MemoriesAndMe:Work together. You often hear this phrase when someone wants to hang onto his failures while seeking subsidies from another. Work together. You often hear this when a party is determined to hold its destructive course or further its faiked agenfa but seeks a partner to share the fallout, a partner to hide behind when bkame is shared. Which one do you refer to oga. The 'work together' that removed an experienced, performing senate president for a mannequin, or the work together that did not happen in 2014, 2015. The APC sought power, with all manner of promises, the basis by which the PDP was rightly removed. Now you want the PDP to come subsidise the inadequacies of the APC 6 years after.... There is no dragging anything here. The APC led government is the one in the mud here and it is folks like you who need examination by thinking the PDP shares any responsibility here. They are serving their punishment. You cannot blame a jailed man for more crime on the streets. You have taken him out. You either do your job or leave. |
On a more serious note, for anyone who is interested in the facts of how to engage a opponent like this. The two things clearly against the fellow will be speed and stamina. It takes a lot of energy to move that mass quickly and will take even more to sustain any length of activity. Just keep moving and keep him moving. In a short while it will all be over. |
Decadence.... |
Very undiplomatic, very uncharitable for a sitting President to speak like that. Then he is off to Mali or some far flung location seeking peace between parties in conflict. A government so squeezed hard they run on emotional fumes only. The gasoline of wisdom and tact is long exhausted. Now someone will come out and speak about legacy. The legacy that will abide will be that tweet. Such shallow thinking. |
If true, good signing for Tottenham. Pity ol Arry is leaving and Conte's compatriot from Everton to Real Madrid. Would have made the Prem even more competitve and vicious than ever. Guess Multichoice will be rubbing their hands in glee. |
eagleu:Because he is a former Head of State and CinC. That's why. The military offers the highest level of protection in Nigeria... That's where we find ourselves. |
To them, the collosal loss of lives and devastation everywhere is 'fleeting'... Can you imagine this stupid talk from thise who are supposed to superintend over the affairs of those who voted them into power....that their lives are...fleeting.... Only God Almighty who created man can speak with this kind of incredulous audacity and go free. As for legacy, this government has successfully extinguished any flicker of positivity it could ever muster and the only way it can be remembered for any sort of good is if ...like we are all too familiar in this part of the world (called the dark continent), it instals and imposes a government much worse than itself after. This they will surely want to do for obvious reasons but it must be resisted at all cost by all stake holders to this franchise called Nigeria. |
Who remembered the decapitation accident along the Lagos-Benin express way in the late 90's if memory serves me right. Where some stupid fellows in a bid to drag a timber laden truck out of the bush strung a steel cable across the highway to the towing vehicle. Can't say if there was insufficient traffic notice or not but it was gory. All occupants of the saloon had their heads guillotined with a clean slice through the top half of the car. Was shown on NTA News. |
hungkee:Always chasing individuals and will never understand why things are. You will not see the Germans fighting to set aside a day in memory of her war dead or the Japanese for that matter afyer the second world war cataclysm because after the war and learning from the mistakes of the first world war (mistakes that led to the second) the victorious allies, rather than punish and ostracize citizens of those nations, embraced and integrated them back into the world order and gave them a honourable place at the table of the comity of nations. Massive investment, humanitarian, human capital, financial and technology was deployed to ensure thise countriea got back on yheir feet as quickly as possible and led them into becoming global powers of their own rights till this day. Though memorials are still held to mourn the dead, no member of the EU is jealous that Germany is the biggest economy in that bloc. No one sought to pull them down or isolate or marginalise them. Until a decade ago no one in the Asia Pacific was envious that a country once 'nuked' to submission will rise to become the second largest economy in the world with the aid if the United States. All former enemies have become STRONG ALLIES supporting each other to develop and prosper.. What is the matter with you and the whole horde of black men throughout the length and breadth of Africa and beyond that cannot let the lessons of history filter through to make you profit from your own mistakes to make a better future for yourselves. Why are we the only ones that have not been able to mive forward and profit from our own civil war. Most other nations have. Since 1971 the animosity against the defeated remains. They have been defeated but they must be subdued forever. How foolish can a nation be. How foolish can a people be. For how can you move forward and climb out of mediocrity, obscurity and pity if all your lives your are tied down holding others down. In all my years I have thought about these things. What has it profited Nigeria....in anyway, shape or form to continue to subdue, subjugate and marginalise the people from the East. WHAT HAS NIGERIA GAINED. Is this country better than it was pre civil war.... |
AuroraBrls:With all you have said, consider the simple fact that both parties have undermined the business of Parliament and distracted from what really matters, getting things done. There are no winners here. Africa is like this because of sentiment ON ALL SIDES. |
potbelly:Because they are human beings.... just like you and me. Where is your humanity please. When did we cease to be people... to have any empathy for those who are sick unto death around us. We feel nothing, no pain, no loss unless it affects us personally. A society that has no love or heart, has no care or concern is dead while it pretends to live. That is why all sorts of evil prevail unattended. Please these are not just numbers. They are people, real people whom the nations has failed, whom the healthcare system has betrayed. Show empathy please like citizens of other nations for a better tomorrow. Nowhere else I have seen where the victims, the citizens take it upon themselves to scorn, mock, deny and deride their losses. Little wonder our country is like this, where lives donot matter. Where death to us is just figures and numbers. Pity. |
The moment a professional seeks to combine extra curricular activities, one of the two will invariably suffer. Her activism will eventually truncate her career. It is already telling on her performances and the press shun is more to do with avoiding questions, questions and more queations about her 'colourful' life....no pun intended. |
Good addition. Spain after england is logical, as the pace of the great player slowly ebbs. |
A lot better than all the violence. This is self determination and all should respect it. There is nothing inherently wrong in remembrance. It was a calamitous war this country has not recovered from till date and all should pause and think hard about these things. |
If they let this slide then the whole system collapses. No one will be willing to do interviews and the media is not one anyone toys with. It is the heartbeat of commercialisation of sport. On the other hand, the WTA of which she is a ranking member by her status should come to her aid and negotiate out a reprieve. |
Rolexjerry:Then what happens when you win the ball back. City had superior possession once again like against most teams but the strike rate was poor. Passing the ball around the eighteen will beat most teams but NOT ALL teams. City under Guardiola remains a one trick pony and it showed yesterday against a quality coach. City is a fantastic pony but tiki-taka has its limitations. Guardiola did admit it post match that they were undone time and again by the ball over the top. Chelsea attacked them in many sort of ways while they on the other hand were predictable. They lacked SHOTS ON GOAL and that is not a DM's business, but a simple instruction from the coach because there were players there who could do it in Mahrez and Kevin and those who SHOULD DO IT in Sergio and Jesus. The summary is simple. They conceded and were continuously threatened because their midfield was light but they did not score because they simply did not strike. Pep should ditch this his false 9 system. It will not work at the highest levels. |
Ifybwoy7:No sir, no sir, no sir. A striker is just that. He does NOT need to penetrate defences before he scores. Every top 9 is capable of scoring anywhere from 40 yards. Marhez and Sergio are capable of that, Jesus and Sterling are not. Pep's big mistake yesterday was no instruction about 'Shots on Goal'. They persistently tried to work the ball into the goal and this is a big, big weakness of Pep's tactical scheme. It was not the absence of Fernandinho whose presence will probably have prevented the Chelaea goal but his presence will not have contributed to a City goal even if they played for ten years without a strike on goal. Tiki-taka is dead. Pep should realise this by now. It can win leagues when you have dozens of matches to shine but a one-off against a tactically astute team, nothing is guaranteed. |
Poster make it clear to everyone's understanding so it doesn't sound remote and distant from those it concerns. That is the President has turned a deaf ear and a blind eye to 200 requests of the people to make this country better. Most times in favour and in the interests of a few. One will have thought that with all the problems this country faces and the poor condition of its nascent democracy, legislation will have been passed hands over fist to get it going...but no. The lovers of the status quo must have their way. They just love the way the country totters and dream of a greater fall. What else can explain this ridiculously sad turn of events. |
Questions, questions and more questions will continue to surround Pep Guardiola. Great technician, evident with some of the most impressive bouts of soccer we have seen any team play in modern soccer but,.. Tactically, he is just hapless. His team selections, match day plans and rigid style of play just does not cut it in tournaments. With all the resources available to him since the heydays at Barcelona, billions on the very best talents in global soccer the returns at the very top is quite frankly, paltry. Something is definitely wrong somewhere. |
Chelsea is playing very, very well. All due respect to Tuchel. His tactics is spot on. Kante has been a monster in the middle. Once more Pep has gambled with the laws of soccer in not playing a striker and the error is glaring. If Chelsea had been braver in the last third this game will have been over at 45. City poor so far. |
Very immoral young man. If it happened in Nigeria folks will say it doesn't matter. |
You came.... You saw.... And... You made it worse....much worse. |
Nice. So every time the average Joe boards a bus in down town Lagos and those tax collectors intercept for a shake down, part pay goes to sunny ol Georgia... ![]() |
That is inflation for you. Its a snowball off a ledge. Once it gets moving it just picks up momentum, grows massively and consumes everything in its path. Every primary producer and service provider in the coming days, weeks and months both formal and informal will be raising prices and rates to 'catch the wind' of the double whammy of inflation and devaluation. The question now falls on the laps of the fiscal and monetary referees, the fg and cbn respectively. Is this an offensive weapon to reposition the economy, to condition it for diversity and real productivity or is it the fallout of an out of control, mismanaged calamity, the kind of disasters that happen in poorly governed nuclear power stations??..?? |
Saying this because you know in you that his legacy is all but ruined. A legacy that could have been saved if the truth was allowed to get to him once a while. This is Nigeria where due to its structural deficiencies leadership is moribund and always subject to and hijacked by dark forces of misgovernance, folks who are unaccountable to any and will suffer no consequences for their continued destruction of the Nigerian state. The only nation on earth in steady, perpetual decline since its independence. |
Lazynigerian1:An eight year old limousine is not the same thing as an eight year old taxicab. In sports wear and tear matters. His consistency made him a staple for Bayern for many many years of horrendous Bundesliga battles that will take their toll. Athletes accumulate not only mental stresses but physiological distresses too that eventually age them out. Their rwcovery from game time and injuries are not elastic. It shows. He will be a nice squad player but I cannot see 250 matches in those legs, certainly not at the level Real is expected to play. I think ageless Luka Modric has deceived the club's hierarchy. |
Demonic kleptomaniac. This woman should do the time of her life. She should not be allowed to get away with this no matter how long she remains a fugitive from justice. |
Must be a squad signing. His best days are gone. Galactico things. |
I think this will be a good one if the former President is tapped for national cohesion particularly concerning upheavals in the south. Lines of communication ought to be opened up with all aggrieved parties. Nigeria desperately needs a time-out. He can be of great help. |
No. It was designed by Communists.... never to work. |
Yeah, Mickey Mouse is gone....to play with Daisy, Goofy and pals... |
What is wrong with you folks. The young man is passing along a simple message. DO NOT GET INFECTED. What is so hard to understand in that. Where does the discrimination come from? Just donot know what is wrong with people these days. |
