Very touching story. I wish he had gotten his second chance. Yet he is luckier than some of us will ever be...he got a chance to make his peace with God and is guaranteed eternal peace. A lot of us wont get that opportunity. May God rest his soul. |

Obiagu1:Lower niger ko, upper benue ni. Mtschewww. |
Fayose Eating Amala at Roadside But a Fayose Eating Bushmeat and Palmwine at Oya Bashira bar. Fayose Riding Okada. I wonder when we will begin to see: Fayose inspects ongoing road project. Fayose commissions new secondary school. Fayose institutes free medicare for Ekiti children and Senior Citizens. Goodluck to Ekiti Kete. .... |
Mogidi:Your conspiracy theory is misdirected my friend. The principal person that made President Jonathan ' s government impossible was President Jonathan himself who waited for 3 weeks before acting on the abduction of the Chibok girls. A president who had to postpone elections for 6 weeks before we began to feel the positive impact of a war against terror that had been ongoing for years with the attendant loss of life, property and general tension in the land. President Jonathan's collaborators in making his government impossible include the likes of Mrs Jonathan, Asari Dokubo, Doyin Okupe, Femi Fani kayode etc who kept singing praise songs and telling our President how dexterous his dance steps were though they could see him dancing dangerously close to the precipice. Not to forget his coterie of e - warriors on social media especially here on Nairaland who would verbally decimate anyone who dared raise questions about the "transformation agenda." Those, my friend, are the ones you should hold responsible for making this administration impossible. |
If the incoming governor of a state like Benue sees nothing wrong in accepting this obscene gift, then indigenes of that state are sitting on a long thing and I feel sorry for them. But we may be concluding too soon. He has not been sworn in yet. |

musing:Oh shush it man!!! People like you make it so hard not to gloat with harebrained threads like this. Pointless threads like this one are the main challenge we have with Nigeria. See how someone sits in the comfort of his room creating a nebulous analysis of how he wants to move the whole of Nigeria out of Lagos to Abuja....In your dreams. For your information, I am not Yoruba. I come to Lagos for work and God has shown me grace here. Whether you like it or not, this land has been good to your people and has done so for over 100 years. Why try to upset the applecart now? How difficult can it be to shut up and focus on your business. I hope you are getting all the entertainment you hoped to get from here. It is past midnight now. By morning, the real "owners of the land" will be here to give you the responses you are looking for. Goodluck. |
@ Kettykin: What a fantastic analysis. Please do not forget to take JK Pharmacy with you as you move the whole of Nigeria out of Lagos to Abuja. |
georjay:If he indeed has plans to rig and decides to wait till it appears Agbaje is winning, then he has lost the elections. |
The Oba ' s action is reprehensible. But so is this pointless ultimatum. Threatening mayhem in another man's land will not augur well for anyone. The Igbos have lived here for decades in peace and i doubt if Ohanaeze truly want to rock that boat.Threats like this will just further stoke the embers of discord and soon the real issues will become obfuscated. |
What a pity. What I find difficult to understand is how this multitude of people stood by and like lambs to the slaughter, allowed themselves to be wasted like this. Was a spell cast on them before the shootings began or was it just fear that paralysed even the men among them? 148 young and able bodied young people slaughtered in cold blood? Man, I die fighting ooooo!!!! God rest the dead. |
Spoken like a true King. But the Oba of Lagos must realise that this is a democracy and people are entitled to their votes. While one understands his angst, we must all flow with the dictates of democracy. I voted Buhari in the federal elections and I will be voting Ambode as governor because I believe that the state will fare better under his control. Let each vote according to his convinction. |
Forwetinnah:....as were some killed in Rivers State for voting Buhari. Stop talking kak joor!!! Nobody holy pass. Stop the hate and bigotry. |
obowunmi:Congratulations. Good on you. I am not a new poster. |
obowunmi:What exactly have u done with yours beyond posting on nairaland. If you think working at the world bank is easy meat, you can send in your CV for consideration. If you have a problem with the woman's position on President Jonathan, take her up on those points....not attack her personally. |
ireneony:People like you make it so hard not to gloat and be insulting so excuse me while I curse you out... You can go and die if you dont like the idea of a Buhari presidency. You will not be missed. Those of us who believe that God anoints leaders and anointed Buhari just like he did GEJ, will join hands with the new President to build on what has been achieved so far...we will move on without you. If you can't deal with it, feel free to fucking kill yourself!!! ![]() Now that I've gotten that outta my system, I wish you a good day. God bless Nigeria. |
3 hedonistic:Doofus the elections are won and lost and we have a new President by God's grace. Get with the programme. The only drums of war that will sound will be in ur backyard. |
blkmum700:Cut that out Bro. We are Nigeria....Nigeria won it. |
The numbers are all over the place. I think I will just wait for the official announcement. Fingers crossed for GMB. ![]() |
Ngwakwe:Oga go and sleep and stop calling your head an ignoramus joor!!! ![]() I live in Satellite Town serviced by the Eko Disco and since January, I have been receiving ridiculously inflated bills for the 1 hour every 3 days power they supply. The trend even led to a recent peaceful protest by some residents in the area ![]() If you have not been receiving those crazy bills then speak for yourself and stop insulting our intelligence and sensibilities please. When I heard the news of a 50% reduction, I jokingly told someone it was an election gimmick that would be reversed as soon as the elections are over. How strange that it took NERC 2 weeks plus to clarify the category of people that will enjoy the so-called 50% reduction. Mtcheewww!!! |
Chylo:Wow! Did she even pause for a minute to think that there were some women of northern origin in the crowd or standing next to her on the podium? Really bad! |
Waiting to read BRF's response. It promises to be epic.... ![]() |
gbassa:How is the call for change an insult on her husband? |
She clearly and loudly told PDP supporters to "stone" anyone that comes to them calling for change. What was she thinking they would "stone" them with? Panties?? |
She may have been a scout for the terrorists.....and she may just have been a typical muslim woman raised to avoid and resist any intrusive search. This are interesting times. But we must resist the temptation to descend to the levels of barbarism and paranoia where we begin to lynch one another out of fear. That would only further the agenda of the terrorists. If she was a suspect, she'd been apprehended and should have been handed over to the security agencies. She may have proven to be a vital asset to track down her handlers. I don't think the Americans that made those comment will condone the lynching of a captured terrorist on American soil. These "commendations" are pretty tongue in cheek in my opinion. |
barnabasj:This from a President whose campaign manager just alluded to a member of the opposition's buccal hygiene regimen as a reason not to vote for the opposition party. A President whose spokesperson is half of the time engaged cursing out people on social media. I wonder who is truly bitter. |
See what the American ambassador said: http://www.channelstv.com/2015/01/09/us-says-arms-deal-embargo-nigeria/ |
koikoi2:The same America that "refused to sell arms to us" according to you and our President transferred 2 naval warships to Nigeria for free last year. The same US had personnel on ground here in Nigeria training our soldiers until they were reportedly asked to leave for some inexplicable reason. Our President is issuing statements about how the arrival of new weapons has turned the tide against Boko Haram....but there are close to 100 Nigerian soldiers on death row in this country for crying out about poor equipment. C'mon man! The Internet is not only meant for posting on nairaland and Facebook. Do your research and stop being lazy. |
I just bought for 100 naira at a filling station within the Navy Barracks. What is going on? |
Rad1cal:Point me in the direction of one post where I reported "Boko violence with gladness or bury your head in shame. |
