Everybody in Nigeria these days is talking of learning handwork but something we all seem to be missing out is the fact that learning a handwork also has it's own problems and disadvantages. for me here are few of the problems: [1] poor or zero capital: majority of people spend years learning a handwork but when it's time for them to start-up you discover that most have little or no capital to start up. [2] offenssive boss: if you have ever learned handwork in nigeria you will discover that some master or the persons teaching you handwork can be very rude and offensive at times. [3] low customers or patronage: yeah you see people who after learning handwork getting a customer to patronise their trade can be very hard at times. |

Hello Joblanders, with this subsidy removal and it's implication on the disposable income of the workers. If the company is not in a position to increase it's staff salary immediately, what measures can we take to ease the burden on the workers? |
Nothing personal.. < note: pls read this with a very gentle and polite voice, that is how I would say this if I were to say this in person Because the voice we use to read makes a lot of difference in how we take the message >why should we ask the whole world on NL about a problem we have a with a person whom we are living with.. it just takes a simple direct question and it should be done.. Just because we have communication access to the whole world, we probably are creating a communication gap with the people who we interact.. we see mom asking a question about her child and a child asking a question about his/ her parent.. I strongly feel.. When possible, any problem or confusion should be discussed with that very Same person.. only the second step should be asking others.. like friends or family or quora… Chill.. and have a happy life She might just be a very nosy person or maybe she doesn’t trust you. My fiance has a cell phone and keeps a journal and I never touch them. He occasionally uses my phone with my blessing but he never goes through it. I don’t think your wife going through your things is normal. Change the password on your phone and don’t tell her what it is. If your journal is on a computer, password protect it too. Explain to her that she has no reason to distrust you and it bothers you a great deal to think she doesn’t trust you. You are entitled to some space, even within a marriage. See how she responds. She’s already invaded your privacy a great deal, so if there is nothing there for her to be upset by, she should accept your point of view when she understands how you feel. If not, then you’ll have to decide how you feel about that. |

Every person is different and everyone finds different things attractive. Some of us prefer intelligence, others humor and third money and luxury. It is entirely up to personal preference. So, some people might be more attractive but it does not mean they are better looking. It just means their personality is well combined. There are some psychological traits that can make you more attractive such as the following 5. 1. Body language Communication is not just about sharing words; it is actually about body language too. The way you stand, act and behave around people tell a lot about you. A simple smile tells you are open for conversation, and lack of eye contact makes you seem uninterested in the conversation. So, try to be relaxed and don’t lose your calm. Avoid using your phone while talking to others because it gives the impression of a rude person. Also, biting your lips makes you seem insecure. 2. First impression We only have one chance for a good first impression and it only lasts 30 seconds. However, even though it can be changed later, it is actually very difficult. So, always try to leave a good first impression and present yourself as a confident and polite person. Shake a person’s hand when greeting them, and try to have a proper conversation. 3. Don’t be too involved with yourself Worrying too much about how your hair looks or biting your nails may make you seem insecure and extremely nervous. Don’t be too loud but also too shy during a conversation. Also, avoid using your phone because it makes you look like you are avoiding people. 4. Self-care Not spending a fortune on clothes or cars is fine. But it is important to invest in things that matter such as clean and well-shaped nails, properly trimmed beard as well as ironed clothes. Your entire appearance matters, so instead of wearing tons of makeup, make sure everything is in the right place. Simplicity is key. 5. Don’t be boring This is a difficult point because it is difficult to figure out whether someone finds us boring. Also, it is hard to get involved in a conversation with people who don’t have similar interests with us. But, avoiding any type of communication makes you look antisocial and boring. If you are not informed about the topic, listen carefully and ask questions to learn more about it. This makes others feel like you are interested and will make them more comfortable around you How do I become a more attractive person? This is what I learned in my 20s. 1. Although you may feel alone, you are never alone. There are people out there that can relate to you, understand you, or support you. You just need to weed the crowd and find those right people, hidden in your day to day life. 2. Take care of yourself. Love yourself. Stay healthy to treat yourself well. Learn what healthy really is. 3. Learn to be alone and independent. Provide your own source of energy and passion. Shine upon others. 4. Put yourself in new, different, and uncomfortable situations in order to unravel the way you think about life and construct a better thought out reality. 5. All of the above lead to confidence. Girls/guys are attracted to all of above. |
Do Nigerians regret leaving abroad? Based on the experiences of my Naija Uncle's wife and friends, they miss the food (tough to get yams in particular), social atmosphere (although online forums help with this: she still texts in Pidgin to family and friends), and, to a lesser extent, the social attitudes. Of course people miss the comforts of home, but Nigeria is not a comfortable place, so there is, quite frankly, less to miss. That said, if Nigeria found effective leadership, and began to make needed improvements in security and infrastructure, we’d both happily move back. A Naija with even marginally better prospects of safety and improvements would attract many back home. I love hot weather, travel to places with local customs and cultures, spicy food and cold beer. I still hope one day to start a school around Lokoja, or just north in the FCT. All we need is more reliable light, fewer kidnappings, and a president who cares as much about average citizens as he does about cows. |

What are problems that could be lucrative to solve in Nigeria? I believe it is important to have a mindset that looks to add value to people, help people, contribute to the society. When we add value, the money would come. There are many problems in Nigeria that need urgent attention and creative solutions. The importance of technology in problem-solving is essential. The internet is a medium that connects people, the successful tech companies (Google, Facebook etc) at their core connect people - they connect people to other people, they connect people to the things they love, to things they need. Concepts that would help me find a problem to solve is asking questions like "How can I connect people to things they need? ", "How do I make life easier for people (myself inclusive), more convenient, much more enjoyable? ". In answering these questions, look around you, the problems are right there, staring at you, waiting to be solved. Communication or Assumption. Assumption is the lowest level of knowledge, someone once said. And another said that it is the lowest form of intelligence. Conflicts fester and communication gaps continue to widen in workplaces, due to assumptions, miscommunication and/or ineffective communication. We are often blind-sided by our prejudices plus biases, and commit ourselves to actions and inactions based on our assumed frame of reality. He’s a Gen Zee and impatient, she’s a boomer and old-fashioned, they are millenials and not focused. And the war continues! At the performance management level, I assume I am doing very well but an expectation gap exists between my manager and myself. The feedback mechanism isn’t utilised by both parties. And conflicts persist. Job dis-satisfaction. Disengagement. Quiet-quitting. Resignation. Replacement hire. And the cycle continues. Seek clarity in communication. Give precise, clear and unambiguous messages and feedback. Avoid assumptions. Let’s reduce conflicts in workplaces. When in doubt, err on the side of caution; just ask. |

I used to work with several engineers with diverse personalities but many of them were somewhat introverted. I found being kind, leaving them to their work and not forcing them to be overly involved. For the most part, they were thinkers and not as introverted as they appeared. I discovered once they got comfortable with me that they would chat and we'd laugh. I think the key is to try to be understanding, try to make sure they are comfortable around you and don't pressure them to do what isn't natural to them. Invite them to social activities like luncheons and other things but don't be surprised if they don't attend. I used to ask one if he wanted me to make him a plate. Eventually, he attended. As long as they are doing their job, leave them to it. People in certain positions took those positions because it doesn't usually involve social activities. Engineers, accountants, dishwashers…there’s a lot of jobs that don't need to be social. Assume that's why they choose that job. Introverts are not rude or arrogant. We just keep ourselves to ourselves and get on with things. It doesn't mean we're unfriendly. 1. Allow them to get settled in at work in the morning before talking their ear off. Introverts sorta have to acclimate themselves to social environments such as work or parties every time. 2. Keep conversations short and sweet unless they are keeping the conversation going. Nothing is more awkward than a person that won’t stop talking to you despite your clear lack of interest in what they’re saying. Just say “hi” and keep it moving unless they are clearly in the mood to talk. 3. If they say their “fine” or “okay” just take their word for it. Don’t try to probe for more information or try to get them to open up to you. We’re naturally quiet, reserved, and have bitch resting faces! We’re not sad or upset…that’s just how we are naturally. 4. If we decline the invitation to the office happy hour or Christmas party, please respect our decision! Don’t try to convince us to go or ask us why we don’t want to go. We would just rather avoid large awkward social gatherings! And everyone, (even extroverts) can agree that office social events are a bit awkward! 5. Don’t tell them that they need to be more social in the office. The only thing we NEED to do is our freakin job! Everything else outside of that is extra credit. And we are also well aware that our social withdrawal may cost us a promotion but we’re perfectly fine with that! Co-workers are just that…coworkers…not friends! 6. Don’t try to force them out of their comfort zone by putting them on the spot. We aren’t “shy” extroverts who need to get out more. We are introverts who actually prefer flying under the radar. Don’t make them give the presentation to the whole office! Don’t make them wear the stupid Halloween costume for everyone’s amusement! Don’t put them on blast in mass emails! Don’t make them give speeches to the whole office! Just leave us alone!! 7. Don’t make our quietness seem like an issue. Almost all of my supervisors have said “Gosh! You’re really quiet!” In reality, we’re similarly bothered by how loud everyone else is but UNLIKE you, we don’t make a big deal about it. We accept people for who they are. SO WHAT, if I’m quiet and you’re talkative?? People are different. Don’t make me feel uncomfortable for being who I am! I know I listed 7 points, but it all boils down to 2 things: ACCEPT THEM FOR WHO THEY ARE LEAVE THEM ALONE UNLESS THEY REQUEST OTHERWISE! |

What are the Disadvantages of Using CEX ? 1. Centralized Control: CEX platforms are operated by centralized entities that have control over user funds and trading activities. This means users must trust the exchange to handle their assets securely and fairly. Centralized control can make CEX platforms vulnerable to hacking, theft, or internal malpractices. 2. Privacy Concerns: When using a CEX, users are often required to provide personal information and complete Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures. This can raise privacy concerns as users' personal data is stored and potentially shared with third parties, making them susceptible to surveillance or identity theft. 3. Counterparty Risk: CEX platforms act as intermediaries in trades, matching buyers and sellers. This introduces counterparty risk, as users must rely on the exchange to execute trades and process withdrawals. If the exchange faces technical issues, financial difficulties, or becomes insolvent, users' funds could be at risk. 4. Limited Control Over Private Keys: In most CEX platforms, users do not have direct control over their private keys, which are essential for accessing and managing their cryptocurrencies. This lack of control means users are dependent on the exchange's security measures and may face challenges in recovering their funds if the exchange experiences issues. 5. Limited Transparency: CEX platforms operate under their own rules and policies, which may not always be transparent to users. Price manipulation, trading restrictions, or sudden policy changes can occur without prior notice, potentially impacting users' trading strategies or investments. 6. Market Manipulation: Due to the centralized nature of CEX platforms, they can be susceptible to market manipulation. This includes practices such as fake volume reporting or insider trading, which can distort market prices and harm unsuspecting traders. It's important for users to carefully research and choose reputable CEX platforms that prioritize security, transparency, and user protection. Additionally, individuals who prioritize self-custody and control over their assets may consider using decentralized exchanges (DEX) as an alternative option. |
