Wow. Work has not given me time to breathe. Just hearing something about million dollar wardrobe allowances and I wonder whether they want to buy clothes, boutiques, labels or entire fashion lines. Is Prada cashing in.... Equally funny are folks shouting their heads off as if they didn't elect them, I don't know who is more stupid. I should wring your ears and scream into your blockheads that change of government cannot change Nigeria. Any opportunity to chop will certainly enjoy bi-partisan support. Where are all those anti-corruption gongs in the House, let then pile the money in Eagle Square and set it alight, then I will know they mean business. Mumu Nigerians, reprobate politicians. Wait for them to repair Nigeria na. |
Kogi state is legendary for hosting white elephants. |
Once again. The best days of the APC are well and truly gone. Its all downhill from here. I hoped for a better response from APCwest. But can't say I'm surprised. Pity. |
Tompolo and Co. on a PR offensive. Hard sell if you may ask me but I don't care. As long as government remains in the oil business through the criminal organisation called NNPC they can never stop pipeline vandalism and the refineries will never work sustainably. There is absolutely no way those making millions daily will simply walk away at the charge of some government official. Forget it. |
Okanyidudu:You put Premium Motor Spirit and you're asking whether it is possessed. Of course it is. |
I'm not buying into this. How can 30 percent revenue shortfall equate to 100 percent salary shortfall. What is the remaining 70 percent used for. |
cococandy:So there is no argument for instances of temptation. So the woman should not exercise wisdom. Of course the act is the full responsibility of the man but the woman has to bear the consequences. That is why we wear seat belts even though we drive carefully. That is why we watch over our children though we bring them up properly. That's why pilots run a check list every flight no matter how experienced they are simply because in life there are no guarantees. If a home is run carelessly it can be hit with scandals. |
Let me just pretend as if I have not seen this. |
I said that this man just found a vehicle to ascend to power. Another proof he is not a politician and has scant regards for the party. Is this a good or bad thing, time will tell. In the Parliamentry system ministers must be politicians in the presidential less so. So the battle line is between techocrats and politicians, in the last dispensation, between an Okonjo Iweala and a certain Musuliu Obanikoro for example. Folks, will you have a technocrat learn the political ropes or you prefer a politician school on the job... Think carefully then debate. |
989900:When these bandits re-emerge with the stolen weaponry we will hear the usual cowards tale, 'they attacked us with sophisticated weapons...'. The same weapons they cannot defend themselves with. Every cache of weapons siezed from the Boko Haram militants in the north had an abundance of police inventories. |
Perhaps if the police continues to handover their weapons instead of fighting to the death then perhaps those weapons ought to be withdrawn and radios given to them instead so they can call for military help. Those weapons lost only means more deaths down the line. |
Jpanama3:Hmmm...In a new flick titled. 'Pirates of Nigeria: Calabar Cruises'. Pity. Everyone outguns the police in Nigeria, even bare-chested bandits while their counterparts in the US gunned down a badoo who assaulted a station complete with an armoured van. If it was our police they will say he came in a T55 tank. |
marqueetim:well he can persuade you but he cannot persuade me because I have a dossier on most of them. Apart from that what I am saying is, is he representing his people this way. Think carefully about the term 'representative'. |
bewizle:Abi oh. Dino El Nino declaring his assets including liquid 'fizzy' assets complete with stamp of ownership....reprobate people. |
marqueetim:No sir, a public servant will adopt the persona of the public he is serving. If he is too rich, too different he cannot properly represent them. And we all know Dino was not this wealthy before politics. |
And was it not what the likes of Akinloye were doing in the second republic that got the military boys mad. Branded champagne, customized car horns and convoys and sirens in the middle of London. Politicians have not changed. Infact because of the faulty structure of Nigeria it is Buhari that has had to change to accomodate them. In sane climes it is the people of Kogi West who should be paying his wages and I seriously doubt they willl make a Ferrari his official transport. Look my friends. You cannot change Nigeria under this structure. You folks are just wasting your time. |
Caseless:They all receive the same salaries APC and the PDP. He has received as much as any other party man be it AC, CPC, APGA or anyone else. Ridiculous wages has always attracted bi-partisan, pan-partisan support. It is only the present cash crunch that has loosened their grip on the treasury. |
EbolaParasite:Na. They were all as high as Liam Neeson on 'Non Stop'. Actually you can request your grip stored in the cockpit if you have some serious valuables on board or some legal but dangerous items such as firearms. Some cockpits do have a safe. |
The cake or whatever is in very poor taste. |
If we don't restructure this country nothing will change. Are these issues of good governance? No. Can these things change with a change of government? No. We keep running around in circles while our real problems persist. These slain people have children, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, kinsmen. These will perpetuated the viscious circle. The military is accused of aiding and abetting and all because it is trapped in the structurally faulty system called Nigeria. |
So phones do get viruses. OP what do you do with your phone oh. Are you one of qthem tqhe US DoD is looking for.... |
......And they all preach love.... |
OP is a seed of corruption. I wonder how many young men and women seeing this post will be infected by now and begin stealing on Monday. Kindly disregard. |
Stop worrying this man about Ministerial lists abeg. The ministers work for him not you, they are not elected so he can take his time on that afterall is government not working. Infact I'm beginning to suspect some of you. You want to start lobbying and rent seeking, contracting and kick forwarding. Make una go find work oh. Government work no be work oh. |
Saraki and Dogara are not going to the PDP. Abeg stop overheating the polity. This man should focus on rebuilding his party with new bricks first. |
Haba. 'The Nation' should not over leverage on peoples emotions. Their battle to white wash Tinubu is becoming too obvious. In one fell swoop they are trying to rope in all perceived 'enemies' of Jagbajan, tie them with a corruption cord and hang them on Buhari's wall. I think the only thing striking about this story is the quest to clip Tinubu's wings. That is what everyone I know in the APC wants..... |
I hope this war will be extended to legislative duties for the betterment of the masses. No more consensus. Its a good day. |
Fidecoo:No one wants your type in the army. Those who serve there galantly in the midst of such hardship are not fools. Just pray they don't follow your lead, turn and run from the insurgents then you pack your belongings and flee your country you helped ruin. Wonderful citizens who expect much from the little they give. |
pobosky20:And how is this different from any work of life or any army in the world. There are ex-service men who retired as Captains and Majors as well, after 30 years of service. There are pastors with just one church and a congregation of thirty after 20 years of ministry, there are blogs and forums with next to no traffic after a decade on the web. Does life just promote you because you are there. Please be reasonable. |
I cannot see what is wrong with the operations of the army is his report apart from the instances of corruption. He cannot be discharged because the armed forces is undermanned, fighting an insurgency and policing the state at the same time. What is wrong with that. When it comes to standards I repeat again, it was a collective national decision both financial and strategic to de-invest from the armed forces. It was a delibrate policy of the Obasanjo administration. Some units were closed, others were merged, training and logistics was scaled back. In effect the armed forces was hung out to rot simply because of their involvement in politics over the decades. No one wanted to see a strong army just ten years ago so what is our complaint today. Not everyone suffers from amnesia. Some of us remember that period quite well and as they say it is far easier to destroy than to build. Far easier to demobilize an army than to retrain, equip and prepare them for combat duties. And about the call for the retirement of top officers. How many times are we going down this road of error. Obasanjo retired his, Jonathan retired his, Buhari should retire all. Has it occured to the Corporal that the Generals today were Colonels just a few years ago. What was the result of all the retirements over the years? an armed forces gutted of the necessary experience and manpower to prosecute operations. If you claim you have no money what are you doing creating more pensioners and spending even more on training of the rank to fill the gap. Will the enemy wait for you to do all these. Look at what America did to the Iraqi army. They overthrew Sadaam (good), gutted his army like we did ours (bad), and now accuse the same unprofessional, factionalised, politicised army they created of running from ISIL forces. Same thing in Libya. Is this not stupid. As for corruption, the corporal has just proven to be as naive as the average Nigerian that believes the pursuit of individuals to be the answer. His boss in the Mobil deployment was not in any theatre of war, was not responsible for procurement, logistics and training of soldiers yet he was corrupt. What has that got to do with the army. Even a sub-lieutenant in that post will 'chop' that money and they are doing so all over the armed forces in all kinds of postings. The problem is not the people, it js the structure. Why is Mobil paying cash to soldiers. He talked about Yakubu Gowon being a colonel-in-charge. We all know how that ended. Gowon became equally as corrupt as others. What makes him think the colonels are not corrupt and 'chopping' Mobil, Shell, LNG money as we speak. Corruption is a structural problem, professionalism will remain locked in battle with the opposing forces of federal character, political intrigues and personality cults till Nigerians make the necessary sacrifices of tribe, religion and politics for the greater good of institution and national building. The armed forces is ony a reflection of the society we live in. He wants to go to the Legislature. Are they any better. |
In the days of yore, 36 minutes, the match would have been over ages ago and we will be doing statistics. |
You can see what I am saying. Nigerians are not at consensus on what constitutes right and wrong. This fundamental flaw is one of the reasons why we progress......only in circles. |
