Hope you are all enjoying the personalisation of government. One man's anger is costing everyone...including himself...but unfortunately the realisation has not come....yet |
Good one. Good for the environment and the economy. |
Not good. I thought they had an agreement that no one will be victimized. |
And these resources are being taken from the most vulnerable segment of society, the youth, presently running the bulk of Nigeria's unemployment baggage. While in other parts of the world the youth are doubling down and expanding the new economy by leaps and bounds, here we are digging our own graves. Not only are resources going to be lost but when the dust is finally settled Nigeria will be once more further behind its contemporaries even on the continent. Too bad. |
Gosh. What a tragedy. May the families of the deceased be comforted at this tragic time. |
How many prison yards will they build... Imagine what a government is occupied with at this time of rampaging insecurity and hyper inflation... Such poor levels of governance not seen for a generation... kai. |
She may never get that Margaret Court record. When she decided for a family a few years ago I knew something had to give. You simply cannot have it all. Having a child at that age in your career has consequences and she has never played to championship levels since then. Steffi Graf and Kim Clijsters were classic examples of the friction between life and sports. |
He wouldn't make Wimbledon either. Much tougher on the body than Roland Garros and the young guns who trouble the trad three, Tsitsipas, Theim, Medvedev, Zverev and a couple others are not even clay experts. They thrive more on faster courts of which grass will be good for them. If Federer does not respect his body I hope he does not leave the courts in a wheel chair. He should protect his legacy and humbly retire. His place in history is secured. |
Nice. Headed to the airport the same morning the flag off was to take place. Haven't been to Portharcourt since. And I will avoid it as much as I can till all these public works are done with. The traffic fallout can be vexing. |
It is better he remains in the APC to fight for his ideals. I consider it a sign of immaturity that every time there are intraparty disputes there must be be a fracture. You simply donot win by running. Just like the threat of secession today. The future is not a given or sure bet. Look at Liberia and compare them with the blacks that decided to remain in the States. Who is better of today... People who achieve lasting, novel, qualitative things stay and fight for them. There are no institutions, organisations or even nations for that matter of repute that had things smoothly. Liberty is not given, it is fought for and the easiest battles to win are those fought on the inside. All of the most formidale empires of antiquity had one thing in common, implosion. Mr Akeredolu should remain in the APC to reshape it and his legacy will be cemented. Once he leaves the narrative will change and the message will be lost in the cacaphony of political brickbats. Idealists fight close quarters. |
Cnach:It is so, so annoying. They will carry these fellows who have not proven anything and spin a rhetoric around them to lure the illiterate majority into false narratives and a mad herd rush to the polls only to discover later there is no capacity, no commitment and so no deliveries. Then the denials and recants wil start months into their terms and we will be left with the agony of more wasted years. We serious need to improve the quality of citizenship in this country if we are going to experience anything better than what we see today. We have to collectively get more cerebral as to those we put in office, scrutinizing them better and more diligently that those we conduct business with, those we employ to serve as our personal helps or even those that we seek to marry. For they command just as much influence and can be the difference between life and death, poverty and war and all other terrible things we experience today. |
Oluboh:Here they come again. Poor quality citizens, shallow thinkers and knee jerk reactors. So they said in 2015. They took one subject, anti corruption and sang it round Nigeria as the only problem we had, using a 32 year old rhetoric as bait to elect a man for 8 solid years. Today, juvenile thinkers are running with only one symptom of a failed country, a failed system, insecurity. Little wonder our youth are so prone to illicit drugs and narcotics. They never think deeply about issues and challenges, only glossing ignorantly over problems and agonizing over symptoms rather than causatives. There are reasons why insecurity is rife, there are reasons why security institutions are inadequate and compromised, there are reasons why the citizenry are not cooperative, etc, etc. But all these things are glossed over by the citizens and they go ahead to load potential candidates who are as ignorant as they are with issues beyond their intellect, ability and control. Has governor Yahaya Bello detailed how he will tackle the security situation in Nigeria intellectually, holistically and logically...No, Big No. No. No. You are just making assumptions as the basis of conclusions too weighty to contemplate. And as we all know and have harrowingly experienced with this government. That assumptions are the mother of all co.ck-ups. You then elect someone and six months later regret the action and endure months and years of desperate degradation of society. Secure solid, intellectually based comittments from candidates FIRST or look for those who have enumerated those comittments BEFORE dancing nak.ed before them. Be wise, not sentimental. Stop giving those people EVERYTHING when they have not given you ANYTHING. |
'...sends a poor message to its citizens, investors and businesses...' At a time when we need all the economic help we can get from within and abroad. The personalisation of this government that I have wailed about for years is about to cost us even more... What a mess. |
Poverty is really, really, really bad. If only he knows.... 'sighs' |
But exactly what is the objective of make up as in this case... Can anyone suggest.... ladies... ? |
Kingsnairaland:I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Twitter brouhaha. Probably a follow up to a subject matter his audience are aware about. |
Good one from Dangote. |
chukwugoziegi:I just wonder. He's been dreadful this match. Only Ndidi and perhaps that Everton boy are anywhere near what we see of them in Europe. |
kelly8919:Had to mute it. An earsore. Very poor. Commentary is not a million words a minute it deflects from the game. For with the abundance of words comes comedic errors |
BKayy:You will not if you are inactive in business or scratch for a living. Those into the big deals and big things are feeling it as well. The risk levels are just rising which means more overheads to secure performance. Its bad out there. |
dragunov:Yes, and GEJ gave Mr. Buhari 21/odd million votes...abi. Keep playing the ostrich and don't own up to the responsibility that citizens only get what they are competent enough to. I hope when 2023 and beyond comes you will blame Mr. Buhari for the next terrible choice we are all lining up to campaign for, propagate and vote in. Nigerians never take personal responsibility for anything. Look at Nairaland. All the vociferous horde of supporters of this President and this government just a few years ago have all run away or changed identity. Only few stand original to their beliefs and are willing to take the blowback. That is the Nigerian for you. Irresponsible to the core. It is never their fault. Always someone elses. |
Right..so... I am not on Twitter or Facebook or any other such media but for those on, What is the experience like. |
9jvirgin:Hmmm...So what are you still doing spying on the asylum. Never seen an ex-con visit Alcatraz. |
DP. |
Free to move, live and conduct business ....except the sale of alcohol... For peace there has to be justice. For juatice there has to be understanding, for understanding there has to be negotiations and for negotiations there has to be a willingness to restructure.... ...and to restructure there has to be a realisation that no one can have it all... everything it wishes. |
The B52 is the ultimate badass aerial platform. Each can carry up to 30 tons of ordinance or enough nukes to terminate a whole country, and with the latest uograde can fly to any part of the globe without refuelling. The fact that the US has 76 operational platforms shoukd send shivers down the spine of any aggressor. |
True that. I bet if Pep was there from the start with Kun, he will not have scored half the number of goals amassed for the Citizens. Pep is a good coach but trying desperately to turn the laws of the beautiful game on its head has consequences. I believe the traditional number 9 will remain the top dog, the head honcho of association football no matter what Pep wants or does. |
I hope everyone who commented on the arrest of this young man the and protest that followed can go back and view their posts as a mirror to their souls and inquire of themselves whether they are indeed worthy to be called citizens of a nation that hopes to dig itself out of its numerous challenges. Such a pity. |
I hope his defection will trigger competitive democracy is Cross-River state. Another state that has stagnated and retrogressed under the total domination of the PDP since the dawn if the 5th Republic. It ia good for the polity, good for the state and good for the nation. I hope all other states that have suffered under the monopoly of power will see courageous men and women break free to birth democracy properly. |
KingsCity:That is why Nigeria should be restructured so that governance is competitive. You cannot gauge the quality of leadership when they all feed from the same trough. |
Pictures of park please.... if that is the subject matter. All I see here are pictures of tourists... But I can understand that Nigerians are always about he, she, they, them ....never about things. Always distracted. |
An opportunity to join the elite and out of the fringes of Europe. Grab it with both hands lad. |
