bash8936:A Presidential aspirant will not comment on perhaps the most important issue of our time that directly affects his constituency... negatively for that matter...Wow! What is he going to be campaigning about....the ozone layer?....or alien abductions.... You guys have totally hopeless expectations of the people you want to empower. The simple question I will then ask you and folks like you is this: WHAT ARE YOU SUPPORTING THESE PEOPLE THESE SO CALLED LEADERS FOR. When it is clear that all their actions spell selfishness which will certainly lead to a personalisation of government if you dare empower them. |
freeman67:First two are capped and lost for eternity. |
Eberechi Eze is better than them all bar a capping by the 'Three Lions'. |
Not 'an illiterate', just illiterate please. My mum is illiterate, meaning she cannot read and write, in the English language I suppose. |
Exactly what probably he and a good number of Nigerians including myself accused Rotimi Amaechi of doing in the run up to the 2015 elections. The personalisation of government. Where the people do not matter and government resources are at the pleasure of the Chief Executive. Rivers people. That is where your taxes and hard earned liabilities to the state are going....without your permission of course but in your docility, with your consent certainly. PS. I will add this. The people have to realise that when power is given accountability must follow in an instant and a memo from the people stating without delay what they expect of government and the conduct of elected officials. You simply donot give your servant money without instructions and expect accountability. No one does that. Your demeanour will send signals to your servant on what he can and cannot get away with. That is the way democracy works. It is a vehicle. It needs a driver. The people are the drivers. |
1Alex:That is exactly what we say. A new approach, not just old wine with a new label. Community policing will only succeed if the community is comfortable with it. Meaning that it must have serious community input. What is wrong in asking various communities to nominate vetted youth members and the police training them and then deploying them back without uniform but with badges of authority and the communities paying their stipends by levy so that they are answerable to the communitues but regulated by law. I just suspect all these half measures by government are towards one end. They still want total oversight of the instruments of power in Nigeria. They are just not willing to let the citizens of this country govern themselves in any meaningful way. Policing to them is a venture less about security but more about control and that is classic colonial administration. PS: The FRSC has special marshals that are non uniformed, non establishment but still carry out the work effectively when called upon with a mind for road safety but a heart closer to the public. Why can't community policing run along such lines. |
You will have thought they will be fresh, young men and women, hungry to do.the work of securing their communities with fresh ideas, zest and faces the public will be comfortable to relate with. When will the police realise that its strength lies in its ability to effectively interact with the people it serves. Why must it always seek to build fences between itself and the public that should be joint owners of this security franchise called community policing. If this constabulary thing is just a chip off the old block, I'm afraid the IG will still not sleep soundly. We need something new. |
giftedben:With Frankie out there is just one English gaffer in the top half of the Prem. Telling. |
rottennaija:It is that 'anything can happen' that worried Father Abraham. |
kenzysmith:My thoughts as well. A club competing at the highest levels but with modest expectations to ease the pressure on him and a present manager that cannot get anything right despite opportunity after opportunity in Steve Bruce. |

Reports say only one of the signings was his. You must understand how club management works. |
By the end of the decade every manager in Europe will have gone through the gaffers office. The seats must be completely worn by now and spirits roaming the corridors. Chelsea fc is becoming the Alcatraz of coaches. |
8stargeneral:.....yeah oya sing along.. 'Fada Abraham has many sons, many sons has faaada Abraham, Frankie's one of them and so is Tomas Tuchel....so let us praise Roman...left turn, right turn, face up, about turn, sit down... Oya, once again... 'Fada Abraham has many sons..many sons has faaada Abraham I am on one of them as Chelsea coach.... by 2025.... |
Triangles1:....with 'Pepe' chicken... |
Powersurge:I have said it many times before. Leadership in Nigeria is very poor. But if your daddy or my daddy was a drunk you have a choice of either becoming one or not. It is a very hard thing but the world shows us that experiences can always change forthe better if people are willing to. If I have a habit that is killing me. The choice will always, ultimately be mine to make for the better. Personally I will not deceive myself about Nigeria. If we donot develop a taste for our rice, warts and all, we CAN NEVER have food sufficiency or food security and if we cannot find a way to generate forex to cover our appetite we will remain poor. |
VeeVeeMyLuv:My dear we own this country (supposedly) and have no other. We are the drivers of our destiny. If we are not prepared to suffer to fix it, who will. I myself abhor local rice. I cannot touch it. But I cannot blame anyone else but myself for that when faced with the truth of the consequences. That we are enriching others at our expense. Poverty or wealth are a choice. I cannot see where wealth will come from if we cannot survive on our own. We certainly cannot borrow our way to prosperity. Who does that.? |
Nice one. As we keep saying all the tribes all over Nigeria have evil people and devil all over them. That is why we keep saying they should never ascribe a crime to a particular people. It will only make innocent, yorubas, Igbos, Hausas lose their lives......something the bastards fuelling this carnage has been praying for, just to put the country in chaos, we see the miserable ones on social media supporting their evil gods also. We are so sure that for any kidnapping situation in that part of the country, all they will be shouting are Fulanis, Fulanis, when it is the evil indigenes among them kidnapping and killing themselves. All these Fulani issue is by all these evil politicians getting ready for 2023 and the bastards praying for war in Nigeria. But we will let them know that they and all the foolish and evil herdsmen they are sponsoring to cause mayhem in this nation will all perish one by one before 2023. No be curse, Na FACT! That hypocrisy will kill many Nigerians before their times. That is the truth of the matter. We will continue to hit their empty brains with the truth and nothing but the truth. Amen. God bless you too sir. God bless you too sir. Goodness and Mercy follow you everyday. A better Nigeria is all we want. It is always good and refreshing to see we still have people like you on this forum and in the country. The future of our country is secured if we can have more youths that reason in positivity. God bless you once more. God bless Nigeria.
Oga. Just accept the fact that Nigeria is this way because your principal wants it like this. Leadership is about vision. Is this his vision for Nigeria or not? If it is not then it means his leadership is ineffectual and he has little control over matters of state. No matter how you twist it responsibility lies somewhere. You guys just cannot hide from that fact. He was elected to MAKE THINGS BETTER. That's all. If all the blame goes to the led, what is the point of leadership, government, elections and perhaps democracy. |
Powersurge:Sometimes you cannot have an economic revolution without a cultural revolution first. If you are told smoking is bad for your health and you should chew gum instead to prolong your life then certain habits have to die. Our taste for foreign imports is one half of the reasons we cannot balance our books. There is just no way out of that vicious cycle with a cultural revolution. We as Nigerians just have to begin to like what we make and once that is established then we improve to whatever degree we want. That is how all nations develop. We appear to be a people of terribly weak will power. |
Vistra40:Everybody has. But if wrong choices have no penalty an endless cycle of degeneration is inevitable. So if anyone feels he or she made a wrong choice in 2015 he or she needs to be constantly reminded of that day after day up until he or she has an opportunity to correct it. That is the way democracy works. You get what you want. There are consequences for actions. Elections are serious decision making events and not the playthings of children. |
Is there anything left unsaid. Now we can see.that corruption is NOT the biggest challenge Nigeria has ever had. Yes, corruption remains the great symptom of our time but structure has always been the great causative, the great virus on whose back many anti-social ills reign supreme. A country whose inhabitants cannot sit down round a table and negotiate out common values cannot develop. It is as simple as that. It is not a mystical curse just a plain fact of life. Said it before this government was elected. That the only achievements visible by 2023 will be superficial, a few roads, rail lines and those things so cosmetic that they will pale into insignificance compared to the more weighty effects of a poor structure that will rubbish any efforts at moving this country forward. I hope come 2023 people will rally round common ideals and empower people that will deliver what they really want. Leaders that can be led. The time of worthless sentiment is over. |
AlhajiImam:So why the call for arrest if the misunderstanding is 'little'. Illogical isn't it. It is either the call for arrest is highly misplaced or the misunderstanding is a little bit more than little. |
ikorodureporta:Virtually all viruses leave lasting damage to organs, some benign and some serious. That is why it is important NOT TO GET INFECTED. Studies into the long term prognosis is on. Folks think because the mortality rate is relatively low they can bear the risk of infection . I just shudder. |
As seen somewhere on cyberspace........
The door to talk called restructuring has been open for decades, now the flood waters have risen such that a window of opportunity is all that is left. By the time the deluge rises to the roof.... |
Most divisive government in history. Doing absolutely nothing to heal and unite. Just threats and more threats in protection of sectional agendas. |
Invitation to the toilet. |
See all of them debating how to put out a fire. When it reaches the roof no one will be concerned about semantics, optics and procedurals. A time will come when those with their heads in the sand will beg and seek restructuring with tears and find it not. In the meanwhile let them continue playing the fiddle. |

When we were screaming restructuring. That the structure of the country was the most important factor in the lives of Nigerians they said no. That our mouths were smelling. That corruption was the biggest problem and an anti corruption superhero was here to save the day and guarantee future prosperity. Is there anyone today in doubt that Nigeria as a nation does not have a future geographical address thoughtless of prosperity if the course on which we sail continues. |
