We are sick and tired of this daily diet of nonsensical stories. Hey, there is still a country to be run and presently it resembles a ghost ship just floating around as the wind and waves of uncertainty pleases. It doesn't bode well for Nigeria that the present government appears a lame duck hellbent on leaving a legacy of absolute disorder and near complete collapse. |
Emekaonline:I think they consider their present situation to be far worse than back then. If you want to grow healthy beef on that specific muscle group just cause more pain in the opposite muscle group. You won't feel the heat. |
iLoveYouToo:Exactly my thoughts. Now it will not be a problem of luring from abroad but of industrial size exportation from a country without law and order. |
Huh, a limited edition. Meaning that in 5 years it should triple in price. |
majamajic:But he is asking questions that require answers. Questions that you and me should be asking those entrusted with power everyday. Because if those questions are not answered adequately and power is entrusted to them again, mistakes are bound to be repeated. Holding power accountable is the foundation stone of a working democracy. Atiku should be made to explain in clear details, his stewardship during his 8 year stint at the Villa. |
Politics of religion is definitely taking over from politics of development post 2023. Heads or tails, Nigeria loses. Some force out there just doesn't want this country, this continent and indeed the black race to move forward. |
Indeed suffering is good for the soul. Hardship is the only thing that can create common sense in this country and corrode sentiment. See what has happened to the pricing of gasoline which is now different across Nigeria. This is what we call restructuring by default. |
Angelfrost:There is a lot of sentiment beclouding the security services in those climes. |
naijainstinct:Perhaps because investigations are expensive particularly a deeper dive into a person's background using modern technology. You should also consider that the consumers of such information (foreign institutions) may consider a $80 search more credible than a $10 service. |
That is the reality but he should not be discussing the prospects of other candidates but focus on selling his own wares. Peter Obi may not win but he is definitely taking votes away from his party in large numbers. And even Atiku wins it will not be by on the altar of a clear and decisive mandate which is itself a big problem. I have said it previously that an Obi presidency though a breathe of fresh air will nonetheless be beset by huge problems. He will be in power and in opposition simultaneously because the entire Legislature (the upper and lower houses) will be against him, the powerful Governor's Forum will also be against him making the hard decisions needed for reforming the country almost impossible. It may just become a lame duck presidency. However I salute his bravery in shaking the tree of liberty. |
Abegi make we hear word. Where is the chocolate in 'Peak Chocolate' and other such kinky brands. World Chocolate Day should be about the substance in its purity and in Nigeria (where Cocoa the base product of chocolate is a natural resource), there is no reason why 'compromised' products and brands should be the flagship at this occasion. Chocolate as a product in its purest form has enormous health benefits which these refined derivatives heavily loaded with sugar, trans fats and sodium just cannot match. It is almost like using 'Fanta' to promote 'World Citrus Day'. |
We are all part of the problems in Nigeria. What is the incentive for good governance, performance and leadership.... none. We seriously need to restructure Nigeria to establish a common set of values. Without that we are no better than the beasts of the forest. |
All these because you refuse to clean your damn ear..... believing the crap that the wax will drain out by itself.... now you know... |
I think at this point in time it has become inevitable. Government should massively invest in our local automobile companies using a mashal style plan to churn out vehicles of all types at reasonable costs and in massive quantities to replace motorbikes nationwide. |
sukkot:Because with that degree of burn most victims will be in shock, then into a coma and death shortly. I cannot see what is amusing about the last pictures of a condemned man. |
femiasaolu2014:Hmmm.....so how can an ex-con lay hands on an American visa. |
FiremanX:Those are collector items and will not be used in an everyday manner that will depreciate them considerably. Car collections, fancy homes, expensive yachts, jewellry, art collections are all assets and instruments of trade and tax engineering when traded 'expertly'. |
The place speaks a lot about the company and the folks that run it. Details do matter. I just hope the CEO is aware of the surroundings his food will be coming from. Human capital in Africa is the least valued. |
Had to search for the original incident post to understand what transpired and I must say both parties erred in this regards. As an officer of the law the PRO is expected to assume the moral high ground and act appropriately. In traffic logjam people, ordinary citizens are expected to act rationally in giving way in a just and equitable manner to ease the congestion and if it was the turn of those men to pass the PRO should have given way (that part of the report was not clear). Any privileges the PRO would have enjoyed in that logjam will have been at the bequest of him identifying himself as a police officer possibly on a mission (that part also was not clear). So with a couple of unknowns it remains unclear why the situation degenerated to that degree but certainly it does not give those boys any impetus to turn a bad situation worse and for the PRO, if he had the tools to call for the arrest, why couldn't he summon his people to control traffic till the logjam was resolved. For this scenario is exactly what the tax payer funds the police for. Poor judgement all around |
Morenikeji090:That is why restructuring is imperative to stabilising Nigeria. Our present structure will always lend to destructive suspicion and needless divisions. We should be able to sit around a table as Nigerians to collectively decide what we want as a nation. What we want to keep and what we want to end. We need to agree on acceptable values for all aspects of life and living. If muslim-muslim ticket should be today, then it must be agreed, signed and sealed that a christian-christian ticket will be acceptable tomorrow. |
thebosstrevor1:I often hear this but how do you reconcile the bolded. Hear what I have repeated time and again. It is the APC and its presidential candidate that is responsible for all these divisions and the unnecessary heating of the polity. The government has been in the north and the majority north (religion wise) for the past seven years. Why, why, why, why can't they make the sacrifices to unify Nigeria along ethno-religious lines by letting and supporting the northern minority (religion wise). Why should they be the deciding factor in this election and all concessions made to them AT THE EXPENSE OF THE PARTY AND THE GREATER NATION. If the northern majority (religion wise) cannot bring themselves to let through and lend support to their minority brothers then why should they expect the rest of Nigeria to be considerate in accepting a mono-religious ticket. |
Hahahaha..... na dis we go dey talk for the next 4 years..... 'Naigeria' na comedy series.... hahahahaha.... ![]() |
Throwback:So who are the friends now being enriched. |
Mike008:Na today we begin dey talk say Nigeria don capi to criminality. Since 2017 where were you when we were screaming that government should negotiate with people carrying placards before the chalk boards metamorphose into cudgels and eventually guns. Where were you when we were screaming that government was making bonfires of enmity with its citizens left, right and centre and thereby overstretching its security forces and taking money out of education, health and welfare to fight wars it created and sustained by loose talk, tribalism and all the bad, bad ism's out there. Oh yeah, we knew all this will happen, we saw all these, we shouted ourselves hoarse in warning, so we are not alarmed but only see the amusing side when sentiment filled Nigerians are alarmed at such a late, late hour. Sorry for Nigeria. |
Viscuz:Hmmm..... and who will provide security for the security.... ![]() On another note, perhaps these hoodies are working assiduously for their own turbaning. |
badoh:Yes, if the other side will equally forget religious sentiment. They are clearly not 'forgetting religious sentiment' in addition to tribal sentiment in selecting their v.p candidate as you folks clearly acknowledge that northerners WILL NOT VOTE A CHRISTIAN from those climes. So it is a case of asking others to disregard what you cannot. That is why you just cannot step into a minefield without adequate preparation and protection. And thus the 'disregard for ethnicity and religion' is only possible after Nigerians have sat round a table and agreed to do so. That process is called restructuring. Without restructuring the decision of the Tinubu and the APC to field a mono-religious candidacy is to further divide Nigeria. And the division has not even started. For if the ticket happens and Christians are persecuted during the regime then the country could head to the bin. |
Penguin2:But you folks are all around saying Nigerians should vote 'the candidate' and not the 'party platform' on which he contests inadvertently giving a lee way to the Tinubu campaign machine to confidently forge ahead meaning no one will pay for this mess we have found ourselves in. For in saner climes the ruling party is given a red card at the polls after a reckless foul on the citizens as it happened in 2015 with the PDP suspended for eight years. The people have themselves have changed the laws of the game and red is now yellow. |
Characta:They just do not want to escalate divisions and raise tensions. The lives of their flock are at stake particularly in climes where they live on a sectarian knife edge. |
Well, politicians want him to put up his Ministry for sale.....damn them... ![]() Anyway the best person that should have been in that meeting was not. Prof/Veepee Yemi who is unfortunately sidelined by injury should have been there to mediate between Church and State having straddled both sides, he above all people will know where the shoe pinches, the possibilities or not and the likely fallout. GO should not be put in this position at all. It is not fair.... damn politicians.... ![]() |
tasalanoni:Oga calm down. When enterprises are grown organically by those who envision, then built by patience, knowledge and diligence the rate of success is a lot higher. But you see, when you have a politician that throws money around thinking he is making hay without an iota of competence, fidelity and grace this is often the result. Those workers know the so called investment is likely the proceeds of corruption, they see it all around and are convinced their nibbling round the edges will not be missed. That is the lot of corruption and those who play in it. It has no certain future but is quick to fester, grow and consume all that are around and are beneficiaries directly or indirectly. If he is not a hotelier 'by birth' his best chance at success and peace of mind will have been to invest his resources (genuine or not) into those who's passion and calling and 'life' is all about the business. That is what happens in other climes. There are investment vehicles all over the place where patrons can place their funds to receive dividends. That is when 'looting' can have a human face in creating proper sustainable jobs and industry. But the second and third evils of corruption can often kick in to thwart this, the evils of fear and greed, that play havoc on rational thinking. |
It is not about the south, the hesitation about the mono-religious ticket is all about the north, the interests of the Christians there and their survival in the face of all sorts of discrimination and prejudice. It is to them the APC should be sending delegations of assurances and appeasement. I don't think the Christian body in Nigeria will give up on them except with their permission. |
