TeamSimple:Then what has 'changed if everything remains the same. |
warrior01:The gravy train has not led to Abuja afterall. Oil prices hitting everyone. |
agarawu23:Just listen to yourself. You pray the APC shouldn't lose Osun State meaning the governor should continue. Are the failings in that State not some of the reasons the former government at the centre was removed. You know this further confirms to me that good governance IS NOT the prime reason for governments to rise and fall and it certainly is not a universal ideal amongst Nigerians. |
luvmijeje:Are you serious. If he leaves and takes his group with him the APC will become a nominal minority party. The problem with the APC is the lack of leadership. Most of its members are more concerned about power and the trappings of office rather than on building the party structure. The stench of greed in its ranks is becoming repulsive to well-meaning people. I predicted a split party a year and a half to elections in 2019. The seeds are germinating. Today it is between those in government offices and those in party offices. As the party people seek alternative candidates, the government people will seek alternative platforms. NewAPC loading.... |
stinggy:At the end of the day democracy is all about the peoples choice. If poor quality leaders are elected then the judgement of the people must be called to question. No complaints. All I see is poor quality followership. Ignorant people driven more by rhetoric than by research. Is it not the same mouth he campaigned with to the admiration of the people. |
ki02020:When I say the faulty structure of Nigeria is the one and only, front and centre problem bedevilling this country. You guys say it is corruption. Okay, we have a corruption czar in the highest office, let's see. The structural imbalances will not put the right people in charge but rather seek to 'compensate' them i.e.' buy out' their conscience and competencies, the very foundation of corruption. |
Olanireti:Who is the 'we'. Just say 'I'. Me, I was catching up with my long movie backlog during elections. |
tucky200:Hmmm....Don Corleone things... |
writetopoker:Hahahaha. Na your leaders you dey call hoodlums. Chai APC delaminating faster than Chinese fiberglass....what is that my line again...okay...'the best days of the APC are long gone'. |
Masculity:Sorry, but Resident doctors are on strike. |
room089:Yes. |
Tick-tock, tick-tock and the clock says the seconds turn into minutes, the minutes into hours, hours into days into weeks and in a short while the first mjilestone - 30 days in office then the next - 100 days in office, then a year, then its time for change again....tick-tock, tick-tock.... |
googlepikin:Hmmm....me too. I miss the pre-election banter. A good number of those guys have simply vanished. Don't blame them though. Its been one sitcom episode after another. Enough to keep one indoors on pringles and diet coke. |
ndcide:That is the only way they can hang onto the all powerful President, the price for all the hero worship and pre-election rhetoric. They now all appear as bugs before an elephant so they need all the power they need because they are not certain in whose bed Saraki plans to spend his lonely nights. |
oloyedayo:That is why Nigeria is the way it is. To you good governance is all about roads, power, education, to others it means different things. This lack of a synergy in ideals (of course exploited by the ruling class) is why governance is hard and development a mirage. The fact of the matter is that a mosque is what members of that constituency wants and by democratic standards that is what they should get. That is freedom of choice. If the people want ramadan subsidies he (El-Rufai) will have to provide it. My guess is that we have not heard the last of this matter. |
No love for God. Stop loving the world. You go visit someone you love dearly and the person is talking and you are sleeping off. Re-evaluate your relationship with people and things. You're too much into the world. |
piicity:You are seeing the product just that you don't want to or can't acknowledge it. If certain things are constant over time then check for a common denominator. |
krattoss:You cannot express anything. You just shut up and play. The Federation is absolutely right on this one. |
hansad:The government continues to make the same mistakes over and over and over again. What should ordinarily be a criminal incident has been turned to a military operation. What should ordinarily require investigations and arrests is being turned to 'war'. This is how Boko Haram turned from a local activism to political criminality to full blown insurgency. The state out of its sheer ignorance and incompetence is want to escalating incidents the same way a baby violently destroys a toy it cannot handle. People might point to the terrible violence perpetuated and the competencies in equipment and tactics display as justification for military action 'to match' them but this was the very reason the Mobile Police force was created. If their competencies have diminished over time or those of criminals have improved then they should be re-trained and re-tooled to handle matters of criminality. Preceeding the North Hollywood shoot-out the military didn't take over California and bomb downtown Hollywood or even set up road blocks. They simply changed their weapons and tactics. Those criminals were 'taken out' by SWAT. Our equivalent here is MOPOL. What are they doing. Escorting politicians and guarding eateries. Very soon the military will follow suit. Eroded and corroded by watching its core purpose shift. Those criminals that attacked the station were not warring against the state, their ideology is theft for monetary gain. If we prove to them that it requires the state to contend with them, they will take on the state as well. Nigeria must get it right. |
doctokwus:Mob justice is the product of frustrations arising from the inability of the common man to get justice against the very untouchables. So they typically overreact against those they can reach. The only way to stop mob justice is to have universal justice. But our institutions are too weak presently to ensure this. Stop personalising and start institutionalising. Enough of Buhari, Saraki, Tinubu, Let us begin to speak and discourse about the Executive, the Legislature, the Judiciary, the Police, state of social justice, etc. |
bushdoc9919:Clean energy indeed. Have they told you what happens to all the spent fuel rods. Hope you know they will remain catastrophically hazardous for upwards of 10,000 years. Maybe they hope to store them deep under Aso Rock. Any slip up will make the environmental degradation of the Niger-Delta look like a tea party. |
Mamaflex:Hmmm....BMW Design Team will be coming to Ota. 2018 front grill architecture. |
As long as that criminal organisation called the NNPC remains in charge any move will end badly. Government has no business in business. No more money should be put into failed organizations. Allow them to collapse. The PHCN is a living...sorry, dead example. |
temitemi1:No, I think it is taking your government to task which other states' workers have failed to do. To be candid Osun state is further near the end of this crises than its more docile, in-denial counterparts. |
Saraki does not need to reconcile anything with Buhari. The institutions they head are equally important, powerful and independent. One is not subservient to the other. It is in our overall interest that they sit at cross purposes. |
Abugab:But it is the same youth who voted massively to get him into power. Will you say they acted in ignorance then, perhaps acting under the influence of a new wine called 'hype' (in this season of beverages). Don't worry, they will mature all round, improve their english but also take their social studies, government and history lessons more seriously so that come 2019 or whatever, when a certain Kwankwaso, Fashola, Atiku, Saraki, Rochas vies for office, they will believe less the hype and look more for the substance because they are better educated. The greater the challenges, the steeper the learning curve and the faster the development. No one is to blame. We are all improving. Hopefully in decades to come we will not have to contend with an 'inexperienced' GEJ or an 'aged' GMB. |
Built2last:My friend it is not easy. Any hasty decisions can destabilize the economy. Take over should systematic and well thought through. Corruption as the national malaise is overrated. |
rabimlomo:Hmm. You used it to pursue bushmeat, now bushmeat is pursuing you with it. |
Themaingate:Hmmm. Investment? |
Or the reactor malfunctions and the ogas at the top are busy having APC/PDP c.ockfights while the ground turns to jello....naaa, not for me. |
Hmmm. Before you know it some stubborn fulani herder will drive his cows into the plant and melt down the reactor. Before we know it we will be chomping pre-cooked kebabs....naaa, not for me. |
Very nice. Lets say 500 x 5 = 2,500 people consume 2.5% of all the oil, taxes, duties, revenue plus loans of the Federal Government. Which means by rudimentary arithmentic the entire budget should go to 100,000 people, out of 170million. If 169.9million people feed, clothe, transport, power and secure themselves abeg what is the use of government and how do we expect 100,000 people to 'change' 169.9 million people. |
