Peace, safety and security have eluded our country. So sad. Also, there should be more evidence nailing a suspect other than this frequent 'confession' of the crime. These proofs of capacity to identify culprits from among several suspects will serve as deference to criminal wannabes. |
Insecurity should be the number one reason. Another is the fact that the people can't really see, feel, touch and experience the impact of electing leaders into positions of government, despite having the President from their very own state in the past 7 years and some 2 years between 2007 and 2009. The same insecurity should account for South East states excluding Ebonyi. Same goes for Plateau, Niger and Benue in North Central. Borno in North East seem to have adjusted hence its high registration despite insecurity. |
Mumusaphire:Why dislike improvement? After all it's explained that this innovation will help detect offsides and reduce time of debating whether it was or not offside. |
WATCHOVER:Will a Muslim medical doctor operating on his child or relative adorn hijab instead of the theater kits? Will a Christian medical doctor operating on his child or relative adorn choir robe instead of theater kits? Dress codes for different professions should be allowed to be without interference, all these things will ruin this country. |
Ekpekus:It's believed you read and saw the word 'insensitivity' clearly stated. |
thanksjosh005:What was your role? You ain't clear about it. And the alleged act, is it criminal? |
treesun:More than 22 nuclear families (parents of slain people) thrown into mourning. And when you factor those among them who are married and have children, you can imagine the ripple effect on families. And yet, we are playing with this deadly thing called insecurity. Sad! |
festacman:Aptly captured. |
Sad reality of the Niger Delta. Degrading environment which has dire consequences on health, economy and well being of the people. |
mbasharon:You should know why. Aside being active and supportive to all of them, Wike is alleged to have been the major sponsor or source of fund and sustenance for PDP since becoming governor of Rivers. Now in 2019, Atiku Abubakar was made flag bearer of the same PDP despite being one of the chief architects of the party's disarray and eventual downfall in 2015. He lost in 2019 and didn't stay back to build or sustain the party but was mostly in UAE. Same Wike and a few others sustained the tempo in the party. Now Atiku resurfaced and because of structural bias that favours the north he emerged candidate for Presidency under the pdp again. Having set up a committee himself and the leadership of the party, and the majority of the committee members aligned with a particular decision which the remaining four are yet to publicly disagree, why renege? This matter will certainly deal Atiku and the PDP a big blow. |
Awesome01:Wrong advice. The footage can be obtained if an order from the court is involved. It's supposed to be a simple process, just that the police has not been helping on matters as this. If we continue letting things be there won't be a way of getting things right. |
Awesome01: |
Serial48:Follow the process to request the bank's CCTV footage to identify the culprit, except if you parked very far from the bank. Once identified, make sure he or she faces the music. |
aribisala0:I get. Fahdiga was the person who first responded to my comment. I got two mentions and yours was first, I went straight to responding assuming it to be Fahdiga's. Back to your response. Sowore, although perceived by many as being controversial has been radical in reporting, I agree with you on that. In my opinion, his disposition however has made most of his acts of journalism, advocacy and politics not to be taken seriously anymore, unfortunately too, and this is to the detriment of the country, because lots of times he has evidence. But note, both offline and on Internet platforms, how many of the journalists in Nigeria have built reputation of effecting social or other forms of change in recent times? I am being specific about journalists in Nigeria, especially. I agree that the world is now a stage for almost everyone to act and be viewed or to take a seat and watch others, thanks to advancement in technology. So there are so many out there using various platforms to report and influence activities in Nigeria, but they wouldn't be able to make the impact those from the home front can. Besides, there is still that large part of the population that can only be reached via transistor radios, terrestrial television stations, and newspapers. These ones influence decisions in their localities and even on the streets. As developed as the UK, USA and all developed countries, newspapers are still being published and sold. Can we say with all honesty that our journalism has been shaped or is being shaped in the right direction by the active ones today? |
aribisala0:Our discuss started from your statement that Ekweremadu is finished as journalists will remind him of this drama and I am drawing your attention to the fact that you are talking about the present day journalists who have failed. All those journalists you mentioned are in the past. None is active today. Can we say the same of the journalists of today? With all the happenings today, which I mentioned some earlier, how is the institution as a whole responding let alone spearheading turnaround? |
Fahdiga:The press in Nigeria is not as voracious as the one in the UK, in fact, it is one of the weakest around the world. It has never lived up to the expectation of being the instrument for check and balance in the country, reason it is constantly flung by those with the power to do so, else a lot of ills that have gone and is going wrong in the country would have been adequately thrashed with the press being the front runner. But guess what? Ours isn't effective. They only feast on the week and gullible, little wonder a former president during his tenure once described them as Brown envelope journalists. If you ask me to give you examples I will. Right now banditry, kidnapping and all sorts of killings are ongoing, has the press applied enough pressure that cost anyone's job for failing? ASUU has been on strike for how long? No sufficient press pressure on both the government and ASUU Worse is the longest fuel scarcity since 1999 despite high pump price, what has the press done about it? Ours is a seasonal press. |
Abemy:About publishing of Ukpo's details hope you read clearly that it wasn't the Ekweremadu's that did that? They simply approached the court with those details in filing charges against someone whom they believe based on documents at their disposal that before the law the you g man is of age to assume criminal responsibility,i.e. 21 years. The press published the details which you and I are reading. Theirs is a criminal case filed against the guy, rest assured, it will be difficult for the guy to win this case. You shouldn't have all those registrations with those banks if you haven't attained 18, except if done by your parents or guardian. And if the records show more details of transactions spanning years then it would have been proven the boy is above 18. The Ekweremadus just initiated their own move on the chess board, a smart one. How will NIS, NIMC and the banks exonerate themselves? |
Fahdiga:How has he ruined his reputation on this matter? If you care to be civil then let's x-ray your comment and the issue maturely. |
oz4real83:LOL. The same way our leaders are lawless in Nigeria and law abiding abroad. |
Ndibuna:LOL. Hahahaha See post o. Lol |
IgOga:You are correct on the views of UK and other developed countries pertaining to child trafficking, organ harvesting, racism, rape, GBV etc. From available documents it appears the boy is above 18 and the Ekweremadus might not be guilty on age related charges, but the clear picture is one of a young man bent on not returning to Nigeria. This is sad tale of consequences of bad leadership. If Nigerian leaders which Ekweremadu happens to be one had put in place standard hospitals where such transplants can successfully take place, if the doctors were trained through the university without incessant strikes,... perhaps, we would not have been reading this drama. This is a call, our leaders should fix Nigeria. Covid lock down made a lot of our leaders lose their lives because they could not fly abroad for treatment, yet they seem not to have learnt. Sad. |
Canvass:It's clear those dragging the whole country behind. Shame. |
agabaI23:Thank you for putting the records straight. I had to quote someone on front page of the other thread to highlight these things you mentioned in order to debunk the lies and unmask the mischief and you have just done that. There's need to even include jobs created along the value chain of the investment because a lot of jobs have been created. |
Ofodirinwa:Please because you are on front page, kindly edit your comment to tell them the report is skewed. It didn't report at what value per share when Peter Obi invested over $12M of Anambra state funds, and the report did not state how much jobs and businesses have been created along the value chain? The fraudulent report didn't mention why the dollar equivalent of the investment will definitely have to be low, which is the loss of value of the Naira to the dollar courtesy the APC government. |
amagugm:It is only by stopping it that Nigeria will grow. But if you are going to be realistic, you'll identify the urgent need for Labour Party's presence in all polling units across the country, and not just its presence, but the presence of those who will ensure the party's votes count, whether in the sandy polling units of Daura, Katsina or the river areas of Ilaje, Ondo, whether around Ilela border areas or Maigatari in Jigawa. There are factors that have to be considered. And once considered, ways around them can be drawn and implemented within record time to assure of victory. |
smartidemudia28:The structure being talked about is key if Peter Obi is to win the Presidential election. Different folks have different meanings to 'structure' as being discussed today in Nigeria's public space. This is because the election process still allows room for manipulation of results by candidates who dominate a polling unit. While the current process has automated accreditation and made it impossible to spike votes higher than actual number of accreditations, the manual voting through thump printing without proper security of the sanctity of the vote makes it possible for the votes of a particular candidate to be added to another, entered and declared in favour of the other candidate who controls the polling unit. For instance, if party X does not have an agent at a particular polling unit in Borno, even if some people there cast their votes for party X, at the end of the day, when votes cast are counted, all the votes can be entered for party Y, provided it tallies with the number of accredited voters, party X will score zero. This can only happen when party X has no real physical presence that will vote, and ensure the vote is counted. This is what structure does for a candidate and a party. |
Righteousness2:https://www.brides.com/story/wedding-garter-traditions-old-and-new Reading above sheds more light. Not a good practice at all. |
Eriokanmi:Just like saying second End SARS will be in February 2023.. |
A man and a woman have four sons, one day they were traveling, they prepared swallow (amala or eba or tuwo) with soup for the sons to eat and sustain themselves before they come back. Hours after their parents had gone, the sons felt hungry and decided it was time to eat, so they brought out the food, sat down to eat. With their hands washed, each one reached into the plate containing the swallow to have a cut, their hands collided at the top of the small bowl, so one of them suggested they take turns and all four agreed. But who reaches out to cut the swallow and dip in the soup first became their problem. Heated argument ensued soon after on who takes the first turn and who goes second, third and last. Eventually, one of them reached for the two pieces of meat in the soup meant for them to share after eating the swallow, upon sighting this gesture, each one scrambled for the other meal components- that is one carried the bowl of swallow, another carried the soup while another went with the pack of juice they had not turned into cups till after the meal as instructed by their parents before leaving... Now all the boys are holding themselves ransom despite the hunger they feel. This is the story of Nigeria. In this country, the average, less privileged and poor are the ones killing themselves... And the cycle continues... The tribes hating on each other don't realize that there isn't hate at the top but only at the middle and bottom. APC and PDP have almost completely mixed up making it difficult to differentiate between the two because of how their members switch places. Yet, on this platform, youths that should galvanize the country are further tearing each other apart at the detriment of all. Power generation, transmission and distribution will always be a problem of the middle and lower class. Because the high do not rely on National grid for domestic and industrial purposes. At home they use solar systems or generators. In business they use generators and spread the cost for the consumers to shoulder, either way, it is a win for the high class. Keep calling each other afonja, mkpumiri, children of hate, wailers, Igbos,..etc. (funny it is more within ethnic entities of southern Nigeria). Drive the wedge of division deep beyond repair,... You feel safe now, maybe you are sure of the safety of your three generations to come, but certainly you can't tell about the fourth, how their welfare will be like... And guess what? It's your actions today that are shaping the institutions and country they will find. |
Toneypen247:What matters most is the transparency of the electoral process and its incorruptibility. If the accredited voters on election day tally with votes counted and every party is accorded due votes received rest assured that Kano politicians will be shocked at what Labour party will score in the presidential elections. |
AntiChristian:What happens to communication with those you govern? You are supporting something you know deep within yourself that the entirety of it wasn't right. If the church building is wrongly sited or there is an obvious flaw in the foundation isn't it appropriate for the agency to provide explanations and circulate same to avert mutual suspicion? The Wharf road mosque you cited as example that was demolished had another bigger one constructed not far off, and there are other mosques around. The attitude of continuously driving a wedge of division and the delusional support we give will hinder our collective growth as a nation. All these things culminate into Crises that mostly swallow innocent people and anyone including you can be a victim. What is wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it and what is right is right even if no one is doing it. Also, doing the right thing the wrong way makes that right thing look bad. |
