A good way to have passed on. But it is not common for women to have a shorter lifespan than their spouses. The Duke passed on at a hundred while she fell four years short of this. |
This is not an entirely sensi.....ble...tive reply since he knows there are sectional demographics around both serious anti-social issues. A better response in summary should be, 'to strengthen institutions and foster the rule of law.' That is what Nigeria needs to head off both problems. That is the umbrella that covers both with equanimity and without prejudice. |
worldclass68:Sorry to bother you, but your inability you said to 'take it'..... I'm afraid is immaturity.... in any kind of relationship. There is no way to colour it. For there is no kind of relationship on earth without misunderstandings, ego trips, communication fails, etc. The only way to avoid it is to remain a hermit. That is a FACT OF LIFE. |
MrBrownJay1:The most valuable reply. Most other folks do not understand relationships. In which there is no such thing as a balance of emotions. Someone, somewhere, at every passing moment is subsidizing the stress demands. A good relationship is one in which this subsidy ebbs and flows between the parties. At every point in time, someone just has to 'act the fool'. Back to the origins. It is not possible for both parties to be equally stressed. One of them is not telling the truth, the other should have subsidized the lie instead. |
foxxydude:Sorry for that, I corrected my response. It is patriotic for you to report the things you know. |
foxxydude:Did they give those officials cash? If not records of such kick-back transfers should be made available to the EFCC when they come calling. Nigeria is rotten, top to bottom under a government that came to power with a promise that these things will be ended.... but alas. It appears the CBN has no internal surveillance mechanism to check that disbursed funds are not misappropriated. |
Okealaaye:Are you saying Mr. Tinubu can win without his party. He has presented an alternative 'structure' that is isolationist and unacceptable to the folks who should galvanized support for him. How does that work? Mr Tinubu had better pipe down. Once the establishment feels they cannot control him or at least have a stake in him they will surely work against him. They own Nigeria. That is why I said long ago that for Mr. Tinubu to ultimately succeed he should have distanced himself from this administration and its power block particularly after the 2019 elections and charted an independent course for himself and his power block so that he gains traction with Nigerians in general. But he hung on and depended on the establishment till the bitter end. Now that Nigerians have identified him with the failings of this administration where is he going to get the backing to battle the establishment for control over his future government. He is between and betwix and had better play ball or else. The other side don't care. Their own is to remain in power no matter who has the power. If they can't get it from him they will move on. Has anyone heard them openly oppose the Atiku bid....? |
PerfectStranger:Oga, let us be pragmatic here. Whether the case is won or lost is less important than the danger the continued existence of those drugs poses. The longer they exist the greater the temptation to send them back on the streets no matter where they are kept. Nigeria has a well storied history of missing narcotics from lock up on orders from the highest authorities. The NDLEA boss knows this. Personally instead of burning I will prefer dissolving in the Atlantic ocean. You can't guarantee burning and burying will ruin everything. |
Well, going to that war is certain death, so he might just get over with it. Russia is in for a slow, agonizing death. When you lose all your young men it will take generations to recover and then the demographics are bound to be altered forever. |
The problem with the APC is that the hero worship of the current leadership has blinded the current aspirant to the kind of governance that has marginalised northern religious minorities, ignoring their daily trauma and exposure to wanton violence over the past 7 years and beyond. They thought that the dominance of the northern religious majority is absolute, unending and will never be challenged. But if they look closer to understand, they will see that the elites and intellectuals in the north have a completely different disposition, one where they accommodate religious minorities and have given them leadership positions in such organisations as the ACF and others over the years. The present religious trauma is indeed recent brought on by extremist elements within the APC that have upset the delicate balance of 'the majority have their say, through the mouth of the minority'. That is why of all those who are vocal in saying the muslim-muslim ticket doesn't matter almost all are southerners, with a sprinkling of northerners at the dining table. Whereas the vast majority of northerners know this issue is highly divisive and even amongst the religious majority they rather choose to be silent rather than pour more fuel on the fire started by ill advised decision. |
Axis313:Why will he lose if he had chosen a Northern religious minority. The answer you give is the same as what the PDP is saying. Without restructuring injustice that has brought this country to its knees will persist, No one will even be left satisfied. Without restructuring Nigeria will continue to drift between the two prime evils of mankind, fear and greed. |
The Law of Natural Selection at work against Lawan. The soil, the air and the sky over Nigeria is fighting back. Never seen such terribly bad leadership.... gosh. |
Abeg Portugal is set for second half... going back to sanity. Poor match, poor refereeing and comedic commentary. |
Our defenders sha. Frank should have gone for a block rather than a tackle. Who does that in the pen box. |
hopexter:He is playing well here. |
Are these AIt commentators handling this match or just telling stories.... |
Kelechi remains poor for the Eagles. We should explore other options. |
Fryzi:Wasn't managed well like most African sportsmen and women. |
Chai see the goal wey Raphinia score for Brazil against Tunisia..... |
ol Arry Maguire will be the downfall of England and the stubborn Gareth Southgate that has no balls to drop him.... where are those who speculate the FA and United are closet lovers. |
Team 'They should have sold the contraband and empowered the poor' won't like this..... ![]() |
Kasssandra:Absolutely said the same thing and a lot more a few weeks back. Just don't know how it will all work out in a constitutional democracy. Anyway Nigeria is as peculiar as a Governor waking up a Democrat, having lunch as a Republican and going to bed as an ex-governor. If Obi wins, by sunset he will have a majority in parliament and half the governor's forum. Weird country. |
Whatever sir, but you don't have to use such uncouth words, exposing emotional flaws that can hurt you in future. All these tapes, videos courtesy of the internet are established forever. Be wise. |
From the bulk of the responses so far it is clear folks are determined to vote along tribal lines. If so who wins? |
No Nations Cup for the net two years, no World Cup..... exactly what is the interest in this match. We want to be the car in the race, not the spanner to tighten the wheel of other competitors. A whole Super Eagles being used as tune up and maintenance equipment by other countries....? What a sad Picnic. |
And your leaders in Abuja, the few folks you gleefully vote for are borrowing trillions to give their contractor friends to 'build infrastructure' and 'sustain wars' causing catastrophic inflation that undermines your bosses and employers ability to keep you engaged in a job.... what a pity. We have shown them time and again how to get the economy up and running and putting the teeming masses of people to work but I guess the black man doesn't know how to build a viable economy and a just and equitable society. |
Favourchris:Sorry to say so but he has a point, a bitter pill to swallow if you know how democracy works for good governance and the role of citizen advocacy in regulating the quality of life of all citizens. When a government is conditioned not to respond to criticism and advocacy its impunity grows to affect all the vulnerable in society including ex-military and their families. Whether we like it or not Nigeria is a country built for government and its pleasure. Once you are not in government you count for little. We should change this narrative so that patriotism is redefined as fealty to Nigeria not to government or any single individual, but to all, treated equally with respect and dignity. So when the police, military or other agents of the state go out to effect the pleasures of the government they should be wary about conditioning those officials to becoming intolerant and insensitive. For what goes round can come around. |
stanluiz:Who knows. In those days we used to get water purification pills as standard in campo rations. These days you cannot identify a single standard kit on a Nigerian infantry fighting soldier despite more and more money expended. We are talking about institutional crises here. And they are fighting on Nigerian soil. So you can imagine what it will be if the were operating beyond our shores with longer lines of logistics. |
Quite the contrary. I think the man did the exposure to insulate himself completely, an exposure that precludes any coming back. Good move. He must have seen the danger to both himself and the lady. Very few if anyone outside the persons concerned will know. Work place privates is never a good idea. It never ends well. |
Very bold of Afenifere and the absolute truth. You simply cannot be asking for an incomplete rotation. If equity means the presidency should come south then the south east should be supported. The south-west has had 8 years, the south-south had 6 years so it is just to have the south-east in power now that they have a decent candidate. |
Africans... I guess Queen Elizabeth is the cause of this also. |
Irreparable damage.... a crisis of a lifetime. But I have this many times.... ASUU is a trade union. Why in heaven's name are they not formally sitting down with the leading Presidential candidates to trade support for their demands. I tell you if they are seen bargaining with the opposing candidates the government will have a serious rethink as this will lead to a cascade of labour related upheavals and horse trading that will bring the present government rushing to sort out the mess for fear of losing power. |
