reportminds:
Earlier today, Manchester United announced that the manager Jose Mourinho has been released from his duty as the gaffer of the Red Devils.

The Daily Record initially reported that United were to face a compensation package of roughly £18 million if they dismissed Mourinho before the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho Man United Young Boys

That fee has the potential to rise exponentially, however, now that he has been axed before the end of January.

In doing so, United will now have to pay him a Champions League "top up" having sacked him while the club are still in the European competition, or still in contention to finish in the top four (no matter how unlikely the latter scenario is).

United will now pay the Portuguese manager a fee in the region of £22.5m, according to the Daily Mail, to cut short a contract that was poised to run until 2020.

Though Mourinho was on a basic salary of £18m – which is what Man United are liable to pay in order to dismiss him – the contract included a 25 per cent bonus if the club were still in the running for the two main competitions upon being sacked.

https://www.reportminds.com/2018/12/see-how-much-manchester-united-will-pay.html?m=1
This is a practical demonstartion of a well negotiated salary package. No wonder African coaches cry foul after losing a lucrative contract.

Raalsalghul:
Not in my friends' case. Both their firstborns were irresponsible, they realized on time and strove to make something for themselves. However, at the end of the day, I blame it on parents who didn't plan for proper parenthood. Recently, I've noticed that in Nigeria, getting married and having kids is like a reflex action. People don't properly reflect before breeding, no family planning, nothing. At the end of the day when the going gets tough, they push some of their responsibilities to these firstborns, which sometimes may hamper their progress in life. It shouldn't be. To me, that's a poverty mentality. Funny thing is that the cycle continues. I know because I have them all around me. People need to have less number of kids in this part of the world. For me, max should be two. If I were the president I would make that a law.
sometimes it is because some of our independence and post-independence generations cultivated our parents to an extent that they still believe that they should spoon feed us how to live our respective lives. Our parents resisted change that they viewed wealth acquisition with disdain and some even going to the extent paying marabouts to ensure that their firstborn children don't progress at all or beyond a certain stage in life or even live in the family house, which is usually papa or mama's one-room apartment till the end of days. But for those of us who realized the importance of personal independence along the line, we began to resist their excesses making them understand that change is constant in life. I married at the age of thirty-five when some of my colleagues and friends are expecting their grandkids in order to satisfy my parents that I have a duty to my siblings. Some firstborns don't realize their duties beforehand and some are an outright nuisance which you wish you never had as kids. But I thank the Almighty God I don't fall into that category. You can have as many children as you want on the condition that you can fully provide for them and have the time and convenience to bring them up. You can put a limit to the number of children you want in life but the Almighty God can give you so many and Ordain one particular one for greatness. There are varieties people with so many kids doing well in various walks of life. So no law can stop that when you realize that some of your relations irrespective of religion are polygamists. Understandably we are Africans and no matter our position, we can never run away from our culture and traditions no matter how we pretend to or actually resist it.

I am currently nurturing my kids to see the realities in life very early and they are responding to that positively. The eldest took interest in livestock and poultry, while the younger one wants to be a lawyer. My only daughter wants to be a doctor and that's another two decades of work. The eldest just sold Xmas chicken and made over N150,000 and specifically asked me to spread it between their school fees and shares with our stockbroker.

My take is each child should be made to realize the realities of life early enough to arm them with adequate preparations for the task ahead, instead of putting the whole sack on one person.

IamPatriotic:
Bola Tinubu, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has taken a swipe at Jimi Agbaje, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for saying he wants to free Lagos.

Agbaje had said he will free the state from Alphabeta Consulting, a company which he claims receives a percentage of every dime Lagos earns in taxes and revenues.

Tinubu, former Lagos governor, reacted to the comment on Monday at the APC stakeholders’ meeting in Ikeja.

He said: “Those who said they wanted freedom should go and learn tailoring and vulcanising and we will do freedom for them later. They do not have the people.

“He was in the contest for the first and second times. He is in the contest for the third time. He will fail again.”

Tinubu said Lagos must deliver at least three million votes for the APC during the 2019 polls.

He said it is imperative for the ruling party to hold on to power and that its members “must vote en masse” for President Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC chieftain said: “Here in Lagos, we must maintain a strong outing for APC, a party of progress, development and economy. We must differentiate between a developmental economy and a container economy. We will not accept to get Nigeria corrupt again.

“We suffered 16 years of their failure and fake promises. We have made progress in Lagos We have become the fifth largest economy in Africa. We have six million votes in Lagos.

“Your target should be half; three million or the entire six million. We must vote en masse for President Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, our governorship candidate, senators, house of representatives and assembly candidates, and later, our chairmen and councillors.”

Tinubu urged the party’s leaders to woo back those who have left the APC, charging the local council chairmen and councillors to hold meetings with those who are aggrieved.

I am a first born and this is just a tenth of what most responsible first born face in families.

You are a first born when you pick up responsibilities of others or put others first before yourself because God has put you in that leadership position not because your family said so.

You are a first born when others achieve their life-long aims and objectives with your sweat and they forget you ever contributed or even chide you for asking for favours.

You are a true first born when you save your siblings from trouble and they dont return such favour and laugh a you when your turn comes up.

You are a true first born when you dont ask any favours from your siblings and only ask your Maker for a way out.

You are a true first born when you siblings hate your gut and sadly cannot do anything about it considering the nature of your position.

You are a true first born when absolute patience and perseverance is your character and dont bother about the shortcuts.

You are a true first born when you are the subject of criticism and jest from every one, especially when your neighbours avoid you especially when you are not rich.

You are a true first born when you achieve your life's aims and objectives long after others as your siblings or those before you dont pray for you to be there.

You are a true first born when you continue to bear these responsibilities even with your meagre income.

You are a true first born male when your female siblings do their possible best to bring you down and you survive their venomous bites.

Finally you are a true first born when you have been ordained by Our Creator, Almighty Go to fulfill your duty destiny and positively impact nd direct your immediate and extended families destiny to new heights.

I am proud to be a first born and that is just part of my unfolding personal experience.

He went on to say "you achieved great success in the fight against corruption, terrorism and other forms of insecurity in addition to getting our country out of economic recession. I wish to congratulate you for all the achievements you have recorded in your lifetime and particularly for your humility, deep sense of honesty and faith you have shown in the various aspects of governance, politics and democracy as our President.”

stephanie11:
@POLITICSNGR

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Monday called on party members to work hard to ensure victory for the party in 2019 general elections.

Tinubu made the call in Ikeja while addressing members at the ACME Road party secretariat.

PoliticsNGR gathered that Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode, his Deputy, Dr Idiat Adebule, APC governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his running-mate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat attended the meeting.

Tinubu urged members to immediately begin to reach out to residents the need to sustain the development strides in the state and at the federal level by voting for APC.

The APC chieftain described the 16 years of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as years of failures and monumental corruption, saying the opposition should never be allowed to return.

Tinubu further appealed to them.to at least, deliver three million votes for Buhari, Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates, to further the progress of the state and country.

”We must maintain a strong outing for APC; the party of progress, the party of development, the party of the economy in 2019.

”We must differentiate between a development economy from a container economy of the PDP.

”We must educate our people that, we will not accept or allow Nigeria to be corrupt again, never!

”We have seen the 16 years of their failures and empty promises. We should never allow a return to that era.

”There are six million solid votes in the state. I challenge all of you; your target must be 50 per cent of that votes, three million votes.

”Or the entire six million votes for APC, for Buhari, Osinbajo, for Sanwo-Olu,for senators and other candidates in the state,” he said.

Tinubu commended members for putting the differences of the primaries behind them, urging them to carry the spirit of unity into the elections.

The APC chieftain said the party had not officially inauguratef campaigns because it was awaiting the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish final list of candidates.

According to Tinubu, said as soon as the list is released, campaigns would begin in earnest.

Also.speaking, Ambode urged party members to forget past grievances and approach the general elections as a united house.

He said if he could accept the outcome of the governorship primaries, party members should settle whatever differences with one another and work for progress of the party.

” I appeal to all our party members, who are in one way or the other been wronged or feel aggrieved that they should find a place in their heart to let it just be the same way I have accepted the greatness of the party.

”The party is supreme to all our individual interests because it has a common good for all of us and we must find a place in our hearts to let the party reign supreme.

”I want to further appeal to all our party leaders, when there is a platform for reconciliation, they should proceed also to continue to reconcile.

“When there is a platform for compensation, they should also make those promisory notes.

”All our aspirants who are not candidates must be ready to sacrifice for the collective of our party. It is very important so that we can move this campaign forward.

”It is only when you win that we can compensate. It is only when we win that we can reconcile. So, let us have that collective decision to move APC forward,“ he said.

Ambode also urged them to give the necessary support to Buhari, Sanwo-Olu and all the party candidates to ensure resounding victory.

Sanwo-Olu, in his speech, urged residents of the state to reject the PDP, adding the party had no capacity to move the state forward.

He said the state progressed, exponentially, under APC denied the claim by the PDP candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje that the state was under bondage.

Sanwo-Olu said that a state that had grown to be an economic giant in Africa, with opportunities for residents, could not be said to be under bondage.

The candidate urged advised the people o keep faith with the APC for more development in 2019.

President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Abuja on Tuesday for Zinder, the Republic of Niger, to participate in the programme of activities marking the 60th anniversary of the formal Proclamation of the Republic of Niger.

The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Monday.

According to him, at the invitation of President Mahamadou Issoufou, the Nigerian leader will join fellow West African leaders as Special Guest of Honour at the event.

Republic of Niger, Nigeria’s northern neighbour, commemorates Dec. 18, 1958, the date of its founding as a Republic and the creation of the Presidency even before it gained complete Independence from France on Aug. 3, 1960.

The presidential aide stated that the participation of the Nigerian leader was in furtherance of the deep historical and cultural relations between the governments and peoples of both friendly nations.

Activities lined up for the celebrations in the ancient south-central town and former capital of Niger, which lies 240km north of Kano, include military parade, cultural and artistic displays.

Adesina revealed that Buhari would be accompanied by Governors Mohammed Abubakar, Nasir el-Rufai and Adegboyega Oyetola of Jigawa, Kaduna and Osun States, respectively.

Also on the delegation is the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim.

MiningNG:
The Miners Association of Nigeria and China Miners Association have reached an agreement to strengthen the existing bilateral economic relationship between the two bodies.

Alhaji Sani Shehu, the President of MAN, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Abuja.

Shehu said the association and the CMA reached the agreement at the recent Mines and Money Conference held in London.

He said that the two associations drafted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on ways to strengthen the existing bilateral relationship to promote solid minerals trade between both countries.

According to him, some of the issues captured in the agreement are: to prevent a situation whereby members of MAN find it difficult to receive their payment after supplying minerals in China.

He said other issues captured in the agreement were the need to curtail Chinese mining investors falling into the hands of fraudsters in Nigeria and to also share knowledge on exploration, among others.

He said: “Some Chinese mining investors fell into the hands of fraudsters in Nigeria in the years past, while some of our members supplied minerals to some Chinese nationals and they were not paid.

“MAN thought that the way out is for the two associations to come up with an MoU to address these challenges and to also boost our minerals’ trades.

“On the draft MoU, MAN agreed to assist Chinese mining investors that want to invest in Nigeria with necessary documentation while we source for minerals for Chinese nationals that want to buy minerals.”

He said that MAN and CMA had several discussions and inputs on the draft MoU before other aspects were added to the agreement in London.

He added: “The agreement is currently a draft. Hopefully, a MAN delegation will be going to China by April 2019 to sign the MoU.”

@POLITICSNGR

Diamond Bank Plc dominated trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday, following its acquisition by Access Bank Plc.

PoliticsNGR learned that the bank exchanged 70.98 million shares worth N72.64 million in 129 deals.

Mr Ambrose Omordion attributed the development to the bank’s official acquisition by Access Bank.

Omordion said that the business combination was a good deal for Diamond Bank shareholders as the bank would pay N1 per share plus two units of Access Bank for every seven units of Diamond Bank shares.

“For instance, if you had 10,000 units of Diamond Bank shares, you will get N10,000 and 2,857 units of Access Bank shares.

“This is a good deal for holders of Diamond bank shares. But investors need to confirm what the cut-off date will be,” he said.

Mansard Insurance followed with an account of 20.03 million shares, valued at N40.06 million in eight deals, while FBN Holdings traded 16.52 million shares worth N120.19 million in 175 deals.

Access Bank sold 13.62 million shares, valued at N180. 55 million transacted in 254 deals, while Trancorp exchanged 12.29 million shares worth N14.18 million traded in 108 deals.

An analysis of the price movement table showed that Cement Company of Northern Nigeria led the gainers’ table, gaining N1.45 to close at N17.15 per share.

Access Bank followed with a gain of 70k to close at N8.15, while International Breweries gained 50k to close at N30.50 per share.

Flour Mills increased by 45k to close at N21, while Fidson Healthcare added 35k to close at N4.95 per share.

On the other hand, CAP recorded the highest loss, dropping by N2.40 to close at N34.85 per share.

Forte Oil trailed with a loss of N2.40 to close at N21.70, while Guaranty Trust Bank declined by 95k to close at N34.05 per share.

Unilever dipped 85k to close at N38.05, while Lafarge Africa was down by 50k to close at N11.95 per share.

Specifically, the All-Share Index, which opened at 30,681.50, shed 73.44 points or 0.24 per cent to close at 30,608.06.

Also, the market capitalisation closed lower at N11.180 trillion, shedding N26 billion compared with N11.206 trillion on Friday.

https://politicsngr.com/diamond-bank-dominates-nigerian-stock-exchange/
Some gullible shareholders and onlookers will think its a good deal. Whereas they have been shortchanged as aresult of the following:

How much was the IPO of Diamond Bank?

How much was their Returns on their Investments since then in terms of dividend and earnings yields?

How many institutional investors have come into Diamond Bank since?

How many awards in the Nigerian Stock Exchange has Diamond bank won?

This takeover is a saving grace for them. Otherwise they would have been taken over by eagle eyed AMCON, another parallel economy created by the Nigerian senate/ government. And their managers would havve been in EFCC custody by now awaiting trial.

Congrats to the biggest loan sharks in the world: ACCESS BANK. So many businesses have gone under including Intercontinental Bank and Diamond Bank.

Mixed reactions have continued the acquisition of Diamond Bank by Access Bank, a Nigerian multinational commercial bank, owned by Access Bank Group.

The report stated that the official announcement of the transaction will be made in the course of the week by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The development came a week after Diamond Bank announced its decision to drop its international operating license to focus on national operations following capitalisation issues.

Diamond Bank’s chief executive officer, Uzoma Dozie, confirmed the development in a statement released on Friday.

“With this approval, the bank will cease to operate as an international bank,” Dozie had said.

Moments after the news of the acquisition broke, Nigerians took to the microblogging site, Twitter to air their opinions on the acquisition.

If not for the acquisition, the Dozies would have been arraigned before a court for financial related crimes in the management of Diamond Bank.

I learnt the younger Dozies attended Ivy league schools abroad: which is not a guarantee that they will manage these businesses founded by their parents well if they dont put their education to practice.

Diamond Bank started ICT integrated banking where you can transact your banking anywhere in Nigeria.

Why cant they consolidate on that and other achievements along the line.
Can somebody tell me the reason why most Nigerian owned businesses dont last beyond a generation?

He married an Argentinian white woman daughter/heiress of a rancher where he learned the trade. Hnece the name Rancher's Bees Football Clubb which he bought over from the Defence Indusries Corporation (DIC) Kaduna and turned it into one of the best clubs in the country back in the 80's. and 90's.

He made his mark.
