FamilyRe: Sexless Relationship Due To The Man. by Sagamite(m):
shaybebaby:
yeah. Better both parties know where they stand. With communucation however uncomfortable, there is clarity and hopefully resolution.
There are usually a myriad of reasons why this could be but without talking about it, how is the other party supposed to understand the reason for the sexlessness in the relationship?
It is rumoured that Will and Jada smith have an open marriage, I do not endorse this but their marriage has been going strong. I can only imagine that if the rumour is true, they had an open discussion about the issue for their marriage to work.
I guess I am saying that there is no right or wrong reason hence the man should speak up regardless even if it is because he no longer finds her attractive. She might hate him in the short term but in the long term respect his honesty.
I am sorry, I don't buy this.

This is nirvanistic.

Till this day, I am yet to meet a woman who would address uncomfortable issues with frank adult communications when that approach is not to her best interest. They will always look for the easy way out and even create a scenario to castigate the guy.

For example, how many women do you know that end a relationship by sitting a man down and say "I don't fancy you any more and want to break up because I want to explore my options". Which is frequently the case.

https://www.nairaland.com/962850/ladies-which-these-dating-evils

They would rather come up with some accusation of "he is not doing this or that" or create arguments all the time and then say "it is not working, we are always fighting". It is much easier and they don't have to face any emotional repercussions for those.

So why should a man take an approach that is more stressful when it is not in his best interest?

How many women would respond well to her man saying he does not fancy her anymore? Something most women are convinced is their birthright based on her gender and "he approached her"?

Women don't elect uncomfortable communications, I find it strange men are expected to.

If you are sure the land has good title, go ahead and buy it. Look at it this way: Except you invest that money in a business with steady returns, it is gradually losing its value. Perhaps the reasonable way of saving money over a long period nowadays, is to do so in foreign currency. I mean, see how the naira is depreciating every day!

Land, on the other hand, appreciates in value as time goes by. It is limited in supply, and so its value always rise.
Very good points finished off with a weak point at the end.

Afternoon House, This has been a thought that has borne out of my quest of making qualitative financial decisions. Am an undergraduate in my early 20, penultimate year(my cgpa is a "very strong" 2:1). I have been thinking of this idea right from my 100level days.
I have always been a prudent saver who does not just dole out money on just anything. the idea of buying a land and fencing it with some of my allowance and profits from a small business has been very appealing to me lately. as the land can be resold or it could be my launching pad of starting and entrepreneural venture.
My dilemma is this,The land could be bought and fenced and I would still have some money to adequately cater for (small) emergencies. while seeking the advise of a friend , he discouraged me by saying I should be patient and continue saving it. which does not seem appealing as the land is sure to have a hogher resale value in a few years time. Continual saving without any project(even though little) seems depressing to me. Should I follow his advise or I should proceed. House help! embarassed embarassed embarassed

You did not give an indication of the size of funds you have saved up.

Despite this I would give you my opinion anyway.

Continuing saving does not appear to be the best financial strategy right. The economy is unstable and the currency is depreciating like a fcker. My funds in Nigeria has depreciated by more than 40% since GEJ (the Cretin of Otuoke) fcked up the economy. This does not take in the inflation factor yet, just the currency devaluation. Also considering interests on your savings is not great in Nigeria, except you have a means of saving money in $ or £s in Nigeria, your savings would lose value.

So your financial strategy is to (a) look to acquire an asset that will retain or appreciate in value OR (b) to by an asset that would provide you with sufficient utility.

Utility can be financial or emotional (i.e. "money" or "feeling good" ). I mean you can by an asset that can make you money when you use it (e.g a sewing machine, a postgrad degree) or you can spend the money on something you enjoy (e.g. beer, movies, holiday or babes).

You seem to think buying a land would give you (a) and that is the financial strategy you are more inclined towards.

What I would say is that, except you understand how to tactically by a land and how to negotiate a good deal, you might make a mistake there.

First of all, when you buy a land, factor in that there will be a lot of fees you might not be aware of yet.

Agent fees, surveyor fees, registration fees etc. That can amount to up to 20% the value of the land in Nigeria. we are not going to talk about Omo Onile palava if you buy from the wrong source. It is a crazy place. Just note: If you buy in Sagamu, na me own am. grin

Now if you know nothing about land, you might be susceptible to paying more than the land is worth.

Secondly, if you have no understanding of the infrastructural developments of the state you plan to buy a land in, then you are buying blind. It could work in or against your favour.

Well said!

If many black women are like this, then we can have a beginning to achieving a change that can lead to relational progress and less bashing.
RomanceRe: What Sagamite Has Been Saying For Years About How Women Operate And Lose! by Sagamite(op):
Notyourb1tch:
Lol firstly I never insulted your mother and hence that is why I never apologized to you because I felt like I did nothing wrong. It's like me saying all black man are lazy and don't provide for their kids. Now how did I get to that conclusion? It's either through my experiences(brothers, a father, boyfriend etc) or am talking from my anus which was the point I was trying to get you to see.
To be frank this is such a lame and nonsense excuse. I will go ahead and explain why in plain and clear terms.

First of all, I never said "all", you manufactured that.

Secondly, now when I state the wooing response tendencies of many black women, the attempt to explain some logical link that it must be from experiences with female members of my family is so logically lame, it is an insult to my intellect.

What kind of conclusion was that? What logic did you use?

That I date my female family members? Or I was there when my mother and grandmother (some of the 2 you referenced) were being wooed?

As I told you, never piss on my back and tell me it is raining. That itself is an insult. I am too intelligent for that.

Notyourb1tch:
I was not explain but merely stating a fact which I wanted you to know. Honestly how you approach a black woman will determine how she will respond to you. I don't like being rude to guys who come up to me. I am not a snob but sometimes some of you men just don't get when a woman is not interested or not in the mood and from personal experience sometimes you just got to give it to them straight in order to be left alone because often times than not they believe we are playing 'hard to get'.
No, how you approach a black woman does not determine how she responds most times. Many are just in permanently rude mode especially if attractive. Those not attractive even do it more than you would think any sane person with not alot of options would.

If they see money, it is a different thing though.

As for men not taking No for an answer, I am well aware many Nigerian men are fcked up like that. In those situations, I have always said it is perfectly acceptable to be rude to them and tell them to fck off.

I said it at the end here: https://www.nairaland.com/403381/why-nigerian-man-prefer-women/13#6883674

Notyourb1tch:
Anyways its not a must to be or date black girls. When the negative outweighs the positive then go for what you want. Not all black men are destined to be with black women and vice verse. I am just tired of all the constant bashing and pit downs. If we are honest with ourselves out of all the races, black men put down their women the most which is very sad because black people have a lot to deal with already.
It is not bashing and put downs. It is evidential expressions.

Not only black men have that opinion of black women. Men of other races have the same opinion about black women. Even women of other races.

Nothing wrong with desires and dreams, darling.

What I mean by self-overvaluation is the attitude of entitlement that many girls (some fine, some barely average) have and that comes across in their interactions with men.

They think he has to drag himself on the floor to be worthy of being with them and/or he should not have his own desires and dreams, he should be focused on their desires and dreams.

Many girls need to understand that on the long term, they are more likely to be at the disadvantage, so they should negotiate and navigate fairly & responsibly while at an advantage.

(Damn! I have been searching for this my old post for weeks now to reference it. I could never find it. I think because of chaircover's editing of all her posts before deactivating. Finally found it. grin)

Yep, not all black girls are bad, I just think majority have poor social skills expecially on first approach. If you can get past that stage, some are decent to date. I tend to focus my interaction to the few with good social skills if I meet them.

Kai! You no comprehend. tongue

You know, because of me, many Nigerian guys would now be irritated when called a "real man"? grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

If a girl is not competent in interacting with me at the early few stages of our interactions, I am afraid the possibility of a romantic connection between us (at least from my side) is remote.

Reminds me of a black girl I once met and approached, she was all game and we exchanged numbers.

While chatting, meeting up and etc, she now made some comment about me not being invited to her place as no man is ever invited to her place. And she kept on emphasising it. She would not even let me know where she stays. The way she was saying it, it was like if she was saying I was a danger.

Very romantic, init? grin

I can fully understand when a girl does not want a guy to come to her place because of security or trying to avoid easy lay but I think you have to put it across with class and sense.

You know what my response was?

After meeting her like 4 times, I said "Cool, I don't invite strangers to my place too". undecided

We ended up frequently meeting in neutral public places (I am not going to be paying for restaurant/cinema everytime I want to see a girl and I told her this). She was thinking I was going to break and tell her to come to mine. ................................Fck that.

I was never going to invite her unless she eventually invited me. She was now in a position that she was too proud to reverse her error but was still keen (always available anytime I wanted to meet up and messaging me).

Romantic connection? ..........................................Dead on Arrival. grin

I bet she was thinking "If you like me, then you will change your position".

Sorry girl, I am not responsible and will not take responsibility for an unnecessary problem you created because you have poor social skills.

Before the oil boom...we were earning lots of money from agriculture.

(ABU was built with agric money for example.)

Also, some universities took over existing facilities. (ABU took over NCAST,Zaria,IAR Zaria...and severalothers).

But most importantly.....the number of students entering unviersity was few. (Back then if you wanted to enter university....1) You had to pass O level...and at a certain level. No such thing as five credits). 2) Passing O level qulaifed you for two extra years in secondary school....A level...which you had to pass very well to enter university. ). By 1979...we just had 80000univeristy students....and six universities...with 3 in the pipeline. Now we have over 2million university students...with 50 govt owned universities (I have not mentioned poly).

So...you see the problem.

And all those universities need money.

World class universities like UCLA have budgets of $100BN (100 billion dollars). LASU has $55million. Why won't UCLA have world class...while LASU cannot even do third class research?

I know...corruption.Our universities have a lot of corruption. But even if we eradicate it....the only road to world class facilties is by what I ahve just outlined. And we have to also diversify. We have no choice.
Where are they going to get the money from when "superstar" (by Nigerian standards) governors like Akpabio are using millions of dollars to build "world class" stadiums which would be used maximum 6 times a year and the likes of cretins from his state like pendusky are so proud of it?

Please dont pay any attention to the post showing you an older girl looking good. that girl was just lucky oh, you may not hv that kind of luck...

The fundamental mistake most people make in Nigeria is to believe in formalized marriage, if two ppl were to get together and pray to their God to bless their union, they are married. period. no big weddings, nothing like that. most ppl dont know wat marriage is.

Now being 23, you can meet a "boyfriend" and commit to each other. You are actually a couple when you do that you dont need to hold a ceremony. All you need is your union to be recognized by your deity.

You can continue your medical or law school or high flying career with this person supporting you. that marriage and career have to be mutually exclusive is a doctrine of demons! God made a help meet for adam not someone to help him when he was already there. You can help each other out.

The issue with waiting until girls are 30 is they r competing with younger girls; anybody that tells u older is better is deceiving you. with good searching you will find younger girls that embody the so called maturity of older girls.

so you catch the drift?

be responsible for yourself, pray then put yourself out there. Your man is there to support you and your career not to hinder it as is most often portrayed.

You get married unoficcially at 23, the kids can come in when you are 28! It doesnt hv to be immediately.

hope this helps you.
One would have assumed that by using the term "exception" and stating what happens to "most" you would have clicked that it was already stated to her that it is not the norm and only if she was lucky. undecided
