INTROVERT:It is becoming harder to ignore the 300 pound Bengal tiger in the room. I'm here to read comments too. Hmmm....structure.... |
Then why retire them in the first place. What is going on in this country. Is there anyone, just anyone, that knows what to do. |
On second thoughts. The man hid in an abandoned building. Took a shot of sniper....hmmm....perhaps....he actually thought the sniper will enable him ambush the cultist wife pirate. Unfortunately it only works that way in the movies. |
Strange tale. Even the police spokesman name sounds so fictional. So Hollywoody. |
VickyRotex:Lucky you. My mum would do six hours straight on weekends and if you're unfortunate to tag along you will return home with a migrane and serious muscle ache having clocked several kilometres of trekking. And if it is the day she is doing her hair also then you're done. Na heat stroke go nearly kill you for moto. |
MrsPhyno:I see. But you have to admit that going fishing with her son is the last thing a woman will be found doing. If the post had said 'preaching to the boy before the telly on the virtues of Telemundo' then you may gain traction. Sorry, women don't go fishing with their sons. |
obailala:Ask Sijuwade. He's still in office I presume. But I'm certain the response you will get is simple, the same reason you find more second-hand cars, planes and ships transporting us and our goods up and down Nigeria every day, economics. The OBJ plan may be lofty but how realistic and attainable. You yourself attest to the fact that OBJ in 8 years could only deliver 200+ kilometers of 'world class' rail line. So what do you expect in 6 years 150km? And where will 400km of national rail line do? Nothing. Is it not better to renovate the existing akpu line, get it to work first before seeking caviar to eat. Is it the train you want or the service. Look my friend, development is about incremental improvements not Sunday afternoon supermarket wishlists. No government has the time or the resources to turn Lagos to London or Daura to Dubai. All what we should seek is consistency, sincerity of purpose and hardwork. OBJ started some, completed some. GEJ started some, completed some. If PMB decides to abandon all, starts all and completes none he will be adjudged a failure. No sentiments. |
Originalsly:Ewwwuuuh! So gross. The mumified corpse of King Tut may be a better source of protein. |
obailala:Like the Ajaokuta Warri rail line. Find out exactly when work commenced and the timeline to its completion if at all it is actually finished because contract was first awarded by the Babangida regime in 1986 and only the main section had been completed by last year. Technically it is still an abandoned project, not complete. |
Genius100:If your food takes 8 years to be cooked and served you better put it in the dustbin. Even the space craft that just flew by Pluto didn't take that long. |
We haven't heard from him for a while but now that he's been given immunity his head has now grown horns, his fingers, claws and his hairs, feathers. OBJ, your are right. We should have bullet trains by now. We are a very unlucky country. |
Hmmm....from Barack with luuuvvvv..... Seriously when will Anderson Cooper and the CNN Freedom Project highlight Nigeria's slave trade. |
FearGodinall:The anti-corruption war is dead in the water. What is the difference between this and what OBJ/Ribadu was doing. And what was the outcome. Worse corruption because those who were left off the hook developed a sense of invincibility and a higher level of impunity. I said it from the outset that politics being a game of numbers will change whatever ideology any single individual has. Buhari will have to get into the mud to gain traction. I just pity those who staked all on the tall dream that you can make apple pie with these oranges. Until this country is restructured Buhari, Gambari and Falana are just wasting their time. |
BabaO2:And that is why Buhari will not make any impact whatsoever. You will see how it plays out. You've heard it from Falana. There is no statute of limitations on corruption. |
drey076:Country as how. Does your driver or househelp do that to you in the public. If you want to be an activist, self employment is your destiny. What about those bankers marching to hell, feigning ignorance that their money laundering services to criminals and political deviants is, just a job. My friend employment is passive slavery. |
There is nothing that can be done about and against corruption. It is a structural problem. We can already see that the current war has failed, loaded down with sentiment because it is sectional, non universal and non equitable. Once you ask the lady to remove her blindfolds and you begin to load the scales the whole system falls apart. My two cents is that Buhari will eventually throw in the towel and blame 'the system'. And he will be absolutely right. The problem is he should be fixing the system first. NB. The white flag was officially raised when PMB raised a unilateral statute of limitation and shot himself in the foot. |
Hmmm. How can he bite the finger that feeds him when he knows the station was established to protect the interests of its principal, Mr Bonaventure. You can imagine if Seun joins politics what will happen to most folks here. |
winetapper:Yep. They actually fly two identical limos ahead aboard a C5-Galaxy together with a couple of humvees and other support equipment everywhere the President travels, everywhere. The U.S. President is expressly forbidden to use any civilian transport while in office. However there might be a couple of exceptions such as a State visit to the UK where the Queen provides a horse drawn carraige for her host to Bukingham palace. |
Empero1:They are doing 'party supremacy' stuff. Has nothing to do with the House. After 16 long years of democracy few folks can actually draw the line between governance and politics. |
EggovinMma:Opposite. They are essentially fibre and contain enough water to grease your exhaust pipe. Go for the unwashed ones and take them completely raw for jet propulsion. |
Raymondluv:Big time. Refined flour is like gun powder to Boko Haram. |
EggovinMma:Cut down the junk. Those pastries you enjoy chomping will turn your system to the inside of an old concrete mixer. |
She should recover quickly and return to answer the mountain of questions awaiting her. And the talk about her phone infecting her is the lousiest excuse I've ever heard. These people never fail to confound....and insult our sensibilities. |
No one is talking about what is happening in government circles anymore. Even at the highest levels of intellect, it is just attack and defence while the ship drifts wherever the wind blows. |
Consolidation Group, Loyalist Group. Me too wan form my own, Apocalypse Group. So.... |
Symphony007:Hmm. The man Amaechi is a serious albatross around Buhari's neck. I just don't know how Buhari will square the circle. Send his name to Senate and they will eat him alive there. Buhari will have to eat some humble pie on Amaechi's behalf. |
kokoA:Exactly. GEJ never took the establishment to task on any matter. He allowed the place to decay. I tell you that place is full of 'petitions' dating even before its establishment. The question is, who is the super-mod, (apologies Seun) who decides what case is given priority and pushed to the front page. It was OBJ in the first government, Yaradua and Goodluck did virtually nothing, now it is back in the hands of politicians once again with GMB toying with it as he pleases, setting criteria for it wily-nily, selective anti corruption battles. The risk here is that his enemies will be more that ever determined to produce evidence against his (GMB's) associates to prove a point and test for a reaction. Already there are reports that a couple of his pre-selected candidates are being 'taken out' by their hitherto hidden pasts. Interesting times ahead. |
henchamb:Oga. There are tons of petitions against past and present, sitting and retired politicians. Who decides which should be followed up and which should be left alone. Even the Saraki himself will have petitions against him. Why not pursue those. Answer, simple. They want to intimidate him, cower him, punish him and turn him into a lame dog legislator. Why didn't they see his wife's case and quietly ask him not contest the senate seat. Was there no screening again for APC candidates as was widely heralded then. And finally Buhari was speaking of a five year statute of limitation on corruption to cover only the GEJ administration. This petition was five years in the making so is it above or below his bonanza mark. If you can't see that this is politically motivated then you are as insincere as OBJ that did his graft war selectively and we all know how it ended, fractures and defections. Better advice your party to be fair and equitable and stop serving the interests of a handful of strong men. |
Beremx:The report doesn't exonerate the APC leadership. The EFCC is chock-a-block with petitions (even against Tinubu himself) but it is up to political leadership to decide which is taken up and 'sponsored to task'. |
Opinedecandid:Even my pet parrot will deduce that the EFCC archives are being opened selectively depending on which side of the party bigwigs and the president you stand. If the EFCC continues to be a tool of the powers that be right from OBJ through GEJ and now GMB then it cannot be refered to as an institution and cannot be taken serious. Let us ask ourselves this: If the President alone decides who, when and what time scale is used as a criteria for investigating financial crimes, it means it is he who owns the EFCC not Nigeria. And if he owns it, it means he can operate above its powers, it can't touch him. Once again we place individuals above institutions, ensure they are not fair and just and set the stage for the kind of impunity we may see down the line when those in office presently are no longer in power. |
Rhea:How can you steal what belongs to you. Which planet are you on. |

if they agree with her price, she'll price it lesser, and when those people say they can't sell it like that, she'll say she's just joking.
