Deluxii: I was even amazed at most people saying Kwarans are not yoruba I can't imagine kwara people reading this and they won't laugh at you guys. Back to the matter it is the the zoning of the political sphere that made kwara state to fall under North Central but ethnically and historically Kwara belong to the Yoruba lineage and nothing can never ever change that not even the geo-political zone. This is a fact, I have kwarans as colleagues, even as inlaws and I believe we all have kwara indigenes around us you just walk up to anyone of them I tell them they are not from Yoruba heritage lolzz! I bet you won't like the kind of reply they will give to you immediately just because they hate it when people disassociate them from Yoruba Kingdom. This is a fact just ask any kwarans around you and you will know how far lolzz! Saraki family.
Not Kwarans as a whole.
Oloye himself said they are Fulani from Mali.

Or simply because Oloye himself was an important person and the name came to be associated with an "important personality".
Which of the Yoruba dictionaries can you recommend Sir?
How come it's only this family that is "known" with this "important" name? |

Politics › Re: Bukola Saraki Is The Senate President Of The 8th NASS by porka: 11:24am On Jun 09, 2015 |
kaybams1: The truth is APC actually showed uncommon political maturity. They realised they made a miscalculation by conducting a primary for the senate seat- an act that led to uprising and PDP wanted taking advantage of. They saw that all PDP just wants more than anything isn't the senate seat, but spoiling the goodwill and reputation of APC. The chess players in APC saw this and decided to outsmart their opponents. They know in politics, reputation and public perception is everything. They saw that the dent in their name will be higher if Lawan is forcefully inaugurated. So they played the fool and made a hard decision of begging every Ahmed Lawan supporters to sheath their sword and allow Saraki be the Senate president just to send a message that APC is truly a democratic party that elevates peace over any other thing. Its the opposite message PDP wanted the public to see so that they can use it as their political campaign in the future. At the end, it was a checkmate - APC won again. It doesn't make sense.
APC conducted a mock primary to select a "sole candidate" for the office of the Senate President.
In spite of the warning that it is unconstitutional and against any common sense to do so, they went ahead threatening everyone.
They thought they were dealing with some Lagos and South West cowards who are owned by a single man.
APC refused to present its sole candidate on the day of election.
That's massive defeat there my friend.

A typical woman's way of reasoning.
They always consider temporary set back as the end.
So the APC with a 2 week old government but currently showing deep and potentially intractable crack is now considered a political Eldorado?
Is the APC itself not coming from oblivion?
This same woman would be back to present her myopic sentiments when APC is facing its own issues, which it is bound to face, either now or in the future.
Men are advised to run from this type of women who are only interested in success and despise temporary setback.
Even Nuhu Ribadu who is just in his 50s is listed here as being in oblivion because of Tinubu's party that is riding on Buhari's temporary victory?
Did the ACN/APC not rejoice then when Ayo Fayose too was labeled as a finished politician?
How can anyone living in Nigeria begin to fantasize about Bukola Saraki going into political oblivion at 53 just because he might not win a senate presidency in June 2015?

mapet: Bros,
My sentiments exactly.
1. Personally I don't jump into conclusions, just because someone made a statements. Much still when we've not verified with facts. 2. A key thrust of Buhari's wishlist to be discussed with G7 leaders is security. It makes sense that Shetima be on the entourage, to give a vivid account of events, since he predated Buhari in the history of current engagement with Boko Haram and will come in handy in discussion on security. 3. The president has the perogative of choice of the members of the team in his delegation 4. The military command center has been relocated to Maiduguri, aside from offering condolences, there is little for Shetima to do in Maiduguri and his absence for a day or two is not out of place. 5. I think Ben Bruce is showing some naivity, diplomatic, strategic and politically. Obviously this is not comparable to Jonathan's shoki dance in Kano when Chibok girls were kidnapped.........at least Buhjari and Shetima are doing something about the situation..........
Ben Bruce should STFU....... Oga, you people are just indicting this your dullard president everyday in the name of making excuses for him.
Sometimes one wonders whether you guys actually reason out things you post here or they are mere emotional outbursts.
As the president, Buhari receives the deepest intelligence and security briefings every time. All the 36 states governors combined do not have the kind of information Buhari currently has on Nigeria's security.
Some security reports on Boko Haram that Shettima will never know are in Buhari's possession.
What then is this argument about taking Shettima along to 'explain' to their masters as the governor at the centre of the insurgency?
What does it mean? Are you saying they won't believe Buhari's own version? Are you saying Buhari is not coherent enough? Are you saying Buhari is too dull to 'explain' things clearly? Is Buhari not in the best frame of mind to articulate his 'wishes' to their masters? Is he sick or too weak to withstand the physical rigors? Has he been lying to them that they would need a witness before they believe what he says?
How does it sound in your ears that a state governor is in the best position in matters of the country's security than the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces. What then is Buhari's job description?
What exactly is that explanation? Is he going to narrate the history of Boko Haram to them? Are you aware that Boko Haram terrorists are all over Nigeria and not limited to Bornu alone?
They could as well have taken the Chairmen of the affected LGAs if we have to follow your logic. |

Amazo: People like this just don't get it that the Buhari government hasn't been installed to run another stereotype government that comes in to patch things up here and there but most things left untouched, undone or in a worse state like the PDP has done for the past 16 years. A horrific cycle of vision-less leadership. No, the Buhari government has been installed by we patriotic Nigerians for a complete overhaul of the old ineffective system of governance and rebuilding of a new better functioning system. We don't want a quick fix that gives us a false perception of progress in the short run but gets us nowhere in the long run. Rather we want a permanent solution that will stand the test of time and usher Nigeria to a better future. We are tired of the typical failed PDP schemes and vision 2020 projects that are nothing but abject myths that never leaves anything meaningful done.
This is not another PDP-to-PDP government transition, but a new government party entirely. So realistically, it could take about six months for Buhari's government to get their feet on the ground; but the good news is once the feet is down eventually and Buhari's government will surely run and once it starts running, I expect wonderful things will happen in Nigeria and to Nigeria and Nigerians. The Buhari government just has no other choice but to perform. REALISTICALLY?
So you "the people" know something about REALITY after all.
It's getting more interesting.
From "hitting the ground running from day one" to "100 days" it has now been extended to a "six-month-reality-show".
In a four-year mandate that is. |

LordVarys: Atiku Abubakar was the most prepared of all the Presidential Candidates, Buhari just rode on the crest of Nigeria's desperate desire for change That was the kind of assumptions that drove Nigeria into the hands of a Fulani cattle-rearer.
Nigerians cannot just admit that governance is not all about theoretical frameworks but execution (practicality).
No matter how smooth your formula is, it can't be appreciated until it has been tested or being tested.
Atiku Abubakar has never held any full executive position known to anyone anywhere.
How his "blueprints on every sector" would have translated to any meaningful thing is not clear to any serious human being, it is just a conjecture, it has no basis in his pedigree.
A similar assumption was made for the current Daura cattle-herdsman.
Imaginary assumptions, some of which are as ridiculous and as comical as Nollywood movies, were bandied about his omnipotence.
Every discerning mind would by now know that those were foolish and infantile premises.
Some of his supporters are already ruing their emotional choice, secretly regretting Buhari's ascendance, but praying he does something magical for them to have a bragging right.
His other violent herds are not interested in reasons though.
Serious people look for, select, groom and prop candidates from the ranks of middle level executives.
Those who have been tested in managing people and resources effectively at lower level are highly recommended for higher responsibilities.
No reasonable country look for saints or magicians or religious zealots to lead them, they encourage credible, fairly charismatic and godly leaders.
Neither do focused people based their lives on some untested blueprints but action plans based on past execution with strategies adjusted for current realities.
For whatever they are worth, Atiku Abubakar's so-called blueprints should at least have an example in one or two states before we can even say let's take a look at it.
No nation puts its future in trial and error mode in perpetuity. |

In the last 6 months, you people have made the state 'ungovernable' for him, even when your candidate had conceded defeat and has moved on, but he trounced you in every other way; the election, the tribunal, appeal courts, the supreme court, state assembly, federal house of representatives, the senate elections and even this unnecessary impeachment.
What is more? You brought kidnappings and an orchestrated tribal conflict, but he put your back on the ground.
Tinubu should know his limit by now, those guys in Ekiti and Ondo have names to protect. There's only so much that money can do there to compromise people. They've not been slaves to anyone before, they will never, repeat never, be subjugated.
