Okay police I want to believe you but....14 expended catridges only in a whole forty-five minute gun battle is....not exactly gallantry. At 3 minutes 21 seconds per shot interval it rather sounds like a Mexican standoff. You could prepare a bowl of indomie, grill catfish fillets and make a glass of orange juice while exchanging fire in this circumstance....or am I missing something here... |
Ishilove:Perhaps there maybe some good in all of this. For those who thought Tithing was a get rich quick scheme, may they be enlightened. For others who love God, want to see people saved by the preaching of the gospel, their ship of faith has already sailed into the steady waters of their obligations towards His kingdom. You can give without loving but you cannot love without giving. |
Old habits die hard. |
EternalTruths:Of course. That is the skewed nature of this unworkable entity. Since you cannot get social justice and equity, the institutions that should moderate society are constantly unbalanced and misfiring like an engine with half or its plugs burnt. |
Zico5:Freeze or whatever is his name may as well tell folks not to drink Coca-Cola. In the end it is a personal decision of which issues of faith are. It remains his personal decision. He did not bring the folks he addresses to church or Christ. He cannot decide how they live their lives in church or in Christ. He cannot make everyone like himself. The so called pastors have broken no law against the nation. The first complaint was about how churches were mushrooming everywhere you turn. Now it is clear how this is possible, tithes and offerings, so the new found attack against the finances of the church. Every interface the church has with the people is ruthlessly criticised. Their schools are criticised, their hospitals criticised, their enterprises criticised yet the naysayers accuse the church of doing nothing for society, nothing to create jobs, nothing to help their local community. The question is, do these folks work for free and if they don't won't someone have to pay them. Is it God who will come down to write cheques for their wages. Does freeze work for free. Who pays his salary and where does the money come from and if I had an opinion of how much he was to earn, will he get half of that... Angry folks should get ready to explode because soon the church will have more people on its payroll than government, it will probably have more educational facilities, more hospitals, more aircraft in its fleet, cultivate more hectares of land for agriculture and build more commercial properties and build more roads than those who take VAT, PAYE and Corporate dues and still maintain a 10% levy...to envy... |
poseidon12:Indeed. Helpmeet also means helping him not to become corrupt by dissipating financial pressure as and when due. For instance the man maybe inspired on a life project or a vision beyond his immediate capacity. It is up to the woman to stabilize the home while the man makes the sacrifices to actualise the goal. They then share the reward and glory. There goes the saying, that 'behind every successful man is a woman'. If there is such synergy then the question of financial disclose just becomes mundane. |
seunmsg:Buhari wins with a landslide and then what.... that is the problem. There is nothing people see beyond that. You rather have an election without any tangible benefits, without account, without credible plans and purposes. In this day and age it is not good enough for a growing country that needs almost everthing to survive. It is like marrying a wife for...nothing, just picking a name out of the phone book. Have you considered what other candidates have to offer, what they can do differently. What you folks fail to understand is that advancement throuh democracy does not come by the quality of individuals but the accountability of the process. What are you holding the present government to. Have they fulfilled their promises, have they kept their manifesto. If you can't be empirical or analytical with this then how are you a credible citizen as well. How do you prove you act beyond sentiments. Elections are like examininations which come up at specific periods during the school calendar. No matter how brilliant a student is in class, he or she needs to be proven. No school will waive an examination on the recommendation of a teacher. Elections are also like sporting contests, most come up every year. Chelsea was champions last season but they have to defend their crown again. At the moment it is clear by the table they are not the best team this time around. How are you sure Buhari will be the best candidate come 2019. By inference, left to you Chelsea should hold the league title for the next four years, no contest. How then can the game grow. Why will players and coaches and clubs want to improve if there are no contests repeatedly. How can the fans, the electorate benefit from a system that stigmatises contests and other contestants....nuff said. Nigerians must be realsitic and cast aside sentiment. Yes, Buhari maybe the best thing in 2015, but not to aspire for something better or at least try to improve the system by the threat to shake them up is not patriotic. |
surgical:The reality is clear. Until we restructure we cannot have quality candidates and the sour apple pies we have been served continuously since independence is because the apples are bad. Having said that we need to make the best of what we have and the second best way is to develop institutions, systems and processes for long term sustainability of this country. Nigeria as an entity is dying but we can prolong its survival by supporting its existing structures. Building institutions, evolving the right perspectives. Like you said, the youth should know one important thing, that is politicians are expendible and not the tin gods they apear to be. They are public setvants so should be used and dumped when they outlive their usefulness. Politicians occupy the lowest rungs of respectability in most progressive societies. But in Nigeria they idolised like rock stars but who give scant pleasure and almost all pain, why. |
seunmsg:So we should not have an election because of what the southwest or....whoever thinks is possible or not. Like him or not Atiku is not wasting his time. I personally donot vote but he has contributed a lot to the quality of democracy we have today by making every electoral contest since 2007 resembling something like competitive and compelling. He stood solidly against the 3rd term bid of Obasanjo which if it suceeded then will have become a Mugabe or Museveni 5th term by now. Yes, he is overambitious and not exactly quality qualified but who is....in this structure we operate. But anyone who does not want a genuine contest in 2019 for the political soul of this country is too partisan and too naive to be a true democrat and nation builder. Buhari was accepted partly because he was the only one with the clout to remove an incumbent. We should have similar strong opposing candidates in all elections with the potential to change government so that we are not taken for granted. I support the betterment of the system not the individual. |
DrMuzungu:Exactly. Amateur boxers wear headguards that are softer than the human skull, why...because they absorb and dissipate the energy of a blow far slower than the rigid skull bone of a human and that's why fewer amateur boxers die from head wounds than professionals. Similarly old battle tanks had a major flaw. No matter how thick the armoured plating you only needed enough kinetic energy not to penetrate the armour but to cause hypersonic vibrations passing through the cabin which will kill all the crew men even if the spalling of the inner steel surface didn't. With the development of kevlar and reactive armour the energy of incoming ordinance could be dissioated before it enters the cabin. If the Accord was made all steel the driver will probably be incapacitated by at least whiplash. |
Kelklein:Don't be ignorant. A simple knowledge of physics should tell you that in order to improve safety and survivability in impact accidents the aim should be to remove kinetic energy as slowly as possible. That means airbags for passengers and 'crumple zones' for vehicles. It makes the entire vehicle a shock absorber by using 'elastic skin materials front, side and rear impact zones over a rigid subframe. It may look catastrophic to we poor third worlders but body panels are the cheapest, fastest and easiest parts to replace or repair with the right tools and equipment. Perhaps we will ask God Almighty one day why He made skin so soft instead of coating us with a tough shell like an armadillo, then when you consider the life of a snail or tortoise you may just appreciate it. The switch from all steel to composites was to improve safety and reduce weight for better efficiency. |
boboye012:Indomie generation....no pun intended... |
basic23111:You should know that income is a snapshot sum of the total worth of a man. That is the summation of all the education, information and inspiration the individual has been able to garner and deploy to create the forces of skill, risk and/or effort for which he is compensated. So declaring your income is more or less writing your autobiography because you cannot seperate a man's life from his income. This information in the hands of a good partner may actually help to vett your life to make it more efficient. In the hands of a poor partner it may generate or further inordinate passions and sentiments. |
It is the right thing to do because it fits into the financial structure of a strong, stable family. It can however be be tricky where earnings are not fixed and scheduled like a salary. Multiple jobs, business and investment income maybe too dynamic or unpredictable to report accurately constantly and this can lead to misconception or misunderstanding. For this reason instead of earnings reporting couples may just operate a demand or budget based system where responsibilities are shared proportionally with shortfalls (deficits) or surpluses only discussed at specific time periods. Couples may also operate a joint account with specific contributory targets which may form the basis of 'family earnings'. In this case they continue to operate independent finances which in some cases may prove healthy for the development of the relationship. Some individuals actually perform better when gi en the liberty to keep finances personally personal. All these matters are best discussed and sorted out in courtship so that agreements and arrangements can be made prior to practice in marraige.. |
Sanchez01:He must accept this as an intrinsic part of this system Nigeria operates. Without restructuring there can never be proper contests for political offices. The APC faces the same problem. It cannot have a northern or western chairman no matter how eligible. This is the sad reality of our present existence. |
..hmmm which means the veep job goes east or south. Should go east in all fairness. Eastern Nigeria has been faithful to the PDP and has suffered a lot of persecution for it. And the south is just ex-presidency. |
Keneking:Tony Stark has a hand in this budget. |
lastchild:Read all my previous posts on this and note carefully the solutions. Just yesterday the army chief indirectly admitted it was a war that cannot be won militarily. |
....hmmm at this rate I hope our local boys won't start skin toning and wearing blonde toupees... |
Winter break is upon us and the transfer window is about open. As usual rumours abound about who's coming and who's going and trust coach Arsene Wenger.... sorry the PDP to be in the midst of speculation with endless inquiries to strengthen his weak squad.... sorry party, after successive failure at the polls and his inability to land a major trophy... sorry electoral victory, having consistently been made to do with the lesser FA Cup.... sorry local government victories. Now it appears the wishes of gunners.... sorry PDP fans are coming thick and fast after the pre-window acquisition of Alexander Lacatiku.... the speculation is rife that Thomas Rabiu Lemar a.k.a the red cap sharp shooter may be on his way as well.... more details shortly.. |
Sad. Product of a failed country....failed system....failed institutions.... |
It is not about where the candidate is from rather how enlightened, responsible and efficient those who put them into power are at demanding results for their franchise. Not until we see government as a business in which shareholders demand performance from the executives will we continue to be ridden like an ass. Ask yourself what southern politicians at all levels have positively done independently. I asked several folks after the last polls how sure they were that they will get the so called dividends of democracy and the results was overwhelming. Almost every one 'hoped' the Buhari government would deliver and I was aghast. You don't send your child to school and 'hope' he learns, you don't deposit your money in the bank and 'hope' to get is back when required, you don't pay for an international passport and hope it gets processed. Yes you may hope your child passes an exam, you may hope your bank offers you a loan, you may hope to get your passport tomorrow morning but if you cannot distinguish between what is a right and a privilege in this democracy game, what is compulsory and what is discretionary, what is expected of elected leadership, then it doesn't matter who is elected, there will be scant performance and overwhelming disappointment. Democratic values are like electricity in that it is current, volatile and dangerous. They are difficult to 'store', must be used at face value and remain invisible until a demand 'load' is placed upon it. Those who say criticising government amounts to 'hating' may as well say hot oil hates on raw eggs. Who cares... I like mine scrambled.... |
Did some field work in that area in 2012. It was the toughest place I ever worked and it added 10 kilogrammes of mental muscle to my psyche in only six months. They are hard eggs to crack. |
And in the course of a four year tenure that is about 68million....I can only imagine that they have those typical old western bar fights after every meal to spend that much on crockery...or they pack takeaway meals in fine china instead of styrofoam.....by 2019 everyone will be demystified... |
Can you imagine such....honestly this'd country has truly sunk. Somewhere in the recruitment process you are explicitly required to disclose any 'foreign' associations and will certainly not be accepted if admitted not to talk about being found out. That is an instant court-martial and dismissal. I just don't know wait the work of the MP's and the DMI is anymore. They should just thank their stars the days of military coups are gone. |
'...because he did not get what he wanted' .... in the APC.... sounds more like perversion rather than politics to me. Who will have a honest desire towards service and think like this... |
igbodefender:With all your 'Tinubanlaysis' what makes you think Tinubu won't run for President himself since you say the 'party machinery' will be handed over to him. What makes you think the Igbo presidency is a possibility under the APC when the east is the defacto stronghold of present day political opposition, it is dominated by opposition parties and will not vote APC in any way, shape or form. Even the north will be scared sh.itless to 'give' the east the captain's bridge so soon after the secession battles... |
By 2019 everyone will be be demystified. Corruption IS NOT THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA. It is merely the symptom of a greater malaise. |
fuckerstard: abi oh....what we hear these days are folks eating wildlife to survive.... snakes, rats, chimps, lizards.... no thanks to our faulty structure which has set us back to the stoneage.... won't be surprised to see Nigerians dig up the fossil of T-Rex to make peppersoup. |
naptu2: Naa...that was pyjamas stuff. This is a business suit....dope. |
If Ozil speaking (about Alexis Sanchez's leaving Arsenal) to team mates said 'your club' it means he intended to leave as well abi... so could it be that Buhari in putting himself on the transfer market since the January (winter) transfer window is at hand... |
id4sho: He is deploying his antenna so that under his sky blue robe there will be full network.... both voice and data |
