The All Progressives Congress, APC on Monday released a song title "Atiku is a thief".

PoliticsNGR gathered that the song which makes a mockery of the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar was released via the Social media account of the party's United Kingdom Chapter.

Politics / Re: Razak Atunwa Skipped NYSC, Forged Certificate - Premium Times by positivethought: 10:00am On Oct 22, 2018
kahal29:
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State in the forthcoming general elections, Razak Atunwa, did not participate in Nigeria’s compulsory national youth service scheme, PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report today.

Instead, he procured a forged discharge certificate of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) which he submitted to the PDP to prove his eligibility for public office.

The fresh revelation about Mr Atunwa came about four months after PREMIUM TIMES exposed then finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, for engaging in similar conduct, and just a little over a month since the embattled official was forced to resign as a result of the scandal.

The Kwara politician’s conduct also came to light exactly a month after this medium reported that the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, also dodged the compulsory service, making him ineligible for public office and employment in Nigeria.

Although the minister was later disqualified by his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) from running for governorship of his native Oyo State, President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to remove him from office.

The NYSC law requires every Nigerian who attended university or polytechnic to participate in the national youth scheme for one year after graduation, provided the person finished before age 30. Failure to serve would prohibit such individual from gainful employment in Nigeria, and making false claims about serving could attract up to 14 years in jail.

Also, anyone who graduated before 30 but deliberately declined to serve has committed a crime that could attract 12-month imprisonment, even if the person did not forge NYSC documents.

Only a person who obtained a degree after 30 or served in the military or won national honours medal would qualify for exemption certificate under the NYSC law.

Mr Atunwa, born on October 17, 1969, said he studied law at the University of East London, graduating in 1992 at age 23.

Having earned a bachelor’s degree at 23, Mr Atunwa, going by Section 2 of the NYSC Act, should have participated in the year-long national service.

THE AUDACIOUS FORGERY

But rather than present himself for national service, Mr. Atunwa stayed back in the United Kingdom, returning only in 2005 to join the cabinet of then Governor Bukola Saraki in Kwara State at the age of 36.

Between 2005 and 2010 when he stepped down to run for office, the politician was commissioner at four different ministries, including Land and Housing, Works and Transport, Information and Home Affairs and Finance.

It was not immediately clear whether or not Mr Atunwa presented any NYSC document to authorities since 2005 when he was first appointed commissioner, 2011 when he became speaker and 2015 when he became member of the House of Representatives.

But to secure the PDP governorship ticket on October 1, he submitted a counterfeit NYSC discharge certificate and accompanied it with an affidavit, indicating he lied on oath, an offence that attracts up to 14 years in jail.

Mr Atunwa — who claimed he qualified for law practice in the United Kingdom after obtaining undergraduate and master’s degrees at separate universities in London — indicated in the nomination document he submitted at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja that he partook in the youth service scheme between 1995 and 1996.

The lawmaker, who is chair of the House Committee on Justice, then accompanied it with a notarised affidavit sworn at the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin on September 10. The document was attached to his PDP expression of interest form.

He signed the document despite a clause indicating he remained automatically disqualified as candidate if any statement or information he provided is found to be false, inaccurate, or mislead the party or its agents from making proper assessment of his competence to contest the governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It remains to be seen if the PDP will enforce its own rule and disqualify him as a result of this revelation. Governorship elections are scheduled to hold February 2019.

One could see at first glance that Mr. Atunwa’s so-called discharge certificate is fake.

For one, Mr Atunwa’s ‘certificate’ purportedly obtained in 1996 carried the signature of Walter Oki (brigadier general at the time). But Mr Oki was only made NYSC director-general in 2002. In 1996, Soyemi Sofoluwe (brigadier general) was director-general of the corps and signed all discharge and exemption certificates during the period. He was succeeded by S.M. Dule (brigadier general), who served as director-general between 1996 and 2000.

To further crosscheck the authenticity of Mr Atunwa’s ‘certificate’, PREMIUM TIMES compared his with original ones that bore the basics of the document, especially those from foreign university graduates.

At least three ministers who returned to Nigeria to serve after finishing from schools in the UK and the United States had similar call-up mark in their certificates, which usually carries the acronym of the institution, the state where the participant served, where the person was called up, the year of service and the serial number for the certificate.

For instance, Ibe Kachikwu, the minister of state for petroleum, has his NYSC certificate marked as NYSC/OY/FORN/82/7101. Mr Kachikwu was deployed for service in Oyo State (OY) on August 16, 1982, passing out a year later on August 15, 1983. He came back to Nigeria to serve after completing his doctorate in law at Harvard University (FORN) in December 1981.

Aisha Abubakar, the minister of state trade and industry, returned to Nigeria after concluding her masters in development studies at the University of Leeds. Her certificate is marked NYSC/LA/FRN/91/18170, indicating that she served in Lagos, after graduating from a foreign university.

Khadija Bukar Ibrahim, the minister of state foreign affairs, also schooled abroad. She attended Roehampton Institute for Higher Education, affiliated with the University of Surrey and finished in 1989. She enlisted in the NYSC on October 2, 1990 and passed out on October 1, 1991. Her certificate is marked NYSC/LA/FRN/90/28750, indicating that she served in Lagos (LA) after graduating from a foreign university (FRN) in 1990.

However, Mr. Atunwa’s certificate, rather than bear FRN or FORN (code for foreign graduates) has KWP (a code reserved for graduates of Kwara State Polytechnic) as identification mark. But the politician did not graduate from Kwara Polytechnic. He claimed he attended the University of East London for the first degree and the University of London for his master’s.

“This is the most audacious forgery since PREMIUM TIMES began investigation into NYSC claims of senior government officials and politicians generally,” Liborous Oshoma, a Lagos-based legal practitioner, told PREMIUM TIMES Sunday afternoon.

Mr Oshoma said Mr Atunwa appeared to have broken Nigerian law twice.

“Based on Section 13 (c) of the NYSC Act, even being in possession of a forged NYSC certificate is already a crime,” Mr Oshoma said. “And then we now have an affidavit that he swore to and walked himself into perjury, another criminal offence.”

Mr Oshoma said Mr Atunwa’s case was more unfortunate for Nigeria.

“You could say Kemi Adeosun did not know some people gave her fake document, and Mr Shittu was being exuberant, but this particular case is very troubling,” the lawyer said. “He knew of those recent cases and still went on to do it.

“This is amongst the consequences of the president’s failure to act on time or act at all on the already uncovered cases. Since the former finance minister was able to escape from the country without prosecution and the communications minister remains in office despite being found not to be qualified for the job, this man could easily dismiss any legal ramifications of his action,” he added.

“Since it has now come to the fore that if you graduated before 30, either from a Nigerian university or abroad, you know you do not qualify for exemption and you must serve and if you forge your document you would be exposed, I would have expected that all those who schooled abroad would start investigating whether the NYSC document they were given was genuine or not. There is no hiding place anymore.”

This is very commendable of premium times, let the law take it course if violated, but premium times must not fail to do an expose on buhari's credentials when eventually they are published by INEC!

All those shouting that fayose the rock should be jail should take note of some facts, almost all the charges are based on fayose taking money from the NSA which the EFCC claims was a crime, the onus will be on efcc to prove her claim, fayose may likely ask the court to compelled the efcc to produced the giver Dasuki in court to testify, this I know the efcc will not be comfortable with, secondly there is no law requiring the government to account for how security votes are spent, this did not start or ended with pdp,it may be a legal lacuna but where there is no law there is no offense, the law does not operates on sentiments but facts n proofs, isn't it amazing the speed with which the efcc is handling the fayose case yet the same efcc is still foot dragging even after they have been ordered by a competent court of law to go after APC chair oshiomole!,we are going to be following this fayose case very closely to see the outcome knowing fully the tendency of the APC to result to foul play just to give a fake impression of success.

Senator Obanikoro answered in the negative but promised to call the NSA and revert back to him. He spoke to the then NSA who informed him that he had a message which will be transmitted through him to Ayodele Fayose and further requested for an account in which the said message will be transferred or delivered for onward transfer or delivery to Ayodele Fayose. Senator Obanikoro then called Fayose and confirmed to him that a message will be delivered to him any moment from that time as confirmed by the NSA. He sourced for an account Slyvan Mcnamara Limited and forwarded same to the NSA, Sambo Ibrahim Dasuki. https://politicsngr.com/breaking-obanikoro-16-others-testify-fayose-full-details/
In the whole of this narrative, what I can deduce is that, yes money was transfer from the NSA to fayose, but first n for most it has to be proven that Dasuki gave this money to fayose without authorization, the APC has continuously accused Dasuki of sharing money at will but have failed woefully to proof that he did so without authority, the idea of security funds in the custody of the NSA been used at the discretion of the government without accountability even though questionable did not start with PDP n there is no existing law requiring such accountability, so fayose will argue that the money was approved for a particular purpose, the NSA will tell you he was authorised to release funds n back it up with evidence n the drama will just continue, nobody should jump to castigate PDP as even in this government of fake saints all sort of illegal monies are been raise for special purposes through clandestine means like the very blurred n fraudulent so call petroleum under recovery funds of the NNPC,this government is still holding Dasuki because they have not been able to lay hands on the evidences kept by dasuki which will make it impossible to convict the man in an open trial hence the continuous intimidation to force confession, acceptance n out of court settlement deals, but we just have to wait n see how this case will pan out,we should not jubilate too early because if fayose stand his ground lot of interests will be on the line.
Politics / Re: New Minimum Wage: Employee Can’t Fix Figure For Employer - FG Tells Labour by positivethought: 4:31pm On Oct 20, 2018
FlirtyKaren:
The Federal Government (FG), has stated that the Nigerian Labour Congress  cannot fix a figure to be paid for Federal Government as Minimum wage.

Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige, who said this when the new Director-General of Nigeria Employers Consultative Association, NECA, Timothy Olawale, visited his office on Friday in Abuja, called on Organised Labour to accept the new minimum wage proposal, considering the capacity and ability of the government and the private sector to pay.

Recall that the Labour Minister before now, said that the Federal Government had offered to pay N24, 000 to the workers. However the labour leaders who were threatening to call out workers for full strike over the minimum wage issue countered his claims, saying that N30, 000 was the amount agreed on by the committee saddled with the responsibility.

However in his meeting with NECA DG, Chris Ngige said it was imperative for organised labour to accept the proposed figure, instead of the N30, 000 in line with social dialogue and the overall interest of the nation.

“We need to arrive at a figure, which the employers can afford to pay as an employee cannot fix a figure for the employer.

“Rather, it must be based on collective bargaining and mutual agreement by the tripartite partners.

“It is not a function of moving motions or voting at the National Tripartite Negotiation Committee to insist that the figure must be as the organised labour appears to make it look.

“There is, therefore, absolutely no need to heat up the polity,” he said.

APC and deceit!,you invited stake holders to form committee n deliberate over an issue only for you to go back n take a unilateral decision then turns around to flex muscles while daring the committee stake holders, if you are really sincere why not argue your stand during the deliberations, but APC will never do this because lies n deception is inbuilt in their DNA.APC bunch of devils.

The court will eventually decide APC Zamfara state case and not INEC. INEC should stop arrogating powers of the court to itself. The power to disqualify or bar a candidate or party from contesting rest solely with the court and not INEC.
INEC didn't disqualified any candidate, they only exercise their power of ensuring that political parties held their candidates nomination processes within the stipulated time which APC clearly failed to meet in Zamfara, well let the matter get to the courts n let see what happens.

So I met some members of the family of detained ADC to Aisha Buhari and they have given me insights into how he was accused of stealing or diverting N2.5billion of madam’s money. He is still been detained at the SSS headquarters as we speak. His wife regularly visits him.

The ADC has written a statement denying allegations that N2.5billion is in his custody. But his family members confirmed to me that indeed the money is with him and he will never release it even if they kill him.

They say he usually collects money and bribes for madam as he acts as a front for her. They say he knows where all her property are because he helped her to buy some in Asokoro and Maitama for her daughters. They say she bought a house in London. He has photocopies of documents.

Madam’s ADC has a lot of dossier on her. The new DG of SSS is taking orders from Aso Rock not to allow him public access of any kind. I also met one of his colleagues who was with his family. He told me how they ran various errands for Madam & how they collect money for her.

He said the ADC has a photocopy of a house belonging to madam and other sensitive documents. One of the family members of the ADC said the ADC wrote in his statement that madam should be asked how N2.5billion got into his custody.

She told me that the ADC has collected billions and billions on behalf of madam and that she will never be able say where he collected the money from.

Madam had planned to replace her ADC because he was diverting her money, etc and he heard then decided to pocket the N2.5billion as settlement. That the only reason she reported him was because he refused to give that money.

I have audio recordings of everything including the meetings I had with them. They even took me to a house in Asokoro they claimed was bought by Madam for one of her daughters. I don’t know why the Nigerian media are not interested in the case of the ADC.

Let the media investigate the N2.5billion case of Aisha Buhari’s ADC and other related matters.

If an ordinary ADC to First Lady can corner over N2.5billion and gree die on the matter, how much do you think members of the cabal and government appointees have looted under Buhari?

Think! Think!! Buharist Think!!!
I seriously pray n wish that this Buhari/APC government of saints would be voted out come 2019 so that the true colours of buhari n his cohorts will be revealed for Nigerians to see.Let's wake up n makes sure we sent any government that fails to perform during her first tenure away n elect another until we can get it right starting with buhari, never again should allow ourselves to be deceived by propaganda n sentiments.

faroukfahima:

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released photos showing properties allegedly owned by the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose.

Spokesman for the Commission, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, sent copies of the pictures to OkayNG.com on Wednesday.

According to him, the properties were uncovered while the anti-graft agency was investigating the allegations of corruption against the former governor.

He alleged that Mr Fayose purchased the property with the money he purportedly received from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

“In the course of investigating corruption allegations against ex-governor Ayodele Fayose, especially the N1.3billion which he collected from the office of the National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki, the Commission unearthed evidence that he laundered the funds into the acquisition of properties in choice locations in Abuja and Lagos,” Mr Wilson alleged.

The EFCC released the pictures a day after the former governor arrived at its head office in Abuja, in company with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and a former minister, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, among other well-wishers.

[quote author=Transparent post=72183038]The committee, which was headed by Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, gave the Senator a clean bill of health, insisting that shehu Sani is the only senatorial candidate from the zone that is duly recognised by the party.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Appeal Committee has upheld and reaffirmed that Senator Shehu Sani remains the party’s candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 2019 general election.

This was contained in the report of the recommendation of a five-man panel, which was exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters on Wednesday in Abuja.

The committee, which was headed by Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, gave the Senator a clean bill of health, insisting that Sani is the only senatorial candidate from the zone that is duly recognised by the party.

Other members of the committe are: Mike Ugwa (Secretary), Musa Gwadabe, Reuben Famuyibo and Abdulrahman Adamu.

Following the complaints and protest that trailed the conduct of the presidential, governorship and legislative primary elections of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman inaugurated an appeal committee to look into the various complaints by aggrieved aspirants.

Some of the aspirants accused the party leadership of deliberately delaying the process as a ploy to frustrate aggrieved aspirants and make their petitions belated.

Sani’s challenger, Uba Sani, who is also a Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the Kaduna State Governor had earlier approached a court, where he had filed a suit against the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, to stop him from conducting the primaries for the Senate and House of Representatives in the state.

The Senator had distanced himself from a primary election held in the state on Saturday, where he was said to have lost to Mallam Uba Sani.

When Fayose was insulting PMB with above statements Igbos were his home base supporters club, where are they now when Fayose needs them most. Just like kanu they have betrayed him.

Very soon FFK will say, Fayose health has deteriorated more than PMB, if care is not taken he will soon die in EFCC detention. Karma is a Bitch.
See how you people give away yourselves, if fayose's insults were the issue, why not allow the police to handle him for assault or is EFCC now also handling non financial related crimes too?,but if the matter is purely financial n EFCC has built a water tight case as they claims, why not charge the man to court n silence him once n for all but I guess it's all about vendetta by Mr integrity n honesty with persons like you cheering on.

I am Innocent Of All Charges Take Me to Court, Fayose tells EFCC

The ex-governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose arrived at the EFCC office in Wuse 2, Abuja in a customised blue Tee-Shirt with the inscription “EFCC I’m here”.

He was accompanied by his lawyer Mike Ozekhome(SAN), Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode and a small crowd of supporters, wearing white T-Shirts emblazoned with “Fayose, conscience of the nation”.

Sources said Fayose would respond to issues raised by three teams of investigators.

A source added:

“He made a statement where he denied all the allegations and asked the commission to take him to court.

“So far, he has not responded to how he came about N1.3billion and $5.377million from ONSA. He has more issues to clarify; we are going to detain him.”

“There are three teams handling the allegations against the former governor. There is a special team managing his suspended trial because he had immunity as a governor; a separate team for the N4.685b ONSA fraud and the third panel probes his just completed tenure.

“Definitely, we are going to detain Fayose because he has a lot of issues to clarify.”

The agency’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren said “The ex-governor is still undergoing interrogation as at last night.”

Yes that's the way it should be,this same government has been urging people who felt a grieved by her policies like the recent EO6 to go to court, so they too should take fayose to court, after all the law allows an accuse person to remain silent until taken to the court of law, there is no law anywhere that empowers EFCC to force confessional statements out of any accused or suspected persons, since they have built their water tight case wiy all the relevant evidences prosecuting fayose successfully shouldn't be a problem, anything other than this is witch hunting, persecution, suppression, intimidation n vendetta.

Romance / Re: I Am Thinking Of Quitting My Relationship, Please Advise Me On What To Do by positivethought: 1:42pm On Oct 16, 2018
spyg1:
The reason why i came here for advice is to avoid taking a decision that i will not regret in future.

There is a girl I met at a friend's wedding sometime last year, she is 24 years and a 200L student while I am 30 years old postgraduate student but an amateur when it comes to relationship.

We started dating, at first I wasn't serious because I don't have enough money to take care of a girl, as a student sponsoring myself, I hardly have enough money to take care of her needs, she always complain that I don't take care of her which her friend's guy use to take care of her, the girl in question always advice my girl to quit our relationship because I am a broke guy and even if I get a job in future I will dump her for another lady, that I am just deceiving her, nevertheless she do assure her that I will not disappoint her, despite her friend's advice the love grew even stronger, at times she will buy me some gifts, me too I do buy some for her, having seen the commitment in her, then I started paying attention to her hoping that if things work well I will take her to the alter.

But, there was a day she called me to come and meet her at a particular Junction, on my arrival to the place I saw her exchanging phone number with a guy in car, upon enquiry, I discovered that she did not know the guy before, then I left home quietly she later called and apologized which I accepted.

Another time I called her around 10pm and I discovered that she blacklisted my number, she did this twice which I confronted her and suggested that we should quit, she begged me and cry for Africa then I accepted her back again.

After that, sometimes she will not pick my calls in the night and the following day she will giving excuses that she was sleeping, her phone is on silence or she plugged in her neighbors house etc, I started withdrawing from her, she called me one day and started crying that what her friends were advising her was true, I was just using her, I am just like other guys, she know the reason why I am doing this, is because she asked me to go and see her parents bla bla.

To fast forward the story, she login her Facebook account on my phone and she forgot to logout, when I went through her chat I discovered that she use to give people they meet on Facebook her phone number and according to the chart I discovered that she met one yesterday, I also discovered that she is still having an affairs with her ex.

Note: Anytime i call her to come to my house she used to come.

I feel like quitting the relationship but because of sympathy and I don’t want it to look as if I disappointed her. Honestly I am seriously confused, now my question is this; is it wrong that I went through her chat?

Second, what should I do? should I confront her? or should I quit quietly?

Pls I need your sincere advice, insults are welcomed. I will appreciate if the modulator push this to the front page.

PLS IGNORE MY GRAMMATICAL ERRORS
It's clear that without money this your relationship is bound for the rocks,my candid advice is, compose yourself call her n inform her that after due considerations taking into account your financial constraints n academic pursuits, it's better you amicably ends the relationship n let her move on in earnest, don't be abusive but be calm n very firm.

Politics / Re: Ekiti Debt Profile Hits N120bn As Fayose Bows Out by positivethought: 7:51pm On Oct 15, 2018
Ecstasy154:
The debt profile of Ekiti state which was N117 billion at the beginning of the year has risen to N120 billion.

According to a document forwarded to the debt management office by the outgoing state government, the state incurred additional debt of N3 billion between March and June this year.

In September, Kayode Fayemi, governor-elect of Ekiti state, had raised an alarm over N99 billion debt incurred by the administration of Ayodele Fayose.

The DMO had said the debt profile of the state, going by available records then, had increased from N18 billion during Fayemi’s era to N117 billion, under Fayose’s watch.

But Fayose had denied the claim, saying the debt of Ekiti is pegged at N59.5 billion and that it was incurred by Fayemi’s government.

However, in the document forwarded to the DMO Office which was seen by TheCable, the state’s debt profile rose from N117 billion to N120 billion within three months.

The components of the debt, according to the document, shows commercial bank loans pegged at N2 billion, federal government and state bond of N18.2 billion and N3.5 billion respectively as well as budget support facility of N16.9 billion.

There are also a salary bail out of N9 billion, excess crude account of N9.5 billion, commercial agriculture loan of N163.4 million, contractors arrears of N2 billion pension and gratuity arrears of N22.2 billion.

Others are salary arrears of N8.3 billion and judgement debt of N95 million.

Fayose secured the approval of N10 billion supplementary budget from the state house of assembly, a month to his handover billed on October 16.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited him to its head office in Abuja.

https://www.thecable.ng/ekiti-debt-profile-hits-n120bn-as-fayose-bows-out/amp

Look Fayose has categorically said if anyone said he took a loan or debt that person should show record of transactions, show us evidence of the loans fayose took, not this disjoined crab, which one be judgment debt, salary arrears n so on again?, is this how the debts if other states is structured or this is just a desperate attempt to contradict n paint fayose bad?,thank God fayose is around n he will surely speak out for himself.

Dannyset:
It is a big joke to see an Elder statesman would fall for this social media gimmicks of Atiku restructuring Nigeria. While am not against his advice, I still think he should know that it is not the sole responsibility of the President to do that.

To begin with, the National assembly as at today, whether we like it or not is indirectly controlled by Saraki and Dogara even before they defected to the PDP. And these two from the on set have been against this government policies. So, those clamouring for restructuring should have taken the advantage and start through them(National assembly). Saraki himself even made mockery of Atiku openly, saying those promising restructuring should not be trusted as they can't do it without the legislative arm of government.

Another point is, Buhari cannot be bullied to do what is not his agenda simply because one failed party is fielding a candidate that is taunting some people with what is constitutionally rigid to achieve.

My own view is, if you want restructuring, lobby your Senates and Reps. Let them fly bills that are pro-restructuring, then you will really know those who are truly against it.

look Atiku himself has on several occasions admitted that the president can not complerely restructure the country alone but certainly there are some aspect of it that the president can through executive orders do while working closely with the NASS to do the rest, truth is Buhari a hard core conservative n fanatical northern bigot does not support or agree to the idea of restructuring for the simple fear of losing political dominance but Atiku who is urbane n pro nationalistic in approach understand that true unity n inclusiveness will serve the whole country better is very willing to give it his very best, you people should start coming up with better ways of countering the Atikulation tsunami, propaganda deciet n lies can not help buhari/Apc this time.I hope buhari has got his certificate ready because after INEC publishes the candidate credentials n buhari is found wanting,he will surely face legal actions no amount if threats will stop it.
