I registered in the year 2008 after bn a guest reader for years when I do not even know that I can register on the platform free of charge.

I could remember those good old years when Nairaland used to be like Quora Website.
Those days, you see people dissecting topics with utmost intelligence.
We were like brothers and sisters.
We were so matured in our arguments.
U hardly know anyone from your tribe here cos then, we were all Nigerians.
You read news and get information here and you will have no reason to doubt the info cos it was always true info.
Chaiiii...I yearn for those good old days.

Well, against all odds, I still love the page.
Nairaland is the first page I open in my Computer or phone everyday.

I see reason God has not really given power to the youths of this country to lead.
How can sensible youths be in the fore front with those that want to destroy their future.
What will then happen when this power is totally handed over to them?
Until we the youths sincerely become ready to help ourselves, God will not send His help to us.
How can a willing suicide bomber be praying to God to give him a very bright future?
Praying to God to give you what you are willingly throwing away.
We should not mock God ooo.

They are trying to wipe away evidence of their rigging.

BVAS is law, you cannot be allowed to destroy evidence.
You know one thing. This case is hanging INEC at the most difficult place.
If they allow the data in the BIVAS, truth will be revealed and INEC atrocities will come to light.

If they engage in spoliation of evidence (legal term for tampering or destructions of evidence), the judge can adopt adverse inference charge against INEC.
Adverse inference charge is where the judge will award negative judgement against the party that destroyed the evidence.
So, in either ways, Obi has upper hands.

One more way to identify real N1000 note.

Hold the Note up directly to light, look at the symbol I marked with red.
You will see that the symbol will form opposite of itself.
Those two up and down thick coloured angles will become plain while the two right and left plain angles will become thick coloured.

Education › Re: See The Evil Happening In Uniport! by Psoul(m): 1:42pm On Feb 10, 2023
Dripty:
In the department of Chemistry, there's this course we take as a faculty course: General Chemistry II (Chem131.2). An easy course, quite easy, but with a huge number of failures. People are intentionally being given carry-overs by these very wicked lecturers. We wrote this course on the 4th of February, normally it shouldn't take more than one hall to contain the students writing it, but it took the whole 5 halls, full to the brim because of the number of students being given carry-overs unjustly, with more and more students trooping in to write this paper, imagine where invigilators stay to invigilate, that's where students were being squeezed in to write this exam cause of lack of space, and this is just my department alone.

After writing the exams, these chemistry lecturers move around looking for students who want to pass the exams, and asking them to write down their names and pay money, while they fail the rest students, even people who should make a perfect result are given a straight F! Isn't this beyond wickedness?! Even the devil cannot be this wicked!

Students would pass very difficult courses, write their projects and defend successfully, but still have this course holding them back, and one can't graduate without it, that's what these lecturers use to hold people back. You have U2016s still writing this course in 2023! People that ought to have finished with their masters. This is not even the height of this evil, even students who pay money which is almost half of the school fees for the whole year, to pass, are still being failed so that they'll pay another money again. And for those having extra year, you're also paying another school fees while you still remain in school. I'm telling you guys even the devil cannot be this wicked! But unfortunately this is happening in a whole UniPort!!

70% of people who have dropped out in my department alone, dropped out because of this course, how long should this evil keep happening? Just because of the few lecturers who want to enrich themselves at the detriment of the students and the image of the University. These students who have dropped out, imagine the stories they have to tell to students in other schools?

My philosophy of life is, anything you keep quiet to, you encourage, you not only encourage but you're part of it, I cannot keep quiet to this evil anymore!

Students are being failed unjustly! Imagine going for practicals, writing the tests and exams acing everything, only to get an F. Doesn't this contradict the essence of going to school?

I believe sunlight is the best disinfectant, exposing this to the public will put a stop to this evil. If it doesn't, I will be back here!

Please move this to the promise land
I don't think you are very sure of this your allegation.
Lecturers going around asking for students that are willing to pass their exams and collecting their name.
Haba...has it become this bad?
Then, if you are sure that u passed exam that they failed you, you have the right to write to the Senate for remarking of your scripts.
If the lecturers are going around asking for money from student to pass their courses, silently make a video of such, create Twitter account and call him out if you do not want to report him to the school authority. With that, it will go trending and action will be taken by the school.

Exposing it here is just for fun. If u really want to expose it. get evidence and use Twitter and tag known bloggers and celebrities.

I don’t want to block him and I don’t want to offend him ,but when I take a picture with a random male friend and I upload it on my status ,he tells me he is jealous that the guy is an idiot for holding me or touching me. Asking for my recent pictures and sending me my old pictures that I don’t even remember existed.

We told the Yorubas to stop that dirty games they are playing with the Fulanis.
We told them to stop the hating on the Igbos just because they were eating and dinning with the Fulanis.
They labelled the Igbos "wailers"
The exhibited so much hatred and disregard to the Igbos
They called them all sorts of names
They humiliated the Igbos that are in their land.
Chased them away, try to stop their businesses.
Now, the Yorubas are soliciting the help of the same Fulanis the Igbos warned them against and they are not getting it.
Still, they are feeling that Igbos are the right ppl to vent their anger on instead of the people they are having issues with.
The Igbos will surely stand victorious.
Don't fight the people that their God is strongly behind them.
You will surely be disgraced.

Elkidz:
Please I need a good advice on this issue from matured minds.

A friend of mine called me yesterday and was seriously crying that she wants her daughter that just got married to come back.

REASON:
Last year, her daughter of 21 years got married. From the look of things, the marriage was contracted on falsehood.
The man( daughter's hubby) was introduced to the girl by another woman. The young man and his mother presented themselves as very good people. The young man claimed to have money and working in Abuja as "interior decorator" . He made the girl believed that he has money where's he was borrowing to do the the marriage rites.
After the first stage of the traditional rites, he lied to the girl that bank seized his money because someone from abroad sent more than the approved amount (ie. millions) into his account. The girl had to use the little money she received as salary to sort out certain things.

To cut the long story short, marriage was scheduled, on the eve of the wedding (the bridal shower night) , the young man beat the girl blue and black to the embarrassment of everyone present including his own friends, that was how the bridal shower ended with the poor girl crying all throughout the night. This is just because of flimsy excuse, to make matters worst, the girl was some weeks old pregnant which he's aware of.
To worsen the situation, after marriage, the man left the lady in the village with the parents, two days after marriage he travelled for a job, while the girl is left alone in the village without any pocket money and without any job since she's stopped the job she was doing before marriage. She's just Living at the mercy of the guy's parents with the mother treating her like trash.

Please Mod kindly push to the front page, I need matured advice.
The girl wanted a very rich man as her husband.
The guy packaged himself as bn rich.
Then they got married.

Marry for love and not for just money.
Next thing u will hear is that the man don use am do money ritual go marry another woman.

Today, a friend of mine invited me to the traditional marriage ceremony of his brother in-law......

After travelling for over 2hours via my keke, so we finally got to our destination.

After exchanging pleasantries, kola nuts and other traditional rites were done, then it was left for the main dowry which was #2000.
It was then the bigger problem came because the groom's family didn't come with cash. They insisted on doing transfer but the bride's family insisted on it, saying it must be paid with cash.

Omoh, the whole thing became funny grin. The bride's elder brother kept insisting on it until a POS attendant was invited into the situation. The dowry's money was later withdrawn and paid in cash.

Now, my question is, is it right to pay Bride price via transfer considering the new currency policy that's affecting everyone at this moment? Or the groom's family could have withdrawn the money and kept it until the D-day while it was crystal clear it could have expired due to the deadline of the naira swap?

Mods abeg make una shift this thread to the permanent site so that make other enlightened nairaladers for torchlight the matter small
How were they expecting to pay dowry online.
It is not acceptable and cannot be.
They mean that for the period they were planning to come, they never made provision for 2k dowry in cash.
That is silly.

Just three days down the line, the reality is setting in and people could not buy or sell because of paucity of new notes and the politician that was taught to be the ones to bear the brunt do not join the ATM queue to withdraw the new note.

In my area, I have not heard of any big politician complain, it's just a call from bank managers and bags of new notes are taken to their houses, so will want to ask, in your area who is bearing the brunt: the politician or the masses
Problem with us in this country is that we hate change, even the ones that will have positive effect on us.

Secondly, we are too much in a hurry to see the effect of the change, even when the effect is not supposed to be spontaneous. When we don't see the benefits instantly, we start condemning the change. I've never supported most things done by this administration. For this one, I support them. It may not be palatable for us now, but the end will be lovely.

Most educated ones, dropped what their education taught them and started following beer palour talks.

Finally, we hate making sacrifice for changes.

This new Naira issues is for the betterment of the country. If you don't understand it, ask questions. We should understand that sacrifices have to me made by most of us, especially, the poor and the middle class. The looters and the rich may look a bit ok now, but at long run, they will start counting their loses.
