benikad:There is a mystery to this. And wisdom says it may not apply to everyone at any time. Be careful with this. |
Everything relating to transformation in Nigeria is stomach infrastructure |
Apart from being a native of Bornu State and coming from the epicentre of the insurgency, what other criteria was used in his appointment in the first place. The thinking in government strategic circles is that he will be motivated because of his home', the same motivation tne insurgents have for attacking it. Governments have never had ideas, always acted sentimentally and continue to play the ethnic card. Corruption is not the biggest problem we have in Nigeria, structure is. We are just wasting our time. |
See why go-slow and bad roads is a good thing in Nigeria. |
His anti-corruption stand is now an albatross around his neck. Where do you find ranking members of the APC or amongst the so called league of technocrats without one issue or the other, the opposition is just waiting to report on. Unfortunately the typical investor from China, Brazil or Iceland is not going to keep his cash on the floor waiting for months for you to sort out. He has to make money for himself and his clients and is certainly not bound by the 'Osun' sentiments of work without pay. He will just find somewhere else to place his goods for sale. If Buhari thinks corruption is the one and only problem besetting Nigeria, both he and us are in for it. He certainly has not learnt much from his 80's misadventure. |
These Eagles are smoking hot. |
My goodness, what a goal. |
I've not seen a Nigerian team play so well lately. This team is all action, typical of a Siasia team. Wish them the best. |
So all the images of wealth are just smoke and mirrors. The so called entertainment industry is as false as the informatiin posted about them on this forum. Abeg, no more front pages for these fraudsters. And to think that some folks consider them role models. What is a better image and a more persuasive role than the ability to rise to these types of occasions. But if it is to take pictures with security men escorting them to their villages, the forum and her starry eyed kids will be all over it. Nonsense people. |
philips70:Oga. They are still stealing as we speak. Yes, as we speak. And it will continue after the holidays. You need to get closer to the corridors of power. For some actors, nothing has fundamentally changed. |
francizy:Equipping them with what. So every policeman and woman should join the bomb squad, carry a rifle and flak jacket or a bomb detector. These are ordinary beat cops and have been instructed to conduct spot checks, that's all. Security involves overlapping layers of specialties. Where one group misses or overlooks something the others may not. Typpically who will suspect a child but these ladies HAVE DECIDED it is worth searching and we must not downplay or make light of potentially life saving measures. It is just the times we live in. There will be plain clothes officers intermingling amongst the crowd. Should these be 'equipped' as well. I drove past the Eid prayer ground along airport road, Abuja about 9 in the morning yesterday and you could see various service arms, various branches of the police - mounted, bomb squad, rapid response all around the ground and in traffic. They all have their roles and were eqiupped accordingly. |
Aitee1:Russian made T55 tank. |
And now, I hope the authorities MAKE SURE repairs are done PROPERLY and in line with best practices because that is where the problem STARTS. If they rely on the airlines then they should expect more unfortunate news down the line. The good news is that it has not been covered up. At least we know the airline involved and perhaps the aircraft in question, so each customer can take a personal decision on whether it is worth the risk. |
Chibaby87:'....cos someone can't carry her baby for 9 good months and have the mind to stab him...'. Now your eye don clear and your earlier views are proven false. Yes, a mother, a woman, a female is capable of evil. Have this in mind so that you will not fall victim, be caught unawares or subsidize the female psyche. Many have handled women wrongly and paid for it. Treat women with the equality society strives to attain. |
cherylsmith:That is all you can say. If it is perpetuated buy a man you will not only read all but summarise and write a legal epistle. Better read it all and see that violence has no sexual orientation. Men and women are EQUAĹLY capable of the most horrendous acts. |
What are you probing. Is the parallel market not a free market anymore. Can you control corruption, the unpatriotic attitude of Nigerians in believing everything foreign, the government system of allocation (free money), the mono export economic model we operate as lazy Nigerians. If you cannot control these, forget about any probe. |
They are not adopting the right strategy. They are just wasting their time. Typical of government. Reactionary. |
Those ground staff at MM2 are very poor and if proven they are the cause the owners of the airlines should seek compensation from FAAN because repairs to aircraft are notoriously expensive not to talk of revenue losses. Just stand at the concourse and observe how they behave when aircraft come in, very unprofessional and it is not surprising some pilots just ignore them, dangerous though. |
Stay in what. The question you shoukd ask is, will he survive the trauma. If he does he should run for his life. Once again, where are those women libertarians who say violence is the exclusive preserve of men. What do you have to say. |
Expendables 4. Washed up stars. |
Vanquay16:Fine. Buy local.!!!!! |
Vanquay16:See the people depressing the naira. What is this for. How does this help Nigeria, explain. |
Yhunoos:For your own good better stop chasing after individuals and focus on the institutions they are part of. These new service chiefs are not from Sweden or Venezuela. They were very senior officers in the same military that has failed and prevailed in this unfortunate war. If the institution has challenges, leadership will be just one of, not the totality of the solution. I said it months ago when a lot of noise was made about the change of government when the thinking then was that Buhari only needed to be sworn in and Boko Haram will flee with their tails between their legs. We have subsequently seen that it is not so. Leadership is highly overated. I will rather wager on the health of institutions as an indicator of when this whole saga will end. |
ogene70:Hahaha. That's the spirit. And its time for you noisy 'diasporians' to put your money where your loud mouths are. What more can you ask for, new and 'competent' government, weak naira making your peanuts attractive to the investment gorillas here in naija. So lets see the hospitals, housing, industries and the other stuff you guys endlessly moan about. |
barcanista:Not absolutely so. There will still be that gap because there is no such thing as an absolutely import dependent economy. We have several factors and assets of production domiciled here, and anyway inflation is not instantaneous, more like creep. |
All that grammar and he uses 'have' instead of 'has'. Says a lot about his mindset. |
The Executive will just be tying themselves in knots. To govern effectively you need the House, pure and simple. Whoever advises Buhari had better not set him up for a fall. Even the almighty OBJ tried to usurp the House several times, he lost. Their work is not just oversite. They are the crucible of laws and without laws a government simply cannot operate. |
They need financial rehabilitation after years in opposition. Says so much about what their leaders are thinking. More reasons why I say corruption can never end. Just wasting our time. |
I don't know why anyone will want to make a meal out of this. Personally I will not use the word sack as it would connote some sort of malady. It is the normal change expected of a new government particularly one of different political ideology. Ambassadorial appointments are well known worldwide to be a safe 'reward system' for the party faithfuls and for the Buhari led APC government this is critical in keeping the loyalists happy but away from the more sensitive and critical national appointments such as ministers and heads of commissions and agencies. If you give your party trouble and embarassment or your appeal is waning but they can't afford to lose you, then you go on exile....sorry to an ambassadorial posting. |
So where is all the massive taxation going. Where is the collosal IGR they boast about going, to pay salaries, rent seekers, black ops and phantom contractors. Mark you a good chunk of government revenue comes from land processing fees and ground rents. Just trading in what God has freely given us all and reaping where they did not sow. |
gensteejay:Surely his english teacher must be amongst them. |
