The pastor should not involve himself in this matter in order not to potentially taint himself. There are some things too gross to be associated with. Just cut her loose quitely like Joseph was about to do Mary. Sometimes silence is golden and men of God should be wise and wary on social media. |
candidtalk:He wants to be President, simple. The APC is further down the line in this ambition. Their next candidate will be from the north so it will not interest him. |
Gov Wike is very clever in using his body language to shake the PDP tree and get the fruits accruing to him. |
Just shocking to note that United's best player today was a lad who almost died of heart failure yet covered more ground, made more tackles and launched more decisive attacks than anyone else on that pitch. If you have doubted it for years I think it is certain that Sir Alex left some radioactive material in the squad room when he retired, making some bad, sad and totally mad.... or how else can you explain seemingly competent players and managers just going to pieces when they sign for that club.... even a top players like Lisandro fresh from Ajax looked lost most of the time as if under a spell. |
crystalpapers:Just average. Only lights up for a spot kick. |
Kai.... just horrible for the Reds. Like Nigeria the more they change leadership the worse the situation gets. No impetus, no urgency, easily the worst team featured in the opening weekend. No wonder CR7 struggles to flee this ship. United have not bought well for many, many years and it shows in every position on the pitch, a team filled with average players that even a player fitted with a pacemaker is about the best on show. How the mighty has fallen. |
Jessyjeff:Hmmm.... Bill Clinton about to crash the Bush party. And we all know what Mr. Tinubu's economic model is looking at Lagos.... big government and massive taxation to fund it. And I really want to see where the taxes will come from with the level of poverty, crushing business environment and everyone fleeing to the civil service or becoming emergency government contractors. |
nlfpmod:Can you see why the average PVC is a useless tool for any form of progress development in this so called democracy. And the reason why I don't have one neither will I ever imagine myself on a queue to vote.... Nigerians just cannot reconcile their experiences with their actions. It is like their brains do not control their bodies. How can a sane man speak like this.... Honestly, without restructuring Nigeria just cannot move forward. No matter how skilful a sportsman if he is not aware of the rules of the game he just cannot succeed at it. Nigerians MUST strive to gain knowledge of how to make elections and by extension democracy work for their good before registering to get a PVC. Just so sorry for this nation.... going down the trash shoot in a bin bag. |
That is a bridge girder not a pavement. Was wondering how he could not be picked off a pavement until the pictures emerged. |
BigDawsNet:Because he knows the Premiership like the back of his hand which is very useful when playing a team with a lot of British players who play it hard and fast. He is less effective against bigger teams dominated by foreign players and their different approach to the game. That was an effective change by Klopp if not Pool will have lost today, Fulham came to play them off the park. |
Goals win games but defences win trophies. I can't for the life of me wonder why Trent Alexander is still being played in defence. The guy is just not interested in defending anything. Why not play him right side of midfield and get someone else that has a decent reverse gear, haba. This guy will cost Liverpool matches going forward as he ages. |
I hope Pool supporters were not busy mouthing Arsenal yesterday. Boy they look leggy and jaded, tired and slow. The ghost of the quadruple sill haunting. |
Hezmatosky:Very ignorant statement. Elections have serious consequences that affect everyone in that territory without exception. Every Nigerian has been rendered poorer in real terms between 2015 and now. This rampaging inflation has seen to that. The bottom line has fallen out and they constitute those roaming about kidnapping and killing. As the economy worsens this army of villains increases till the state collapses like in Haiti, Venezuela, Somalia or Guatemala.... then mass exodus is the endgame. It is better to ask each aspirant for detailed answers to the pressing questions of the day, how they will get out of the mess the Buhari led government has placed Nigeria in and have them swear to that pathway before any consideration is made to elect them. If any citizen is voting for any other reason than the bad state of Nigeria, that person is THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA. Those that made the poor choice in 2015 of bringing in the Buhari led APC government and have not regretted and rescinded that decision but are adamant in repeating the error, that is voting without questioning the competence and capacity of any candidate and committing such a person to doing what we want frankly does not have the moral right to stand in a queue this time around. That will just be voting for voting sake, a complete waste of time. |
ozowarac:So that they they will have more money to continue their profligate spending on everything not useful to us. More contracts for their lackeys, for jobs for the boys, more projects for their palette..... Like sending more jeeps, gas and rail tracks to Niger Republic so they will not in turn export terrorists to us. Where we find ourselves today is simple. The government is telling us indirectly that we should prosper Niger Republic to curb the migration south of all sorts of elements. We are in big, big trouble. |
We warned against reckless spending and criminal borrowings but as usual his 'attack dogs' will not see reason. We used similes and all sorts of examples, but his supporters said the United States prospers even with heavy debts, conveniently ignoring their powerful industrially driven productivity while Nigeria barely produces any sort of tangible goods. They said we should go and farm, the last bastion of productivity in Nigeria, but failed to hold curb criminality and terrorism in the countryside because of sentiment and compromised security institutions. We said negotiate with and make concessions to those who agitate for equity and justice, the downtrodden and excluded so there can be solidarity by all constituencies towards a prosperous nation, but they said we don't care, it is our turn and we will have it all.... how far?.... no peace, no productivity thus no wealth created and so no revenue to government. Now they say they want to levy.... levy who?... the unemployed?, the crumbled businesses?, the bandits in the forests or the gunmen chasing them from pillar to post, because I will not dip my hands in my pocket and help out a government that is not accountable to me. A government that is hellbent on wasting scarce resources on things and people and other countries that are meaningless, on projects that do not benefit the nation while at the same time ignoring those important things that matter to me like education, health, prosperity and peace. They are either simply asking for a revolution or mass migration, because there are no other options facing this failed government of this failed nation. Mr. Buhari has run Nigeria down, once again. |
Good result for the gunners.... but sadly still seeing some age old challenges..... mental fragility at the core of the team. The low budget Bernado Silva.... captain Odegaard as usual wilted in the heat. Was very impressed with Saliba however, very composed and looking like a great if he keeps it up. The midfield still has issues particularly defensively. |
Even within this regime they hunted and houded an independent Legislature during the first tenure saying it was confrontational and what Nigeria required was 'co-operative' institutions of governance so that Mr. President will have an easy way to lead Nigeria. Now we can see that a seatbelt in a vehicle is not confrontational but protective by restraint, the Legislature's core duty to check and balance the powers of the Executive just in case they err (which is human). Ignorant Nigerians beclouded by sentiment removed every restraint to a President that is not exactly a guru in anything and this is the result. We can see where absolute power has taken us.... wrecked Nigeria absolutely. Shey the same foolish folks were singing and dancing when a whole governor of the CBN removed his hallowed toga and danced nake.d in the market of partisan politics. Everyone of us will pay for this indiscretion and will learn a bitter lesson of how to run a proper democracy. May the sufferings of Nigerians in every way brought by this unfortunate regime intensify..... till wisdom befalls us. |
I really don't care but I seriously doubt it. Wike's endgame is a shot at the Presidency. The PDP is the only path to that. What he has been trying to do having missed this opportunity is to ensure he is in poll position for the next opportunity preferably when the ticket remains domiciled in the south in 2027. He knows if the PDP fails to win next year's election his battle with a ruling incumbency will be much harder so his battles to extract as much leverage now is the cause for his hard play. If he can extract concessions of a one term presidency from Atiku, he will have no internal opposition come 2027 and an even stronger hand in 8 years. It's all power play, the only way he can crack the northern dominance, by building an internal alliance of his own. |
He should be given one of those 100 million naira SUV's meant for security in Niger Republic.... perhaps he will have a change of mind. |
Xscape1993:And former Deputy Senate President, the No. 6 citizen of Nigeria.... eating watery beans.... sorry baked beans as the guest of Her Majesty. See where the personalisation of government has led. When they get so used to autocratic tendencies they make so many mistakes out there in the sane world. |
gasparpisciotta:Religion has become the subsidy for bad governance. The 'peacemakers' will rather live on hope until death than demand for what is right. After years of thought as to why much of the West had gradually abandoned religion, it is becoming clear that the reason simply maybe the disconnect between church and state, the real world and the world to come. That salvation is for individuals not countries. Thus it may just be vain to 'pray' for Nigeria if no 'works' will be undertaken to effect the prayer of faith. And by works I mean agitation for better governance. Nigerians are not willing to do the works for a better country. |
Dsalvo:Not true sir. He went far, far beyond helping to instal this government. He approved most of its policies and programs during the better part of the first tenure, came out vocally to campaign for the second tenure and I could remember vividly saying on this forum a long time ago that if he had ambitions of his own to succeed this regime he had better cut them loose and begin to chart a course for himself by ending blanket support but rather pushing alternative narratives out to the polity with every sense of respect. But I guess when you know you have put a ferocious feline in charge, you may end up a victim so out of fear he kept silent and I guess has now followed like the fable of the fly and the corpse. I cannot wait. This is the drama I have long waited for and the reason why I won't vote for I cannot for the life of me imagine how with all that has happened in Nigeria a party like the APC will expect nothing less than a landslide washing them out of power. For it will be a world record of sorts for a political party in a democracy to have performed this badly and retained power. Just impossible. No right thinking political analyst anywhere in the world just looking at performance statistics about the then and now of Nigeria having no previous knowledge of this country will remotely call it for the APC. So in summary if the APC wins next year, it will a proof that democracy has indeed completely failed and I will have saved myself the stress of trying to be part of it in anyway, shape or form. It is logically impossible for the APC to win next year with Nigeria as it is today. |
..... True confessions, Season 1, Episode 1.... even the top hierarchy including no other than the past Chairman confessing that the regime has totally failed. Mr. Buhari and his hapless government has been cut loose and thrown under the bus. We said it loud and clear in 2015, that by the end of this regime everyone concerned, everyone without exception will be absolutely demystified. Sad, because in those days Captains were the last to abandon ship and most chose to go down in honour with them. Must be a nightmare right now to be in the Tinubu camp reminiscent of proceedings after the last supper.... What the hell do you tell Nigerians.... as a man of honour or integrity....that you never knew the man.... hmmm just waiting for the cockerels at dawn.... interesting season of drama unfolding....can't wait..... ![]() |
GoodzGustavo:The OP must be from the west. Southerners have a few more recipes that are a lot better. |
Splitmind:It is like you are the only one who enjoys this country the way it is. Just wondering what kind of person you are..... kai.... what a shame. |
donkach:So they should leave his body on the ground or in the position where he was shot. Use your head pls. |
iwaeda:Ha. Is this true..? |
My gosh, what sort of nonsense is all this.... what is happening in this country for heavens sake. Who are these devils doing this and for what. What the hell do they want?.... ![]() |
So what is happening to the much touted infrastructure this government has not allowed us to rest over.... shut down by the society that cannot bear the consequences of its delivery which is crime fueled by poverty caused by reckless borrowings to fund it. So we can see the limitations of infrastructure as a tool of development when NOT DONE PROPERLY. We can see that infrastructure does not automatically deliver prosperity when the execution is shrouded in secrecy and the benefits are essentially offshore, and when the infrastructure does not generate jobs here, create allied businesses or reduce cost of doing business. Nigeria's infrastructure is not sustainable, but high cost, low benefit. |
So surprised that a learned man like that can make so much noise about an infraction he knowingly committed. I think his personality got to his head like every entitled little Nigerian who cannot manage success or popularity. |
BigDawsNet:Where is Gabriel Jesus in this list? |
Dubaku543:Perhaps should have been elected in 2015. Was the best on the APC ballot back then.... primaries I mean. |
