Her sister really liberated the ikeji family.

She is the real mvp....but Money is not everything.

No matter how rich a woman is, without a husband she can never be whole. Happiness is the best thing that can happen to any woman. Linda should allow a man into her life.

Ask Tonto dike or tiwa savage how it feels being "unmarried"

And you think it's her choice she's not married?
She's a very successful blogger and media mogul. Let me translate that, she has little or no social life after work and she's famous.
In case you still don't get it, I mean she's intimidating to her potential suitors and she's hardly accessible to her potential suitors. She's wealthy and has to protect her wealth. Insecurity and trust issues kick in considering probably 90% men would tend to have ulterior motives for dating her.
Now Classism is another issue to contend with.

I pray she has good fortunes in marriage to icing the cake.
Christianity EtcRe: My Testimony by pressplay411(op):
I will patiently explain this to you but I must first ask a favour. My intention is not to argue with you neither is it to attack you, so please read with the intention to "hear me out", to understand.

Purpose is the reason something or someone was designed or created. The purpose of a spoon is to scoop meals when eating. The purpose of a television is to display motion picture. The purpose of a phone is communication via calls, chats, etc.
But do you know the purpose of man (humanity)?
I know my purpose, but do you know yours?

Atheism doesn't provide this answer. In fact, this question forms the basis of atheism. No scientist knows this answer either and you can't blame them, science does not answer the question of Why things exist but How they exist and function.
Science can describe with astute details how we were created (conceived) through copulation of the male and female gametes, formed from the union of the (lucky) sperm cell and ovum, developed from a zygote, grew into a foetus during a 9 month pregnancy, until finally after the 3rd trimester, delivered from the mother as a baby.
But with all the scientific, psychological and technological advancement achieved by Science, it still can never tell you why you were born (created). Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Perhaps I didn't get the memo.

Now you have an old dusty book (I hope you still do), the Bible that clearly explains why you were born, what you were born to do and even your original purposed destination in the after life.
Your bible is your life's manual from your manufacturer (creator).

To answer your question. What is the purpose of man?
It is summed up in 2 verses in the Bible.

Gen.1.28 - Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
Matt.6.33 - But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Our purpose is to seek first the kingdom of God (His presence, Eden) and then establish His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Then very other need of ours will be met. We will Prosper (fruitful), fill the earth and have Dominion over it.
Any object that is not fulfilling the purpose it was designed starts to malfunction. Just as using a car for any other purpose other than driving, it starts to malfunction. Even just parking a car without driving it for months, which is not necessarily abuse but disuse, it starts to malfunction.
This is why when we stay away from God's presence, not knowing God, we start to malfunction. Depression, unfulfilment, all sorts of mental disorders, bipolarity, insecurity, etc sets in. Yet, instead of repenting and returning to our Eden, God's presence, we turn further away resorting to dependence on drugs and alcohol which only postpone doomsday.

I hope this makes some sense to you. You'll be stubborn at first, you might even be tempted to get angry because the truth in any way, form or shape, is a bitter pill to swallow. But you have to "make yourself want to believe" before you can start to believe. Just give it a shot, nothing else truly works and you know this.

God loves you. He loved you even before you were conceived, He loves you so much he couldn't bare watching our destruction. He died for you and I. Christ saved us.
All He asks is you believe on Him, acknowledge Him and all His promises and purpose for your life will be fulfilled. Ask God to forgive your sins and choose to seek him today.

Peace and Grace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

This makes no single iota of sense.

Your purpose of seeking first the kingdom of God is as usless as me going to toilet in the morning. To me thats a meaningless purpose and PLEASE this so called purpose deos no stop any one from being depressed.
Again i have seen a lot of people seek first this mythical kingdom but i am yet to see anyone have everythinh he desires added unto him. People who claim to seek thins kingdom hustle every morning like me, they go through depression and sadness when they lost loved ones, they answer SIR to their fellow man just to keep their jobs... they are somtimes broke because of overwhelming issues to solve... seeking first the kingdom of God is as normal as seeking first money... it changes nothing.
And like i told u... there is no where it is written that the lack of belief in Gld leads to depression. I am an atheists and i know many christians i am functioning better than. I am smart and one of the best in my job.
The premise of this discussion is Purpose. As I explained earlier, the bible explains the Purpose of humanity and because of that I know my purpose.

What is your purpose of existence?

I mentioned nothing about how successful the doctor, the lawyer, road sweeper or scientist may or may not become, though you should assume they do what they do successfully and are rewarded accordingly and commensuratately.

I am talking about the specific purpose that is accomplished by them applying their so called "innate talent, skills and interests" in doing what they do - heal the sick and save the dying, fight against oppression, clean the streets to ensure filth and disease does not kill people and research into the sperm and ovum for what ever end result, and albeit successfully.
I've exhausted the explanation of Man's purpose. Your questions have already been answered. Once again it's your choice to accept it.

I know my purpose, do you know yours?

You need educating so I am butting in. My apologies for what may sound like an insult, but you, hear me out.
You mistake Purpose for an individualistic concept. All spoons were created for the purpose of scooping meals.
I simply explained the purpose of man's creation according the the Bible which is the only answer to Man's purpose.

What you do to be successful in life is different from your purpose. That's dreams and aspirations, that's Work. It differs for each individual depending on your innate talent, skills and interests.

Atheists choice of non-creation is not my place to prove or disprove. That's why it's a choice. But answer me this, why will you see the clear truth and still choose a lie? That's living in denial.

About the healing on the sabbath, I suppose you're referring to Jesus. You mistake Christianity for Judaism or a religion.
A Christian doesn't not need a day or place to worship God. We worship God in spirit and that happens every day and every where.

John.4.23 - But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
John.4.24 - God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

It doesn't conflict with our work.
Going to church on Sunday or any other week day is to fellowship. It's not a law. Our Lord, is lord of sabbath.

That said, there's a lot of misconception and misrepresentation of the teachings of the Bible. You'll be surprised how little you presently know about Christ and Christianity, no offence, I was humbled too.

If you are honest to yourself, you would see that religion is not the way forward. What has religion done so far in Nigeria. We are one of the most religious countries in the world by church attendance, yet, still corrupt.

Belief in God is quite useless. People have reached great heights without God. They have made discoveries, helped thousands and gone to mars.
The problem which you're right about is religiousness. It is not only the problem of Nigeria but of the whole world. Religion was practised before Christ and is being practised still after Christ. It might shock you to know this, Christianity is not a religion.
Nigeria is the way it is because truly we're a religious country. Islam, indigenous and some false Christianity.

And yes, any body can be successful in life. You don't need to be a believer to achieve that. But you need God to save your soul.
Most of those who succeed without God, are probably the most depressed people but you'll never know until maybe they're exposed or they make the news for overdosing cos they never found happiness, purpose and meaning in life.

I feel you've digressed a lot from the main discussion we started

Anyways if Christianity makes sense to you good for you, if it makes you a better person good for you. However I insist the atheist in GIND was never an atheist but a misotheist so anyone who claims to be an atheist and the film sowed some seed in his heart is not really an atheist to begin with but was claiming to be an atheist perhaps due to his/her trying to fit in there or had fizzled out of atheism subconsciously before watching the film
Let's not focus on GIND, if pastor's Sunday sermon doesn't save all the congregation, certainly even the movie wouldn't appeal to every audience.
If you couldn't believe a basic concept as Every creature was created by a Creator, How then will you believe that the Creator God became His own creature (Jesus Christ) conceived by a virgin, was beaten and crucufied by His own creatures (Man), died and on the third day rose again, having Conquered Sin and Death so that we His Creatures would be saved and come back into the Glory of eternal life.

You will be stubborn at first to even give this a thought. You will even be tempted to get angry about the idea. But trust me all you need is just give it a thought and make yourself "want to believe it" until you start to believe it.
You'll be amazed how it is not so unbelievable. Watch your life transform as "difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week." with Jehovah (pun intended)

honestly your atheism must've been really weak for such a film to plant seed into your heart but I guess the movie did that to you cuz you're simply the type of "atheist" the movie was talking about

FYI the movie NEVER addressed any arguments of atheism, rather strawmanned atheist arguments. I'm still finding it difficult you were an atheist when you watched it cuz the movie is extremely stupid

you misunderstood me!

I said many Christians panned the movie and you replied that by asserting that not everyone claiming Christian is a Christian. This prompted my showing you proof of people who argue for Christianity a lot but thinks the film is nonsense
good for you

Nonsense

No!

in my teens

I asked myself why I believed in Christianity and I came up with the answers

1. Indoctrination
2. Fear
3. Ignorance
4. wanting to fit in as everyone around me was a theist

This exactly is where you're getting it wrong, I didn't feel cheated "by god" but rather by indoctrination, by the world being built around the idea of gods, by laws being passed with the idea of what god wants and by people who are making me feel bad due to my rejecting the idea of god. By my parent's presenting a belief to me as fact

This is exactly why I said the kind of atheists portrayed in the movie is not the type out there or at least I haven't met such. its a stupid and ridiculous strawman

I'm not in a habit of throwing the no true Scotsman fallacy but I'll bite. you were never really an atheist, just an irreligious or deist at best or a misotheist at worst

I don't blame any god for any issue I'm going through I might blame people's belief in a god for certain issues however and some of these issues might not be unconnected to what I'm going through. This is atheism 101 and anyone who thinks god somehow is to blame for anything is NOT an atheist

Let me repeat again that blaming the consequences of believing in a god is different from blaming god himself. An atheist may do the former but only a non atheist can do the latter
That we do not share the same journey doesn't mean can't get to the same destination. According to Oxford dictionary,

Atheism is the belief that no deities exist (sometimes including rejection of other religious beliefs).

By this definition, I was an atheist. I was probably not as deeprooted as you've obviously become.
My atheism however later recognised the existence and power of a super force or suprer consciousness cos that was undeniable. I believed in the power of my Mind which really is basically belief in self. I knew my mind was connected to something which generated my thoughts and new ideas. It had to be responsible for coincidences, luck, fate, serendipity, cycle of life, the extra-perception, intuition, etc.
Things my knowledge and sense could never fathom. Hence it was impossible not to believe there's a super-consciousness.

Absent the fear of any God, I lived a reckless life only respecting human laws and I went as far as the tunnel would lead immorally. All that vain, hopeless life made no sense to me. But salvation does. So how can you sell a fake iPhone to Tim Cook? When he owns Apple.

I realised it rather took away my protection and left me out in the cold.
God could do without me, but I couldn't do without God, I was self-destructing.

Like I said in an earlier post, it's all a matter of choice. God won't come down to say I am God serve me. He gave us the power of Free Will because it is the one thing that can make us fulfill His purpose. But we've been deceived to use our freewill against Him.

I'm doubting you watched it especially since you're an "ex-atheist", I can't wrap my head around how an exatheist would recommend such a film that's being ridiculed by even Christians

A misotheist is a theist
"Atheist's hatred for my god" are purely nonsensical statements that gets uttered when Christians are gathered and doesn't stand up to even basic scrutiny when outside the fold. its akin to saying "Jesus loves us"

Atheists I know are not angry at any god, they're angry at the effects of belief in god (or certain effects of it)

Why would my saying your god does not exist, is useless and your religion is bullsheet mean I'm angry at your god?

Let me ask you since you claimed to be an exatheist, were you angry at a particular god then? were you angry at Allah? are you angry at Allah now that you're a Christian?

Its muted for business reasons probably and there are MANY channels you can switch to IF you're interested in hearing Jesus and god but you won't because you want to hear "Jesus" uttered in "50 shades of gray" or in a Jayz rap song in which he's bragging about wealth while surrounding himself with unclad supermodels. let me make it clear that I'm not in any way supporting their muting it

I don't see how this addresses my point at all!

check this out
https://www.reddit.com/r/Christianity/comments/7lqeu1/i_am_an_atheist_i_watched_the_movie_gods_not_dead/

by your logic, majority of the posters on that thread aren't Christians even though asides that thread their Post history showed they always supported anything Christianity asides that? that's some insane level of conspiracy theory

you're saying that any Christian who thinks the film is nonsense is simply disguising as a Christian?

I'm sure you've had more than enough time since then but okay
I ecommended the movie to you cos it was produced to address the arguments of atheism and while also ministering to Christians to be equipped to answer the questions of Atheists. Because atheism is the most beautiful deception and easily tempting to fall for if a Christians foundation is shaky or when confronted with challenges he finds "unchristian."
I recommend it to atheists more importantly because it planted a seed into my heart that must have been instrumental in my salvation much later.

That some Christians ridiculed it is not of consequence to me because it ministered to me, and nothing can take that away from it. It answered some questions, made me ask myself some salient questions, of course not immediately cos I watched with the intention to shred it's arguments apart having been recommended by a Christian who was hell-bent on evangelising to me then.

Regarding the 3 and 4 I skipped, I read the article and realised they were pretty much self explanatory, just a matter of perception. And Truly Atheists do call on God or higher power or something when at their wit's end. So no atheist in foxhole.

About the atheist not hating God. I asked you a question you didn't answer. Let me paraphrase.

Did you grow up raised an atheist?
When did you become an atheist?
What event or series of events led to your atheism and made you decide there's no God?
Did the event(s) make you feel cheated by God and invariably start hating the idea of God?

I ask because, that's how I became an atheist, I felt strongly cheated by a seemingly loving father figure who was supposed prevent me from harm yet I found myself in the worst situation I never imagined for myself. But now I know better.

I hope you guys will see the light and become atheists. Ramen!
Funny and even quirky as this post is, you know what you just did?
You've just evangelised. You just preached the gospel of the self, the gospel of the devil which has always been "You do not need God."

I hope you realise there's only 2 sides to life's coin; If you're not preaching Christ, You're preaching the devil.
I know because I was once reveled in the same state and pseudo-freedom.

It's just like kids playing and watching tv. It's so free, so gratifying, so pleasing to the senses. But the kid should have been doing his chores, diligently studying to pass their examinations, learning the important things in life, etc.

So tell me what happens when examination starts?
He starts chewing the tip of his pen and counting the ceiling in the exam hall because after probing his brain for possible answers to the exam question, it gave him an echo, cos his brain is empty from lack of study.

Trust me living as an atheist is free. But if in basic things of life a sense of responsibility is expected of us, how much more our soul?

Your existence came with a responsibility. You answer to your creator and creator of this world you're living in and you have a Purpose to fulfill. The earlier you realise this, the better.

If you'll be honest with yourself, even you know something's still not right with your present atheistic belief system.
I know I won't be able to convince you, that's not my job. But I hope I've been able to sow a seed of the knowledge of our God, Christ inside you. And I hope you will believe on Him today and receive His Grace to behold His Glory.

I often tell people that life is not a Nollywood movie.

Bad things do not always happened to bad people and good people do not always end up happiest.

I learnt this earlier in life.
The best students in my primary and secondary schools are not the most highly achieving today. Most of them didn’t even end up with first class in the University.

Even the first class students in most Universities do not end up the most successful.

Academic success is a little too overrated.

Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard to establish Facebook and he became the 5th richest man on earth. He is still in his 30s. Although he went back years later to tidy up.

Bill Gates also dropped out and he is the richest man on earth.

Virgins do sometimes end up marrying crazy philandering men, while some prostitutes do end up marrying men who worship them.

I’ve seen a woman who had several abortions but ended up having children in marriage when she was ready, while some virgins suffer fertility issues.

I’ve made up my mind to take calculated risks in life, and do what works for me. There’s really no almighty formula to success in life. If you see any opportunity, take it. As long as you aren’t making illegal moves and you aren’t hurting anyone in the process, go for it.
The paradox of life.
The only missing piece in your stellar epiphany is the realisation of humanity's plight of vanity. To which the recognition of the Almighty is the only source of sanity.

I wish you good luck in your calculated risks but even more I pray you receive the Greater Grace to behold God's Glory.

3. Most guys who genuinely have feelings for her are probably too intimidated by her success and panache.

So I wonder how she's to be lucky with men when only a very tiny fraction of her admirers can approach her with their intentions, and only a fraction of that fraction do not have ulterior motives.

For a successful lady, fame and fortune is a test really. She can afford all the security but still lives in insecurity of men.
Vice versa for men too.

I think we should train ourselves to take responsibility for our own failures.

So it was the aboki that planned and built the open drainage systems in Lagos, abi?

Maybe you should see the other pictures of some more filthy drainages around Lagos here:

https://autojosh.com/mega-city-why-does-the-lagos-state-government-still-construct-open-drainage-system/

Check them out and then report back here to explain how aboki caused these filthiness.
Good point OP.
While the bulk of the blame rests on us as the residents, I must remind you that where there's no law there's no sin. Or better yet, where there's no law enforcement, abuse is inevitable. And where order is not maintained, chaos is imminent.

What is the govt doing to maintain cleanliness and order?
We have LAWMA but no strict laws against poor waste disposal. We have traffic laws but vehicles breaking every traffic law and endangering commuters lives daily by plying one-way traffic among other foolishness. Why? When the law enforcers themselves are law breakers who is to cast the first stone?

LASG has put the cart before the horse and unless they wake up with a renewed determination for the task at hand without caring whose ox is gored, Lagos will at best only be a Mega village.

Christians should be very watchful of their utterances against the pastors that would be brought up by OP as Yahweh works in mysterious ways and his wisdom looks like foolishness unto man.

Yahweh once told the Israelites to kill all midianites but keep young virgin girls as war booty. This sounds wrong to us but whatever Yahweh commands is wise even if it looks wrong in our limited knowledge he has his reasons

Yahweh figuratively destroyed Saul for not totally destroying the Amalekites

Yahweh once told Ezekiel to eat bread baked with human shiit

Same way Yahweh sent lying spirits to Ahab's prophets. This also sounds wrong to us but he has his reasons we aren't privy to and he answers to no one

Yahweh also hardened Pharaoh's heart while using that as opportunity to send more plagues and kill innocent people until all firstborn sons of the Egyptians are dead. This also sounds cruel but that's Yahweh showing us his loving power and nobody should question him

Yahweh struck Onan dead for refusing to cum into his brother's wife's vagyna

its possible Yahweh instructed these pastors to do what they did and he might have his reasons so we should not use our limited knowledge to judge what a man talking to a being of unlimited knowledge does. Beware not to bring a curse upon your lives and future generations by attacking a true men of Yahweh
Daddy issues?

All the time your dad disciplined you and your siblings to straighten you up by either flogging you or denying you of TV or making you read for hours and making you take summer classes when all you wanted to do was play all day, , does that make him evil?
God is our father and boy did we need major straightening up before Christ died for our sins.

You'll get it when you become a father.

Make money not excuses but when you're done don't try using it to impress any Nigerian lady.

That's one thing I never did in my entire life despite never being broke cox I'm from a high class family.

Any man who makes money for the sole purpose of trying to impress a lady or getting her attention is a dead man still living.
The problem now is we don't know your gender to drive home your point.
PoliticsRe: MURIC Warns Nigeria's Christians: Don't Fall For Trump's Bait To Divide Nigeria by pressplay411(m): 11:17am On May 01, 2018
LordVarys:
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has criticised US President Donald Trump’s comments on the killing of Christians in Nigeria.

During a joint press conference with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, Trump said the US will not accept the attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria.

Reacting to the US president’s position, MURIC urged Nigerian Christians to “not allow themselves to be deceived by Trump”.

The Muslim group said Trump misfired by making the statement and alleged that he “is only using religion to turn Nigeria into another Iraq”.

MURIC warned Nigerian Christians against “swallowing Trump’s bait”, else the West African sub-region will “be shaken to its foundation”.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ishaq Akintola, director, MURIC, said Trump’s statement “is prejudiced, parochial and unpresidential”.

Akintola said Trump, by virtue of the comment, “is luring Nigerian Christians into bolder confrontation” with Muslims.

“It is sheer interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation. Trump has a bully’s instinct,” the statement read in part.

“If this is the same Trump who called African countries ‘shithole’, the same American president who threatened to wipe out North Korea, the same US leader who banned Muslims from entering his country, the same Republican who said, “Torture works, ok folks?”, Nigerians must be wary of America’s involvement in their affairs.

“We should remember that Nigeria did not get the required support from the moderate and cool-headed Barrack Obama in its war against terrorism. We should therefore not expect any from Trump who treats vulnerable nations with contempt and has no respect for African countries. Unless Nigerians unite, this country will become America’s ‘shithole’.

“Trump’s comment on killings in Nigeria implies that he would prefer that it is Muslims alone who are being killed. We refuse to believe that a whole American president does not know the true situation on ground in this country. He who knows but pretends not to know has his own secret agenda. Nigerian Muslims are not intimidated by Trump’s comment. We only sympathise with those who will be gullible enough to become Trump’s ‘suckers’. Posterity will judge us.

“Nigerian Christians should not allow themselves to be deceived by Trump’s comment. The advanced countries of today will not compromise the secret of their technological advancement. Western countries will not teach us what will benefit our people. They will only teach us what will divide us in order to further render us debilitated, impoverished and helpless.

“Nay, they will give us fish but refuse to teach us how to fish. They will scatter us like wild oats and then give us weapons to kill ourselves. Then, under the guise of rendering humanitarian services, they will take over our land, our oil, our rich culture and force homosexualism and lesbianism down our throats but at that time, it will be too late to resist. Mark our words.

“Trump is only using religion to turn Nigeria into another Iraq. Just as former US President Bush used Sunni-Shiite dichotomy to destroy Iraq just to lay his hands on Iraq’s oil field, Trump is also eyeing Nigeria’s oil. His plan is to use Christian-Muslim divide to set Nigeria ablaze. But Nigerians should remember that decades after the invasion of Iraq, that country is yet to experience stability. Years after the killing of Ghadaffi, Libya is yet to find its feet. The guns are still booming in Syria and the world holds its breadth each time North Korea sneezes.

“It is our contention that Trump is luring Nigerian Christians into bolder confrontation with their Muslim neighbours. We warn that the West African sub-region will be shaken to its foundation if Nigerian Christians swallow Trump’s bait. The extension to Nigeria of America’s crusade which brought ruins to Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya and Sudan will have dire consequences on the whole African continent.

MURIC urged the federal government not to rely on US support to tackle the security challenges in Nigeria and also warned against a military alliance with the US

All I hear from this verbosity is guilt.
Hate him or love him, One thing you can't take away from Trump is his bluntness. He speaks the obvious truth other leaders are being too careful and diplomatic to address.

He called certain countries "Shtoles" and all hell broke loose. Yet same citizens defending their countries are applying desperately for visas to escape their "shthole" for Trump’s country.
We all know that Nigeria is divided along Religious and Ethnic grounds anf we have managed to coexist, but we can't deny and fold arms when there's unaddressed religious or ethnic annihilation.

Our pastors have been crying and petitioning the govt to intervene yet neither the president or Muslim leaders have done anything to assuage the imminent danger of this precarious development.

Buhari is a good man, but a religious and ethnic bigot. Here in lies the problem. He has to respect his religious teachings even when it preaches killing non-muslims for Allah and conflicts his position as a President of all the Tribes and Religions of Nigeria.

Truly, Trump is one of the Greatest men to ever live.
Posterity will celebrate him more than we can ever appreciate his value now.

Little wonder South and North Koreans are already singing for his Nobel Peace Laureate.
PoliticsRe: Trump Asked For The Protection Of Both Christians And Muslims In Nigeria by pressplay411(m): 11:01am On May 01, 2018
Opinionated:
Religion is a very volatile issue in Nigeria and United States President, Donald Trump might have inadvertently triggered off a new source of dispute between Christians and Muslims in the country.

He made the following comments at the Oval Office where he held talks with President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We have had very serious problems with Christians who are being murdered in Nigeria, we are going to be working on that problem very, very hard because we cannot allow that to happen,” Trump said.

However, in his opening statement at the Rose Garden press conference, he stated:

“We are deeply concerned by religious violence in Nigeria, including the burning of churches and the killing and persecution of Christians,” he pointed out.

“We encourage Nigeria and the federal, state and local leaders to do everything in their power to immediately secure the affected communities and to protect innocent civilians of all faiths, including Muslims and including Christians.”

This provides more insight into the United States position about the violence in Nigeria and shows it is not taking an anti-Muslim stance when it comes to the violence ravaging the country.

Therefore, it is important that Nigerians focus on our common security than engage in unnecessary squabbles over what Trump said about one religious group or the other.

Perhaps they want him to start enumerating all the religions in Nigeria. He emphasised on Christians because they're undeniably the victims in recent spate of religious attacks.
Perhaps Muslims feel uncomfortable with the statement knowing they or their offshoots are guilty of culpability as the culprits of these attacks.

Your response shows that you barely understand my post and that's OK. Its not meant for everybody.
"I'm non religious but not an atheist, and I wholly agree with some aspects of what he was saying, for example the new testament has some very good lessons on morality, though I find some of the levels of pacifism to be too extreme to function in modern society (turn the other cheek when slapped). Since the new testament is where Christians base their faith on, it's fine. I realized this later on and some of my moral guidelines do come from the new testament as with other religious books."

Did you post that? This summarises your personage. You're an eclectic who lives his life from a mishmash of the good aspects of different religions and philosophies, Christianity inclusive.
But the truth remains, it's a denial of God while living on some moral conducts and standards. But good as it may, it's foundation is not solid enough if it's not in Christ. And there in lies it's Achilles heel.

My intent is not to attack or impose, but rather to exhort.

Since the new testament is where Christians base their faith on, it's fine. I realized this later on and some of my moral guidelines do come from the new testament as with other religious books.

But saying that forming moral guidelines needs to come from religion is something I disagree with, because even modern Christians also leave out some portions of the bible when choosing what their moral guidelines need to be, its this common sense that makes them know that murder is not an appropriate punishment for rude children as we see in the bible. I think moral guidelines can come from anything that the two parties involved consent too, and which doesn't affect any other human being negatively. If we look at the ten commandments, all of them fit in with this rule. Historically humans have had one form of push for human rights, law, and order or the other even before Christianity. Though some laws in the past were primitive but they've evolved over time.

On the other hand, the old testament has so many negative lessons and horrid atrocities committed in the name of the god they believe in- leaving you wondering if it really is the same deity that was being worshipped in both parts of the bible.

Still on morality, he mentioned that the vast majority of people would be lost without religion, and I agree with that. Religion teaches community, relationships, etc and so it helps people understand why they should want to do things that wouldn't harm their fellow man. Without religion, a guy working a job with long days and long nights with no time to even talk to anyone might lose sight of the reason why he needs to live in a way that's beneficial or at the very least, tolerable by his fellow man. I think its less about the 'moral compass' because if we take Muslims as a case study, there's so much supported violence in their religion and yet, a lot of them are peaceful- they've learned the value of community simply by meeting together and congregating regularly and the friendships and loved ones they meet along the way is enough reason to behave properly.

Another part from that message that made sense was where he said Judeo-Christian religion held western civilization together, which is very true. Though its a movie and not 100% historically accurate, from DaVinci's Demons we could see how historically warring Italian city-states all agreed to unite to defend themselves from the onslaught of Muslims from Eastern Europe who were looking to pillage and cause destruction in the name of their prophet.

But a grouse I have with the op is his constant idea of picking out achievements done by Christians and attributing it to Christianity, which is ridiculous. Its no different from the retards in the politics section who look for successful people of their ethnic group and attribute their success to their origin.
Religion doesn't even teach logical reasoning, it teaches faith, and the scientific process has little or nothing to do with faith (little because at times scientists make guesses and hope they're right, but then again these are educated guesses from verifiable data).

Religion also does provide stability to people's lives because at the very least it gives them somewhere to tick when they fill out employment forms, lol grin . And less strange looks from people. Its also a reason why I'm considering becoming a Quaker because they are legally recognized as Christians but they have so many denominations including the non-theist Quakers who place emphasis on morality and being useful to community, which is a great idea. The last time I was in the United States I attended a Quaker fellowship (the people I stayed with were Quakers) and the 'service' was simply a two hour silence and reflecting on how you've been able to add positive values to people's lives during the week, thinking about the things you've done wrong, etc. Then after service everyone could meet with each other for help, from hard tasks to simple tasks like assistance with fixing bicycles. Everyone also brought food they could afford for the less privileged to have something to eat, and it was then I realized the immense value of community in developing morality. And I realized I needed to do more in terms of being a positive member of society.

That's all I have to say.
Do you not see? That you're only running away from the obvious truth?
It's like saying a computer doesn't exist but you appreciate it's softwares that help you accomplish your tasks.
Perhaps because your computer disappointed you once or twice.

I pray you receive the Grace to behold God's glory.
