Slurity:But why bet on two top teams going for top spot in a reknowned, bitter rivalry. It is naive to predict anything about games like these. |
crazygod:He looks jaded. That is what the pressure cooker of the Prem does at the highest level. He should fancy a period on the bench to exhale and regain his mojo. Pity Klopp cannot see this and start Origi instead for the next few winnable games. What the hell was Minamino for. |
Wartsnigeria:And league winners accordimg to bookies. You just feel that Liverpool are running on fumes while United remain uncertain. The Prem is exceptionally hard to win and almoat impossible to defend in the era of big wallets and bigger egos. |
IYANGBALI:Perhaps not Martial but my hunch tells me if they see a clear line United will snatch it. Thete is something about teams that huff and puff an get stoned. It is a common story in the Prem. |
Honor10:Thiago is not at his best.....lots of mistakes. But it is Shaq that is well below par. Firminio is just a passenger, average as usual. Wirh the way things are going won't be surprised if United comes away with something. |
Shaqiri is too one legged to be an effective attacking midfielder. The modern game requires quick applications when the ball comes to you from either side of one's body. The constant twists to pass on his left blunts many attacks. |
Rgade:That is the future of university education in Nigeria. Government ownership and influence will gradually fade away. I see a future where universities are all owned by individuals, foundations, trusts, big corporations, special intetest groups and even trade unions. I think the earlier the government begins to think seriously in this direction the better before the whole thing collapses and certificates awarded are not worth the paper on which they are printed. |
Universities need to become privately run if they are to survive a complete collapse. It is clear this country no longer has the resources to provide qualitative education at that level to ALL eligible Nigerians. And this is simply because the government is not making money off Nigerians. If you ask me for a sincere answer I will say the university education system in Nigeria is irreparably damaged. Trust between the owners, government and the operators simply cannot be repaired and as such a completely new aproach is required. One that either completely changes the ownership or tje administration of these institutions of higher learning. |
Pls guys, where exactly is Odion Ighalo.... I hope all is well with him. Just feel for him when you see him on all these adverts.. |
costandi:That is how they roll, from one extreme to the other in search of ways to discredit scripture and all aimed at confusing the ignorant and inducing disobedience to the simple message that advocates for "children of God' to be modest in appearance, gentle in conduct and actionable in kind consideration for others. What is better than that in all humanity. But we are in a generation of 'flaunt it'. So the ladies shop window their bodies triggering an avalanche of perversion in society manifest in escalating incidences of sexual offences for which they end up being principal victims. The so called gentlemen on their part are in a generation of 'flaunt your riches', exchanging their worth in virtue for their worth in substance and by so doing triggering an avalanche of perversion in society manifest in escalating incidences of every sort of crime from fraud to narcotics and even worse ones such as kidnapping, robbery and human sacrifice for which they also are principal victims. We groan and moan about society's barrelling race to the bottom yet cannot find room in our hearts to obey the simple message of scripture. Not God's fault as to what we have made of ourselves. |
Sure. Since the whole tragedy has morphed into a commercial enterprise and an industrial complex, affirmative action has gone out the window. Why won't 'christians" and foreign 'investors' join the gravy train. After all the constitution forbids entrepreneurial discrimination. |
zoputa:Elaborate on the terminology 'sexy' and you will in all likelihood instantly get an answer. Webster defines sexy as: sexually suggestive and/or stimulating otherwise known as erotic, pertaining to a person or generally attractive and/or interesting otherwise known as appealing, pertaining to a thing. So ask yourself, if it is "proper" (your words) for a "Christian lady" including at the request of her husband to dress out for sexual suggestion or for eroticism. Go figure. |
A country of weaklings becoming the fiefdom of autocratic monstrosities. Like they desperately want to turn Nigeria to personal property. |
Good concept but terrible implementation as per government's DNA. They should continue the program but lift the deadline until they iron out the creases. |
Disclaimer12:Abegi. That is what democracy is all about. Anyone who has any iota of leadership knowledge and experience at any level will understand that criticism is an integral part of leadership and is there to prove or disprove focus. That you expect as a leader to be applauded does not connote service but suggets that favours are being done and in Africa this is deadly. We have not even scratched the surface of good governance in Nigeria or selfless sevice and you want us all to become communists in applause. Don't even go there. No leader present or future and no government on the left or right will rule without scathing dismissal. That is a given in any democracy particularly one that is misfiring. I like the airport. Nice. But I like rhe critcism as well so, it is absolutely rubbish. One thing for sure. I will not clap for anyone who said he comes to govern as sacrificial service. You should not. |
mansakhalifa:Yeah, but settled for a glass of ice cold bitter lemon. Some comments...duh ![]() |
Angelfrost:True that. The only reservation I have about the Premiership for any alien newbie is that Prem managers are on a short chain so most do not involve themselves in player adaptation or development. If you are not an academy product your chances of success are as most zero. League clubs in lower tier continental Europe are run almost like academies, frequently experimenting with overseas players and youngsters because managers in these leagues are not under the same kind of pressures as in England. There was just no way Pep was going to sit back and patiently develop Kelechi. Where is the time for that when those Atrabs are baying for a UCL crown. Lyon wins UCL or not is no big deal. No pressure there so they can experiment. |
mansakhalifa:So irritating I need mints to avoid throwing up...arrgh ![]() They say hindsight is 20/20 but if this was the privileged path of Kelechi's career I bet he will have done a lot better today. |
DP. |
kenzysmith:Comparing Westham and Leeds to OL eh ..some folks just specialise in speaking utter balderdash... OL once a serial winner of Lique 1 so the pedigree is there, OL features in Europe almost every season so the exposure is there, And like the Eredivisie, the Lique 1 is a better gateway to Spain, Italy or Germany than the busstop called the English Premiership. |
blackpanda:Answer nau. You just made a wonderful pitch for 'buy Nigeria' to attack inflation and you are immediately called out about leadership which should be flying the flag of these reforms and you say derailing the topic.... Is this not the simple reason why patriotism is next to impossible in Nigeria, hypocrisy and the specialisation amongst our leaders to the mantra of do what I say and ignore what I do. We were taught as cub scouts all those days back to 'follow the leader...' Following leadership is real discipleship and in these climes many will say real patriotism....now can we talk about medical tourism, capital flight and inflation...if you will not mind the 'trivialities'... ![]() |
A storm is coming....brace for impact... |
23 deaths in a day should be a new national record. There are grounds for serious concern in this country. |
Mysticwebb:Ooops. Lesson to all extremists including those racists and ethnic jingoists here and on all media. You are just caging yourselves and building vast prison walls around your destinies. If you cannot be fair and for the good of all whatever you sow will be eaten up and whatever you build will become an ash heap. |
INTERPOL should be after that Lille FC Chairman for the scam of the century. Pepe for 80mill is akin to a Ponzi shake down. The chap will not make several Championship squads. |
Too many poor quality players in this team. Arsenal becoming an established mid table team. What a gross deterioration of a once great brand. |
This is what we had said long ago. Yes, a devolved law enforcement system is absolutely fundamental to qualitative security service at all levels but this is NOT the way to go about it. There was no prior wide ranging consultation on the architecture, structure, functions, limitations and so on. Amotekun was just a rushed, knee jerk reaction to the cascading wave of crime in the southwest and now the ill conceptualised outfit is showing its flaws. The danger here is that its trademark could be irreparably damaged before it has the time to reform and worse still is the ammunition it gives the enemies of restructuring of not jist only the sevurity architecture in Nigeria but the entire workings of this country. What a pity. Won't the promoters of the status quo ante just be licking their lips now. |
Hmmm.....classic case of a lizard in Nigeria.... |
In a nutshell if Mr. Tinubu knows there is a gangup agsinst his political ambition why doesn't he just roll the dice and go for broke, wagering it all on the people's mandate.... Why doesn't he setup shop and begin to sell his wares immediately. What is he waiting for. The citizens so tortured and beleaguered by this government are ripe for ideological pickings and he will surely be the first and last to drink clean water ftom the pool of advocacy before it is all muddied with lies, and political deception. In my opinion this is a Mexican standoff and he should shoot first to survive. It is clear he will not negotiate his way out of this one. The owners of Nigeria are not on his side. |
Elections are supposed to be about us the citizens of this country and not for a bunch or clique of people to decide. That is why it never works in our favour. If Tinubu is interested in running he should have started speaking directly to 'we the people' outlining what he will do for us who are the focus and objectives of this democracy. The fact that he does not believe the citizens of this country can independently empower him to office without the influence of a cabal speaks volumes and indicates democracy in Nigeria is still not working well.... ...and to make matters worse it indicates that if he eventually finds himself there through any other means but the expressed, independent will of the people he will certainly not serve their interests. This is my problem with affirmative action. This is why I just donot like arrangee stuff. Once again I repeat this. Mr Tinubu and others interested in governing Nigeria should come out NOW and start outlining their vision for Nigeria and how to tackle the numerous challenges we face so we may all have time as a people to work with him/them to actualise any potential mandate. Let the people truly be in charge this time around. |
As the general elections slowly creeps into view watch and see how religious 'zealotry' arises. This is always the ways and means to line up their ducks or carole the populace into focus. Once they have their attention they distract them from the bigger picture of governance in one fell swoop. Just see how power failure to the real issues is happening in the minds of vast swathes of Nigerians. |
In the last year and a half no one talks anymore about the anti corruption fight they so boasted about in their ascension to government...because quite frankly it is only the living that can fight corruption and the dead no longer needs to steal. Hopefully we can now see clearly that corruption is not the biggest problem facing Nigeria but our failed structure that creates the perfect storm for all the societal diseases we see today. Can anybody in all honesty, looking himself in the mirror see a better Nigeria in this trajectory we are set on. Is there anybody...... |
