HzRF:Well then you need someone with ideas and solutions. Unfortunately because there is so much 'pre-qualification' going on in the APC, the best foot might never step forward. You need a Fashola type who thinks on his feet but I'm sure to the Ikoyi based man it will be, 'Never Again'. |
IGBOSON1:Hmmm. So kwarration is no longer the chief badoo in Nigeria eh. |
loomer:Hahaha. Una no go kill peson. |
They are fleeing the toilet after taking a bung. What are they afraid of if not all the trouble they are stoking up. For me its a nice break, work free weekend with family and friends. I'll be waking by 8, tub till 10. Download the PVR with family till the curfew is lifted then its the night on the town. |
And will their disciples here on Nairaland follow suit. Oya Omenka and Billionaire start....hugs and kisses please.... |
kitnah:Hmmm. Maybe you're into kwarraption. |
All over the country. The first shot across the bows of would be hoodlums, miscreats, felons or whatever colourful name they are known by in security circles. |
The rains have come and with it there are puddles and mudpits everywhere no less than on the campaign trail. Mud being thrown everywhere. Its all to the good of the nation. |
Remind me when months ago I said no one will come out of this squeaky clean. It is mudslinging time. The best days of the APC are long gone. Those who hung onto the anti-corruotion toga will and must accept to dine with the devils. When I say corruption is not the problem of Nigeria people doubt. But is this not true. Everyone has his nose in the trough. I just pity those carrying the anti-corruption thing on their heads. How does the bile taste now as you will have to swallow the hard facts. People now openly admit that the top hierachy of the party are badly compromised. Personally, if Tinubu did not inordinately enrich himself there will be no APC today for sure. Oya my anti-corruption friends, are you willing to accept that. I am because I believe that in the formation of nations there are no saints. Democracy is not about electing the best, not a beauty contest, but about getting one who will actualise collective ideals and having the power of choice and change. You just wait till or if Buhari gets elected then all the dirt on him from his days as Minister to the exciting days of the PTF will come flooding in. I will settle for a virile multi-party democracy full of looters on all sides than a one-man theocracy anyday. The former has potentials for reforms through competition, the other has only one destination, autocracy and destruction. Let these people be. They are all corrupt. So what. If they gave you 10billion a month for doing nothing and a blank cheque book how will you not steal. The problem is not you or the money or the cheque book but the system that put all three in one room. It is called structure. That is the problem we should all address. That is the prime problem of Nigeria. |
Kai, kai, kai. What in the world is happening to people these days. |
openmine:Its like Germany losing to Finland at home in Oliver Kahn's 100th cap, abeg it matters. |
fboycaestro:Play the Flying Eagles there to reboot its reputation. |
joxxy01:They are the future. That is where the NFF smart money should go. They can keep this SE team for friendlies and commercials but if the folks at the glass house have any balls the flying eagles should be pencilled for Rio 2016, Nations Cup 2017 and Russia 2018. That is a team and management that know how to win things not these over fed, super hyped prima donnas.e |
Very poor taste. Highly immature the references to age, health status and educational background amongst other things one does not have absolute control over. But Fayose has a choice. Either to focus on delivering the dividends to his constituency and quit this nonsense or resign and become Jonathan's campaign head. Because the last time I checked he wasn't. |
Just get the damn thing over with abeg. Useless, lazy people have used the election as a smokescreen for indolence virtually crippling a good chunk of the economy. Can't wait for 'progressives' to start looking forward rather than constantly back to 1983 and for 'transformers' to start producing electricity rather than constantly generating heat alone. Can't wait. |
Really don't know what to think but two things here on both sides. One. Why anyone will want to destroy the elections at this hour thus creating chaos is just unthinkable. How can a President at this stage of our democracy be sworn in without a credible contest. However it is not the place of the party at odds to insinuate that the government is behind this. They should be wise and learn to seperate government from politics as it will bite them back if or when they get into power. The opposition party and its supporters are always quick to complain about smear and threatning but they are masters of that dark art. Lai Mohammed should not threaten the country with mayhem in.account if Buhari's or his party's candidacy because Nigeria is far bigger than both. And there are a good number of us who don't believe in these people, their politics or their principles be it PDP or APC or whatever. We rather believe is Nigeria. And will not tolerate its constant battering at the hands of selfish, self-serving interests. |
Misogynist2014:Yes, freedom for all including robbers, cultists, assasins and rapists. Big up to you. And by the way the above-mentioned felonies have taken place at various campuses/hostels within the past two years with no case being solved. The hoodlums are enjoying the freedom. |
The names of the two witnesses 'Souleymane' and 'Ousmane' are not Nigerian. The Nigerian equivalents I suppose are Suleiman and Usman. These are clearly Francophone people. What are they doing in Nigeria to the extent of being key witnesses. Something is just not right in that region. |
The A-320 series is beginning to show its age. A tighter safety regime is required. |
Is this Political Engineering or Engineering Politics because the two don't mix and when you try..... |
ElekeNtioba:Seconded. Lovely people. Many friends there. |
.....because his fulani herdsmen/tribesmen (do this and that). Were they sent by Buhari. Do they represent Buhari in any way, shape or form. This is the sad reality of what Nigeria has become. It is grossly unfair on the man and his candidacy to suffer for things he has absolutely no control over. No.man.can exert ultimate control over the other. These marauding cowboys may not even know he is running for high office and may not give a hoot if he is affected by their actions. All they want is to survive and thrive in the wilderness of Nigeria..... but do you blame those who have lost a lot and fear losing more and wish to punish one man by roping him in the mess. They have every right to....seek their best interests and protect their own by their ballot. Nigeria is a very, very complex society set on equally faulty foundations. We have deep rooted structural imbalances that make the quest for a decent society through democracy very hard and nigh impossible. In other societies by now the elections will be down to one decision and decided on one factor alone, be it the economy, or corruption, or race, or foreign policy, or security. But in Nigeria the electorate who should decide cannot simply determine universally what constitutes good governance, locate it in a particular candidate and decide for him or her. When you are in a restaurant you know you are there to eat, when you are at the barbers' shop you know you will get your hair done, when you are at the gym you know you are going to work up a sweat. Can Nigerians decide for once a synonymous reason for going to the polls. Can we ever converge our aspirations because if we can't make the necessary sacrifices to unify our ideals a hundred elections will never produce the leadership we need. That is why I am never in a haste to blame Nigerian leaders as waiters at the table for the folks at the table spend all evening undecided as to what makes for a hearty meal. Nigerians are the cause of what Nigeria is today. The waiter can only suggest. The people should know what they want or leave dissatisfied. |
Btruth:Reality pal. Not that it is right though....because justice and righteousness are not the same thing. As with corruption in Nigeria which means the wrongs of my adversary, not mine. |
Yomieluv:Yes, and the politics and politicians you run after and die for day and night, wasting your airtime and bandwidth are saints and redeemers. You just come here in four years time with more tales of woe and another round of mudslinging oh wise ones. |
Ovamboland:And what is performance if I may ask. We've had a dozen or so changes of government. Which one has performed to satisfaction and why hasn't any. |
kelobestline:I said it after the U17 Cup win that the team should be allowed to transition. We have never lacked talents. These players are not the most skillful Nigeria ever produced but they are certainly one of the best Nigerian teams ever because they are a unit. Coach, players and programs. Win the World U20 trophy or not, this squad should have been penciled for Rio 2016 and the nations cup 2017 and World Cup 2018 as a complete package gaffer and all. That is what FIFA had in mind when inagurating age grade soccer. It is all about the future. If and only if the NFF has the courage to rid with the old and in with the new on a continual conveyor belt basis, then we can indeed win the world cup some day, If I was in-charge of NFF policy it will be all long-term. Build your team from the floor and stick with that team through the ranks. Nothing like Junior team coach, senior team coach with entrenched diabolical philosophies. No coach/player bust ups because you are a 'true father'. If the likes of coach Keshi had started at the U17 level I bet he will have been much better. Manu Garba has shown he has what it takes to make it at the highest level of the game and my dream is to see him and his team there....only if the NFF has the courage to. |
Lucasbalo:Quote statistic all you like. Take anti-malaria drugs all you like. As long as you continue sleeping in the midst of bugs, sickness will always be by your side. The farmland to grow those beautiful fruits you imagine Nigeria to become is just not there. Every good farmer starts with the land not the crops. Nigeria is not a fertile land to cultivate lofty ideals as at today. The Nigerian hot-rod needs wheel balancing not necessarily a new driver. But if we wish we can try a new one. |
Machiny:Don't mind all these simplistic comparisons. Are tax receipts, tourism receipts and exports he states not a form of self determination. Are they not a product of local competencies and a mark of power devolution. Was Nigeria not that way before big oil. Is Jonathan the cause of the burden of Nigeria shifting to one axle alone. What was their response to the National Confab. What was their response to the PIB. Abegi make I hear word. Let me see the President that will wean us of oil and onto self determination through taxation and last more than one term in office. The chap doesn't know this country. |
quixotic:It is what Nigeria through decades of squandered opportunity has caused not Jonathan. Even when the match wood was smoking and there was peaceful agitation was it Jonathan that hung Saro Wiwa and by so doing snuff out the last hope of dialogue. My man read your history very well and study how nations are formed. For historical, collective failures Nigeria is just cashing in the cheque. If you think that a change of President or Government without a fundamental change in the State of the Union then five years down the line your cries will even be louder. It is where you are going that matters not the means of transport. |
Lucasbalo:Tribal problem did not start with Jonathan, the Ijaws or the PDP and will not end with his re-election or otherwise. Nothing I have seen in that report that cannot be attributed to any contestant or any ither region.except the person is just being mischievious. The problem of Nigeria is a disproportionate balance of power. The rights of some to have power in perpetuity and the fate of others to be in constant subservience. Nigeria cannot work that way. Let the Ijaws enjoy what others have enjoyed since independence, period. When everyone has had his fill then you can start your good governance rubbish. They only make noise when power is out of their hands. When they regain it they start making excuses why good gobernance cannot work. Nonsense. Are we kids. We have seen enough governments to know what Nigeria is all about. |
Caseless:But is it not true. You can draw lines all you like but that is the summary of Nigeria. Politics has never been about good governance but about who gets what. If judging by the access to the treasury on a region by region time basis, the north-west should be the most developed followed by the north-central (middle-belt) followed by the south-west. The south-east should be the least developed. As a matter of fact because of the civil war it should have a negative rate. You guys just donot understand the country you live in. |
bushdoc9919:It is not every thing you can clean. Some things are so soiled, so toxic that you must just get rid of them. There are enough incriminating documents in that enterprise to make a bonfire Guy Fawkes will be proud of. Just burn the damn place down and scatter the ashes at sea. NNPC should be a memory of a memory. Disgusting criminal mafioso organization. |
