hahahaha dont blame the woman. She was asking using imagined scenarios . Which kind husband be this self common medicals lol. These things are not always easy for women , like my friend who wanted to divorce her husband who regularly beats her till she faints and to coma once. But he was never going to allow her take the kids to Canada without him. So she dumped the divorce process, all of them dey Canada now.
To be honest, I feel for her but she has to do things the right way, make she no go hook. Some people are just naturally selfish and they only think about themselves. And there is a possibility that he doesn’t understand the implications of him not going for medicals hence the reason he is insisting on not going for medicals. Except he has a hidden medical condition, which he doesn’t want his wife to know about, I see no reason for his refusal but what he doesn’t know is that she won’t be given any details regarding his medical report. As for your friend’s husband, I hope he won’t try that shit in Canada hence he will be in deep shit. I don’t believe people like him change though. Na person like him dey drive the narrative of women growing wings abroad but they won’t say the part they played in the mess. She is in my thoughts.

Lol, I had to pick my words carefully because it seems she has something in mind which may not favour her in the long run. I hope she does things the right way and not complicate matters. The only solution I see to this is cajoling him to go for the medicals after all he is alive and well.

Guys please, I need help and suggestion. It feels like I'm not breathing.

I have been in this journey for a very long time without ITA, husband man has never been anywhere near support but i have been doing all I can. Now I have ITA through pnp finally and this man has refused to go to medicals with me. I can guarantee you, he does not have any questionable health issue.

Please what can I do, yes I can do spouse non-accompanying but he must do MEDICALS.

Abeg, is there a way I can get a separation document? Anyone willing to help with this or any other suggestion? Note, he says he is not against the kids travelling, says i can take the kids for medicals but i know deep down that somehow, he is not totally being truthful.

So please, main reason for this write-up, how can i proceed without him doing medicals. Please who can help arrange documents of seperation cry cry embarassed
You posted this on the 4th of February, good to know your husband has resurfaced. However my very candid advise to you is to not do anything to jeopardize your chances in this journey. You have to do things the right way. You are looking for who to help you arrange separation document or what did I read? If you have genuine reasons to be separated from your husband, start it legally now and get a legal document binding your separation from your husband but be ready to face the hurdles of getting him to give a letter of consent to travel with kids (most usually wait till this time). If you don’t mean the separation, the only option is to let him know that him not going for medicals is going to stall your application and he needs to be supportive. He can decide to stay back and not relocate with you if he wants. You are neck deep into this to play games that would affect your application now or later in the nearest future. I wish you all the best.

Very detailed! Thank you. So, I did play play with the CRS calculator and all things being equal, I'll have a total score of 466 if I and my hubby have two or more degrees which we intend to do(taking any of the courses you listed above), acing our IELTS, and 3 years experience for me. My NOC is Skilled Type O. @ the bolded, my hubby is a Pharmacist and I don't know if that will pass for masters.

I'll take the advice on learning French. Can my one year NYSC teaching experience suffice? That was in 2013-2014 anyway. Nigeria happened so I had to learn skills, and do other stuffs uptil 2021.
Yes, your husband’s pharmacy degree will be evaluated as equivalent to a masters degree. However, Pharmacist have a separate evaluation body so he won’t be using Wes, he would evaluate his B.pharm with PEBC. Yes, you can use your NYSC as long as it’s within the last 10 years but we usually advice that your reference shouldn’t categorically state Nysc to be on a safe side. And if your NOC is category zero, you may want to check if it’s in demand in Ontario and if you are on the 460s range, you stand a chance of getting NOI from Ontario. However Ontario requires you to have a minimum of 1 year work experience within the last 5 years.

Hi guys, I must commend those keeping this thread active with great info. So I'm officially starting my journey plans with this post, and I'll appreciate your help. I have gone through the first page and understood the steps, but I'm still confused about how to start. I and my spouse have a BSC although my spouse is in the medical field. I only have less than one year working experience as I just officially begun working this year while my spouse has over 7 years working experience. I'm 31 and my spouse is 37, but I'll like to be the principal because of age advantage.

So, my question here is what other degree can I add to boost my CRS? Going for masters isn't on my plate right now because I'm working, and I intend doubling my hustle grin.

The two statement in bold does not go hand in hand. You cannot be the principal applicant with a work experience that is less than one year. The questions you should ask is what is your work experience? Is it eligible to apply for EE? Furthermore with a one year work experience in the express entry of today, you have less chances however if you have an occupation in demand in a province like Alberta and Ontario that picks directly from the pool, you may be lucky to get nominated however in the absence of that, your chances are slim as age is also no longer on your side as well. You start losing point at the age of 30 and I read you are 31 but between you and your hubby , you stand a better chance.

You can also do a short course like BCS, ACCA, CIMA, CIIN etc to claim two or more certificates or you could run a masters like someone advised earlier. In my opinion, a short course to claim two or more certificates is better because you don’t have age on your side as well. If your husband is a medical doctor, his degree will be evaluated as equivalent to a masters. French is the way now so if you have the money, time (you can create this if you’re determined), you can start learning French and take the French exams, that would boost your points too. Start by playing around with the CRS calculator. What is your NOC?

Resharing this post from this thread as evidence. This strategy was adopted by a number of people in prior threads. I just don't have the patience to look for them now. Changing the spouse to accompanying after PPR has no implication aa you already did medical and made provision for them with POF. I can't remember what happens if notification is post-AOR.

Preshlomoye, read through @Remicynt post and see if you may find favour in the eyes of the VO just as she found favour. Perhaps a letter of explanation will help and if you requests lands in the hands of a compassionate VO, your wife may be added.

Definitely representation because at the point of sponsoring him later, marriage certificate will come out and the question they will ask is why didn't you declare him earlier.

I think the removal of spouse she is talking about is married but spouse unaccompanying and not totally applying a single lady.

Good morning,

I need advice please. I am in the pool as a primary applicant with CRS of 445. This is because my husband hasn’t done IELTS and his ECA is not out yet. When I removed him, my score was 475. Should I leave it as 475? If I do, will I be able to add my husband again after I get an ITA?
What would your score be if your husband evaluated his degree and writes IELTS? You can’t add your spouse after ITA if adding your spouse would reduce your points, this is because your scores would be recalculated and if your score is lower than the invited score that got you ITA, your application would be rejected. Adding of spouse post AOR works well for newlyweds because they got married after they submitted their application. In your case, it’s different. Encourage your hubby to write IELTS and evaluate his degree, that would give you a boost in your point. All the best! Another option is for you to land as PR and sponsor your husband after one year of your stay as a PR.

By removing him it means she is claiming to be single instead of married. If she removes him how do she add him later? Won't that be misrepresentation? Except of course she plans to sponsor him later when PPR is approved
Removing him doesn’t mean she is claiming single. Removing him means, she will claim married but spouse unaccompanying.

If you want to evaluate both, add both to your profile at the point of registration.

If you want to evaluate both at no additional cost, then you must include the ACCA at the point of registration. Otherwise, you will be required to pay additional fee of $100 to evaluate your ACCA once your Bsc has been evaluated.

If the pass mark is 40/50, I support prettipearlz's suggestion. CIMA has a pass mark of 70% which is crazy especially when you dont have a background in accounting/finance
Sorry, it’s actually 50 out of 100 but CIMA is 100 out of a scale of 150 I think.

Thank you. Is it better or faster to write TEF. I want to increase my CRS with either TEF or CIMA. I want to create an EE profile by December (hopefully IELTS) will be done and dusted
I think you should consider writing ACCA F1 to F3 instead of CIMA. It gives the same evaluation report as CIMA. Pass mark is 50 and you need to write just 3 papers. Certificate is issued within 48 hours, transcript to Wes is free. If you studied an accounting related course, you can take 1 exemption and write 2 papers.

There won’t be a problem, express entry is different from study visa/application . Just go ahead with you application and back it up with prayer.
Says who? undecided Do you understand the implication of what he wrote? So what if his application falls into the hand of a VO that is very detailed and decides to check? Please let’s be careful with the kind of advice we give people when it comes to sensitive issues like this.
@Ade9k, please do as GraciousWords has said. You need to put in a strong LOE detailing why you didn’t include it in your student visa application. A guy had the same issue and he was given a PFL. Once given a PFL, it takes the grace of God to come back victorious.

My IELTS result came in today LRWS 8.5, 8.5 ,7,7. I just weak. CRS score now is 464, losing points after birthday (31).

Do you guys think I should request for a remark for WS? Is there a chance of the speaking and writing increasing the band to 7.5 so I can max out the remaining 6 points? Before I waste 27k on the remark.

I don tire. I cannot take this exam again. Any hope with that 464 score if the maxing out doesnt work?
You have a beautiful result, do not let this weigh you down. However, take the risk and request for a remark for speaking and Writing. You never know one or two of them may come back with a 7.5 each.

Hello everyone. I am really grateful that this page is available. It is really helping a lot of us. A little about myself: I studied engineering. After my graduation, I did my NYSC in the engineering department of a ministry. At the conclusion of my NYSC, I had to start looking for a job and I recently got an engineering job with a private company. As I only recently started at this job, it hasn't been up to a year, but the NYSC service was for a year. After checking on the CRS calculator, because other factors I have going my way, I really only need 1 year experience to be okay. My plan initially was to use my NYSC experience for that one year, but I spoke to some people who said that the Canadian immigration officials don't regard NYSC service as legitimate work experience and so it wouldn't count for me. And so I have a two-part question:
1) Is NYSC experience viewed as real work experience for the purposes of Canadian immigration?
2) Can you combine experience from two different companies (in my case the ministry and the private company) if it is moreorless the same job you were doing at both places?

I would really appreciate hearing from you guys and I'm sure that you all will proffer a lot of astute suggestions.
Thanks.
1. Yes, you can use NYSC experience (my friend did with her reference letter even stating that) however to be on a safe side, your reference letter should not indicate NYSC instead, it should state your job duties and remuneration in IRCC format.

2. Yes, you can combine experience from different organizations so far as you can get a reference letter.

Furthermore, your primary NOC should be at least one year long. That you studied Engineering doesn’t mean you have to present a work experience of engineering with the exception of Saskatchewan who requires that your education must be in line with your education. Your job duties determines your NOC. Please check page 1 of this thread to read more.

Guys please i have a question …
When two divorcees get married and they both have children from former marriages how can they go about the PR process.
The woman has done her WES and ielts and everything and it’s in her former husband’s name …
Her surname is like jay-paul … With Jay being her own father’s name and Paul being the former husband’s name.
Now she’s about to get married to a DIVORCEE… can the marriage certificate suffice? because she cannot do a change of name now seeing that her WES and IELTS and TEF is in the Jay-paul name… can she carry on with that name even though now married to someone else and they intend to do PR together..
They have 5 kids between them… 3 from the man in his previous marriage and 2 from her from her previous marriage …
The lady was already processing her relocation… she has TEF and WES and IELTS
The intend to get married in two months time and enter the pool together as a family of 7.
My question is - Will the marriage certificate suffice since she cannot change her name again…
Both of them will submit divorce papers and custody papers as well..
There is no need for a name change to complicate matters. She should go on with her Jay-Paul name. She should submit both their divorce certificates and new marriage certificates to show they are married. That’s all. Also if they intend to go with the kids from the previous marriages, they need consent from the other parents of the children. Wish them all the best.

Good day everyone. My wife has a BSc degree in Computer science and a BCS level 4 certificate in IT. For WES evaluation, is it possible to evaluate both the bachelor's degree and the certificate as "two or more degrees" or we should evaluate her University degree alone?

If it is possible to evaluate both qualifications, how do we go about it? Do we add both qualifications in a single WES application. Any form of advice will be appreciated. Thanks
Yes, her Bsc and BCS certificate will be evaluated as two or more certificates. Also yes, you are to add both in a single Wes application if the certificates are both ready.

Yes, that's your opinion. I just don't think it's fair for you to make such submissions about her spouse based on your assumptions. No one is feeling attacked here.
My suggestion to Winkky remains that she should work with verifiable facts, not emotions. I wish her family all the best.

You do not seem to get it right? My submission wasn’t based on my assumptions but based on what was written by the wife. You make it seem like I just concluded without a backstory. There was a story from the beginning. So please don’t come with that. Based on what she has written, I still maintain my opinion, she really wants a life for her children and something as minute as that is what would be a stumbling block? I think he should be eager to know now if the child is his or not so he stops holding any level of guilt he may be feeling. That shouldn’t be hard, is it? Please let’s just move on, it’s not a debate on who is right or wrong, you are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine as well. The most important thing is how she can move forward with her application without this being a stumbling block in her application or in the future when they have become landed immigrants and the only logical solution here being what Ednut1 suggested. Peace

And how do you know this? Please be calming down. I believe Winkky should make her decisions based on known facts, which is what IRCC/ visa officer would work with anyway. The DNA test is one very important way to put the matter to rest once and for all. I just hope they can get it done before ITA.
You too be calming down! It is not every time that you people should be feeling attacked when we are talking about your gender. Her application is at stake here and he is choosing to be psychologically ready to do the needful after abandoning a child that may as well be his? The sacrifices she has made to get to where she is may be going up the flames or don’t you know the energy and work you put into studying, writing and passing TEF? Please I don’t even want to have this conversation with you but it’s my opinion, you are entitled to yours as well.

@Winkky if you have exhausted all options and it’s not working out, you can consider ednut1 advise of going ahead with your application without including the child and once the DNA test has been carried out, you can inform them of the new discovery based on the outcome of the test. No matter what it is please do not give up on your plans to get your children a good life.

Thank you @GraciousWords
I have read through everything in the link you sent to me and I understand all the requirements now.

We had a lengthy discussion and he opened up that he is not in the child’s life, the child does not know him as a dad and he doesn’t even believe he impregnated the lady in the first place, she disappeared after they broke up and came back later with the child, that it is just his family being emotional and acknowledging the lady and her child because she was close to them when they were dating. He said he will request for a DNA when he is psychologically ready but right now he doesn’t see the child as his, so he cannot allow me to put it on our application. I didn’t know about this before marriage anyway.

So I am confused, stuck, and seeing my Japa dream in flames after acing IELTS, TEF, with a masters and over 7yrs work experience and my POF intact.

Is there a way out for me, what options do I have or I should just accept my destiny and hope my children will make it out on their in future…
Wow! Just wow! Your husband is a very selfish human being who thinks of no one but himself and I feel so sorry for you. He is only making this hard for you and if you don’t include this child, years later it would come back to haunt you. First he abandoned his child for years and now that he has the perfect reason to find out if the child he abandoned is truly his child or not, he says when he is psychologically ready? Doesn’t he realize how his action is affecting your own plan for your life? If it wasn’t affecting you, I would have said don’t involve yourself but this affects you, I think you should take charge. Maybe talk to your in laws to see if they can help you out.
