harmless011:They won't hear. Always behind the curve. |
Masquerade7:You people have started again. 'do their worst abi'. |
marv1:I think they are saying that this government shows no sign of its ability to end it. That is what governments are elected to do, change things. The Jonathan government couldn't and it was removed. Why do you think Nigerians will begin to accept excuses now. All governments inherit supposedly bad situations. |
NgeneUkwenu:Okay, so if na oil price we suppose hope, then we go vote for oil price for 2019. So make dem register OPC. Oyel Price Congress....or even CPC....original one oh...Crude Price Congress.....even APC go work....Adulterated Petrol Confab.... |
zhyzhy:The government has boxed itself in and there are few moves left on the board. They can only sit back and wait patiently for him to drop the ball. Their failure to act over the years has eroded any chance of making this anything but a zero sum game. |
maursatt:Did he say he is preparing for war. Have you seen or heard him stockpiling arms or assaulting people like the northern fundamentalists or southern militants. If not where did you get your concept of war and who do you think will instigate or start it. Who has been doing the killing, assaults so far. Answer and let us start. |
Is this what we should be talking about as a nation or the important things that brought this government to power in the first place. If governance has been reduced to idol seeking pilgrimages to wherever then the believers and unbelievers of whatever death and ressurection are just as empty as each other. Can we go any lower than this as an unserious nation. This whole charade is getting hopelessly irritating. Those of us who've viewed the unending drama with much indifference now want to listen to another channel. Enough is enough abeg. Haba. |
TheGreatIYANU:I am sure they are thinking properly and in circumspection. The kind of thoughts that build civilisation that unfortunately is not present in these climes. Of course the short term, knee jerk reaction of passion, hopelessness and hate will breed such views you have but its not universal. And it's okay after all Europeans are amazed at America's lust for violence and Americans are pleased that those traits saved the world from facism, so.... |
LexngtonSteele:I think the psychology behind such acts is two fold: First to strip one literally of his or her dignity so that such a person becomes a recluse in society and cannot 'operate' in public anymore without some instant recognition and secondly, to terrorise other potential culprits to have rethink before they act bearing in mind the terrible consequences that await them if caught. But my view has always been that punishment that is excessive of the criminal act often leads to an escalation of the tendency to commit more crime be it in a civilised society such ad the States which regularly executes and barbaric societies like ours which go beyond that and totally dehumanize the culprit. I may be wrong but Europe which is one of the older civilisations had a history of this sort of barbarity but today crime rates are significantly low partly due to right punishment regimes of de-escalating violence and proper justice. We have a long way to go as a society. |
Hmmm, what will Minister Lai say about this..... foreign shoots are indirectly yielding foreign exchange.... Anything government puts its snout in turns to dust. |
You can imagine the stench. Thank goodness technology has not evolved to transmit the full senses over cyberspace. Lagos eh...kai.. no way. |
If it works why not. I can't see any other way forward than to de-escalate the situation. A naira spent on rehab is worth a thousand spent on war and against fundamentalism the force of arms alone has no victory. I'm in full support. |
Nothing wrong with that as long as safety protocols are observed. Even oil rigs have kitchens, flow stations have canteens and refineries have joints. Every gas station I know is close to something that it threatens. |
Yorubaangel:No, no, no. We don't want a misfiring network abeg. Can't have all comers in this boat like GLO and capsize it. |
adelacuna:Yes, let him incite anger. What are you afraid of. Yes, I know. A non performing government that has hitherto been praised to high heavens but whose failings are exposed by nature. Was hurricane Catrina not a natural disaster but elicited widespread anger when it was not handled properly by authorities but typical Nigerians will rather hide their foibles and sell their conscience for a plate of porraige in defending their masters. |
agabusta:He and other APC stalwarts started it a few years ago, fake news, propaganda, hate speech. That it has been upgraded like my Android devices frequently demand is no surprise except to you folks who think that success will not be copied. Just strap in and brave yourself. This is democracy and evey sinew and tendon of society will be given a thorough workout. |
agabusta:Double post. |
Amongst the attributes that impressed God about King Solomon after his life changing sacrifice was that: 'he did not ask for the heads of his enemies'. So he was accorded wisdom instead 'to handle them'. What it tells me about these things is that the level of relationship you have with God accords you certain privileges not generally available amongst which is sure victories over all adversities. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness (another title of Jesus) and ALL these things including dominion will be given freely. God himself will fight for you and you will hold your peace. It is babies that cry. Adults discuss. And it is to them wisdom is given to rule and reign. A lot of Christians these days are too busy on the wrong things and fail to recognise the reason for their existence which is to pleasure the Lord. I have no time to pray those kind of prayers when there are important things to discuss with God. What are His Angels for. |
So many angles to this sad tale but I just want to pick on one. Material things, riches, property, assets are nothing more than the reward for the greater value of a man/woman and not the totality of his or her wealth. A truly wealthy person CANNOT be run down by the loss of material things as long as the inherent value that creates them remains intact in the mind and soul. That is why I advice people, seek after values not rewards. Nigeria is a desperately poor country today despite all its naturally bestowed riches because it lacks values. If the lady can identify the values that took her to the prior level and reconstruct them, the space between her present predicament and a better future is only a matter of time. I am a living example of that having had to reboot not once, not twice but a third time. When we pass through certain things it changes our prespective about life and people. Never place material things above values. Hope this experience will make her stronger because it is not over. Her success journey if handled well has just begun and she can grow to be an inspiration to others in future. |
Ajibel:I don't know of one sane, decent person who can 'like' a place like Lagos. Most people I know just tolerate the place, the same way a sick person tolerates medication but to like Lagos.... you must be nuts. Even the Federal government with all its might and resources fled the place in 86. I followed shortly after and haven't looked back since. |
olaboy1:Mega city or mega septic tank...yuck. The stench must be maddening. Very soon that city will become like Venice and the inevitable hybrid between molues and gondolas called mongols. You guys should flee that city before an epidemic breaks out. Water wells and boreholes will be teeming with every bacteria known to mankind. |
Women are created to add value to men of purpose. Investigate, educate yourself in that, apply it rigorously and you will be inseparable. |
Felons everywhere you go. |
Blue3k:Just an irreponsible, weak willed, lazy society that cannot turn to wipe its a.rse. They wait for their oppressors to have mercy and spare them some crumbs instead of fixing things for themselves. Yes, we have deep ethno-religious chasms and fault lines. But isn't this a unique opportunity to bridge them and change the identity of the average Nigerian. Can't decentralised policing be an agent for trust building. |
Makka7:How can you fear, 'the corrupt politician' You yes YOU elect into office and empower to rule. So you see the problem fundamentally is you who is too naive and to weak to create the society you cry for. The people of Kogi just shook a branch of the tree and see how their senator runs from pillar to post. What stops you from demanding that the police be accountable to you and not to the politician. If the people of that Kogi senatorial zone could initiate a recall, you can imagine what they will do to the head of police they appoint or elect if he or she messes up. Can the people of that constituency or senatorial zone checkmate the IG in Abuja for a local infraction, no. They will have layer upon layer of red tape to overcome and will never have the numbers to do that. But the IG can give an order in Abuja and have them all rounded up and shot and nothing will happen because he is not answerable to them. Wisdom in democracy entails that the citizens seek to MINIMIZE the powers of those they give authority and MAXIMISE their own leverage over them. Nigerians on the other hand empower people thay have no idea and no hope of CONTROLLING. Give them so much power and only HOPE it turns out well. Is there anythung more stupid than that in all creation. Can you employ a driver, cook or cleaner and give him ultimate power over you. Nigerians are so dumb so their leaders will readily use scare tactics to subjugate them while they suffer endlessly. |
triplec93:And the present arrangement is what....heaven on earth abi. Just being dishonest to yourself. When I hear people like this I begin to imagine a mindset attuned to failure...suffering....mediocrity. I apologise but I cannot imagine another reason for a society to live this way and not actively seek ways to change for the better. Even if you are dead cold in fear, just try something different. Haba. Can't you simply imagine for a minute that this country can be better. What is wrong with you people sef. I can understand those that benefit directly from the status quo in cash and kind but not the general citizenry. |
Coyotejack:Rivers though....?*×^/$ ??....RIP |
Yes Mr status quo. We know which rock they carved you from. Of course you need more money and more power. |
There is a reason why in the developed world electrical power it transmitted underground. Nigerians, there you have it. Our sophistication does not extend beyond Gucci and Mercedes Benz. When it comes to the society at large we remain hopelessly pre-historic. To say primitive will be an insult to the hardworking cavemen who hunted dinosaurs for a living |
Still the best. Had to reboot some devices this morning and switched to Glo momentarily. After five minutes Glo folded...as usual. There just isn't a better alternative out there. Call them whatever you want. They remain the most stable network. |
Kleptomaniac par excellence. What's next. She's bought the Taj Mahal. Nothing surprises me anymore. |
