coconutbag:It is less than commensurate with the cost of engaging all those road marshals all over the place. Money that could always find better use in health care and education. We spend too much as a nation attending to senseless law breakers. Imagine installing traffic lights and you still engage a posy of policemen right there to ensure the lights are obeyed.... haba, is that not a serious waste of public funds. No deterrent is too strong abeg. Left to me our criminality can fund our budgets. How many lawmen can N400,000 pay sef? What is the FCT waiting for, clean up our streets and rid them of madmen at the wheel. |
I hope she has enough kidneys to go round when theirs begin to fail. People will not listen or learn. |
Hmmm..... naso e dey start. Future candidate for 'Discovery ID - Signs Of a Psychopath'. |
The King is retired. Long live the King. |
Whether he wins or not he certainly has changed the narrative around politics in Nigeria. |
Life is a bit too much for the crime if there were no guns involved nor injury or deaths recorded. Life for these young men means upwards of 40 years at the pleasure of the NCS that will cost the tax payer millions of naira. And I mean perhaps close to 100 million over their life time.... |
Do not put your money into things you do not understand or fully grasp..... even a half percent lag could ruin your life. At the end of the day there is nothing your body digitally accepts. It cannot digest digital food, cannot be treated with digital medicine and as large as the web is, you simply do not live there. You have to pay real rent. |
Hmm.... shots fired, call 911! Coca-cola v Pepsi, Beemer v Merc.... another world war between superpowers looming.... |
They can't afford 'I pass my nebor' in Imo Government House??..... haba. Even road side meeting dey tune to gen when important matter dey cook. |
gloryhomemaker:Bleaching of palm oil is dangerous according to experts. Let it not be a habit. |
Nice one. Spotted the former Sec. Gen. of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku as well.... looking good at 89 years. |
..... from the photo most of them are ladies.... why? |
Sucre6:The Legislature is needed but it should be paid for by the people to serve the people. The government has paid the piper long enough and the Legislature has danced to government tunes alone, all along. So every Constituency that wishes representation in Abuja for its sake should gather money for boarding, transport and meals and handover to the Senator or Rep to proceed, simple. Then you can control their output, then you will see real work, then you won't see any of them sleeping during plenary or talking nonsense. Then recall will be as simple as turning off the tap of money flowing to them. |
Great news. Hope it comes with a lot of job cuts. For once let the public sector face the realities of Nigeria Inc. After all they have been cooking the stew. |
Tragic. But what exactly is in that sludge.... that is what really matters. |
oz4real83:Prince Andrew has never decided not to be a Royal. He has not lived a responsible life in any way but he has remained loyal to the crown and even when Fergie (his former wife) exhibited some 'Meganism', he cut her loose. Almost all his responsibilities have been taken from him and he has lost a lot of perks but there is a clear difference between a prodigal son and his inconsiderate elder brother. Once you walk away you lose everything. It is an institution, not just a family. |
texazzpete:But he cannot go to a far away land to 'make money in freedom' and the British taxpayer pay for his security, comforts and other perks of his and that of his kids. The summary of the whole saga is that privileges come with responsibility. The summary of the whole saga is that once you are an HRH, the public is obliged to care for your needs. If the Royal family changes the rules for Harry the British people will respond adversely to it. It is their money being spent. Abdication has consequences. If you learnt that your President's son or daughter was living in Los Angeles doing his or her business and Nigeria was paying for security, domestic staff and other stuff, how will you feel? |
wowcatty:Hmmm... brutal analysis... ![]() |
Michelle70:I agree. I think Rivers State needs a reboot, a breadth of fresh air and a while away from the monarchy of Wike. Successors to boisterous emperors are never successful. It will be Wike ruling all over again with dire consequences. |
I have always been impressed with the development of Kano State having lived there for many years. Despite its dynamic politics that has seen power ebb and flow from one party to the other and one political general ousted in battle, only to rise from the dead yet again, they just keep moving onwards and upwards rapidly. There is no State anywhere in Nigeria where democracy works so well as in Kano for its development and it shows. The concepts we see today had their origins in the defunct NRC government of Kabiru Gaya with Gov. Rabiu Musa taking it to great heights and everyone after following doggedly despite all the upheavals ever since. Quite commendable. |
You will have thought that having botched the primaries in 2015 that produced such a poor quality candidate in Mr. Buhari, the APC will be more circumspect this time around. No, they continue to appeal to sentiment and push for the favour of a section of Nigeria that has had it all for 7, 8 years in this regime. Whereas it is that demographic that should be making the sacrifices for the unity of Nigeria and letting other regions and/or religions a season in the sun. |
Racoon:Check my posts way back in 2014/15. I said that by the end of the administration everyone will be demystified and that the only thing Nigerians will have to show for the huff anf puff of this regime are a few roads, bridges and rail lines. I didn't even see coming the economic cataclysm that has attended the terrible misadventures over the past 8 years. There is no sincere Nigerian today who won't look back at 2915 with anything but regret. The PDP had expired by then, no doubt, but the APC should have done better at the primaries to elect a better candidate. |
Nigerians will vote for the wrong reasons and expect the right things to be done. |
toneroforever:But the Tinubu led SW also supported the GEJ 2011 bid.... to defeat Buhari's CPC. I don't think the north took that to heart and screamed blue murder. It is all politics. And politics is what people decide it will be. |
It is becoming clearer by the day that they feel Atiku is the safest option. The silence of the north is deafening. |
imagrg:Increasing signs that the north will take it. I have been careful to observe that not a single northerner, not one is openly hostile and antagonistic against the Atiku bid. They have all fallen silent.... true to their political DNA. This country eh... |
hakeemhakeem:Clear what drain. Can't you see that the place is a lake. In a few years Lekki will be known as a dry season island and we will witness seasonal migration in and out just as birds and other wildlife. |
Spend more time watching National Geographic and gain understanding. |
Hmmm.... there are some learning channels on DSTv they could exploit in the mean time to improve communication. |
AmazingELixir:I am yet to see a single reason to get a PVC, queue up in the sun/rain and pretend to vote.... When you realise that you only have one vote and see such hordes of PVC laden folks heading for destruction you just chuck the damn thing in the fire and go sleep. Nigerians are not yet ready to exist. |
Tribal politics everywhere you go. No one is interested in what anyone has to offer. The black man, the Negro is preset for endless sufferings. Carry on folks.... |
