PoliticsRe: We Have No Sufficient Electricity To Give Nigerians- Fashola by poseidon12: 12:01am On Apr 01, 2016
mulattoclaro:
One of the reasons why I always tell people I'm German whenever they ask me where I'm from or my Nationality even though my Pops is a Nigerian. Nothing ever works in this godforsaken shit-hole called Nigeria. Wasn't this the same slowpoke who was boasting that he could give Nigerians 24 hours electricity in less than a year? Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Gabon and South Africa can virtually boast of 21 hours or even 24 hours a day. I'm not saying this cos I want to just talk but I'm saying this cos I've been to these countries and I can tell you it's true.
Don't mind the foolish minister. South Africans enjoy 24 hours electricity of course.

This Itse Sagay is a disappointment. Femi Aribisala on point as usual.
I don't see any fight against corruption. I just see witch-hunt of opposition.

This Mr Aribisala is just making mockery of himself. If at this age of his he sees nothing bad in corruption then he need to have a brain check up.
Where did you read that Mr. Aribisala sees nothing wrong with corruption?
What he said is that Buhari is not fighting corruption. He is obviously fighting his political enemies.
Look at some of the people in his government. And some of the ones that raised the money for his campaign.
PoliticsRe: Ambode Abolishes Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise by poseidon12: 11:29pm On Mar 31, 2016
Very good decision. Cleanliness should be a daily affair. We were just wasting man hours by shutting down the city for sanitation.
The government should instead reactivate a sanitary unit in each local government. They can go round the neighborhood for inspection of houses and the environment. They can then penalize defaulters.
That would be a more effective way to keep our houses and environment clean.

He did? I am not aware. How long after the massacre did he condemn the killings? How many of the herdsmen have been arrested by Buhari's government? We are aware of the arrests in Brussels and frantic efforts to arrest more.

When Kachikwu was being reprimanded, some ignorant wailers that don't know the difference between the NNPC and Ministry of Petroleum were asking why Buhari was not being reprimanded as well.

Well the man has realized his mistake, and is willing to make amends. Go and sin no more Ibe.

All Nigerians want is for the NNPC to ensure adequate availability of petroleum products, which is its core duty.
What mistake? Buhari has said worse in the past but didn't get half as much criticism and has never apologized to anyone.
He has also told us he is not a magician; then about the doing more for those that gave him 97% votes than the 5% voters; signing Nigeria into the coalition of Islamic countries fighting Boko haram without discussing it with Nigerians; many more arrogant, insensitive moves by Buhari but with little or no criticism.
The caustic, harsh criticism of Kachikwu is obviously because of his ethnicity. The average Nigerian is a tribalist.
The electricity situation has gotten worse and Fashola added salt to injury by approving tariff increase. Yet we have not heard demands for him to resign.

Thank you very much my able minister. I'm satisfied with your explanations of the hard work you and your team are putting in to permanently solve the incessant fuel crisis. Thanks to the mature gentlemen and ladies at the senate for getting the minister to open up to us. That is how it should be. When there is a problem, government needs to let the people know what it is doing to solve the problem.
I wonder what the past ministers of petroleum (Diezani Allison Madueke and Obasanjo) and the past MD's of NNPC (Funsho Kukpoloku and co) did in the past 16 years.
The senate should continue their good work by inviting other ministers to come and explain what they are doing to solve the problems they met on ground.

Listen to yourself. Hypocrisy at its best. Her sister deserves being killed by soldiers? Are you not aware of atrocities being perpetrated daily on Nigerians by soldiers? The U.S. still doesn't sell weapons to Nigeria because of the human rights violations of the Nigerian military.
If your sister was killed by Nigerian soldiers in one of their rampaging acts how would you feel when a Nigerian soldier loses his life?

Statistician, I also believe that 90 percent of those defending Buhari were anti GEJ, attacking him and calling him names. And their prayer then was for Nigeria (under GEJ) to remain stagnant so that you guys could justify your aim then. Now the tables are turned.
Shouldn't well meaning Nigerians criticize the government when it is messing up? Should we all be sycophants? Even the president himself recently admitted the difficulty he is experiencing. For now, the government is failing Nigerians and needs to buckle up.

Moreover PDP should learn that we Nigerians have started to participate in 21st century politics which involves proofs accompanying accusations and until then this accusation will just end up in the dust bin I.e the imagination of the wailing wailers tongue
But Garba Shehu admitted getting $8000. So maybe he did not get up to $800000. But he still got it through the CBN at the official rate and yet the rest of us have to go to the black market. That is corruption obviously. Or don't you think so?

It is a deliberate act to make us unproductive and import dependent .55 years is not a joke and still having 3000 mega watts , We will never be able to generate electricity We need home grown solutions to destroy this evil people.
What do you mean by home grown solutions? The main reason we are not able to get anything right, including power generation, is because we have a dysfunctional political structure. We are running a unitary system of government. If we don't fix the dysfunctional political structure, we will never get anything right. We will just be wasting our time.
No leader can transform Nigeria without political restructuring.

PoliticsRe: Rivers Rerun: Violence, Killings Barbaric, Unacceptable – PMB by poseidon12: 11:01am On Mar 24, 2016
It is the so-called security services that are doing most of the killings. And for Rivers State rerun election, it is your party members Amaechi and Dakuku Peterside that are orchestrating the killings because they want to rig the polls where they are not popular.
I am sure Buhari knows that but being the cunning hypocrite that he is, he would pretend not to know.
So it took the angry reaction of well meaning Nigerians for him to realize he has to act as a president of Nigeria.
We are really in trouble with this narrow minded bigot as president.

I hate falsehood. So we are supposed to believe that the magistrate hit her car and then chased herhuh? Naija wey we know? Where two car will hit and they will both Park in the middle of the road not concerning about the traffic jam they will cause. It is more plausible that the woman who just started driving in Jan hit her car and took off. It's more likely that she is being arrested for fleeing the scene of an accident (a major crime).
No way the judge was a witness and judge in her own case. No freaking way. Our judicial system is not THAT bad. The story, in my opinion, is being twisted for public sympathy.
Exactly. This is obviously a hit and run case.

Abi we know hear say any vehicle wet jam person for back na him buy market ooo.tis a pityyyy cry cry cry cry cry cry
First, if you have comprehensive insurance, your insurance company will fix your car.
Second, the drivers that hit from the back will be responsible for fixing the damage they caused unless they have comprehensive.
The ones that will be messed up are the ones with only third-party.
PoliticsRe: Ayade Moves To Ensure 24-hour Power Supply In Calabar by poseidon12: 6:50pm On Mar 23, 2016
ogb5:
This is a white elephant project destined to fail from the onset.

I believe the aim of the project is just to steal money. Below are my reasons

1. 15 million dollars can not build a 100 megawatt solar power plant. You will need a minimum of 150 million dollars for that at the current power plant benchmark cost.

2. Solar power plant does not generate power 24 hours a day. It stops working at night, saying it will provide 24 hours power is only meant to deceive people.

3. Any government in southern nigeria that wants to build a successful power plant will build a gas powered power plant. It is cheaper to build than solar, the required gas feedstock is abundant in the south and it is a proven technology that can be easily scaled up. Every politician knows this, any one going for solar power plant in the south is simply after the sensational headlines, while looting in the process.

I refuse to be deceived.
You might be right on your point number 1 about the cost.
But I disagree with points 2 and 3. With adequate storage, solar power can provide 24 hours power supply.
For utility scale power supply, I guess they would be implementing Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) and would probably use molten salt for storage of heat. The heat is then used to produce steam to drive the turbines for power generation. The molten salt can retain the heat for several days. So the CSP plant can actually provide 24 hours power supply. This is a proven technology that is already in use.
There is an abundance of sun in any part of Nigeria. Every state should harness the abundant solar energy to generate power. At least we will not have to worry about gas pipelines being vandalized.
This is a commendable project and definitely not white elephant.

Is that even enough to power a city?
100MW is a lot of power. They can have a cluster of 100MW around the state.
