@IFELEKE: your quote,,,But when your so called major party are not saying anything and people you claim are to put them to check are not complaining then what is your own?
Get me right,
I had refused to comment on this issue since the news broke out because i believe it should be left for appropriate authorities to handle(THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CHURCH,THE MEMBERS,THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES IN THE COUNTRY AND ULTIMATELY,GOD)

Now you re talking,,,since the major party(s) re keeping quite over this,,,haven't you heard the saying that silence means consent!!,,,Further more ,,,if you ask me,,,the CHURCH in Nigeria is a major problem in Nigeria,,,,Infact very major problem and this was substantiated by the just concluded PFN nad CAN meeting,,,The Church in Nigeria has a great potential to position the country but I would tell you the truth,,,the church has lost its calling and purpose,,,and until we start telling oueselves the truth,,,we would achieve little or nothing,
Christianity EtcRe: Deeper Life Bible Church ~w.f Kumuyi - What's Your Take. by REALTRUTH1: 4:19pm On Mar 26, 2009
The Deeper Life Church has a good intention for what it takes to be a christian,,,but there is too much religion in the church. But that has been the problem of Chrsitianity all along. If you think deeper life is too deep,,,there are Christians who for over 400 years in USA have never watched TV,used anything technological,,,they believe if you drive a car its a sin and that you re going to hell.
The truth is that,,how long shall these old? There is no doubt about the fact that Jesus is Lord,,,but Christianity has given birth to lots of confussion,,,and there lots of manipulative teachings trying to doctored people to behave in a certain way.
Kumuyi,,remians one of my favorite Nigerian pastor apart from Tunde Bakare,,,I listen to some of his teachings,,I watch TV and that in no way affect my relationship with God.Everythinh in this world have its Normal and abnormal uses,,,if U can use d Bible for both n ormal and abnormal uses,,,so also is the TV,,,,The fact that there evil stuff in the TV does not make TV evil,,,Deeper life people use the internet,,,they re on face book,,,why don't they assume the internet is evil because there are more evil stuff via the internet than TV, may God help us all!!!

You see,,we don't have to be unnecessarily patriotic,,,most countries in the world re corrupt but Nigeria is more corrupt than many other countries. For instance,,in the US,,an attempt to bribe is seen as corruption to to talk of actually carrying out the bribe as seens in the case of the Governor of Illinoi trying to sell Obama's senate seat.
But in Nigeria, politicians would steall Billions of Naira and nobody does anything agaisnt him,,,Truly without any biase,,,Nigeria is amongst the first the three in the ranking of coruption in the world.Even Ghana,Cotonou and Togo are better of than Nigeria in terms of corruption.Corruption in Nigeria is a way of Life,,,its in all sphere of the Nigerian lifestyle.

Tell me your religion and your place of worship and I will mention scandals rocking your boat.
The controversial Jet belongs to the Redeemed Church and The church is answerable to The Board Of Trustees,Church Members and God
I don't know how many times this needs to be repeated
As a Good Nigerian, you can report the church to the EFCC instead of idle rantings.
Adeboye will never come out to speak on the jet issue because it's not HIS!
You can continue to shout Blue Murder to The Heavens very soon you will be tired of your rantings(just like every other people that have brought the subject matter up on this forum) and face serious issues battling the nation
That is the problem with people who made God out man,,,,btw you and I,,,I will ask everyone to go through my post on this issue(Jet) to fish out if I had made any judgemental statement.Bottomline is that I have enough logical reasons to criticise this issue,,,but I would rather wait to hear the story of the major party involved in this saga,,,What do you mean by Judge?Real Christians re actually meant to put their leaders under check,,U mustn't assume they re always right cos in their best form,,,they are still MEN.
PoliticsRe: Pastor Adeboyes's Private Jet A Must Read by REALTRUTH1: 3:30pm On Mar 26, 2009
One thing people need to understand about criticism is that when you re being criticised,, what should bother is whether what you are criticised about is true or false and not whether the person criticising you is your enemy or friend.
If everybody keeps quite about this issue,,that doesn't make it right. That is the problem with religion,,religion makes ur leaders to be absolutely right even when they re wrong.I tell you the truth,,, RCCG as a matter of fact take back its step to where it actually started from,,,,In case you wanna know better about RCCG,,,go ask Pastor Tunde Bakare and Pastor Tony Rapu of this present House in lekki lagos.
why do you need 6000 parishes or branches when more than half of these pastors re not even born-again?what is the essence of that?

Pastor Adeboye Private Jet Until Pastor Adeboye puts up a defense or counter the mounting criticisms trailing this jet stuff,,,everybody or persons trying to defend the pastor re just short sighted and religiuos Bigots. In the US the CEOS of mega Multi-national company re being asked to drop their private jets because its being considered as luxury and waste of tax payers money.
Again I say on this issue,,,until Pastor Adeboye puts up a counter defense on this issue thats when I would truly see reasons.Far beyond the Jet saga, with due respect to Adeboye, RCCG is actually sliding from where it actually started from.Someone saying they have 6000 branches over the world.Do you know that many of the so called pastors in these branches or parishes are not even born-again,,,that is one of the church's biggest challenge. If you read the writers article very well without biase,,,you would know the writer is very informed about RCCG and church in Nigeria.
There are too many scandals in RCCG that are even worst than the private jet issue. The church needs to wake up and go back to where it actually started from,,,

Please tell me where it is you find that Divorce is against the teaching of God,,,going by ur own friend's case,,he eventually divorced the said wife,,that is exactly what he should have done and not waiting until the wife gets pregnant for another man,,A lot pf people with their limited understand of God's word would just be saying things out of context.

y so much debate about this? Those speaking against building of auditorium to shield millions of worshippers from rain and sun while giving them a befittin place to worship God are no more than agents of the devil. U guys are been blinded by just a structure that u fail to see the impact of these churches on the lives of their members. Covenant university is one of such monumental projects by churches, role models are been created, vices been eradicated and u talk about $60m been too much for a structure of that magnitude and importance? Who made u guys judges in the first place and how many lives have u impacted as individuals? have u ever paid the school fee of any one outside ur family? Please just ask God for fogiveness for saying HIS children are too poor to own a structure as tiny and as cheap as the auditorium. MEDIOCRES!!!!!.
Listen to me guy,,Who are those attending covenant University?do we have 3% of winners members attend the University?the answer is No.So why would members of a church that has a UNIVERSITY be going to University where their kids would bcome Cultist?Bottomline is that Jesus is Lord but some people like you would wait till the end of the world b4 you would know many of these pastors re building empires for themselves and thereby shortchanging innocent and gullible members. The spirit of greed and materialism has eaten deep into 99% of Nigerian pastors. Many of these things you see them doing re their ideas and not God.

Yes, you can marry without your parents consent.

It's your life, not theirs.

Stupid talk people make, even in advance world like US,,responsible couples still seek their paents consent,,,Ben Afleck refused getting married to Jennifer Lopez because of his mum objection of the relationship. You are saying its your life,,,if your parents had abandoned you and fail to give you the kind of care and training they gave to you,,am sure you would be a misfit and won't be attracted by any lady out there.
Whatever the case, if your parents object ur relationship or marriage,,,do everything within ur power to convince them of the relationship.I mean everything possible provide reasonable answers to their fears and doubts about the relationship.Your fiancee cannot claim to love you more than ur parents do at this point,,,most people in Nigeria gets married simply because they feel their mates arae getting married, Those advising you to disrespect ur parents won't be their anymore with you when you start having multiple issues in ur marriage.

Real Truth, to avoid repeating myself, go back and read what I wrote. I encouraged her to make her marriage work, but rather than being beaten by the man and who knows loosing her life in the process, separation was advised as the last resort. During separation, what if the man becomes remorseful and decides to change and maybe give his marriage a second chance. Separation is not a divorce.

That is exactly what am saying,,,if the man becomes remorseful and subsequently he is dating or sleeping with another lady,,,how do you reconcile that?I know of a similar separated case which result in the woman having a boy friend within one month and got pregnant for the boyfriend b4 the husband came for the lady with the pregnancy.Funny enough the man never knew his wife was pregnant for someone else until a fight broke out btw the man and the wife about 18 years later. If you read through this poster story very well,,she does not love this man anymore,,she feels this guy manipulated and took advantage over her.
My advice again is that she knows what is best for her,,,let her follow her Head this time around,,,she is the one in the marriage,,so she should decide using the head she failed to use 10 years ago.

@Amebo no1,,,U be real original amebo,,,,,abeg take am easy with this lady,,,You re verey correct in being upset with the poster. But my question is why do we always have issues like this repeating itself in relationship. Why would a lady get married to a man solely becos the man attends his church or fellowship,,,to me that is simply occultic,,
Truly its a sad story becos her father had warned,in some cases you would see these fraudulent marriages breaking homes all in the name of being born again,,,how can you see an obvious danger and you would not make a detour?Amebo just take it easy with her and encourage her. This is why you must do everything possible to get your parents and family support when it comes to marriage. The funny thing here is that this lady is now doubting the very faith with which she based her decision for getting married.
Like someone mentioned above, as christians, the concept of the traits of a serpent and dove must at all times be observed in all sphere of ur life. The church these days has become the melting pot for fraudulent and deceptive marriage. To the point you re taught what kind of sex you have to engage urself in but in marriage proper if both parties fails to explore one anothers sexual depth,,one of the party might end up satisfying his or her sexual urge elsewhere.Just too much pretense! This lady knows what is good for her,her head told her but she chose to listen to the voice of her pastor and vision. This is a clear conclussion that every man of God or whatever you call them in their best forms are still MEN(Human) forget all those lies they call visions to confuse, confound and captivate you in bondage.

Certainly not, reason beeing that a lot of people have died for Nigeria and their death seems to be in vain.Pa Alfred Rewane,M.K.O. Abiola,Kudirat Abiola and many other people who died for June 12.Nigerians are just not worth dying for,,they too timid, they don't wanna fight for what is there right. If Nigeria is worth dying for, Chief Gani Fawehinmi would have been Nigerias president when he contested in 2003.

I really don't know what the problem exactly is with so called professing christians.Does being a Christians prevents us from using our Heads?I have said and would always say that no man or any woman is particularly meant for any man or woman. If you didn't get married to this man, some other pewrsons would have been married to him and you also would have been married to some other persons, and ultimately, both of you would have been happen not married to one another.
Within christendom, particularly penticostal churches, there is an existence of monumental deception or frauddulent marriages. You would see a lazy brother seeing vision that God told him to marry a very hard working sister, also you would see a very lady sister who never took time out to develop her self academically seing revelation to get married to a man who had worked so hard to develop himself. In the past finding your partner in the church you worship works real good but these days, it is the highest form of marital fraud ever seen.
In your situation,I can not ask you to leave your husband neither can I ask you to stay. When your dad was warning you, you took his advice for granted.your common sense also told you but you refused to listen,Now you have to be the one to take up ur own decision.People just don't learn,,,Truly as the saying goes, a broken relationship is better than a broken marriage.Am sure you would be wishing you did not get married to this guy now.Next time and everything you do in life, use ur head first then you could ask God for help in prayers.Don't ever under estimate what your head tells you again.

Professionally, poverty is directly proportionate to poverty,,with the unprecedented rate of poverty all over the landscape of Nigeria is a clear indication of mentally messed up environment. The reason you still see some people have clothes on and looking like sane people is simply because Nigerians have a very strong shock absorber to assimilate suffering and poverty. However, at this rate it is becoming over bearing!!

Health3.5million Nigerians Mentally Sick!how True? by REALTRUTH1(op): 2:11pm On Mar 17, 2009
At least three and a half million adult Nigerians suffer from various mental illnesses, a survey has found.

Professor of Psychiatry, Oye Gureje, in a study he supervised, found that five per cent of Nigerians, who are 18 years and above, suffer from “prominent mental disorders.”

It is estimated that adult people constitute about 45 per cent of the over 140 million Nigerian population.

Gureje, Head of Department of Psychiatry, University of Ibadan, blamed the mental problem on the “extreme stress” that most people subject themselves to in daily life.

“If you are subjected to extreme stress, it can result in a mental disorder,” noted the psychiatrist, adding that the mental illnesses were prevalent in urban areas, because of the stressful living conditions.

Closely linked to stress, he said, is poverty, which is also capable of causing mental illness.

“Poverty can be a cause of stress, because you are worried all the time about how you are going to meet your basic needs, so that is a constant source,” declared the medical expert.

He also cited the abuse of alcohol and banned substances (hard drug), as well as poor parenting and child abuse, as being potent causes of psychotic (severe mental) disorders.

Gureje, President, Association of Psychiatrists of Nigeria, revealed this at the weekend, in Lagos, while delivering a lecture in commemoration of renowned psychiatrist, Prof. Adeoye Lambo.

Gureje emphasized that mental health was pivotal to general wellbeing, in his lecture titled: Mental Health of Nigerians – a Situation Analysis.

The scourge in Nigeria , he lamented, is worsened by the dearth of mental healthcare-givers, disclosing that only about 130 qualified psychiatrists are available in the whole of the country.

“The situation is such that we have more trainee psychiatrists than those who are qualified, and when they complete their training, they go abroad to seek greener pastures.

“We have more Nigerian psychiatrists in Britain than we have in Nigeria ,” Gureje said, lamenting that the brain drain was robbing the country of its best hands.

To improve the mental state of Nigerians, the psychiatrists urged government to better integrate mental care into the primary healthcare (PHC) system, while also calling for a policy to enlighten the public on the scourge.

“If people are not enlightened that mental health problems can be effectively treated, they don’t go to the hospital!

“And not just that, when people have the illness, they are stigmatized by the public, so, a lot of re-orientation has to be done towards changing that attitude,” he advised

How about those that are willing to go to school, but there is no fund, what are u guys saying these gruop of piple should do.
Nobody should marry them coz they are not educated or what are we saying?
That is why you would have to blame those parents who give birth to kids without adequate plans.Bottomline is that the world has changed! You must consider everything possible b4 making ur mind up on ur chosen spouse. The truth some parents don't have any business being parents. When you see some parents working very hard to equip their kids,do you think those parents are stupid?even if it means picking up a security job or whatever common go and do it and get ur kids educated. This to me is the only way you can spread future wealth. My very good illustration is Barack Obama and Mitchell Obama,,both parents didn't have the money in the world to send their kids to school but they pay the price,I would advice you go and read the audacity of Hope by Barack Obama.Infact you could just imagine that he was a homeless person sometimes ago in his life.
Also don't give birth to kids you can not take care,,Barack Obama has just two kids,,some people who do not have his education and wealth in Nigeria would have 7 kids,,,all these have to be care of and provided for,,people must as a matter of fact use their head in relationships period.

As for me,there is no two way about it been educated is a MUST,,,charecters, beauty etc are all deceptive,,,they all can be made up.You must be educated and continue to aspire and embrace education. To me its a culture I would want my self and my wife to give to our kids.Even if you don't work with your education/certificate, it helps you in many ways in life particularly decision making.
When an uneducated woman marries an educated man,,the story I narrated in my first post is likely re-enactment.
RomanceRe: Would You Marry A Person Who Doesn't Have College Education? by REALTRUTH1: 12:26pm On Mar 15, 2009
A lot of us simply don't know what we are talking about.About two weeks ago, A University lecturer with Rivers State University was killed by his uneducated wife in a fight that broke out btw the man and his wife. The reason for the fight was the husband requested that she should go back and take her School certificate and thereby get an education but the insistede she would not go.
Its the most stupid thing anyman would do after his parents and family would have suffered so hard to send him to school and the next thing is for him to get married to an illitrate, the saying of old that "if education is expensive try ignorance"still hold strongly. It does not matter whether you would have a job or not, education still remains the bedrock wth which people future can be shaped. Some people talked about Bill Gates, Bill is an excceptional personality he actually dropped out of college because he discovered his purpose early enough and he does not need the education to attain his purpose. So for those pointing at Bill Gates, what purpose or dreams do you have that would exchange for education?Bottomline, Bill gates is a strong advocate for education, all his kids are college graduate.
Barack Obama is an epitome of what education can do for anybody, look at his wife too. There are several Nigerians and other foreigners who are doing pretty well in USA than american citizens,,you want to know the reason,,,its education.Philip emegwali,Oby Ezekwesili and Ngozi Okonjo and many foreigners in US are doing extremely better than Americans simply cos of there education. If you listen to Obama,he continues to emphasise the need for every american to have a college degree,,he insists parents must know when to put off the TV and ask there kids to study and do their home work.
So you don't expect some parents paying the price to get their kids educated and some just sit their doing nothing only to expect one educated guy to come marry their daughter,,,that is rubbish.

FamilyRe: Divorce Proceedings 2 Months Into A Marriage. by REALTRUTH1: 9:09pm On Mar 11, 2009
People hide under religion to operate a fraudulent marriage. It doesn't matter how religious you are,ons a marriage gets to a point of this nature,it simply means in the first there was love rather it lust that inspired the marriage. The guy in question and based on this story is stupid guy,,the girl is not matured for marriage though she is matured enough for very good sex which she used in holding the stupid guy in question.
I am married and married to a very sweet but tough lady,,,on the hand am also tough so we both had a balance.she is smart and am smart.she is God fearing and I am same.she is beautiful and am also handsome. But all these didn't just come all at a bliss,,we had both had very tough experience with men and women alike as the case may be.At the time we were dating sex wasn't our focus, our focus was defined,it captures everything positive you can think of.My toughness didn't just come all of a sudden but as a function of the relationships i had been into,,thesame applies to her.
Bottomline, what am saying in essence is that, there is more into a relationship, dating or marriage than sex or going to bed.Marriage is simply RESPONSIBILITY,and responsibilty is a function what U ve got in ur HEAD and how to apply those stuff in ur HEAD to daily life challenges. Most people don't ve business being married. This guy should have simply use this girl as a girlfriend and not a wife. And as we speak here some people would make just thesame mistakes 2mrow.Not all relationships must end in marriage,,it doesn't matter if the girl is an angel or her name is character,,or good girl.Bottomline, No man or any Woman is particularly meant for any man or woman.
If the guy call it quit, both the guy and d girl would have learnt something which they would both take into their subsequent relationship. Its of no good when either party would end up killing the other in the future.

CrimeA Unilag First Class Honours Graduate Jailed For Defrauding Australian by REALTRUTH1(op): 5:24pm On Mar 11, 2009
A first class honours graduate of Geography, from the University of Lagos, Lawal Adewale Nurudeem, wept uncontrollably yesterday, at the Ikeja High Court, as he was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for defrauding an Australian woman of over N8 million.

Adewale was alleged to have, in November, 2007, under the pretext of being a British national involved in a fatal accident, defrauded Rosalene Sunna, an Australian, who, because of his unfortunate fate, kindly opted to extend financial assistance to him via the internet.

According to the information on the charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Adewale posted a pathetic picture of a Briton involved in a motor accident in Nigeria on the internet, with the aim of soliciting financial assistance from any kind individual.

Kind-hearted 56-year-old Rosalene fell for the scam and initially sent some money to Adewale who was hale and hearty in Lagos. To further milk Rosalene, Adewale appealed for more assistance and she subsequently sent more money thinking she was helping someone in genuine need. Adewale’s fraudulent acts brought him opulence, making him to open fat accounts with several banks, acquired landed properties and a car.

Adewale’s cup was full when an official of the internet intelligence agency in Australia discovered the irregularities in the correspondence between him and Rosalene. The EFCC was duly notified via a petition and Adewale was picked up at Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, while he was about to pick up another package from his benefactor in a bank in Ikorodu.

On arrest, Adewale made a confessional statement acknowledging his fraudulent acts, but later pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned in court. He later entered into a plea bargain changing his plea to guilty as charged. He wept in the dock all through the court proceedings. After listening to Adewale’s lawyer, Mr. Omolaja’s emotion-laden plea for mercy, the presiding judge, justice Obadina, while condemning Adewale for choosing to follow the infamous path of internet scam, sentenced him to a 12-month jail term. The judge also instructed him to prostrate and apologise to his father who was present in court, for embarrassing him and soiling their family name.
