Politics › Re: Drop Your Message of Commendation For President GEJ Here.. by Reference(m): 9:28pm On Mar 31, 2015
There will be enough time to dissect the life and times of Goodluck Jonathan the politician made President but this is the time of General Muhammad Buhari and the APC led 'change'.

Congratulations for running a sturdy, dogged race through the years and the many, many setback. You too are a true democrat and patriot. I personally wish you several successful years in the saddle and good health to go with it.

The expectations of Nigerians are sky high. Whether they will be willing to work with you to attain those lofty ideals is another matter. But I trust that with your experience at the highest office and the mistakes made then, only you is equiped to handle this country's divergent peoples and try to forge out solutions to their complex problems. In this I do not envy you and quite frankly state that your persona, image and folklore can only go south from here.

That is the ultimate sacrifice you will have to make.

Once again, congratulations.

Abeg Nigeria has more than enough problems so don't add yours. It is democracy and Nigerians feel GEJ has not done enough so they want something different. I too have issues over our collective choice of Buhari but there are no alternatives. We will move forward slowly and your aspirations will be met someday no matter how long it takes. Nigeria and the Niger-Delta will not forget your contributions to our national development but you must understand that to some it is a little too much too fast.

And did the APC ever denounce any of its erring members. Be balanced.

I am secondus to commentus. I am dedicating this achievement to the amiable General M Buhari GCFR ( President of NIGERIA 2015-2019 and if he performs well, which we know he will, we shall massively return him 2019-2023)

APC!!! POWER TO NIGERIANS!!!!
He will close banks and jail bankers or what. If you don't re-align your expectations with certain realities you will either flee or inundate this forum with more tales of woe. Buhari simply cannot do all these things expected of him. Most are just pie in the sky.

On his ability to accept defeat maturedly and go as far as shaking buhari to congratulate him as well as apologise for all insults
That is democracy and I believe he will because he is a gentleman. If there is someone who has made democracy work in Nigeria it is President Jonathan. He has not hung onto power by all means. The opposition has remained intact and he tolerated defections which is the yardstick of a true democrat. Those antecedents show he will accept defeat, hand over and set the bar.

My concern are his lieutenants, his bane throughout his tenure. I hope they donot do more harm than they already have in costing him the election.
Politics › Re: Nigerians Wait For Election Result – In Pictures by Reference(m): 1:57pm On Mar 31, 2015
President Jonathan should understand that he has lost this election and stand his men down. The State of the Unions is presently precarious. He has done what he can in his time. Nigeria is not an easy place to govern. Posterity will judge him as the best President to have led this country. Our peculiar system is governed by negative energy so the truth is often inadmissible. He should just let go. Nigeria is bigger than him or any interests. Let there be peace.
Politics › Re: Don’t Panic, Presidency Tells Jonathan’s Supporters: Abati by Reference(m): 7:48am On Mar 30, 2015
This is where the problem starts and Reuben Abati is highly irresponsible for making these statements. He should be wise and balance his partisanship with his obligations towards peace and national development. He should not be fanning the embers of discord because we all know Nigeria right now is a porcelain jug balanced on a knife edge.

With the results so far I will be very surprised if Buhari is not elected President. But stranger things have happened in Nigeria and her brand of politics.

Very biased, false, unrealistic, rubbish reporting. That supporters of the ruling party will orchestrate violence should they lose. How will they when they form government and are more likely to do the rigging themselves rather than being the victims. Reports like these are poorly written and are just presented to the gullible to inflame passions and create a sense of disorder in the country purely to score political points.

Whether the Pentagon is on Bar Beach there will be no war, no reason to panic and there will be a new President sworn in May 29th. Period. Nonsense, selfish alarmists.

THIS IS POLITICALLY INCLINED.
Why this late, on the eve of elections undecided
This is one of the prime reasons it is so easy to misgovern Nigeria. No two people have ideals, can draw straight lines in the same sands. No two can agree on how to be governed.

The best you should do my friend if you are too politically biased against government is to keep silent on this one. Because there are too many apolitical actors who are still in harm's way and this calls into question their integrity when you, yes you need their professionalism more than ever before. You are playing a dangerous game when you know you donot have all the facts.

Patriotism remember is placing the common good above personal preferences. I'm sure the soldiers there will rather be at home with their touch pads making insinuations in comfort. Do not insult them.

In the Navy they are called ballast. Helps to maintain stability during loading and offloading and rough seas to prevent the ship capsizing by shifting the weight of sea water around tanks. In the cyber world they are used to create stability in your mind so that you think weight means worth to prevent the scam from capsizing. Gorrit.

Well then you need someone with ideas and solutions. Unfortunately because there is so much 'pre-qualification' going on in the APC, the best foot might never step forward. You need a Fashola type who thinks on his feet but I'm sure to the Ikoyi based man it will be, 'Never Again'.
