Way back in 1983, I took up the challenge and toasted Fausat that my cousin/roommate earlier asked our 'big girl neighbor' to call for him. My cousin had disappeared when he saw Fausat approaching and our 'big girl neighbor' was annoyed that we were falling her hand. I rose to the challenge, toasted the girl and to my great relief, she said "No". I was hailed that Saturday afternoon for being a big guy.
I was actually relieved that the girl said 'No" because it was plain suicide if my dad (a teacher and disciplinarian) who traveled home for the weekend ever found out. I thought the matter was rested but little did I know that my wahala was just starting.

The next day being Sunday, I was inside our room with my two cousins/roommates when Fausat showed up at our window smiling. before I could answer her greetings, my cousins disappeared from the room and I started shivering.

Fast forward to week days, we were sitting with my Father at the courtyard when our landlady's erratic last-born (daughter), blunted out "I will tell Teacher (my father's nickname) that you married Fausat'. I think I actually died. It was the landlady that shushed her up but urs truly had died or heart failure already.

Many escapades back in the days, enough to write a book. Thanks Op for this topic.

- What would it take to convince you to cross over?
- They also don't want to overprice you. E.G U apply for the job of Team Lead, Marketing in a Corporation while you are a presently Manager on 120k monthly salary on another organization. But the available position is expected to be filled by the grade of Assistant manager (250 monthly), Deputy Manager (350k monthly) up to Manager (500k monthly).
They will find your present salary and if u are considered good enough, negotiate with you on the basis of salary. U may get employed as an Assistant manger with N250k i.e 100k above your present job whereas you could have gotten more than that on the same job.

qualified to apply)

How smart you are, or how smart you are prepared to be is what counts and not necessarily your present grade. Tony Elumelu and many others
didn't leave school with 'good' grades but it didn't hold them back.

By the way, what grade (and from what school) has Dangote? Mind you, 1st class graduates and even professors would do anything to be in his employ.

So pick a career or trade/biz, be ready to start from the bottom if that is the only way to get in, and show all that encounter you that the BSc grade does not define you in any way.
