On a serious note the noise here is becoming too much and irrelevant, the thread has lost its purpose.

Small misunderstanding and mistagging with no comprehension from all parties involved is the issue here.

The guy advising people on not paying anyone for any job did not do anything wrong but guess he only mistakenly tagged someone that has been of help here.

The hussen guy deleting his account was not necessary because one person wrongly accused him, he has been helping people according to what you all have been saying here and definitely God will keep blessing him so he does not need to get angry because someone allegedly accussed him of selling jobs.

But since he has deleted his account definitely other people will arise and keep doing the good work and people will keep getting connects, jobs and APLs by God's Grace both from NL, online, offline etc so please enough with the long ish. Peace..

Its good to give your piece and call for peace but put things in proper perspective.

Regarding Hussen, there has been consistent attempts from different individuals to drag the guy down for while now, not upto 3 weeks ago something similar happened, he had to clarify that HE SELLS NO SLOT and put his words out there. He just might have had enough of all the negativity and what not.

And this has been a practise by some individuals for a very long time. He wasnt the first to be chased away with such habit and its sad just seeing people with no value destroying what may mean a lot to others.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Algeria Rejects Foreign Military Intervention In Niger by Raheeqilmaktoom: 5:59pm On Aug 07, 2023
id911:
Aug 6 (Reuters) - Algeria is categorically against any military intervention in Niger, Ennahar TV said late on Saturday citing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

"A military intervention could ignite the whole Sahel region and Algeria will not use force with its neighbours," Tabboune said in an interview with local media.

"A military intervention could ignite the whole Sahel region and Algeria will not use force with its neighbors," Tabboune said in an interview with local media on Saturday.

"No solution is possible in Niger without the participation of Algeria, as it is concerned by what is happening in this neighboring country," he said

https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/algeria-opposes-military-intervention-niger-tv-citing-president-2023-08-05/

Algeria with impressive military capabilities is against use of force.

Algeria shares border with Niger (a weak state for a very long time), Libya (with different warlords controlling parts of the country) and Mali (the sahel's poster child of instability) yet, Algeria has been able to keep their troubles away.

But Nigeria with a 1000km border with Niger (thats unmanned) is thinking of military interventions and some idiots are cheering on the idea because they feel they are doing northerners.

AlexBells:
Never you believe that a day like this would come when the Igbo Nation would stand in the best interest of peace, the best interest of OUR Nigeria and the best interest of Africa.

We where greeted by the news of the coup in Niger, while we condemned it to the greatest degree we deployed our God given wisdom because they say that an elder doesn’t stay in the House and the goat would birth in the stake. I have vehemently clearly always maintained that the Igbo Nation is the elder in the Nigerian project and our United maturity have shown that God did not make mistakes In entrusting us the leadership of Africa.

People think leadership is about the power you wield but leadership is about the humanity in you. Often the people of Niger have boasted how they provided support for Nigeria during Biafra, it could have been natural for the Igbo Nation to take our pound of flesh in situation like this, but no that’s what makes us human, a people of love and justice.

AlaIgbo is United by Justice, it should be noted that during this period we all jointly condemned a military invasion of Niger, Africa must not forget. We still stand for justice and engagement with the junta to either revert the elected democracy or conduct a fresh election however we are of the opinion that from a patriotic point of view, Nigeria can not leave 200 million Nigerians where about 70% are in multi dimensional poverty to wage war against 25 million poor Niger.

In the strongest term, we condemn the coup but will never support military invasion when all peaceful channel have not been exhausted. Our Northern neighbors who attacked our stand at first later realized their mistake and I beg my Igbo brothers and sisters who may have been offended by the earlier backlash from the North to forgive them, you don’t throw away the baby with the bath water. As far as the Nigerian project is concerned we would always look out for our youngest sister (North), we also wish that our immediate younger sister (West) tone down their aggression.

I thought Fulani men are warriors. They have been causing mayhem in Nigeria by filling farmers and villagers and now it's time to fight the real fight, they are chkickening out because this fight will be at their door step.
I didn't know that they are this much of cowards. The reason why Yorubas are clamoring for this war is because they know that it will most likely not get to southwest, if this issue is happening in Benin Republic, Yorubas will not beat the drum of war against them because Yoruba land will be the entry point into Nigeria.

We were giving the impression he was pragmatic during the elections, but it seems international politics is way out of his league.

The railway is one, now Imagine using electricity as a sanction!

Two main rivers flow through Nigeria Cameroon has built a dam on one, generating electricity and flooding us downstream every year they release excess water.

The second river, Niger allowed us to dam (even though they could have built a dam themselves) with the agreement of selling electricity to them.

Now let me tell you one possible sequence of events: Nigeria goes to war with Niger, the Junta is defeated, the country falls under command of different warlord. The west that instigated us into war strikes a deal with the different war Lords supplying them arms while their uranium export continues, this time probably cheaper since no legitimate government is watching. The Chinese or the Russians come in to help rebuild Niger (at this point the west cares less so long it doesn't stop uranium export). Niger ask the Chinese to biuld them a dam like they did for Ethiopia to avoid reliance on Nigerian electricity. They build a dam for Niger upstream and boom that is the end of hydro power in nigeria.

So what is the long term gain of this military misadventures to Nigeria? A failed Niger at our Northern border flooding us with small arms and an end of hydro power generation in nigeria.

This is just one of the numerous adverse implication of this war. Men we should stop voting for old men.

Sacking the Nigerien military might be no big deal for Nigerian Armed Forces but are we ready for the aftermath?

Foreign nations might just be baiting us into going into Niger to sack the junta, there after, say Libya and Mali look the other way while terrorists invade Niger with enough weapons and men to trap our troops in a foreign country starting off a war of attrition that eats up Nigeria's budget and economy, impoverishes the populace the more not forgetting that majority of Nigeriens will become refugees in Nigeria, the instability this will cause will take us 30 years to clear - BH crisis is getting to 15 years.

Theres no winning here, just brash foolishness.

Ai there are a thousand scenarios on what can happen and not many of them look promising.

Say we invade, oust the military and put in a civilian regime, who will the civilian regime depend on? Not the same military?

Libya has a surplus supply of weapons on the black market, the sahel has a surplus of poor people that will give their lives to fight for whoever for $5 a day while we have 1,000Km border with Niger that we can't man and our armed forces stretched thin, isnt this a recipe for disaster?

Buhari with his many flows was treating heads of lesser african states like heads of states, imagine him showing enough courtesy to Mahamat Deby; son of Idris Deby with whom he has a very long history, thats what earned him their respect, from Senegal to Kenya, heads of states were coming to him for private personal visits, he had soft power and used it appropriately, he knew what happened in Chad with the Deby's(literally a coup) yet, looked the other way because of the consequences but uncle just want to arm strong everyone to show that he is the new sheriff.

My fear for him is he risks importing others' instability to Nigeria and his govt, there is enough trouble in Nigeria, don't go looking for more.

What of Nigeria military interventions in Gambia, Sierra Leone and Liberia

If you know a thing about Internation relations and geopolitics, you wont even be saying what you are saying.

What the Niger junta did - treating highly placed Nigerian emissaries with such contempt and cutting off ties with Nigeria is a statement: they are ready to go the whole log, can Nigeria do so?

Military interventions arent just go in and out, the coupist have to be taken out, a civilian regime brought and then defended - by Niger soldiers (who are the initial coup makers), if Nigeria is to take up that task, we would spend $m in hundreds and at end still have to leave Niger for Nigeriens. is Nigeria in the position of paying that price with our own internal turmoils?

Who ever advised the president to make mention of military intervention when he did should have been sacked, it is one of the most foolish yet profound statements he made since becoming president (after the subsidy is gone gaffe without understanding what it is), now the president has to wear the humiliation he brought on himself.

Is Niger now expected to make use of our rails and ports when we can easily weaponise everything we have against them?

Nigeria will not fight a war. Nigeria will sack the coupists and restore the legitimate power. By that, we don't need to face the ISIL group which the legitimate Nigerien govt has kept abay. Mali is receiving serious beating in the hands of the ISIL group so Mali is not a problem. Niger is too close to us to be having coup plotters in power. The coup Leader will experience same reversal of gains Mali is witnessing today.

Who will depend the Govt. tht will be placed in Niger? Nigerian soldiers? So, Nigeria will start spending $300m a year to support a regime in another country?

Nigeria should just pay more attention to her borders, the coupist stay in power or nor, we will be hardest hit, any instability that befalls Niger will see Nigeria seeing a rise in refugees, arms and crimes - these are things that should matter to us, not what sort of govt they are doing in Niger.

The country as currently structured has the north with the 1. population (market), 2. Produtive lands for agriculture 3. Minerals 4. Potential for serious industrialization.

The SW has the ports and the industrial base, also the center for entertainment industry.

The SS has crude/gas and maritime economy.

The major driver of SE economy is trading. Who would you sell to when your 4 of next door neighbours sell the same product on the same street?

Because u don't travel.

If u have travelled to the north,u will know why some demands aren't out of place.

Most of them are found where u can't live doing businesses and pls, don't say what u don't know.

I once served in Bunza LGA. When the jos crisis came up,the chief of that Local govt area refused to be a party to the crisis as some elements wanted a reprisal but he refused.

This was what he told us: he said there many igbos who do what their people can not do,such as mechanic, chemist, pharmacy and name it. He said if u fight them and kill them all,who will service their cars, sell medicines,do child delivery and the rest for them.

I don't put my mouth and anything that involves hatred against the igbos...learn their ways, how they survive and their secrets of wealth instead of hating them.

I have been privileged to be what I am today because of igbos.

I beg to differ on the bolded.

Most of the people dooing such businesses are following the market - the community they are doing that in, they could have stayed in their hometowns to do such businesses, if they would be patronised.

Its a win-win for everyone, the Igbos where they are are not doing the people of that place a favor by doing such a business - they are following the market (one that would have been filled by a member of the community if the demand for it is real and one that would have been difficult for them to find in their own hometowns) and the members of the community have a service offered them in their communities, and it is healthy as it is.

But the moment outrageous demands and the need to dominate and emasculate start creeping in, they are seeds of dsicord as most societies in Nigeria are territorial (East, West, North).

Imagine if a minority had won the Presidential election for the 1st time in Nigeria, then a military coup from the Majority tribes of Hausa or Yoruba then seize power to the joy of the majority tribes who support such return of power.

The whole world must save Niger from military dictatorship and any attempt to illegally thwart the regime of a minority tribe.

Hausa and Djerma should allow the minority Tuareg/Arab to breathe in Niger Republic.

All those Russian flags the coup plotters produced en masse overnight and shared for their sponsored protesters will not save them. If he wants to rule, he should remove uniform, join or form a political party and contest. Anything short of that is a no no.

Not definitely.

Anti-France(nd by extension western) sentiments have been rising in the sahel for a very long time as the French mantained a chokehold kind of grip on these countries economies - they coud'nt get anything done without France's blessings, they use France given currency - the CFA, deposit their external reserves with the French, plus endemic poverty not necessarily caused by the French but seen by the populace to have the backing of their colonialists in addition to the French support for all kinds of leaders so long as they 'stayed in line' not minding how the citizens were treated.

It was a matter of when, not If.

All these people need to do is stir up anti-French sentiments and the whole nation would be up in arms.

I even forgot to mention the sanctions Nigeria alone can impose on Niger from electricity to imported goods, free movement of trade, etc. Too many ways to cripple their economy and turn the people against him in no time.

Even when it comes to use of force. Niger republic have 12,000 personnels which is less that half the size of civil defense not to talk of the army , Navy or air force.

All this is excluding other neighbouring country forces. We don't even need to carry equipment over distances.

Please stop with this already.

Use of force is not just counter productive but also an ill thought proposition. Nigerien military might be smaller than Nigeria's but Nigeria wont have any positive to draw out of such adventure. We are dealing with weakened economy and internal security issues yet, you are thinking of outward adventures with no true or any real positive for Nigeria.

The after effect of whatever happens to be the fallout of ECOWAS' action will be felt the most by Nigeria above all ECOWAS countries, this shoudnt be lost on the 'the president whos eager to show his followers he can move moutains'.
