No they werent, he's not the greatest actor, the highest grossing bond, and alot that loved him then changed thier tune after the quantum of solace.
Connery is in no doubt an exceptional actor but moore will have been perfect if he was younger, how is 45 young?? i think he was even the oldest bond!!!
Im not even a chronic bond fan but i remember moore very well i was a fan of some of his other works, your not the only one that grew up watching him love! who didnt? The closest to ians man was definitely pierce, tall dark handsome and posh, danial craig is blonde blue eyed and chavy! they might as well cast eastenders max next!
Being the most recent bond is definitely in craigs favour, its nothing to do with the original bond character, neither was his casting. The movies are drifting further away from flemings books as it is!

@ THREAD,
Reading through majority of posts, I see so many hypocritical replies. What the OP posted happens all around us and we behave as if this is a new thing under the sun. shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
Let's advice him [even if we grill him and rub it in] or shut the F@#k up. cool cool cool cool

@ OP, seek spiritual help from your pastor and matured people who can give you honest advice. If you woman can forgive you fine, but if not learn your lessons and go on with life.
guvna:
So much criticism here, some decent support and advice for a brother going through his own faults and weakness, which he chooses to bear, possibly for a way out and help. Few decent people here have offered useful advice and God bless them.

Brother, meditate and search within for self discipline and control as another has said here. Does not seem you have gone too far with any of your girls friends so I suggest you cut off ASAP.

And keep away from them, most especially her friends.

He without sin must cast the first stone!
you guys are right, the guy is heading for big problems in his future- even if his desperate fiance marries him, theres only soo much humiliation a woman can take.
to me he just sounds like a pig, I wont put it down on self control issues or indiscipline. He knows what hes doing is wrong and he has embraced it. Most men can claim all sorts but the truth is they lack respect.

the only reason moore probably wont go on most peoples radars is because he was old when he took the roles. If he were younger he would have been perfect!
Its funny how most here like daniel craig, guessing because hes the most current one, hes the only bond some will know. He is the least liked and when he was given the role there was outrage from bond lovers, i think it was cos hes blonde and has blue eyes and isnt that handsome- doesnt go with the book!

I agree Lord reed, I think they dont see it when they do it. It when is hits the fan they realise they have no friends, so instead of finding comfort in one they spend all the time alone or building bridges!

hmmm- i see it from your perspective iice, Some people dont like others around them for too long.
Starting a new relationship will probably never affect people like that, since they dont tend to be close to other anyway.

Thank you soo much kilode! That news is very dissapointing to hear! only in Nigeria! imagine they even disrespected the law!
would it have been soo difficult to set up ballots at the high commisions in foreign countries? or to implement an online voting system specific for those with nigerian passports? mshew!

Im sure your girl knows your dealings, shes just turning a blind eye.

You dont love her, you dont respect her, you should let her go

It seems to me like shes besotted with you, but maybe she deserves more.
Romance › Appreciating Friendships <3 <3 <3 by queensmith(op): 8:55pm On Jan 17, 2011
I'm sure every woman has that 'close friend' that dissapears when shes found a man, only to reappear when things go awry.
Im sure alot of you know what im talking about! You know the 'bff' that only calls your phone when shes having problems wit her man (some even periodically).
Some not only abandon friends, but family as well, . . . . . befriending the boyfriends family and eventually losing touch with the 'outside world'
I have a friend like this, since im the one with the big mouth grin I pointed out to her that we only ever see her when shes having problems, since ive noticed she only calls to talk about the issues she has with her man (and not even listen to the advise one gives her!) and she responded with 'is that not what friends are for'?? I was shocked at her response! if she were any closer to me i probably would have given her a slap! But instead im gonna put this up for discussion

Is that really what friends are for?
Why do some women abandon their lives when they meet a man?
Should women let go of their daily routines to spend time with their bf's? is it healthy for relationships?
Is a boyfriend more important than a friend?
Is it possible that we overlook real love in a friend to search for absent love in a man?
Can you get the same level of (non romantic) intimacy from a friend as you can in a man?- since we know love and sex don't go hand in hand.
If we can, why are we soo adamant to sacrifice relationships, for the simple presence of the opposite sex?
Romance › Re: Most Igbo Girls Marry Late Why? by queensmith: 7:09pm On Jan 17, 2011
Probably the funniert thing ive ever heard! Igbo girls marry exceptionally early! In fact they are the ones that drop everything and anything they might be doing to get married! But like everything in this world its a class thing- most of my igbo friends are upper class, they do all sorts of degrees; phds and masters before they even CONSIDER getting married! Whilst the lower or working class ones my age are all married with kids

I always encourage people who dont know what they are talking about to keep quiet, @Bankylan- where did you hear childbirth after 30 is always a challenge? Just because children are having children in Nigeria doesnt mean only children can have children! The average age of childbirth in the uk is 29, and im almost very sure the high incidence of underage pregnancies that contributed to that. So on average most adult women are having thier first offspring at the age of 32 and above.

Seedord247 where did you read all the nonsense you wrote? Are you being serioushuh Who told you people need validation to be happy? If thats what they taught you at school you better ask for a refund, ive never heard better b*llshit! Only those that lack esteem need any sort of validation for anything. I dont remember the last time i needed permission to laugh and according to neurologists,'happy hormones' are not released when 'validators' demand them! Who is the validator and validatee? If all the women you know can only be happy when you allow them, only experienced happiness when they got married or thier only recognizable 'acheivements' were being married; then i will advise you to move out of the jungle! Mshew,i dont blame you dudes anyways, its all your sense of joy beleiving your needed to be happy!

No support for a bum/scrub!  wink We however differ outside of that in terms of opinions on what is acceptable and what's not but it's kewl. btw Jamaican men IN Jamaica do take care of business and their women however, they like to play the role of "lover/FATHER" that's the only curse of having a man esp. Jamaican man, who makes more money.  undecided
yea i agree! your 100% right! thats what my friend and hairdresser told me. That the men in jamaica are all rounders! they work hard and take care of the family! But the jamaican men abroad. . , . . . . . . whooooo! o God! lol

I would so it all for him so long as he is taking care of household, s3xual lol, and emotional needs I may have as his other half and is more than willing to show his appreciation. A slob/lazy backside man will never last with me as I am about taking care of business but if it is necessary then so be it. I don't live for others so I don't care how I am seen.

Definitely! if he had a disability or condition that rendered him incapable of actually working and making any money, definitely! Its not his fault!
I don't live for others so I don't care how I am seen.

yea but if one is financally strappin down for her man I wouldnt know what else to call it?

but anyways thats beside the point, financially taking care of your man is wrong! in every area and every aspect. It sounds wrong! Just wrong! wrong wrong wrong! lol
Would you pursue a relationship with ANY MAN (except for trey songz grin) knowing you will be his sole provider? Would it make sense for ANY WOMAN to marry a man incapable of financially taking care of herself? Would you be proud of your daughter is you knew she was financially responsible for her man? Proud of your son having his woman financially responsible for him??

And for all you know this man may not actually be using he, what if hes not? what is he genuinely loves her, and genuinely has problems, will that make what shes doing sensible?
Romance › Re: Help! I'm Above 30 And Under Pressure To Get Married by queensmith: 4:57am On Jan 17, 2011
no1 forget about your age- I know everyone will try to write you off and give an expiry date, thats the mentality most have unfortunately. Just take it that its ignorance and ignore. You should know that some only like to knit-pik the 'wrong' in others. Most wont even notice anything good youve done with yourself but rather just lament over the fact your not married!
no2 I think you need to let parents, friends and relatives understand that your happiness is most important to you. And you wont get married just to comfort them. Being married for the sake of it isnt as great as it seems.
no3 take your mind off the matter, if you dont you may seem desperate and attract the sort you dont want to.
no3 ENJOY your single life!! I cant even stress how important it is! I dont understand why a woman will feel her happiness is predicated on the presence of a man! You should travel around, embrace your friendships, get to know yourself, read loads, fulfil your fantasies, singlehood is freedom! you have nothing to worry about, you dont have to compromise, you dont have to worry, your not restricted.

'discovering yourself' may seem horridly cliché-ish, but alot of women have only ever been in relationships, can tell you everything you need to know about their partners, but nothing about themselves. If anything to me thats a wasted life, basically lived for another. Most women end up like this when they go into relationships, giving up on dreams, severing careers and compromising their happiness. You should enjoy the freedom you have with yourself while it lasts, cos a marriage will end it.

@ Jennifer , yes i understand what you mean now

I used to think the same thing, just because of the way alot of us like to talk

if you pay good attention you would realise there are an equal number of single Nigerian mothers and pregnant teenagers

just that a Nigerian will most likely keep it quiet, or lie about her status or the paternity of her kids

yes your right a nigerian will find it much more disgraceful- which is why alot of them have abortions

whilst other cultures don't really feel the need to, because pre-marital pregnancy is more accepted

same ish different toilets lol
