The Niger military with a combined force of less than 15,000 boots including Airforce personnel isn't up the 82 composite Division Enugu, 3 Armoured Div Jos, 81 Division Lagos Garrison Command. They can't withstand Land and Air forces of the Nigerian and Ecomog forces. The after-effect of the military action is the reason for caution. Let's not add the 1st Division in Kaduna and 2nd Division in Oyo.

This.
What educated illiterates dont know.

We may win a battle, but most likely lose the war: Humanitarian crisis will end up in Nigeria - not northern Nigeria as many like to fantasize. Flow of weapons and terrorists from all over the Sahel plus another country becoming a direct appendage of the little resources we are managing.

The cost of war is terribly skewed in no one's favour.

Military intervention in Niger is an unworthy adventure that wont get us anything but trouble.

Any govt weighs interest, pros and cons before military intervention expecially when it is outside your shores. What is our gain in mobilising our army into Niger?
Since Wagner is in the mix don't you think it seems to be proxy conflict that is brewing? Honestly tinubu is in serious quagmire now. Will dance to Moscow or USA?
If I am in his shoes I will chose diplomacy.

Even North Nigeria expecially Bubu will not like military action in Niger Republic lead by Nigeria. They will see it as a fight against them.

Do you mind shedding light on the bolded?
Politics / Re: Tinubu Should Consider Regional Ministers by Raheeqilmaktoom: 8:59pm On Jul 29, 2023
mrvitalis:

Very very wonderful idea honestly it makes total sense

But they won't because it would expose nepotism

Some regions would get bigger budget than others and it would be too obvious

grin

When will you ever learn to think straight?
Are you under 12? If so, your missteps may be forgiven if not, you need to check yourself.

Do you mean the infrastructure budget for instance (roads) will be the same across all regions - a flat allocation of say 50b a year when each of these places have their own peculirities? Health? Education? Transport

An awesome idea from the OP but you just have to show yourself.

I believe the real motive is to address issues from a common place - most regions share almost same peculiarities an factors, so it will be easier to derive solutions than the current system where we are dumping solutions that worked in say coastal Akwa-Ibom on sahel Sokoto and expecting results.

Remove the tribal cap FGS.

why does the tradition in the vast niger delta states do not frown against illegitimate children? It’s such a norm and breeds uncontrollable youths when they grow up. Sometimes unproductive too.

In most of these places, a woman visit you once (and they are very eager to visit), you've unofficially become husband and wife.

3 years down the line (if it lasts that long) and the man gets tired, he sends her away with children in tow and move onto the next village beauty.

After Atiku felicitated with Peter Obi on his birthday yesterday, Kwankwaso and Saraki joined in wishing him well on birthday too.

If anything, I’d say I’m not surprised at Saraki’s post since he’s a refined gentleman and I suppose he’s even a closet friend of Obi, but Kwankwaso’s own is what surprised me.

Because not only did Kwankwaso lampoon whenever he got the chance Obi during last electioneering period, he was never shy dragging his entire ethnic region into his vituperative utterances then.

One now wonders what changed? Is this an evidence of political realignment?

quite shameful, the same you that you ain't aware that Dangote obtained loan is talking about education. Bail is free in Nigeria right but you and I know that is a facade, for the records I have applied for loan many times and denied and I have brilliant and sustainable ideas.the way you argue make me think you are a Nigerian arguing from the fringes of Eriteria. I'm quite sure you have never applied for a loan before. We are talking about what is obtainable in Nigeria and you are giving a picture of an ideal society, which is on the contrary in Nigeria

1. Only the un-informed (of which category you clearly belong) would be unaware of Dangote taking a loan to finance his refinery project. He definitely coudnt have financed the project all by himself and its not how such projects work, question and bone of contention is you saying he took loan from govt. and I saying he took from commercial partners - he made mention of it himself during the commissioning, and I didnt just wake up one morning to start learning about Dangote refinery, I have been following the project from public sources for a couple years now.

2. Sorry for your unfortunate experience accessing loans from banks.
There's this thing they call credit worthiness - who knows you, in your line of business how big are you, can you do what you said you can do, who will vouch for you, if things dont go as planned - how do you plan to repay and importantly, whats your history regarding loans etc

If a dead banker is to ressurect today, he will approve a N1b loan for Dangote (without even understanding all details) before he approves N1m loan for you, he believes that come rain come shine, his money is safer with Dangote than with you.

Dangote isnt the reason you are unsuccessful.

Work on yourself, your ideas, your brand and social capital.

You are getting some financial advise for free here.
