So on Thursday Northbird and Lush were having views about the Aboki's, while I kept my view for better perspective. I don't regularly pick the northerners, but on dis day, I got a request from Musa, called him and he asked me to "Be coming", funny me! Drove down to PU, notify and he told me his coming... few mins after arrival, I got a call of where r u (wrong location), he called another street and make me understand he's outside, waiting and d babariga he's wearing, so I totally felt it's going to b easy pick up (just look out for someone waerin babariga). Back and forth the street, can't find Musa, now we r both getting agitated, throwing blames on each other over the phone and if he should get another driver, till someone took his phone and gave me d right PU. On getting dia, he hopped in and as I was about to propel, he apologise and pled for a stop over at any pharmaceutical store to get pain reliever as he hurt is knee on his way out, immediately sometin struck me to ask, is ur destination right? He blab for seconds and ask me to talk to the person he's about to meet, lo and behold, Oga! Was going to d Island from Ikeja ard 3pm and wot I picked was Bariga me; Kolewerk, I bill him 5k, if I must embark on such trip, which he decline and ask me to take him back to PU seeing the traffic situation as well. Las Las, after the whole drama and loan of 500, which I don't usually give to rider, but there's this strangeness of relating wit an Aboki, which I don't get often on dis job... he asked how much should he send on getting to PU? And I told him, whatever crossed his mind, since it was effort in futile for both of us, he sent 1300, the money got reversed and he was the first person dat called yesterday to notify me about it, need to send my account for resend. Wow! As much as crime knows no boundary, an average Northerner have the fear of God in dem compare to any tribe. Good morning fam, fruitful day Pope wish for all. |

mrjaydee: Omo if you cant get to the island before 8am this days just forget it and work on the mainland.
Funny enough going back from the island to mainland is very free.. Boss if u don't get to island on time now, I think it's better to call it a day, working on the mainland when Ikorodu road is block, MBA is block, Opebi block and u can't use 3rd MB to link yaba... yesterday I have a 15 min pick up while chilling for traffic to ease up, but due to the fact that the trip will get me closer to home, I decide to pick, 15 min on map, an hour in reality. It is well Just wish Indriver drivers will have some sense |

Kamikaze42: My few experiences in my 1 month driving with only Uber.
1. I ride on my way to the office (Lekki to VI), going back home and then weekends. I have done 128 trips (Trips request: 303, Declined: 78, Cancelled: 16) 2. I am currently on 4.81 rating ( 5 Star: 65, 4 Star: 4, 3 Star: 1, 1 Star: 2 (No Nose Mask)) 3. Total net earnings: 130,524 (Including fuel) 4. Got a tip of $30 (#14,250) from a rider rushing to the international airport 5. Still struggling to get #4,900 from a woman I also took to the airport but with issues on bank transfer (Jaiz to Zenith) 6. Met different kinds of people, mostly normal. The rides are usually silent with only radio as I do not talk much. 7. I am already developing lower back pain and my odometer reading is just rising at astronomical rate.
How would you rate my 1 month report? You need to buy matches, 359 degree can not make a complete circle, 60/100 so far

emmancecute: who was in traffic on friday from island to mainland. Around 3:40pm I got a trip to amuwo from VI. I knew there was traffic but I just wanted to leave the island before it got terrible... for my mind! I picked rider and we embarked on trip. gmap showed me a route to link Carter bridge using Lagos island, I thought it will help me escape the traffic. I was on a spot for over one hour while my AC was blasting. I later decided on turn back to go use eko bridge but immediately I got to the bridge, I discovered my car was overheating. I quickly looked for a place to park on the bridge while I opened the bonnet to allow he engine cool. I added water to the radiator after a while but the engine temp rose again almost immediately. I managed the car to cms bustop and parked in front of first bank. I discovered the fan wasn't working even with the AC on, so I used my wheel spanner to tap it and it started working. while I was doing this my madam rider was in the car requesting another rider but drivers were rejecting her destination for obvious reason. 1. terrible traffic, 2. festac area at night. I was still fighting my own battle when she opened the door and started leaving without saying a word. As a sharp guy, I knew she wan Japa with my money having used 3 hours in traffic, my 2k fuel was almost reaching its initial yellow position. I quickly locked my car and advanced towards her. me; Madam, you just left like that. it does not work like that rider: sorry, I came to look for a cab cos all the rides I requested were just cancelling and I wanted to give you money but it must have fell me: Sakamanje, money you didn't give me before leaving the car. she later got a driver, maybe my guy was heading home and stays around festac and was like ' send me your details so I credit you what I have. trip was supposed to be 3.5k but she paid 1.250k. I just laughed. That's why drivers must have sense in this hustle, riders don't care so I see no reason to care. my frustration was not even the money cos I don't expect her to pay the whole fare but atleast a show of concern. for drivers using indriver, learn to use Google map to check the city before accepting a request. the App isn't good for traffic so don't do fastest finger at the expense of your pocket. That traffic was terrible that traffic from Ojuelegba to d entrance of Awolowo Rd, my heart goes to any fastest finger on that day... even the rider I have with me ask to take him back when he''s done wit his activities on d island I was just nodding my head ohk, but deep within, I see how unfortunate he must have been to request for such, dropped him off and find a nice place to sleep till 9pm. |

tojahh: Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Nairaland Electoral Commission (NEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.
As I have always affirmed, nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any Nairalander. The unity, stability and progress of our dear platform is more important than anything else.
I congratulate all Nairalander for successfully going through the process of the November 16th General Elections with the commendable enthusiasm and commitment that was demonstrated threadwide.
I also commend the Security Services for their role in ensuring that the elections were mostly peaceful and violence-free.
Meanwhile, we haven't seen the end of this, we will always do what is necessary to ensure we get our people's trust., in doing this, I urge the electoral body to be truthful and committed as the foul plays and flaws experienced in the last elections will not be accepted.
The world is watching. America is watching. AU is watching. Come off it, u dat kan not win ordinary class captain is talking about election, who you?

peeps4u: I dont want to be a bad belle but I dont think sirleke deserves to win this scanner. No one knows him, he claims to be a silent reader but surprisingly he was the most active NLer going from threads to threads all yesterday. Anyone that doesn't even have a car can just come and campaign hard like sirleke, wins the scanner and then sells it. No one knows sirleke antecedent, no one knows if he's a car owner or driver.
But since Raudautoworks didn't put any condition that Would prevent this, may be he has to win it. I believe next time will not be like this. Boss I feel we should stop hitting on a man for working hard or should I say passionate for what he want either he deserve it or not. Life have tot me to work around what I want, if you must earn it. On the political ground, he deserved it, on input to the uber platform, he doesn't... What are the rules again? If there are no rules, then let's laff over this and just catch d cruise. I said it yesterday that I'm not in for nomination (Maybe cos I can think as having it, if I so care) and I still feel same way, but life most not b about my opinion, so I flow with majority, Salam! Salam!! Is the paramount thing at the end of the day. Let me share a summarize story of when you truly need some tin here... A motivational speak brought out a note of 1k and ask his listeners who need this money, while others were shouting me! me!! Someone stood up and rush to grab it from him, that shows how desperate d grabber needs the money. No one just sit and allow things to fall on his or her laps, if u truly need something, then fight to earn it, thats what I see Sirleke doing since yesterday. Peace Next time if the uber group really want go easily on dis... there's some tin called mobilization, u don't do it openly, kara someone u know to kara the person he/she knows under G, before u know we don rig election |

Felicity0001: This Democratic challenge I suggested is actually winning it when compared to the other challenges. Now, condition for this challenge is "nominate... Who you believe deserves the scanner"
If we are to interpret this clearly, electorates are/should therefore be 1) A bonifide member of NL 2) Should/must know the person he/she is nominating to know that they deserve the scanner.
Now, a candidate has clearly stated he doesn't know anything about the Uber thread and also, I've barely read where anyone has stated he/she know him to either be a driver to a car or own one, therefore I do not think such a candidate deserves this scanner.
All of these people casting their votes can they defend that clause in the challenge statement? "Who you know deserves the scanner"
