Nigeria's Taye Taiwo has joined reigning Polish league champions, Legia Warsaw on trials till the end of the season.
The left-footed defender took this decision after being surplus to requirement by Bursaspor at the beginning of the season under manager Senol Gunes.
"Taye Taiwo has had a first training session with the Legion . Nigerian defender appeared in the gym on the morning of activation,” Legia wrote on their website.
The ‘Tornado’ as he is fondly called is line to face either Karabakh Agdam or Zenit St. Petersburg in the two friendly games billed for the Legions on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old player who has been handed jersey no 31 had stints with Olympique Marseille, AC Milan, Queens Park Rangers, Dinamo Kiev and Bursaspor.

marveangel: You know how people would say women are evil....I never used to believe it until now......what does one(a girl) profit by causing issues between two friends...this is how this daughter of jezebel came in between friends of several years.
My friend had met this his current girlfriend at my place, she's my sister's friend and course mate and they had both come to see me on a particular sunday....We were just in d sitting room talking about stuff when my friend (Kunle not his real name though) came into the house...I'm not big on formalities so I didn't bother with any introductions plus my friend already knows my sister well and again I was a little distracted, my sister and I were speaking our dialect talking about family issues..
Being the only other persons in the room I figured they just took the time to talk and get to know each other better.....About a month or two after that day my friend told me he was seeing mary(my sister's friend)...I just smiled and was like sharp guy....eventually we became close, that I figured was natural I mean she being my sister's friend and my best friends girlfriend there was no avoiding that....I had her on my BBM chat and we corresponded online every now and them, nothing serious just talk.....everything seemed okay until
Two weeks ago my friend had to leave town for some days, his mum was ill so he travelled to check up on her....Some three days after he travelled, his girlfriend came to my office to see me...I was shocked and afraid, I feared something bad happened to kunle's mom...
When I asked her what occasioned her visit..she simply stated that she had come to register her displeasure at me..she said her boyfriend had been gone for three days and I didn't bother checking up on her...(Was I supposed to do that I asked in my head?) I tried to apologise but she refuse saying she'd only accept my apology if I took her out for lunch...
So I did, we went to a nearby restaurant and ate....while we ate she just kept questioning me about my relationship, she said my sister her told her that I recently broke-up with my girlfriend and that I was sad and heartbroken...I told her I wasn't sad and miserable plus the break-up happened months ago..she asked if I had someone else in my life, I told her no...she kept asking 'why, what attracts you to girl, when do you see yourself settling down, do you have anything against any particular tribe and so on"...I barely ate my lunch....she left after lunch and I went back to my office......I thought that was all.
My friend got back some two days after, I was at the airport to pick him, as we drove back to his place we talk about stuff, good news was his mom was doing much better (I didn't mention the whole lunch with his gf friend, I didn't think twas worth talking abt)..I dropped him at home, said hello to his gf and went back to my place.....and that was the last I heard from my friend.....for over 6 days, even when I tried calling him he didn't take my calls...I was still thinking of how to go check up on him at his place when he came bagging into my office...he just stood didn't even sit.....he was shouting and pointing his finger at me warning me to stay away from his girlfriend...
He said he left town for five days and I was making moves at his girlfriend, he said I took his girlfriend to dinner and force her to kiss me and that a promised to marry her if she didn't tell him.
I was dumbfounded...I didn't even know what to say.....since when did people start having dinner around 1:30 PM....I wanted to call her but I figured she'd just spin more lies, my friend won't even calm down to hear my side of the story...everything is just so messed up right now.....
what I don't understand is WHY.......I mean what would she gain from this chaos she has caused.....Why are women just evil....what did I ever do to her Elevate your thinking and get out of the rut. I don't know of any high flyer that has time for the things you talk about. People barely, barely have the time for family and themselves not to talk of friends. Wetin be friend abeg. If your relationships donot multiply effort or divide stress dump every single one of them. It is idleness, inadequacy, immaturity, in-capacity, one malaise or the other that causes people to 'need' these folks masquerading as friends. Increase your self worth and watch the chaff fall away. Strange women with base morals will be terrified to approach you. As they say, you are what you attract. I know women have an equal tendency to unmitigated acts of cruelty and evil but I also know what repeated and long term exposure to malaria can do to the organs so me and mosquitos cannot co-exist, so it is with low lifers. |

I can understand the yanks though. There is no major threat to US interests in west africa. All the nations in this region are lackeys of the US, so the US wouldn't want to upset the apple cart by 'unnecessarily' arming Nigeria. Countries that benefit from US military aid like israel, japan, egypt, south korea acts as buffers to serious powers that threaten US interests. It is left for Nigeria to acknowledge this fact and get what it need from the equally capable eastern bloc.l Algeria and india, two of the most capable and meanest military powers in the world are armed to the teeth with eastern weapons. It is left for Nigeria to follow their footsteps. Good one. Why this US arms talk all the time. The will of an army will always overcome the sophistication of opposing weaponry. The Red Army had far inferior weapons to the German Army at the battle of Stanlingrad but Stalin put simply put a gun to the heads of his generals and told them not to return. The rest is history. In Vietnam, agent orange, the M16 and the B52's could not destroy the Vietcong. American weaponry has not always prevailed in the face of poor doctrine, poor ideology and poor execution. |

LRNZH: Edit: Update: Maiduguri is currently under partial attack!
We are receiving disturbing reports that Boko Haram armies are headed for Maiduguri, capital of Borno state.
A message from a security officer read “Salam. We just got a report that Book haram will strike Maiduguri tonight. Pls wake up n pray with ur family now. May Allah save us all.”
In the early hours of Saturday, Boko Haram terrorists erased Kambari village, killing 15 citizens and the village head.
Kambari village is just 5 kilometers from Maiduguri. The terrorists are believed to be possibly headed to the capital via this route after the many unsuccessful attempts via Konduga. The terrorists made several unsuccessful attempts on the capital which were thwarted in fierce combats by the Nigerian army and Civilian JTF at Konduga. In one such attack, a Boko Haram leader, “Shekau” double was killed by the Nigerian army.
https://newsrescue.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/shekau-dead.jpg
Nigeria’s president just concluded a visit to Maiduguri in which he had hundreds of soldiers deployed for his protection. It is hoped that these soldiers are still in the capital and will be part of the defense against Boko Haram’s invasion.
Distressingly, Boko Haram burned down the Kambari village while hundreds of troops were stationed in the capital to secure the president of Nigeria’s re-election campaign barely 5 kilometers away.
The terrorists amassed serious weapons, armored tanks and personnel carriers and communications equipment in their successful raid on Bama barracks early January in an attack that saw them kill over 2500 defenseless civilians.
The terrorists have visibly been more aggressive ahead of the February elections. It is perceived that they are eager to make as much gains as they can before a change in administration to a General Buhari government that is expected to be intolerable of their carnage.
Our calls to corroborate this information rang out. More as we get it…
http://newsrescue.com/breaking-report-boko-haram-armies-heading-maiduguri/#ixzz3PoQBKsur What kind of rubbish news is this. And to cap it all you say they are 'making gains ahead of a possible change in administration to one less tolerable of their actions.'. Are you a child or one with poor reasoning. Is a change of government going to change the capabilities of the armed forces. Is the Army now Jonathan's Army and the one you await, Buhari's Army. We know of numerous attempts to politicise, sectionalise and tribalise the armed forces but you divisionary tactics cannot and will not work. Go look for some other ignorants to feed tales as you continue your propaganda against your country and its security forces. One day you will come face to face with what you wish for this country. |

If Buhari goes ahead to win, it is to not one's benefit that his competencies are questionable. We have seen how sections of this country have 'fought' the present administration and severely undermined several high offices of government only to turn around and accuse same of incompetence.
If we say Buhari is not competent (and I believe he is in the context of Nigeria 2015) and he gets into office them we are really in for it because that 'incompetence' will be accentuated by the opposition and will doggedly follow him all through his tenure which will quite frankly be a lame-duck one. Let is say what we want to see. They called Jonathan 'clueless' from day 1 and them lived under his administration for 4 years. Is that not even more clueless. The result of the polls is not worth a single hair on any man's head or a penny lost to arson because the power to fundamentally change Nigeria doesn't lie in elections, politics or leadership positions but in the will and capacity of people to respond. omonnakoda: I do not think that we can make any sensible deductions from comparative oil prices. Low prices are not necessarily a good or a bad thing. It depends on the prevailing circumstances in each country as well as government strategies. Nigeria's situation is very different from most OPEC countries we have a very high population. An interesting figure would be how many barrels of oil do we produce per person in Nigeria it is about 5 while in Saudi Arabia it is 125 barrels each year(5 barrels at today's prices is under $250 YEARLY) often we exaggerate in our minds how important oil is to the average Nigerian Nigeria is NOT 5th . We are Not even in the TOP TEN. I do not see why the government should subsidize petrol or give it away for free. In some countries they even tax the product a lot more than cost e.g in the UK and most of the EU . and so that is a great source of revenue for the government. This is a strategic choice which obviously will vary from place to place but I do not see what this has to do with mediocrity one way or another Don't mind them. Silly people. There is need for him to consult a subject matter expert to educate him more on this before making promises that he cannot fulfil. In this case I would not like to dwell much on his topic but let me point out one important thing about transmission. There is no Nation that will hand over her national grid transmission to a private investor for security reasons. The basic thing is that the government takes up a high equity stake, changes some of the policies that makes transmission unattractive to investors, increase our transmission network and redesign our transmission network to a ring network topography. I completely disagree with you. There are no security issues with private control of transmission. So they said with communications, that foreigners will eavsdrop on our conversations. The fact is that key government institutions and other agencies have other secure, off net channels to communicate with. Same with power. Refineries, airports, hospitals will continue to maintain emergency generators and any way NERC is there to check activities and those who run transmission are held at higher security standards but to keep government in control is a no-no. That is the weak link. Government is a political, unstable, emotional business partner no one wants to deal with. It won't work. |

And some would begin to clap for him just because what he says includes something like MW in the same sentence. Exactly. The first question to ask is. Are those courts and hospitals paying properly for the electricity to make the model scaleable. Mr Osinbajo abeg it doesn?t work that way. What you have in electricity is everyone waiting for the other to bell the cat. The people wait for the vendors to provide power. The vendors wait for the people to pay for it.. His government must capitalize on the 'irrational exhuberance' of the people if voted into office by raising tarrifs if anything is to significantly change. The biggest stumbling block to steady power is the people themselves. If my neighbours were willing to pay for electricity I currently generate for my business and in my home in such a way that I turn a small profit I will buy the generators today. That is not rocket science. Scale is not the problem abeg Mr. Osinbajo. The NERC is not a competing political organisation. It is a people centric regulating agency. He is free to visit and SHOULD do so to get schooled before he hangs himself politically with the chain of unrealistic promises. Nigeria's problems are about Nigerians.
