for instance.
In soil, bacteria is very much important in nitrogenous compounds conversion known as nitrogen fixation. This serves to provide an easily absorbable form of nitrogen for many plants, which cannot fix nitrogen themselves. The ability of bacteria to degrade a variety of organic compounds is remarkable. They play important roles in the mineralization of specific classes of organic compounds as in the decomposition of cellulose and without these plants there would be no oxygen and without oxygen where would you be?
Bacteria, often in combination with yeasts and molds, are used in the preparation of fermented foods such as cheese, pickles, soy sauce, sauerkraut, vinegar, wine, and yogurt. Using biotechnology techniques, bacteria can be bioengineered for the production of therapeutic drugs, such as insulin, or for the bioremediation of toxic wastes.
Could you imagine what will happen without bacteria? Would it be possible to live without bacteria? Though we want to get rid of those bacteria, we have to acknowledge as well that we need bacteria more than what we know so God isnt stupid....her question is. My friend, you still don't get it. Everyone, especially cloudgoddess, understand the functions of bacteria in maintaining the ecosystem. Even if it's just one single bacteria that causes pain, destruction and death to human life, that is still one too many from a religious faith point of view. Did God create this one bad bacteria to punish humans? Was it a design error? Was it Satan that sabotaged God's perfect work? Or, as Joshthefirst would say, Adam's din muted the good bacteria into the bad bacteria. Stick with the relevant question, and try to answer it. |

The deafening silence of the SS and the SE during the inglorious 6 years of the past administration was not vexing to you, yet you lot come and spread hate and bile, and when we say thanks but no thanks, you come with insults. Leave the SW and let issues of the SE vex you enough to rally for change in your immediate constituency. Crying more than the bereaved is not a virtue my friend. You're displaying extreme ignorance if you think there is a such a thing as a " SE issue" or a " SW issue" . I thought SE and SW were in Nigeria. You're a very very small thinker if you demarcate issues into SE issues and SW issues. I guess the OP was not for small thinkers like you. |

If the SW decides to be silent at this time, why get your knickers twisted over that? when you guys have a truckload of issues to deal with? The OP's article is nothing but a call to hate and childish tantrums against the government. Obviously your not an objective thinker, otherwise, you wouldn't ask me what concerns me. And herein lies the problem. Your rather bellicose posturing on this simple but very valid issue dovetails entirely with the meat of the OP. Here is an educated person pretending to be ignorant, pulling out red herrings, rather than address a very vexing topic. You have unwittingly justified the OP. |

naijadeyhia: Frankly cloudgoddess went to a cheap school I concur because she lacks the depth of reasoning that scientists have and she argues with text book science and not her own research. She claims to be biologically inclined but like deepsight said she lacks knowledge of the balance being employed in nature and life.
Next time when she wants to kill a cow or a goat for her wedding or birthday maybe she should first look into the eyes of the cow or goat and ask the animal for its opinion about her...friend or foe?
All these cheap scholars everywhere! You guys, Deepsight included, are choosing to play the ostrich here. The OP query was not a scientific one, but a religious one. Bacteria, beneficial and malevolent, food chain and ecological balance makes perfect sense in a scientific, evolutionary context. No one disputes that. Cloudgoddes no doubts understands that synchronicity. However, in the context of religion and faith , where man is assumed God's greatest masterpiece and upon whom all nature are subservient, then a bacteria or virus created by God that causes harm and destruction to God's perfect masterpiece doesn't make any sense at all. Infact, you have also failed to acknowledge that the religious folks, to whom this query was thrown at , have already given their own religious answers, and have indicted SIN as the culprit. Therefore, Deepsight is better suited to educating the religious folks on nature, ecological balance and Evolution. But he dare not try to educate them on the evolutionary necessity of bacteria, because, he still hasn't been able to fit and synchronize the theory of Evolution into his own worldview. Thus, he instinctively lashes out at the one who asks the question, rather than educate the ignorant religious folks. |

It's been difficult to raise this particular issue in a public forum without being perceived or branded an ethnic bigot.
I am glad that someone finally brought this nagging question to the spotlight without all the accompanying hate speech and derogatory comments.
Yes. Something has definitely happened to the southwest, and whatever it is, it's certainly an ill wind that would bring Nooo good.
In just 4 yrs, between 2011 and 2015 , the the southwest rebranded an erstwhile colorless, unelectable satan into a shinning Messiah in silk robes, and have gone further to WORSHIP this self created Idol far more than any other person in the southwest.
I always stand in astonishment when I hear some of the most ridiculous defenses my very enlightened southwest friends put up their new Messiah. It completely boggles my mind in no small way.
Their attitudes and behaviors are akin to a religious Cult.
And Bingo!! That might be.
What I suspect is that apart from the Tinubu factor, the REAL factor that gives them that cult-like tendency is the Redeem Church Factor. The Redeem Church -Pastor Osinbajo- Daddy Adeboye factor. The choice of A Redeem pastor close to Adeboye was the cleverest political move ever by Tinubu.
You see, this is something I have lamenting for a long long time. The mentally debilitating influence on IQ and rational thinking by religious cult leaders and charlatans like Adeboye and his army of brain surgeons in Nigeria in general, and the southwest in particular, are now coming home to roost. As a man thinketh, so he is.
The Adeboyes, the Oyedepos, the TB Joshuas and their likes in the southwest, apostles of magical and irrational thinking, have turned much of the southwest into a big vegetable farm.
Now, I am not insinuating that the southwest has lost their towering brainpower. Not at all. But for some inexplicable reasons, they seem completely subdued for the moment.
I have never in my life seen the southwest Intelligentia so silent, so docile in face of absurdities and evil, after seeing them as the champions of social justice and vigilantes of democracy and the rule of law for much of my adult life.
My dear southwest friends, please wake up. Nigeria and future generations need you to be awake at this trying times. |

emmasege: One wonders why the Mallam now wants to cry more than the bereaved. It's this sort of thing that exhausts the little mental strength of the old man, which should have been used to revive our economy. Of what relevance are the murderers of Bola Ige to this sick nation which Buhari wants to strangle to death? Has a court of competent jurisdiction not acquitted his targeted political enemy in this case? Does this man know that OBJ, the then c-in-c was a very personal friend of Late Ige and yet refused to fish out the murderer? Can he be more concerned than OBJ? This is why one can easily conclude that Buhari is truly a dullard who can easily Be manipulated by anyone that suits his interest. We all know those who always exhume a long buried case so that they can ridicule their main opposition figure in Osun state and silence him.
Be it known to Buhari that the nation's economy demands urgent attention and that should be his priority at the moment rather than exhume a 15 year old murder case.
But should the old man decide to expend his fading physical and mental energy on Ige's case, he should extend same to the killer's of a governor Lagos never had (Funsho williams), and more importantly the killers of 2011 youth corners who were murdered by Buhari's foot soldiers in the north. Nigerians should not fooled by this gimmick. This is just plain old political brinkmanship. Mr President us simply telegraphing a message to someone or some people. It's a subtle threat, a blackmail of sorts. I have no doubts that those for whom the message is directed have gotten the message loud and clear. |

Most diseases are man made.
For God has given man the power and dominion. Talking about power; which knowledge and wisdom (how man apply knowledge)
When man misuse his power circumstances are bound to occur.
This is the reason why we have scientists (knowledge God has given us) to tackle these problems.
You don't expect God to come down from heaven to get things fixed. He has given man the dominion to rule over everything, it's now left for man to make use of it (brain)
Have you ever heard of the phrase "we treat but God heal"
I believe in God and i rely on science. Kindly give us a list or at least a partial list of man-made diseases, and also the ones that are not man-made. Most Nigerians are smart at the wrong places, an aspiring president of a country ought to have a portfolio before being elected. Buhari has no portfolio neither has he achieved anything. There are loop holes everywhere in the Nigerian political system.
Kemi Adeosun mentioned some of these but they overpowered her, they just put her there as a representative.
Wat a shameful country, a useless country, a country where the President doesn't have WAEC certificate and you expect the economy not to cripple. A country ruled by thugs and thieves.
A country where 98% will say Yes to brown envelopes Nigeria politicians should be very ashamed, they have nothing to offer, they don't even know what to offer. I read a post by Yemi Osibanjo challenging Nigerians to provide a solution for smart energy, is he hallucinating or what?

I have seen this country go through many political phases, and it pains me sooo much that it's deja vu all over again. Every negative thing,. ethnic divisions, religious divisions, NEPOTISM , hypocrisy and corruption at the center, Despotism, ASO Rock being organized and run like a medieval court, etc etc. When will we ever learn, when ? Nigerian politics and religion share so much in common,.. Soooo much irrational beliefs. For example, just as it is irrational to believe that a white God loves black Africans , same as it is to believe that a barely educated soldier with a medieval worldview, with no history of articulating a single vision, let alone achieving any, can steer a 21st century multicultural and multi-ethnic Nigeria to progress and prosperity. We might all as well pack our things and wait for rapture. The irrational belief in a Buhari presidency is as irrational as any religious belief that I have encountered. |

The problem with Nigeria and most of Africa is the failure to build strong institutions that continue to function irrespective of who is at the center. Just 2 yrs ago, Nigeria had a robust economy. Today, just after change at the center, everything is crumbling. No continuity. Only a dumb person, a very dumb leader , would seek to destroy all positive legacies of his predecessors just to justify and legitimize his own messiahship. |
