Seems like the only drama this woman involves herself in in recent times is on Instagram and other social media. I haven't seen her in any recent movies. She needs to get over her bitter divorce and move on with her life. She needs to channel her energy into something more productive than attention whoringon social media. |
I see nothing wrong with Timi Dakolo's post. He is a Christian and speaking from the perspective of God's expectation of a "Christian's" marriage. Let me paint a scenario. If you walk into a room accepting that that is the room you will leave in for life with no exit doors, would you not endeavour to make that room as comfortable as possible? Regardless of the challenges you face in that room, you will work them out or adjust to them with patience and equanimity. A few year's ago, i watched a movie called The Life of Pi. It was a story about a little boy that was castaway on a small canoe with a wild Bengal Tiger after escaping a ship wreckage. Drifting at sea and with the knowledge that he would be the tiger's meal as soon as it got hungry, the movie chronicles how Pi patiently and tenaciously built a relationship with the tiger, ensuring that they both survived until they returned to land. the only reason he went through all of that pain was the realization that he had no where else to go. There was no escape so he either found a way to live on that small canoe with this hungry tiger, or jump into the sea; or worse still end up in the belly of the tiger. There is a proverb that says that with patience, even a stone can be cooked. Successful marriages are built on a bedrock of love, patience, endurance and long suffering. At various points within the marriage, you will need all or any of these virtues to keep the relationship going. But once you walk into that marriage with an exit strategy already mapped out, it is only a matter of time before you use the exit doors you have created for yourself. When that happens, it doesn't really matter how many times you tell or try to paint yourself as the "innocent victim". Bottomline is that you have failed. Contrary to popular belief, marriages last where the parties seek out ways of improving and adding value to the other. if you do not have that understanding, then do not get into it. |
SalamRushdie:I hope you realise the person in the picture you posted isn't Maina. That is Alhaji Alhassan Doguwa, the chief whip of the House of Reps. |
lightblazingnow:The President needs to leverage this opportunity to put his house in order by dealing RUTHLESSLY with whosoever is indicted for this unholy act. The President should not be seen to be pussyfooting around these heinous acts of sabotage perpetrated by "trusted" members of his in-house crew of personal aides and hangers-on. |
Emperoo:Better late than never. People like Fayose wish that PMB had ignored the public outrage and retained Maina so they will continue to have a reason to criticise him. PMB cut short their sick desire yet again by taking urgent steps to correct what is obviously a clandestine move by some members of his kitchen cabinet. The President should go further to identify these fifth columnists within his government and weed them out before they destroy the little goodwill that he has left. For people like Fayose and his ilk, criticism isn't done with any altruistic reason. Rather, their aim is to always gain political mileage from every misstep of the government. I wish the President can also move with this same urgency on other pending cases of corruption by other members of his kitchen cabinet like Babachir and Oke. |
morereb10:Like FFK, no one takes Lauretta Onochie seriously. She and FFK are cut from the same cloth. Both have gutter mouths and cut no punches when it comes to engaging in social media rofo rofo fight. Decent and rationale folks generally ignore them because if you decend to their level, they will mess you up. |
What if it is fake? What if a mischief maker just laid hands on a blank receipt for the church and wrote "deliverance fee" on it? Some churches run bookshops. Some run creches and schools. Some offer other commercial services that require them to give out receipts to customers. The churches do a mighty lot of good in our societies and I do not think it is fair to discountenance the good they do just because of a few bad eggs among them. Even in the days of Christ, there were quacks who attempted to pervert his gospel for personal gain. That's why as a Christian, you are admonished to work out your salvation and test every word against the word of God (the Bible). |
Priscy01:Errrr...she actually just confessed to committing a crime. I wish the guy would see her tweet and press charges against her. At best, she will end up buying him a new generator. |
Not holding fort for the President but he may have said that because of the situation in the Northeast. The link below is to all current and past World bank projects in Nigeria. A simple examination will show that all of the projects in Northern Nigeria from 2015 to date are all aimed at the "Northeast" as a way of ameliorating the impact of the Boko haram scourge in that zone (apart from the Kaduna one that is a KDSG initiative). http://www.worldbank.org/en/country/nigeria/projects/all?qterm=&lang_exact=English&os=0 I am sure the FG and the World bank president will soon issue another statement clarifying his statement seeing the furore it has generated. |
crackerspub:Errrrr...."CASTRATED"? ![]() Oh you mean "INCARCERATED"? |
sunnyb0b0:But monkey pox isn't even fatal and no one has died from it. Sheer ignorance and abuse of social media. |
oikirodah:This headline does not quite capture what the GMD said in his comprehensive response to the allegations raised in the Minister's memo. All these half baked news blogs that peddle fake news should be sanctioned. |
ochardbaby:Lol. Just say you don't understand the "long story" contained in the GMD's response. Which one be "dem go dabaru everything?" na wetin dem dabaru for there? ![]() |
If the autopsy doesn't show anything untoward like poisoning and no witness can testify that the deceased was compelled by force to consume the alcohol that may have led to his demise, then I'm afraid neither Mr. Davido nor any member of his party has a case to answer. At worst, we can all rail and rant about the display of sheer irresponsibility by Davido and all present (sadly including the deceased) not to understand the virtue of moderation. The late fellow was not a minor and was definitely old enough to know right from wrong. He was marking his 35th birthday for crying out loud!!! I don't blame Davido for not reaching out to the family yet. He must have received advise on the legal implication of such an action seeing that he has been directly accused of complicity in the death of the deceased. Such a visit could be misconstrued by some as an admission of guilt on his part especially seeing how he is being trashed by sections of social media. When the legal process is complete and his name has been formally cleared, he can then reach out to the family. I think the family should mourn their loss silently, bury their dead and get some closure rather than seeking who to blame. |
FortifiedCity:Sadly, you lost me from the very first sentence. Nigeria does not have a "fulani army". Nigeria has an Army with people from various ethnic group. |
raymondFirstborn:Oh, its now a "look alike" and no longer a "clone"? Seriously guys! C'mon! ![]() |
magoo10:You really should pick your sources of information very carefully going forward. These 3 men you mentioned have a long history for being delusional. One of them, FFK, is even a confirmed drug abuser who had to be put away for a long time in the past. He may have gone back to his bad ways or even suffered permanent brain damage as a result of his extended period of drug abuse. He is a pseudo-intellectual who has a knack for writing very long and well structured essays that end up containing obfuscated facts, half truths and outright lies. No reasonable person takes this chump serious...trust me. The other Asari Dokubo fellow, is a "wannabe revolutionary" who rode the coat tails of true revolutionaries and exploited the genuine struggle for the emancipation of the people of the Niger Delta, to feed fat and line his pocket. He and his ilk amassed stupendous wealth, enjoying the patronage of various governments. He thrives on hate speeches and enjoys mouthing off empty threats. There was a time when he used to be taken seriously but nowadays, reasonable people just view him as a comic relief in the otherwise macabre story of our daily existence as a nation. Last but not the least, is our "modern day Moses"! Mr Nnamdi Kanu! A demagogue non pareil, blessed with the gift of gab and bluster. The man who promised to burn down the "zoo" and planned to invade Abuja with 2 million members of his organisation with the sole aim of "collecting" the head of President Buhari and bringing it back to his base. Well, you are alive and you know the rest of the story. Now the fact that you consider FFK's usual drivel to be "weighty allegations" that deserve a response from the Presidency tells me you do not know any of these men very well. Like I said, no reasonable person takes them too seriously anymore (especially those first 2. Nnamdi Kanu I believe still has a chance to redeem himself by toeing more peaceful means of pushing his agenda) Take a few minutes to google and read up on "Cloning". I trust that you will then see how foolish and uninformed all 3 men are to be making a claim and weaving a senseless conspiracy theory that PMB was cloned within the 3 months he was out of Nigeria. |
From the OP's narrative, it seems to me Pastor Adeboye only told this story to illustrate the evils of war having experienced one first hand. Seems to me like the OP managed to read his own meanings into some of the pastor's statement based on his own biases. A proverb in my village says that the man who uses the toilet without properly cleaning himself up afterwards will always wear a guilty expression anytime someone around him complains of a foul odour. |
Obaiyski:What does the distinguished Senator mean by "You can never kill a fly with a sledge hammer"? Of course, you can kill a fly with a sledge hammer. Matter of fact, there are situations where killing a mere fly with a sledge hammer becomes expedient. In my opinion, this is one of them. Killing a fly with a sledge hammer might not be an efficient method. But it is definitely effective. |
dre11:Well since a "Serving senator of Southeast origin" was listed as one of the bail guarantors, it is only normal for one of the senators from that region to step up and sign the bail bond. But beyond that, they should have also kept him on a tight leash to ensure he did not breach his bail terms. Rather they tacitly or openly showed support for his activities until the FG decided to step in. |
I feel for the girl. She's most likely going to lose her job because BA doesn't play with stuff like this. This, yet again, is another lesson to people to be wary about what they document either in writing or video in this age of smart phones and live streaming. |
I wonder why they had to put this video out there because there is really nothing here that doesn't happen in other families...especially one that has several boys. In my family for instance, my 4 senior brothers and I are always at each other's throats and we even mouth off worse insults and threats whenever we clash like this. But deep down, we still love and would kill to protect each other from external aggression when necessary. Its just a clash of egos brought about by the passing of our parents (just like this P Square brothers) and the feeling that we are all established men of our own who don't need each other for survival. (Ditto the P Square boys) So when one of us tries to speak, the others feel they should challenge what they consider an attempt to impose an opinion and before you know it, tempers flare and hurtful words are being thrown around. Sometimes it even degenerates to fisticuffs. But just try and touch one of us as an outsider and you will feel the unified rage and heat from all of us. I wish I could advise these Psquare brothers to know that first of all, the issues they are having is very normal in a family of boys where both the patriarch and matriarch are no more. Secondly, there is no need putting their family issues out there to entertain the public. Keep family issues within the family. Resolve those you can and paper over those you can't. Above all, keep the differences within your generation and do not poison the minds of the children against each other. In spite of the cold war between my brother's and I, we each rotate hosting ALL of our children at different times within the year. At that time, all of us send our children to the home of whoever is the designated host for that period so that the children get to know each other and don't share in the brickbats between us, the parents. I pray PSquare is able to resolve whatever the issues are. |
brainpulse:Seriously? You know she is "devilish" because.... ![]() |
That's no tiger. Tigers have stripes. That's a leopard or a jaguar. |
olajay86:This is the height of idiocy on the part of CAN. I read through the article patiently hoping to see the part where CAN empirically shows how a purely finance based initiative will somehow turn out to be a tool for islamizing Nigeria. But as usual, all I saw was the usual sentimental nonsense that only appeals to the gullible and shallow minded Nigerian who is too lazy to research anything. That's how they came the other time with the claim that the adoption of Islamic banking was a ploy to islamize Nigeria. Jaiz bank, established on Islamic banking principles, has been operating for some years now and being of great benefit to the economy. I don't think we are anywhere closer to becoming an Islamic country than we were before its establishment. CAN and all of the other religious organisations should be cautioned against unduly heating up the polity |
juszoe82:Yeah I saw that video. That video where he told the journalists that he was watching through his window while his boys "bravely" took on a Nigerian Army APC with bottles, sticks and stones and prevented them from entering his father's homestead. He was holed up in the safety of his room, close enough to see through his window how the soldiers allegedly gunned down some members of the Biafran Secret Services. But not once did it occur to him to come out and join in throwing bottles and stones at the soldiers as a way of living out his favorite, "Biafra or death!!!" slogan. I wonder how long it will take for the people following this guy blindly that he lost the plot a long time ago. |
No be only "turkey diplomat"! So the whole "Jewish Igbo" scope has fallen apart. It is now "Turkish diplomat that is the new scam. I can't believe there are people actually falling for this crap. |
cstr1000:Things did not go bad in one day. Similarly, things won't improve in one day. Besides, the positive growth is marginal and that's why they called for "cautious optimism". |
When this NBS declared that Nigeria was in a recession many months ago, there was no need for a long essay before the government bashing began. Now the same NBS has declared that Nigeria is marginally out of corruption though it called for cautious optimism and now we are suddenly exposed to long essays from naysayers and critics of the government. From the deluge of cynicism that greeted the announcement of the positive growth of the economy, I conclude that there are actually some people who prefer that the economy continues to record negative growth so they will have someting to bash the government about. Talk about ctting one's nose to spite one's face. Why are we like this? |
