When we say restructure, they say no. A time comes when even restructuring will be a mirage. Men will desperately seek solace in it but it will be out of reach. |
I Islie:Understaffed and underfunded yet can afford over 150million for each of the service chiefs in cars alone every four years amongst other post service perks. You folks are irredeemable 'kleptocrats'. When the last soldier resigns then we start from scratch with real patriots. |
As a PDP chieftain how will he know. |
MrNipplesLover:Still better than killing them to shut them up. If a criminal dies in prison mysteriously or a suspect in custody in developed climes the first line of thought will be that it was a hit. We the people should demand for proper investigation of criminal cases. We should demand for the total independence of the police from political authority. And it starts by taking away the powers of the President to nominate/appoint the IG. Greet you too. Have a nice day and observe all anti-infection Covid protocols. |
Ghostrye:Yes and no. Every establishment will have some sort of regulation, a bit lax on the business/services side/front desk/shop window side of things and a bit stricter behind all that. Most important thing is that they are published and i meets with the sensibilities of the vaat majority of its customers. If it sounds politically correct, then you are right. There is no straight answer. One man's liberties is another's captivity. |
So what is he saying in a nutshell. That the security services are doing Uber for the bandits because it was alleged a 'donated' vehicle was caught up in a bandit raid. I don't get it.... |
People worshippers. The subject matter is police station donated and not even one shot of the 'ultra modern'.... whatever. |
MrNipplesLover:And then your type will come out tomorrow to wail about the failure of govermwnt to dwtermine 'the sponsors' of insurgency, kidnappings, etc. Then wail about where all their arms and stores come from and on and on and on. Questions and more questions because the usual mindset after the fact is that they are charged to court and sentenced, that's all....no questions asked. No one wants to know anything about anything. That is the tragedy of law enforcement in Nigeria. Incompetence because of ignorance. ignorance because of sentiment. |
To catch an unknown specie of animal is not new. Scientists have done that for the last thousand and a half years. It is more important to name, describe then and then study their chatacteristics so their nature can be understood and our relationship with them determined. If scientists killed of every creatire they encountered in the wild before this process today we will not know that a bee can produce honey but sting you to death. We will not know that we can produce anti venom from venom snakes and wr will not know bat delicacies can kill us long after they themselves are dead. Folks, knowledge is everything. Say no to lynchings, assasinations and all extra-judicial killings of crime suspects and criminals. Let us make a demand on the authorities of the law to begin a knowledge based approach to crime prevention. Violence will never deter crime, it only deters investigation, analysis and strategy, it only deters knowledge. |
PussyKing:Shameful for an adult to be speaking this way. These figures don't even scratch the reality. Folks have died of this pestilence with no publicity because of denials and a sense of fatalism. It is ugly out there. And I have said it several times. We will probably be in the batch of the last nations to solve this mess because of incapable authorities and an irresponsible, ignorant citizenry. |
Yes indeed. The great story of how a wiggly worm becomes a beautiful butterfly. My friend 11 years you have lusted over that woman, now the test of true love has come. Wrinkles for velvet skin, bumps for the children you have and rimmed glasses for two inch long eyelashes. You have just started pal. |
When we say restructure they say no. Have it your way. I hope the anti-corruption fight since 2015 will solve all Nigeria's problems. |
Ghozky:As their terrible socio-economic situation is so their healthcare system. There are seriously ignorant people in that locality who don't give a damn about their development prospects, standard of living or quality of life. |
That is why without restructuring this country can never work. If this governor depended solely on taxation for survival and needed the state to be at peace for there to be people and businesses to tax in the first instance, it doesn't take rocket science to know banditry will be long history. But as long as you get a several billions every month come rain and shine, in peace and in war, why wouldn't you permit a near state of emergency to persist where your Executive powers will be enhanced by emergency rules and where public resources can be spent without a shred of accountability. Who will the EFCC question on these slush funds, the bandits with societal immunity or you with Constitutional immunity.... |
A few days ago a certain governor said christians and aliens and all what not were involved in the "business" of insecurity. Looking at the return on investment we see here I cannot understand why there should be discrimination against other citizens on the basis of religion or rejection of 'foreign investment'.... Folks, a new industry has come. Perhaps bandits will soon list on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.. |
Fair enough and ir will be great of they could be get some sort of adult education so that their lives can be enhanced. Train the woman and you change the destiny of a generation. |
If Mr. Minister is a true believer he will dump his Toyota Land cruiser VX and drive this one home abi. Nation of theorists. I believe I have seen dozens of such presentations over the years. Then what... Compare this to the 'All Electric Flight' revolution I was watching on the Curiosity Channel yesterday and how it is relatively easy for pioneering scientists, engineer and technologists to launch from idea, page and screen to tangible experimental pieces in a blink of an eye. I don't think our problem is the lack mof risk takers, explorers and innovators. Our problem is structure and framework, a foundation that makes dreams potent and realisable. |
illicit:That is why you don't lynch them or summarily execute them merely out of fear, anger or sdpite without performing the little thing called investigation so that some or all the crime related questions could be answered and all the speculation put to rest as to sponsorship and associations, equipment and logistics, modus operandi, background, influence and ideology....etc. For that is the only way to get ahead of crime, Intel. And as they say, if you won't question the man you cannot question his ghost. Say no to extra-judicial killing of any kind. |
We do not need new political parties. A duopoly is the most efficient system for democratic progress. It is just enough to generate a power flux but a lot cheaper than anything more. An it is the shortest route to an ideologically based political architecture. The problem is not with the APC or the PDP. They are mere vehicles. The accidents we see are due to drunk political driving. |
Auba's form and the Naira have something in common...trying hard to remember what... |
Humanity is a bit more resilient today to that kind of thing thanks to technology and science but our resilience will come against even greater threats and challenges in the future. We are certainly in the end of days. It will all come to end one fateful day. |
AlphaBeta130:They are the super spreaders. Young, mobile and rebellious. Covid will spread like wildfire amingst the college population but probably casualties will not be exceptional. So as a student, obey the protocols, keep fit and stay away from controlled substances and donot sabotage your Ministry of Defence. Covid 19 is the biological Boko Haram of our time. |
Samson0599:Because that is where the next generation is huddled together. And there is something unnerving about watching kids suffer and hopefully not lose their lives unnecessarily or avoidably. Children the world over are vulnerable and must be protected at all costs. That is why. |
The virus hasn't morphed to be a direct threat to that age group so for now no problems but, BUT it is only a matter of time before it jumps the age barrier. The biggest challenge remains the long term physiological damage this virus is going to cause to humanity as a whole, symptoms or not. We will learn more of this pandemic as the years unwind. |
Amd what do they do with all this money....nothing positive that adds value to humanity. |
Alphasoar:That will be the question of our time come 2023. I will be keen to see how they will square the circle in praising a regime yet calling for a change. In a nutshell if it ain't broken, why change it. It will be so comedic. Let us see whom Nigerians will listen too, the naysayers or the yes men. Yahaya Bello is already at the fringes of falling into that web, the trap of double speak and poignant hypocrisy. |
dorothy111:Once again. A system that forces a choice between bad, worse and worst, not good, better and best is not fit for purpose and needs to be dumped. |
Indeed. With your state an amusement park for banditry, kidnapping and highway robbery. Save yourself first. |
We are not behaving as if we are in a recession and under austerity measures. This government deserves no sympathy whatsoever in its economic woes. A good chunk of it is self inflicted. |
HeWrites:Glad you now know better. That violence does not achieve anything. Folks, say no to violence of any kind. |
C ednut1:Almost all the facilities for the London 2012 Olympics are in private or quasi private hands today having been sold off. What is government doing with a stadium after an event for heavens sake. That stadium in Lagos was built to host the All African Games just as the on in Abuja was intended and immediately after the games it should have passed on as a commercial enterprise while it still held sporting attraction. Hosting big sporting or cultural events come once or at most twice in a lifetime and that is enough for government to invest massively in new stadia and once they are over recoup part of its investments and move on. A win win for all. |
Good savings for the Gunners piggy bank...then they will get scammed once again while looking for tokunboh players. |
