OrestesDante:Neither was Buhari but in 2015 he was the only person with the political might to unseat Jonathan and the PDP. By 2019 Nigerians should be given a choice again close to equilibrium. Nigeria is too backward to have landslides and weak electoral contests. Even if Atiku loses the heat generated by the process will ensure Buhari and the APC strive to improve their dismal performamces and make radical reformatory changes for the good of the nation. Nigeria does not need a one-party state neither can it afford the laxities created by weak political forces. |
sarrki:And by 2019 Buhari will be sweet sixteen abi.... What the country needs now is virile democracy, a strong opposition party and two equally matched candidates. Forget personalities. They will come and go. It is the process that matters. Atiku warts and all remains the strongest candidate to bring about equilibrium in the polity. Our structure cannot bring about quality candidates. Until we restructure the only thinqg this nation can do is to build its institutions and it will be best served by equally opposing political forces. |
Only if John Wick is camp commandant. |
adeniyi55:Your street indeed... sorry but what I intended to say would offend you seriously so I just let it pass. .. |
BluntBoy:This is absolutely not true. Fatal accidents happen all the time and in very few cases will mob action take place. Bystanders will distinguish between an accident and vehicular assault. Someone said she was taking or making a phone call. That is why she ran. She knew it is against the law and pisses off most decent folks out there. |
Looks hideous. Should be torn down and completely rebuilt. Government should not be involved in the hospitality business. They just cannot cut it And the business model trends towards small, nimble, 2 and 3 star outlets with a few dozen rooms that are essentially BB's. These behemoths can only survive on foreigners with deep pockets and then they will go for international brands. This hotel simply cannot make money in Enugu. |
By 2019 they will all be demystified. |
seunowa:And believe me if Atiku grants them a better deal they will support him at the polls. Once again what is fundamentally wrong with that. Is it only your grouping entitled to electoral benefits. What is difficult in accepting that Nigeria is a plural society. Is this China or North Korea... |
mach7:Of course he wants to run for president. Has he ever hidden that fact. That is why he went to the APC because he could not obtain the ticket with Jonathan as President. He contested the APC's primaries. Why didn't the APC stop him then. Now that his chances against another incumbent is equally as remote he is on the move again. If it was right then, what makes it wrong now in the eyes of the APC faithful and core Buharists. |
sarrki:All this because Atiku left. Is there something in your nature that frowns at the liberty of others to pursue their desires. How can you maintain relationships if everyone around you is shackled to your views and ideals alone. It is a bad, toxic state of mind. When you see these things just move on. Haba. He came from somewhere and if that was right at that time, what makes it wrong now. Atiku may be an unprincipled politician not worthy of decent electoral votes but I simply cannot fault his personal desires. If he is desperate what do you call then candidate Buhari. |
Blue3k:The anarchy of an unworkable system. |
onegig:Don't mind them. Tunnel thinking. By what they say you'd think there was only one company in Nigeria. In parts of the east and south for example UNICEM outguns Dangote 3 to 1. If noodles and pasta donot add value to his brand and bottom line he has every business right to dump them to remain on course. Everyone does that whether a monopoly or not. I just prefer Dangote not for what products he offers but what atmosphere he creates. He has a track record of changing the narrative in business since he ventured into flour in the eighties, brought to a halt imported sugar and salt and improved the quality of and delivery of cement and clinker products. He will put an end to gasoline importation and can shake up the telecoms industry as an outsider coming in, not with excuses but with ideas just as Globacom did at startup. That is why I donot favour SMILE despite its industry head start. It will just continue the rot and for a 50:50 indigenous/foreign participation Dangote is the only one with the clout to wrestle the South Africans and Indians. |
I prefer the Dangote Group. First, indigenous. Second, he has become an international player and operates fluidly in the consumer goods sector. Most importantly he knows the values of business and will surely pursue aggressive growth strategies that will ultimately keep his competition and the industry on its toes. The sector will become as virile as an influenza outbreak. There's too much laxity in it and statemated skirmishes. No one has done anything big since 2002. Trust Dangote to ignite fierce competition. Globacom and Airtel should be barred naturally for anti-trust or competition reasons. We donot want an artificial monopoly created for no values whatsoever and both donot have the kind of desirable services for any right thinking person to support their bids. The bigger they get, the more sluggish they will become. We need a low level civil war in that industry. The others may just become like the power sector operators, unknown quatities before and proven invalids after. |
David160:For what reason pls. |
First and foremost, failed courtship. 2 years is not a deep enough foundation for 50 years of marraige. It is just enough time to summarise the important points of a relatiinship, not diagnose them indetail and bearable time for pretenses and glossing over issues. Shorter courtships favour the impatient, the fake and the vain. Having said that, you will need more than twice the time and twice the patience of a courtship to handle this situation. Since violence and infidelity are not involved, divorce is unnecessary. Be a man and begin to reconstruct the personality of your wife and pull back from the drive you have for your set objectives. Take a sabatical from your aspirations in life to work on her because life's journey CANNOT be handled singlehandedly. There is no vision that can be accomplished by a single person. This is the secret of the Trinity in Christianity (which you profess). Secondly, I am a bit concerned about 'spiritual consultations' here and there because of your inability to conceive. In most cases I have heard, IT DOES NOT END WELL and may lead yqou down routes that can severely restrict or damage you destiny (in God). Christianity as a faith is KNOWLEDGE based. Your task is simple. Just obtain information about what is happening to you (your family). Prayer is merely asking God to act on your discoveries spiritually. Thus if the information you gather requires medical treatment you donot urgently require prayers, you need a doctor. It is when the problems are BEYOND human intervention do you need to send the product back to the manufacturer (GOD) for repairs. God is your kindhearted Father. He does not place warranties on human beings. He will not be angry if you ask a doctor what the problem is. He will not deny you if you take medicines or have a surgery. He will rather be disappointed if you are not willing to set time to seek His Word concerning any matter before taking life changing actions. Beware of 'prophets' and 'pastors' who see this and that. It will not end well. |
There's nothing wrong with invasive intervention but for dignity and safety adequate protective measures should be taken and this can be as simple as placing a hankerchief over the mouth of the invalid or gloving the hand with a clean nylon wrap before examining orfices. Once again forthe dignity and safety of both parties involved in the intervention. HIV and other communicable diseases are real. |
So how come you have a house in Asokoro or can afford the rent for one as an ex-civil servant....abegi. There is no one who has touched government under this structure that is not a thief... past, present and to come. |
Certain she had been watching IDxtra. |
free2ryhme:That will not produce such an acoustic signature loud enough to be detected from afar except if it set off stored munitions. I hope it is not another hydrogen peroxide wahala such that sunk the Kursk.... because it likely to be a russian built boat. |
Hmmm.....Annul Pending Cases.... |
These are supposed to be independent institutions so a clash is not unexpected. I see nothing wrong with the EFCC and DSS standoff. It happens in most countries of the world. The heads of the DSS are not above the law. If they are accused of financial dealings they can be arrested by anti financial crime agents. I was watching the movie 'American Made' (which incidentally based in a true story). When Barry's grace had eventually run out he was accosted by no less than six to seven different law enforcement agencies all bearing warrants from different courts because he flouted local, state and federal laws in his escapades. The FBI, ATF, DEA, Sheriff's office, etc, were on hand despite the fact these are institutions of long standing tradition in a country that stands for the law. By the way the CIA, his defacto employer trashed all contacts they had and 'burned' him out of fear of the law. So thought post 911 there is greater cooperation amongst law enforcement agencies in the US as there should be in Nigeria with our insurgent, sectarian and militant challenges, this 'cooperation and coordination' is external, tailored towards common threats AND NOT internal as in 'padi-padiism. The law is the law and agents should not be breaking them. If the DSS men cannot be arrested for stealing billions, how can they be arrested for traffic violations.... how can they be arrested for stealing from you and me as well. So anyone supporting impunity is supporting wrong. Like Magu or not, the EFCC must do its job and can arrest anyone operating in Nigeria as long as it has a warrant. |
Small minded man. He should have gone to the military to have his feeble mind upgraded. I still have scars on my back and hands and still suffer pain in my right knee once a while from untreated cartilage damage back then... and I did my fair share of 'moulding' as well, sent a few to the infirmary, one with concussion.... all good. |
Adieza:Which one be hometown again. Not everyone has a 'villagerosis psyche' ....even God didn't give Israel oil but all her adversaries around her... There is a government in place there at all levels. So ask from Caeser what is Caeser's responsibilities. When your boss gives you resources to carry out certain responsibilities, take it to your village to build roads and see if yiu will not be sacked in the morning. |
From the frying pan to the kind of furnace used to melt titanium. Africa is the playground of the devil.....hopeless people. |
Poverty and hunger continue to debilitate the humanity of Nigerians as they resort to eating all manner of birds, reptiles and other wildlife. Who says the structural failures of this country has not set us back to the stone age. I won't be the least surprised if the next storyline reads, 'a Nigerian kills and eats a wooly mammoth'.... or a brontosaurus.... or bigfoot.... there is nothing called culinary shame in this country again. Can you imagine what someone is proud to say he eats....kai... |
I don't understand what all these racist arguments are about Lagos versus other parts of Nigeria. Lagos is today what Abuja will be tomorrow. Thanks to the unitary system of government 50 percent of revenues accrued to Nigeria asna whole was domicilled in Lagos over several decades till the nineties. The influx of people of various nationalities chasing after the national purse is what makes Lagos what it is. Tomorrow the Gbagi will also boast of a huge economy if by executive fiat the nations capital is moved somewhere else. Economies involve assets and these are often hard to relocate so the residual effects of massive investments in any location will continue to thrive if all the elements of production remain viable long after such investing has ceased. Lagos is feeding off Federal investment. To this end its economy owes it to all Nigerians. However it has successfully managed to grow beyond the investment cycle to become a powerhouse. On the racism thing my take is that. This is exactly what Donald Trump is trying to do. To reassert the superiority of the Caucasian race as those who own America because they stepped off the boat in NewYork first but the truth today is that America is what it is because of its diversity, because it can tap into a wealth of virtues found from across all parts of the world. Lagos is a similar scenario. It has a geographic identity, a commerce identity, a political identity, an industrial identity of completely dissimilar characteristics. It would be naive to think otherwise. |
franzis:Its called lay-back for safety and other reasons. |
olayinkajnr:Being the best brain does not qualify you for a political position such as the Vice Chancellor. Most eggheads are poor administrators and worse politicians. The eggs of politics are laid by vultures. |
EscobarSnipes:Hmm....tell me more...but on a cool note if this was Nigeria you'd have the IG of police washing his armoured personnel carriers everyday... |
Kenzico:If it will win a world cup then Gerhart Rohr had better wear banana leaves for our campaign in Russia..... for unimpeded access of course.... |
Typical talk that never gets people to succeed. Just like simpleton business proposals that tell you a chicken lays two eggs per day so in a year you should have 600 eggs in your kitty. Just like a lot of Pentecostal churches as well these days that preach only benefits not responsibilities, only what God can do not what man SHOULD DO. Back to topic. Yes, its good to know what you NEED to succeed but more importantly (the part they don't like to say) is who you need to be to succeed. This is character and is formed in the crucible of challenges that form part of life and living, its complexities, its intricacies and its uncertainties all rolled into a character building course you need to pass to reach your goals. I would rather value the chap who will tell me snakes eat eggs too and bird flu is real and poultry houses these days need more security than Aso rock, more luxury than Transcorp Hilton and more hygiene than an operating theatre. Yes, Jesus is Lord of all but He died on THE CROSS and if Satan could do that imagine what battles lie ahead of anyone towing that path and.... of course your 'motivator' may as well be the chap that will steal from you, intercept your dream and betray you to your competitors, having so much information about you. The power to overcome all these sob stories is what makes a man successful. It is not what is achieved, it is what is overcome. It is not offense alone that wins matches or contests but the ability to successfully defend and walk away. It is the last man standing that often wins. |
This man's mouth just runs like a bad Mexican soap...on and on and on... |
