When you think back to the Federal Government v Lagos State Local Government matters of the Obasanjo era. When you think about the Federal Government v Rivers State Government of the Jonathan era on so many matters you'd realise the precedents that have been set in the way the country is run. Shey the basis of law is universally acceptable precedents. So no complaints, now and in the future.

And what has happened to Dantata and Sawoe, nothing. They are as free as the air to bribe more government officials when their principals should equally be in the dock and the Company blacklisted and heavily fined as is done in decent societies. Any anti-corruption drive that is partial and does not involve ALL parties to the crime is a waste of time and cannot reform society.

Then one fateful day came Jesus to make Christians of Jews, Gentiles and hopefully muslims too so that the killing and destruction may end. Only Jesus can transform a man, a thought, an ideology and a religion. Yes our forefathers of faith did those things but those were the days of ignorance, darkness. Now we have seen the light. Muslims need the light too. Peace.

Its just a gamble. No more. It may work out, it may not. I will tell you what is not a gamble but a certainty.

Jose Mourinho's returning to improved Chelsea, Rafa Benitez not moving Real Madrid forward. These were two appointments but with obvious outcomes. Our own is just 50-50. Everyone is just hoping. We are just desperate.

Theoretical or practical experience? Because coaching a division 2 team is hardly the pedigree required. This is just russian roulette to me. My concern is the timing. We have just started the qualifying round and require early points. What if it doesn't work out, we miss qualification two tourneys in a row....

If I were the NFF I will start him (and all coaches) on probation, conditional to a full contract involving at least two friendlies supervised by a technical study group of emminent international coaches to see how he sets out his stalls and perhaps make adjustments to accomodate his philosophy.

They are just pushing the poor chap into the deep end at a bad time. Desperation. You seldom make good choices when you are desperate.

Not too long ago we had a screening process involving a pre-selected number of potentials, say 3 or 4 coaches. No more. Only the heavens know what criteria they used in appointing Oliseh. At least that should be made public.

He has been sentenced to death so he might just as well continue. The fatwa (if you call it that) is for the act not his profession so even if he renounces his trade and composes love songs to the sect the deed has been done, they are angry and he is done.

I always tell you, win or lose in democracy is not about good governance but the intrinsic feelings of a people towards a particular leader. Democracy is about the people not about the government. The people have a right to sacrifice their ideals and comforts in making choices. Like when entering into a fast. They can decide to wait in anticipation of some other benefit and there is nothing wrong with that. Don't assume democracy is about having el-dorado here and now.

Well thanks to the confession of the hoodlums we now know that the 'sophisticated weaponry' deployed consisted of just 8 rifles and a shot-gun. And to think that the lone shot-gun (maximum 8 catridges in line) was deployed outside to keep the might of the Nigerian Police at bay, quaking in their boots for two hours....nuff said. Let me hear 'sophisticated weapons' again.

Politics › Re: Military Generals Are Hiding Away In Yola, Deceiving The President - Idris Ahmed by Reference(m): 9:09am On Jul 07, 2015
dayo23:
Your Excellency,

During your inauguration ceremony on 29th May 2015, as the new Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, you gave a Presidential order to the military to move the Command and Control Centre of the fight against Boko Haram to Maiduguri, so that the war is effectively fought. Most Nigerians and our well wishers around the world lauded this bold strategic move on your part.

It is now 38 days since you gave the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Sabundu Badeh, and the military generals this Presidential order to move to Maiduguri. Unfortunately, CUPS can reliably inform you that the Boko Haram generals are no where near Maiduguri. In fact they are 405 kilometres away, chilling out at a Mansion, adjacent to DSS office, in Dougirei, Jimeta Yola, Adamawa state.
This hideaway mansion is hired by CDS Alex Badeh himself. We know the owner of this mansion very well. We have spoken to him.

Your excellency, the same mobile phone apprehension equipment that was used by the former DG DSS, Ita Ekpenyong, to hack into your mobiles phones can effectively be used to track down the movement of these treacherous military generals. Ask the new DG DSS to track their movements. You will find out that they are in Yola all the times at this mansion.

Your Excellency, CUPS is reliably informed that there is no any Command and Control of fight against Boko Haram that is going on from this hideous hideaway mansion. It is just being used by Badeh and his fellow generals for partying, sex, and drinking 24/7. Of course there is a constant supply of the finest food, wine, and women, all at the expense of the Nigerian tax payers.

While the CDS and his fellow generals are partying to glory, we ordinary Nigerians have recently noticed a deterioration in security, which should never have happened. Just yesterday alone there were three deadly bomb blasts that resulted in loss of human life. One blast happened at the Redeem Church in Potiskum. Another happened at Shagalinku Restaurant in Jos. The last blast was at a popular Masjid called Yan Taya in Jos.

Your Excellency, these Boko Haram generals must go with immediate effect. There is no value whatsoever in retaining them.

May God save Nigeria and Nigerians. Amen.

Dr. Idris Ahmed.

Rubbish, nonsense post. You expect the Command Centre to be placed at the front lines to prove what point. Is the Military comprised of only Alex Badeh and the Service Chiefs. If you have an axe to grind with the man contact him for an audience but the interference in military operations and the campaign of calumny is becoming dangerous. You undermine the military at your peril. This is an insurgency, the population is better placed to fight it. In war the jungle either fights for or against you. The people should fight for not against the military.

akpumping7720:
Yea... Late Steve Job of Apple also suffer similar fate at Apple Inc. But that is business and this is politics. @OP the reason(s) u stated there are not cogent enough as to why Tinubu is been attacked left and right. These are my reasons:
. The Easterners attack tinubu out of jealousy and they believe he is holding power longer and they don't have someone like Jagaban from their Region. And most especially his role in ousting GEJ. They so much hate Tinubu and whosoever aligns with him. And they continue to see the Southwesterners as slave. Yorubas aren't slave to anybody just that Yorubas are humble people who doesn't disrespect elders. The igbos are supposed to be the most influential of all tribes in Nigeria both locally and internationally because they are INDUSTRIOUS and CREATIVE but until they need to do away with 'PRIDE'. Cos yoruba has a proverb that 'if a Giant should bow for a Dwarf, it doesn't mean that after standing upright that the Giant will become short'.
The Northerners attack Tinubu because of their own personal ambition or agenda. They believe if they clip him politically they can rule the country come 2019 (Atiku, Kwakwanso and Tambuwal comes to mind) and they can control the present government if they can hijack the National Assembly; we can see such evident when Dino melaye is accusing Jagaban of sponsoring one Smart Adeyemi against him. Who is Melaye to counter Jagaban. Can Melaye even stand one on one with Fashola or ordinary Kayode Opeifa or GOS or YAYI not to talk of Jagaban. Just because Melaye is now aligning himself with Saraki.
But my believe is this. If you want to MOVE FORWARD or PROGRESS in life; You have to be HUMBLE and DO AWAY WITH PRIDE AND BE READY TO TAKE SHIT WHEN IT COMES. Even the bible says that 'Pride goeth befall a fall'.
On the one hand, 'yorubas are humble', bla, bla, bla, then a few lines later, 'who is Melaye....he cannot stand before,'....bla, bla, bla. What do you call this. Is this not the attitude that is polarizing your party. Are you not spoiling for a fight with this constant stream of bragadoo. Is this how to unify and build a political movement.

I don't think you have woken to the reality of what the APC is. It is no more a regional player, it is a mix, a hybrid, an alloy of regional powers the likes of which dilute the qualities of the individual constituents. You cannot expect Tinubu to wield the same powers as he did in the West. Who will join the party for fun or to become a slave to him. C'mon its politics. If you add salt to soup won't you taste other ingridients as well. Is it only salt you will be tasting.

Better play the game well and be truly humble. The way you guys are going you risk upsetting anyone north of Osogbo. The core north no send. They can re-align their political interests to the middle-belt or South leaving the West out cold. It is good to know one's worth but it is dangerous to overplay one's hand. It is so, so easy in Nigerian politics to start well and finish badly. You guys should watch it.

I am so disappointed but not surprised. Under the laws of power such mistakes are inevitable. All I can see is the PDP everywhere and I recall a few months ago the ruling party blamed the then opposition APC for every evil befalling it. Surely these are signs of desperation. For all the competencies Asiwaju has displayed over the years, this is a pronounced let down.

But, why is the PDP whinning about this. History tells us that they hounded Tambuwal until he left. Do they expect the majority APC to say and do nothing?

Wonder, but he's right. Written and spoken english has gone to the dogs. Excuses aplenty. 'Its not our mother tongue'. But it is definitely a product of laziness and the dying book culture. I grew up with books and my dad had several magazine subscriptions of which 'Reader's Digest' was one of my favourites. English came naturally to me.

I think if we spend more on paper than megabytes we may begin to lower that 90 percentile.
