This Man continues to announce that he will invest or invests in businesses where the competition is stiff or where enough raw materials do not exist . He loves throwing money at things and believes his billions will fetch him success in business. Why can't he just diversify in the sector he knows best? Like having all kinds of Cement, cement of all colours or even start making Bricks, Blocks and even Paint- products that are related to the building industry.

Any smart entrepreneur with a couple of Millions of Naira will take Dangote to the cleaners in a matter of years. Hmn.

Some pieces of advice are worth more than all the Bitcoin in the world, this is one of them. More insight, Sir.

OP, hold on to this the way a drowning man would hold onto a lifeline.

I second this line of thought. OP, take the advice and stick with your cousin. Cheers.

5digital:
while you plan to have your company registered also make plans to keep your doors open for business long time. we all know that cousin, brother or neighbor whose business started and ended with a CAC certificate .. let's help you get clients that can help your business stay open and pay your staffs on time as well as your landlord. how about that loan. the country is harder on small businesses now more than ever. you need to market more now is not the time to cut your marketing budget if it's hurting you then its also hurting your competition. this is the time t push through and not give up.

I read all the CAC Company Registration threads and one thing I have noticed is that many people don't know how to create and craft meaningful and good Company or Business Names. I see so many Certificates given out by the Corporate Affairs Commission with so many meaningless names and abbreviations. How can someone use an abbreviation as a Company name? Or a name that is not related to the activities of the company or business you are registering? A business name plays a great part in the success of a business. Thanks.

Don't accept the money from your friend. It is better to learn as you grow your business foot by foot, day by day, Month by Month. Though your friend might have good intentions for you, his support may not be what you need at the moment. If anything goes wrong with his monetary investment, your relations with him could become frosty. Cheers.

All I know is that the so called 6th and 7th Book of Moses are not ordinary books. Don't read them. Run away from these two books. Thank you.

Those who have experienced callous things being done with the aid of the ' 6th and 7th Books of Moses' will tell you to run away from them.

People should start looking for jobs nearer to where they live or in their community. If you have to take a boat from Ikorodu to other parts of Lagos State for work, then your salary must be very good and worth the risks of traveling by water. Otherwise, it is better to start a business in Ikorodu and its environs or get a job in your area. I know good jobs are hard to come by in Nigeria nowadays, but if it means you have to start a venture and grow it in your vicinity to avoid sudden death, please do. Too much sudden deaths in the last four years in Nigeria.

How is your weekend going? Tomorrow is Sunday, Nairalanders. I pray for good health, favour and blessings from the throne of God for you and your families. Amen. We will not become the victims of Kidnappers and terrorists in Jesus Name. Amen. For those that are looking for jobs or contracts, the lord will open channels of opportunities for you this coming week. Amen. We shall succeed in all our endeavors this 2019 and in many more years to come in Jesus name. Amen.

The acquisition of OLX by Jiji took place in April 2019. OLX pulled out of Nigeria in February 2018 and left the website running. It is a good development as it shows there are more opportunities in the e-commerce sector of Nigeria's economy. Jiji is a great brand. Jiji also took over OLX's operations in four other African countries- Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Thanks.

I just checked and it seems OLX Nigeria has disappeared from the web. It seems JIJI has acquired OLX. I expected it though. Hmn.

Hmn. What does this tell us? Do not work for the government . You are young now. Work for a private company or create a business of your own. It won't be easy at the beginning, but you can become the CEO of your Company some years down the line. When you are in your late 50's and 60's, you wont have to wait for Pension and Gratuities from the State or Federal Government. Cheers.

Don't lose hope yet, @ Poster. God is on this case in ways you won't understand. If you know the details of the accounts of these fraudulent guys, the accounts can be blocked on orders of EFCC or the Police. It depends on if many of the victims paid by Cash or into bank accounts. At least, recovering your monies can commence by blocking the bank accounts you paid into. And then there must be a viable trail left by Mr Adewale and his Gang. The Police can crack this crime, Nairalanders. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

We need to play better as Africans. There is no point crying over what we don't have any control of. Just play well and score more goals than your European or White opponents. No one can deny you of your victory then. VAR should not stop African teams from winning matches if they can outscore their opposition. Cheers.

@ Suggestions and Ideas

I have read all the business ideas being suggested to the OP. Most of you talked about the huge profits you are making. Are you already doing these businesses or you are just suggesting them? The profits you declared. How did you come about such profits? Are they gross or net profits? Did you deduct expenses from the profits you made? Please give the OP robust answers and suggestions. Thanks.

Hmn. I find many suggestions and posts on this thread puzzling . People are talking as if they won't pay rent and other expenses that come along with doing business or engaging in entrepreneurship. The OP did not let us know if he has sorted out his accommodation, transport, and has gotten other things he needs besides the 5 Million Naira. Is he being fed and accommodated by his Parents or a sibling etc. I believe somebody with 5 Million Naira would be living independently. And he or she would have expenses unless the person has a very good job at the moment and has managed to save 5 Million Naira. Some things do not add up concerning the OP's story. OP, please let us know your circumstances and well being besides the 5 Million Naira, so that we can really advise you better. Cheers.

Another day has come and it will end by 12.00 am. We are in June 2019. The year is half gone. However, we should thank the lord for his mercies and goodness to us. For those who are into Soul Winning and Ministry work, God will continue to strengthen us on a daily basis. Amen.

So, it is up to you to use these Chinese sites intelligently . Find tools that can boost your business on these sites and create jobs in Nigeria. I have attached a picture of a baking tool for people who make Cakes and Cupcakes. This kind of tool can be shipped into Nigeria easily from China, Korea etc. Let us these tools to improve our businesses. Thanks.

biztip:
what kind of tools are talking about .explain more .tanx

Yes, I was talking about getting tools from Chinese sites like DHgate, Alibaba.com, Aliexpress.com, globalsources.com etc to improve businesses in Nigeria and create wealth, rather than importing stuffs to sell. There are a lot of tools on these sites that can help you boost whatever business you are doing. For example, you can get unique wallpapers for your barbing salon that will encourage people to patronize you. The Asians are very creative and I must confess that they are extremely creative. They keep bringing out tools that can help people in the food processing business. If you are into making Cakes, doughnuts, Meatpies, sausage rolls etc, there are so many cheap tools on these Chinese sites that you can import by yourself to boost your food business. I have attached a barbershop wall sticker to this post. Wall stickers like these can beautify a Barbing Shop or Salon. There are other barbing accessories that are unique that can be found on Alibaba etc. If I have to explain what I have to say in detail, I will have to organize a seminar. Cheers.

Sylver247:
The only legal side hustle that is guaranteed to be successful in Nigeria are things that have to do with basic needs: food, shelter, clothing, transportation, health, education. These things must survive because we are too populated, and poverty is still a big problem. Learn something new or start a business in any of those sectors and you will make it. Especially if you are in Lagos.

You're right. The OP should learn some skills in Catering and start a fast food business from the Kitchen in his house. He can make Popcorn, Chinchin, Cakes, Coconut Chips, cookies etc on a small scale and sell to people through shops in his neighbourhood. He can also use Social Media to promote his food products. Another thing the OP can delve into is selling 2nd hand Children's clothes and women's clothes. However, he needs a larger capital to start out in the clothes selling business. So I think he should start with the small scale snacks business. As long as he knows how to distribute his snacks and sell them at a profitable price, he will be fine. People need to EAT and food business pays always. People don't mind taking snacks when they go about their daily business. School kids will buy Chinchin, Popcorn, Coconut chips etc.

As for importing stuff to sell, People only use Alibaba, DH Gate, Aliexpress etc to source for watches, earphones etc to sell, but they don't think of using these Chinese sites to get tools to boost their business. So many good tools, small machines, implements that be used to create wealth in Nigeria. I no fit shout. Cheers.

We thank the lord for his goodness and mercies. How was work and business today? Hmn, please stay happy and confident no matter how the day went. Please always remember that you have a lot of Choices in Christ. With God, nothing is impossible. God will never abandon you in Jesus name. Amen.
