Buratai, Military After My Life, Alleges Timi Frank

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has accused the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai and the military high command of plot to kill him.

Frank in a statement in Abuja in reaction to an online message designed by the military in which they accused him of being a “Protagonist of Fake News” said the real plot by Buratai and the military is to eliminate him.
It is sad to note that the Army under Buratai has degenerated to this abysmal level of partnership.The Army and Buratai have just shown to be the peddlers of fake news themselves by putting out my name in such a manner . This I must say portends a great danger to the country.

He stated that the military is not comfortable with him for constantly revealing clandestine midnight meetings between Buratai, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and President Muhammadu Buhari, where they plotted to rig the 2019 elections in favour of the APC which they have now done.

Frank said: “Buratai is after my life for speaking truth to power. I want Nigerians and the international community to hold Buratai and the military responsible should any harm befall me in the years ahead as the army chief has vowed to bring me down wherever he finds me. But God shall thwart the counsel of the ungodly.

“I insist that Buratai and the Chairman of INEC have been holding nocturnal meetings with President Buhari on how to achieve unearned victory for the APC during the elections which they have now done.

“Let Buratai tell Nigerians if he ever had any midnight meeting with the President and the INEC chair in the run up to the last two successive elections instead of blackmailing and calling me names.

“But despite all of this intimidation, harassment, blackmail and name calling against my person, I remain undeterred. I will continue to expose their crimes against Nigerians and the nation’s democratic process by using its men to subvert the express will and choice of who governs them in favour of highly placed individuals in the governing APC.”

He noted that European Union (EU) Election Observation Mission, the International Republican Institute (IRI), the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and other foreign and local election monitors, have reported how the elections were hugely marred by military personnel and this is public knowledge.

He said: “Besides, countless video, audio and photo evidence exist online detailing some of the heinous atrocities of the military during the elections, yet Buratai and the military want Nigerians to believe that I am a “Protagonist of Fake News” for revealing before hand their plans to hijack the nation’s political and electoral processes in favour of APC.

“Rather than seeking to kill, silence or liquidate me for putting before Nigerians and the world information that they have not been able to controvert, let Buratai and the military apologize to Nigerians for deceiving them via fake news and propaganda that Boko Haram had been defeated, degraded and Sambisa forest liberated.

“Even little children across Nigeria know that despite the spurious claims by the military, Boko Haram has continued to wax strong and sinister - killing, maiming, displacing and kidnapping scores of innocent Nigerians on a regular basis.

“Apart, from the Northeast states of Borno and Yobe still under incessant attacks from the insurgents, they have extended their theatre of operations to include otherwise peaceful states in the Northwest like Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto and Kaduna.

“Buratai and the military should apologize to Nigerians for being the greatest harbinger of fake news and propaganda in the country by spreading wholesale lies
that Boko Haram had been defeated, including the presentation of a fake Boko Haram flag to President Buhari with claims that Sambisa Forest has been liberated.

He called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to hold to account Buratai and all military personnel found to have engaged in the mindless killing and maiming of innocent Nigerians in a bid to rig the just concluded elections in favour of President Buhari and the the APC.

He also called on the EU and the United States to expedite their promise to place visa restriction on those who promoted or perpetuated violence and rigging during the last elections especially top military personnel, APC stalwarts and members of their families.

This chap has been shopping for attention. Always crying wolf and spreading fake news. I hope when he finally gets the attention he so desperately craves, he will be able to handle it.

I don't understand how someone can be a rabble rouser for a living.

Jobless nonentity whose only claim to fame is that he was a "Former Assistant Publicity Secretary of the APC", a role from which he was suspended and later expelled from the party for anti-party activities over 4 years ago.

I mean, he has crossed to the PDP but still claims to be a "former APC spokesman" because that's probably the highest accomplishment he has achieved in life.

They are canceling "votes".

If you have proof that all of the canceled votes are for PDP, then you should approach the tribunal.

Needless controversy.

The law is clear: Where the number of canceled votes is more than the difference between the leading 2 candidates, the results will be declared inconclusive and supplementary polls will be held in the disputed areas.


If those areas were truly PDP strongholds, they would have won a clear victory. Let the candidates prepare for the supplementary elections and stop heating up the polity.

When the government announced payment of Nigerian airways pensioners September last year, we were all very happy and relieved as their last payment was over 10years ago. Verifications started in October and my father finished his on the 24th of October, credit alerts started coming in in November but my father never got any. In December he got less than a 100K which was his supplementary payment and till now, his main money hasn't come in. He has called and visited their offices plenty times and it has been one thing or the other. They did say it wasn't a verification issue though.

After weeks of back and forth, he had to go to Abuja two days ago, please note that we live in Lagos and this is an elderly man. With no real reason, it now seems like some people have messed with the money and hope that he gets tired and gives up. He is not the only one affected, from what i heard they are about a hundred and some have gotten tired and resigned themselves to fate, these people are old people that have worked for this money, it is bad enough that the payment took over ten years to be paid, now imagine your colleagues spending their money while you look on

He is still in Abuja and making no head way, this isn't right, we do not know what to do again

I'm actually quite surprised the convict lived long enough to be tried and sentenced. Justice Olabisi Akinlade discharged and acquitted Arogundade’s five co-defendants Mustapha Layeni, Adebayo Abdullahi, Seyi Pabiekun, Sikiru Rufai and Yusuf Arogundade of a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit murder.



In a three-hour judgment which started at 2.35p.m., the judge held that the prosecution was able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Arogundade murdered the policeman. Before delivering the judgment, for security reasons and to avoid disruption of proceedings, the judge ordered that the courtroom should be locked and the keys kept in her possession.



On hearing the sentence, Arogundade collapsed in the dock while his relatives wailed in the courtroom gallery. According to the prosecution led by Mrs C. Rotimi-Odutola, the convict committed the offences on April 10, 2010, at Gbara Junction, Aiyetoro, Ajegunle, Lagos.



According to her, Oladipupo was murdered because he purportedly encouraged the use of commercial tricycles in Aiyetoro, causing loss of income for the NURTW unit. The offences contravene Sections 234 and 316 of the Penal Code Law, 2003.

They don't vote according to you but PMB and El-rufai where always visiting Zaria to seek support from the Sheikh. Yes they might not recognise our Constitution but they vote, I have friends who are Shiites.

Don't believe the hype my brother. Ask anyone who lives in Zaria and knows about the Shiites in Nigeria. They do not vote or register to vote. They do not recognise your government or your constitution. They are a government unto themselves...whic is why they keep having issues with successive governments. Politicians pander to their leader for photo ops mostly.

They are of no electoral value. If they were, do you think the current government would lock away their leader and risk getting on their bad side given their numbers in Kaduna?

He that comes to equity must do so with clean hands. Recently the Gov of Kaduna state have being caught on camera making inflammatory statements with the latest threat of violence on foreigners will only put him on the spotlight of the international community, believe you me if the CIA or MOSSAD turn their focus on him, wallahi he is a goner, just last week Friday 3 people died in Tudun wada area of Kaduna state during his campaign tour, if you see the kind of dangerous weapons that one only see in ancient Roman themed movies being openly displayed by touts they call CJTF you will be only be left bewildered. The man knows from his heart of hearts that he stands no chance of winning a free and fair elections in the state because the Shiites has sworn to vote against him and PMB, same with the Christian community/ Southern Kaduna which he himself openly acknowledged, even the traditional rulers are against him, the man is desperate for political survival because all indices are against him.
Fortunately he has exposed himself and if post elections crises happen in Kaduna the international community knows how to deal with him 'Imad Mughniyeh, Mahmo Hamsha, Fadi ali etal treatment comes to mind.

This is a very reprehensible comment made by El-Rufai. Just as reprehensible as the comment made by the PDP chairman, Secondus at a recent campaign, to the effect that the PDP would go to "War" if the elections are rigged by APC.

Politicians need to be a lot more circumspect in their public comments going into the elections to avoid a repeat of the 2011 post-election crisis.

If anyone feels hard done by the results, let them explore the legal option to seek redress rather than inciting violence that will end up consuming lives and property.

Any politician that wants to perpetrate violence must be forced to put themselves and their families in the forefront of the lynch mob.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has weighed in on the recent suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Nkanu Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dogara, in a statement made available to PoliticsNGR, raised alarm that Nigeria's democracy was 'on fire'. The Statement read;

Methinks that should be a bigger issue for them now than meddling in Nigeria's affairs.

I said it at another form that by refusing to heed the summons of the CCT, the chief judge was inadvertently playing into the hands of the politicians. He allowed what could have been handled and dispensed of within the legal space to become a political matter.

Rather than obey the summons of a court, the CJN chose to disregard the summons on the instruction of Wike and his fellow south South governors. Now that it has become a political issue, the courts have become pay as you go. Exparte motions upon exparte motions flying all over the place.

What is the worse that would have happened if he had gone to the CCT? He may have had to quit office. But he would do so with honor and the judiciary will keep it's honor and reputation.

Now with his pig headed action, the CJN has set in motion a series of wrong reactions that could lead to a constitutional crises that will augur well for no one in the end.

The beauty of democracy is that it is all about numbers.

If the people of Senator Melaye's constituency want to be represented by someone bearing around the burden of a court case, so be it.

The system even makes provision for a process of recall, if at any point they become disatisfied with the performance of the senator. That one na their headache.

Buhari might be sick. But Obasanjo wants to play God. He thinks he is the only one that knosws what's good for Nigeria.

He fancies himself to be some sort of "Mandela of Nigeria" and envies what the latter achieved in his lifetime.

He has meddled in every government since Shagari yet he had his own stint of 8 years filled with imperfections. Yet,no one meddled or wrote any Epistles.

Well, this I the last one he will do. He has set himself up for disgrace and he will be disgraced thoroughly....and it doesn't matter who wins.

If Buhari wins, he would have done so without the backing of Obasanjo and the cabal of retired generals. The Buhari we all know will avenge their betrayals. The Generals and their supposed influence will be demystefied.

If Atiku wins, he will come after Obasanjo to pay him back for all of the pains of previous years. Atiku might look gentle but he is a ruthless business man. He knows that as long as Obasanjo casts a shadow over his government, he will never be his own man so he will do all he can to clip his wings.

Obasanjo's chickens are coming home to roost. These elections will be an interesting one.
