jonhemma11:Methinks the journalist should be more interested in WHY the house was demolished rather than on the owner's political affiliations or who he has had a disagreement with. |
Kai! This Tboss person is such a big baby! Such a great manipulator. She knows how to twist situations to make it look like she is constantly the victim of some grand scheme by all of the housemates and Biggie to ensure she fails. I hope she seeks professional help to deal with her insecurities when she gets out of the house. As pretty as she is, she doesn't make it easy for anyone to like her at all. |
wowgist:You have done the right thing by informing your boss and the HR person. Now leave the guy the heck alone, focus on your own job and stop helping him mind his business. |
Below was my comment on an earlier thread on this same matter. It is a shame that the Nigerian Senate has allowed itself to be reduced to this crass level. "The role occupied by Professor Itse Sagay is not formally recognised by the constitution. He is at best a member of the President's "kitchen cabinet" who was appointed without any recourse to the legislature. I doubt very much that the Senate has any legal right to invite him over a statement he can easily argue that he made in his personal capacity as a Nigerian citizen. Like I said during the Hamidu Alli debacle, the Nigerian senate needs to pick its fight carefully. There is no need issuing ineffectual and pointless decrees and summons when it will only end up making itself look irrelevant in the scheme of things. Itse Sagay might be a lot of things but one thing he has going for him is a deep knowledge of the Nigerian constitution both as a legal practitioner and a leading academic in that field. I can almost bet that he will be releasing a statement before the end of today trashing the senate's summon and upbraiding the hell out of them." |

At this rate, the Senate will soon begin to invite Nigerians on Nairaland and Facebook for making disparaging comments against them. That is what the Nigerian senate has been reduced to. Has Saraki's senate even made any legislation this year beyond inviting this and inviting that? Plus how come House of Representatives has a relatively cordial relationship with the Presidency while the Senate is ever ready to pick a fight with same at every turn of the way? Really weird. |
Tboss and Debbie Rise have successfully played the "victim" card it is now becoming irritating. Meanwhile they also sit down together gossiping about all of the other housemates and mouthing off judgemental statements about each person's character. It was their choice to separate themselves from the group just to give life to the false narrative that everyone hates them in the house. Its a game and forming alliances is a plus. Tboss and Debbie Rise have formed their own alliance so I see no reason for all of their finger pointing. |
ChuzzyBlog:Madame Kemi Olunloyo is clearly suffering from delusions of grandeur. Many are mad, but few are roaming. |
So all of these Senators will receive "sitting allowance" today for sitting today to "walk out" the CGC from the chambers!!! So when they get home today and their children ask them what they did in the Senate today, they will proudly say "Today, we walked the CGC out of the Senate chambers for refusing to wear his uniform. Then we asked him to return after one week. ![]() |
linusbnn:Yes he does. |
linusbnn:Not true sir. The current US Secretary of Defense is James Mattis, a retired US Marine general. He retired from the Marine Corp in 2013 and isn't required to wear a uniform. |
psucc:Unfortunately, there is nothing they can really do to him beyond recommending his removal to the executive (The President). I am sure if there was something more stringent they could do, they would have explored that option long before now. I could be wrong though. Perhaps some lawyers in the house can give us the position of the law on this matter. I really wonder why they are wasting all the time chest beating and grandstanding when they cannot base their demand for the man to appear in uniform on any law. The man has even challenged them to cite the law or regulation that states that he must appear in the senate in uniform or that he must wear a uniform to be able to do his job effectively. We are still waiting for the Senate to respond to that challenge. So now that the man refused to appear today as demanded, what will the Senate do about it? Will they direct the IGP to arrest and produce him before them at a later date? Can the IGP arrest the serving head of a co-equal paramilitary agency like the NCS? The senate needs to pick its fights carefully in my honest opinion. |
This is a good one from the Senate. Although I still do not understand the whole drama over wearing of uniform or not. That is totally unnecessary in my opinion. Invite the man and let him come and explain the thinking behind the obnoxious policy and get it over with. Even if he is going to appear in a dress! This uniform drama is ongoing while Nigerians are already been hassled on the streets for customs duty payment. Even the police is now cashing in on the policy by using it to extort money from Nigerians at their numerous illegal checkpoints |
felifeli:You are simply comparing oranges to apples. The Senate is not the "board of directors" of the NCS. The NCS reports to the Executive through the instrumentality of the Ministry of Finance. What the senate has is an "oversight" over the affairs of the NCS. While I agree with you that the CGC has a bit of an air of arrogance about him, the Senate also need to get over themselves and rest this uniform matter because there is no law or regulation that says the man MUST appear before them in uniform. Also on whether the man can turn down an invitation from the Senate asking for a rescheduling due to prior booked appointment, yes he can. It has happened many times before and the heavens did not fall. Based on hierachy, the only person that can summon the CGC at a moment's notice is the President. In this situation, something needs to give so that they can have this all important discussion tht bothers on the welfare of Nigerians. The drama has to stop. |
Enough of the grandstanding by the Senate already!!! What does a uniform have to do with the CGC's ability to defend a newly introduced policy? Well let us see what the Senate will do if the man does not show up tomorrow. |
Tolu Ogunlesi, one of the President's spokesman, just confirmed on Twitter that the President never said Osinbajo would continue as Acting President. Apparently, the statement that was taken out of context (as usual) by the media was one the President made jocular to the effect that he had chosen to arrive on Friday so that Osinbajo would continue to work until he (PMB) resumes officially on Monday. |
Kemen was just a victim of his own folly. A man with big muscles and big dreams but suffering from a gross lack of focus. I just knew that his obsession with Tboss would be the death of him in that house. I hope his indiscretion does not ultimately mar his career for life. Such a shame. |
So is it Governor Ayade that also told them not to scrub their toilet and bathroom regularly? |
seguno2:I agree with you that it is a routine decision. My post was targeted at those who have spun a conspiracy theory of ethnic bias around the delay in the CJN's confirmation. They are trying to make it look like the Acting President took the decision to initiate the confirmation of the CJN in defiance of the absent President. |
seguno2:Do you seriously think that the Acting President will take this kind of major decision without clearing with the President and getting his approval first? |
Hmmm! Governor Fayose paid Barrister Ozekhome N75 million as "part payment" of his professional fees. Was the payment for defending him before God's court? In this same country where you have lawyers chasing blackmarias in front of courts across the country, looking for charge and bail cases as a way of making ends meet. What I don't understand is how Ozekhome, who rode on the bandwagon of social activism to make a name for himself, suddenly got sucked into the corrupt system. |
That escort is probably a part of the Lamborghini guy's personal security detail. |
Hmmm! I remember this terrible day like yesterday. I was living in Navy Town, Ojo and as far as that place was from ground zero in Ikeja, we could clearly hear the booming explosions, see the tower of smoke billowing into the sky and feel the earth trembling beneath our feet with each deafening boom!!! Suddenly we noticed people running out of the barracks both on feet and in fast moving cars because the Navy have an armament dump right besides the barracks mostly containing old and disused, but still active bombs, torpedoes and the likes. There was fear that the earth tremors caused by the explosions in Ikeja could trigger some of the old and disused bombs in the Naval armament dump. That would have led to another tragedy of equal, if not even larger proportion than the Ikeja one because the dump sits between the densely populated Navy Town on one side and the equally densely populated Kirikiri Prisons and Town on the other. Thankfully, nothing of such happened and I recall that in the wake of the Ikeja tragedy, the Navy launched a major operation in conjuction with some foreign experts to evacuate and destroy some of the expired bombs housed within the dump and only retain those that were still in good condition. It took some weeks before some families felt safe enough to return to the barracks. It was a terrible day indeed. May the souls that perished find rest. |
Nigeria. Cutting our nose to spite our face since 1769. What a shame! ![]() |
Origin:I do not know about Islam, but Jesus did preach that honour should be given to who honour is due. Even in the secular world, there is always hierarchy. Nature itself is a clear expression of the fact that there will always be people that are more equal than others. That is the reason you are born a baby, and as you grow, you begin to EARN more respect from those above and below you. I do not see why a sitting position in a religious gathering or any other gathering for that matter, should make anyone feel small or oppressed. Yes we are all created equal before God. But he also appointed leaders over us in every sphere of life. Those leaders deserve honour and there is nothing wrong with giving them that honour. |
OP it is so sad to note that you missed out on service today because you could not obey a simple instruction and you let your ego get the better of you. As long as those ushers weren't rude to you but politely told you to move to another place, I do not understand your anger. If you go to a family gathering or a party, would you go and seat on a seat marked "reserved"? If you walk into an office and the receptionist directs you to a seat, would you storm out of the office because you don't like the seat? If you live in a homestead where some fathers reserve a particular seat in the living room, would you go and perch on that seat? I can give you a million scenarios where you would comply without even thinking it twice. Yet you would come to a place of worship with your over bloated ego and refuse to obey simple instructions? You, my friend, still have a lot to learn in your service to God. Oh, and if you have OCD like you claim, please do get either medical help or pray to God to help you overcome it. It is nothing to be proud of. |
Wrong point of order raised by the Senator. Glad the Senate President immediately set him right. Now, moving on... President Yahya Jammeh has boxed himself into a tight corner. He has been deserted by most of his political associates including his Vice President. His personal legal counsel has fled and advised him to concede. Even his military has told him he is on his own. I would like to see him wiggle his way out of this situation. |
The accident was unfortunate. But citing a nameless "survivor" in an attempt to making it appear like the NAF purposely fired at the IDP camp is totally uncalled for. Cases of "friendly fire" as this kind of incident is called, are rare but they do happen...even among the world's best air forces. Military pilots work with coordinates to drop their payload or launch attacks. It therefore means that wrong or faulty intelligence or even wrong communication of coordinates from the ground crew to the pilot can lead to accidents like this. While we all rue this unfortunate development, let us stop this attempt to politicise it for selfish gains. |
discusant:Not true sir! He did solicit for weapons at this meeting below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XU2JtlUF6M |
jumpandpas:The "Kangaroo" judge obviously had no issue with the charges. It is her duty however to ensure fairness and Mr. Nnamdi Kanu's legal teams raised concern over some of the charges. The judge has decided to give fair hearing because if she does not, you will be one of those frothing at the mouth and accusing her of been unfair. Oh, and stop with this "secret trial" farce already! Google secret trial and you will see that it is nothing like what Mr. Kanu is going to be exposed to. The witnesses will be screened off from the public for their security, but accessible to all concerned parties including Mr. Kanu and his legal team. |
Nnamdi Kanu's team is challenging the veracity of some of the charges against him so the judge has to suspend the substantive suit. If the judge finds that the charges are well put together, substantive suit AKA "secret trail" will resume. No big news here. |
That sign means Association of Biafran Indigenes. The spanish word for Embassy is "Embajada" |
