See ehn, yes, tribalism is a cancer and we should continue to fight it. But this one is not tribalism abeg.
I would also expect Yoruba people to book a Juju music band rather than an Ogene music band to play at a Yoruba wedding.
Weddings tend to have cultural significance, and I would totally understand if people at the wedding expect the music being played to reflect the culture there.
If the DJ at a function in Enugu starts playing Kendrick Lamar, and the people say, 'Bia, DJ, you no get Flavour N'abania?' are they being anti-American? |

GetMeRight: Most of the things we do or say (racist comments, stealing, murder, rape, bullying and so on) that get criticised was because it became known to other people. My point is that: if her comment wasn't racist comment, you yourself wouldn't be saying that she shouldn't have made it public. You get my point? The reason I think she shouldn't have posted it is not because I think it is racist, but because I know how touchy and easily offended people are. And people like us Africans who have been (and still are) at the receiving end of racism are doubly touchy and have a hard time deciding when something is genuine racism and when something should just be laughed off. She should have know that too. |

GetMeRight: Like saying that the Lebanon swinging dicck is getting in their way? Recorded on video and shared globally? There's no big dick stereotype about the Lebanese, so what would be the context of making a big dick joke about the Lebanese? Let's say a Nigerian hostess with a Nigerian airline goes on Snapchat when she is off-duty and makes a joke about Lebanese passengers and garlic sauce, what do you think would be the reaction on the internet? Note that from my first comment I already said posting it was probably not the smartest thing to do, but no I don't consider it that serious or racist or even a fireable 'offence'. |

babyfaceafrica: it is not about what you care...it is about her job...some Nigerians are definettly not flying BA because of these, because theyvare offended and this means BA will lose customers..to regain this BA needs to step in and fire her or if she is very lucky ,transfer her to Libya.......profession before fun..she didn't think at all..we all have bias over other people, but some of us are smart..try this with a bank and embassy and you will be sacked immediately I didn't say it was about what I care. I was only expressing my opinion about whether this counts as racially offensive or not. And quite frankly (knowing Nigerians) I don't think a lot of Nigerians will care enough to boycott BA. A lot of professionals complain about hard-to-please customers during their offtime and it doesn't generate controversy. I've seen doctors do it on Facebook all the time. If this was a Nigerian hostess trying to be funny while saying something similar about, say, Lebanese passengers giving her a hard time, we won't be having this conversation. The PC crowd only goes to town if it's a white person saying anything about people of colour. |

Wallade: It is about decorum and professional ethics The comments were made outside her working hours, first of all. Although I agree it may not have been the smartest thing for her to post it online. And I understand that the stereotyped BBC thing is considered offensive by some people. I am just saying that personally, I do not care about this. There is a lot more serious racism in the world for me to be bothered about a young air hostess trying to joke about difficult Nigerian passengers. |

Coolgent: The mosque was set on fire by ipob terrorists And of course you have no evidence. Just spreading poison. Are you aware that the majority of the people who worship in that mosque, including the chief imam, are indigenous Igbos of Enugu State origin? Is IPOB now a movement that attacks and fights other Igbos? |

manofsun: Generally speaking yes, however, I am from a group of people known as Maroons; runaway slaves who are known to have not mixed much. My DNA also confirms this as I have a very high percentage of Nigerian ancestry (over ~50% - very rare for a non-native). My grandfather even told me before he passed away last year and before I had my DNA tested, that we are descendants of Nigeria as this has been passed down orally from his father, and his father (etc.). I know face guessing is extremely difficult and never 100% accurate, I'm just wondering if he has any distinct features. The Maroons seem to have been heavily Akan, from everything I have read on the subject. So while you have a high percentage of Nigerian (probably largely Igbo) ancestry I'd wager my bottom dollar you have a good dose of Akan in you too. Your grandfather doesn't have any distinctive features. He looks like a regular black man and will blend into any crowd anywhere in sub-Saharan Africa. |

Jakumo: Obesity is one ugly disease that is easily contracted by bone-lazy people. All the victim has to do is be a lazy fat toad, who does nothing besides sit on their gigantic lard-asz and eat crap food. Nothing could be easier, and the only drawback is that the victim winds up dying of congestive heart failure aged 45. The girl in those pictures is not obese. Localised accumulation of fat (in the butt and hip area) is a normal genetic trait, especially in this part of the world. Obesity is not localised like that. Obese people accumulate very high levels of fat all over the body. This girl's arms and trunk are very normal. Her tummy looks better than those of a lot of ordinary not-too-fat girls sef. |

ERockson: It's really offensive. Why not holding it in one of the SE states. How is it offensive? The secretary general Uche Okwukwu is from Rivers State. Why can't the event be held in his home state? All this boils down to the fear of being associated with IPOB and the fact that people cannot make the distinction between pro-Biafra groups and a simply ethno-cultural organisation like Ohaneze. |

Umuahia people answering Okwudili as surname? Issokay.
Meanwhile, Nnamdi Kanu is an old man. In his 40s, I believe. Only in Nigeria would his father be held responsible for his actions. Unless there is evidence linking his father directly to acts of sedition, attempting to remove him from his throne would be a big joke. |

Ersan: hausas uncircumcised? are you lot ret arded down there? every muslim is required to be circumcised, where did that ridiculous stereotype come from? Southerners observed that Hausa men squat to urinate in public (probably because they don't want bystanders to catch a glimpse of their junk, I don't know.) Someone perhaps then speculated that the squatting is because they want to hide an uncircumcised junk. Thus a myth is born. |
